Sumproduct Returns A Zero In False Condition, Instead Of A Blank
Jan 8, 2007
I've written a sumproduct formula, which does what I want it to do; but it returns a zero in false condition, instead of a blank. I've tried several things, but don't seem to be progressing very far. Here's the formula that I ended up with.
In my current worksheet, IF(0 = "CS") returns TRUE, but on any other file this same argument returns FALSE. The cells' formats are both general. I want it to be FALSE.
I am trying to perform a calculation in a cell that leaves the value 0 if before Feb 2014, changes to the value of another cell in Feb 2014 and leaves the value unchanged if after Feb 2014. I can get to the Feb 2014 value but after that month the value changes to 0.
The Cell formula that I am trying to use is as follows:
I have calculated the t values then i have three tables for 3 confidence levels, 0.01, 0.05,0.1 in which I compare the t value with the value from the t-test table. If the t value is larger it returns a 1, if not a 0. This works fine.
To summarise the information I have a final table which I wish to return the highest significance of the given t value.
I am using this =IF((G53=1),0.01,(IF(G44=1,0.05,(IF(G35=10,0.05,"none")))))
the problem I have is it always returns 0.01 even if g53=0. If i remove the formula from g53 and replace it with a 0, it returns 0.05 instead (even if g44 is retruning a 0).
I have considered copy paste values and doing this but that rather removes the automation aspect of the spreadsheet if I need to make adjustments.
Basically, if B36 is yes, use If Statement B, otherwise IF Statement A. If I write Yes, I get a "Value" error, if I change the yes to 1, I get a FALSE error.
I've been asked to adjust some thing with a worksheet someone else created. On the sheet labeled "Criteria" there is a list of dates and some formulas that use these dates. I can't figure out why the result of the formula is a number, i.e "0"; I thought it is supposed to return "TRUE" or "FALSE". If I insert a new sheet, within the same workbook, and insert the same formula, I get "TRUE" or "FALSE". For some reason, the "Criteria" worksheet doesn't return "TRUE" or "FALSE", it returns numbers. I just need to know why this is happening so I can replicate it in the new workbook I'm creating.
I have a worksheet called "Raw Data" where in columns J, I and G contain values. I would like to write a formula whereby if all 3 conditions are met, it will count the number of values found in column C.
I've tried to write an IF statement but it just returns FALSE, despite the result being true. Need the right combination of IF/AND statements that would do this?
=IF(AND('Raw Data'!$J:$J="Maintenance",'Raw Data'!$I:$I="Open",'Raw Data'!$G:$G="1-2008"),COUNT('Raw Data'!$C:$C)). I've tried to attach the workbook, but there's a problem with uploading attachments I think. Sorry if my explanation is unclear.
I have some problem with my data here. I have created a formula to compare the numeric value between the column. I want to have the results in the column but the results I have is wrong. Did i did something wrong with the formula?
I wanna compare the value from A2 and C2, B2 and D2. If the results is correct, then is will display true value in e2 else will display false value in e2.
when i compare 2.3oz and 2.25oz, the value displayed is true which is wrong, it should display "false"
I'm looking to return the values in column A adjacent to the cells in Column B equal to "Y". The kicker has been returning only the cells where the condition is true. Column C displays the desired behavior.
The closest I've been able to get is with a simple IF statement but I'm pretty sure the answer is a far cry away from there and likely requires an array formula. I'd prefer not to use VLOOKUP or OFFSET but will if the alternative is very complex.
I am still haveing problems with my sum product I'm trying to total Row E below, I know I can do this with sumif but I was trying sumproduct to read when the file was closed.
I'm a big user of sumproduct but i have tried many variations on the following =SUMPRODUCT((R9:R14="Sales Revenue")*(S9:S14)) without success.
If the data is clean ie does not contain # div/0 then i can get a fine result.
With a #div/0 then the result is #div/0. Can someone please tell me how to exclude #div/0 from the calculation please. I have searched several boards and cannot find an answer, but i'm sure its simple.
I am trying to write a macro for an autofilter which is triggered if an optionbox or checkbox is selected, i.e. Value=True. What is happening is that when the either box is selected it filters fine, but when it is unselected, the data is still being filtered using the previous results. My question is how do I write a macro that will skip a filter macro if the value=false. For instance, can I write an if then statement which will either skip the macro all together, or filter the data in that particular column as (All)?
Here is what I am working with so far, but it's not working.
Private Sub optlc_Click() If optlc.Value = True Then Worksheets("Sheet2").Range("B1").AutoFilter _ Field:=2, _ Criteria1:="y"
Below is the forumula I am using. The problem is, when the condition is false, it puts a "0". This then effects the conditional formatting as well as the count function at the bottom. I need it to just leave the space alone when the If statement is "False"
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong with this formula in Excel 2003. I figured out how to do it in Excel 2007 using the SUMIFS statement, but alas Excel 2003 won't take a SUMIFS statement.
I have data in a column, J of Worksheet B that I need to add based on 2 conditions. The first conditions are in cells AJ6 to 8 on Worksheet A. The second condition must be matched from Column A of Worksheet B to the same condition in Column F on Worksheet A.
I’m using sumproduct to count the occurrences in a column based on 2 criteria. The formula is: =SUMPRODUCT((D6='[BillPaymentTransactions.xls]2+ per Day'!$F$2:$F$4144)*('Exception Region V2'!$G$6='[BillPaymentTransactions.xls]2+ per Day'!$B$2:$B$4144)*('[BillPaymentTransactions.xls]2+ per Day'!$L$2:$L$4144>0))
The formula works when the array is less than about 3150 rows but goes into error when I use 4144 row range.
I am doing something dumb or does Excel not handle more than 3150 rows for the sumproduct function?
My SUMPRODUCT formula is returning 0 instead of expected results =IF(ISERROR(SUMPRODUCT((WOR_Data!$A$2:$A$429=$A7)*(WOR_Data!$E$2:$E$429=$L7)*(WOR_Data!$K$2:$K$42))),0,SUMPRODUCT((WOR_Data!$A$2:$A$429=$A7)*(WOR_Data!$E$2:$E$429=$L7)*(WOR_Data!$K$2:$K$42)))
I have verified that all criteria match criterion for spelling, case, length(trailing spaces). All fine. First comparison is unit, second comparison is account description, 3rd argument of course column to be summed.
If I take out the error handler, I receive #VALUE! error
I'm trying to sum cells in a column that meet the following criteria: If the first character of the cell = "V" then sum the last two characters in the same cell. I.e., if A4 = "V12" and A6 = "V10", then I need the formula to return the total 22. All other cells, whether blank or starting with a different letter need to be ignored. My attempts have failed, including this last one that returns a #VALUE error. =SUMPRODUCT(LEFT(A1:A10,1)="V")*(MID(A1:A10,2,2))
whats happening to my workbook. On a worksheet called Data, i'm pulling in a lot og data from a database. Then on another worksheet i'm looking for certain things on the data sheet and counting how many there are.
This all goes along find until i close the workbook, and then re-open.I click the automatically update button that appearsand once it finishs updating all my values are replaced with #Value.
I am trying to have an order form auto populate information, however I have run into a small problem when doing so. I am unable to use VBA because it is locked by whoever originally created the spreadsheet so I need a formula solution if possible. I would like for the worksheet "Order Form" to auto populate the type of printer cartridge when there is a 0 in the column "On Hand" on the "List" worksheet. I know a loop could do the trick but I was wondering if maybe a vlookup or if statements could get the job done. Here is a completed sample of what I would like to happen.
I have a list of skills listed as codes in column A. I would like to write in a separate column, B, the name of the skill based on the fact that A contains a specific text. Only the first condition return a correct value, the others condition returns #VALUE! as if they are not satisfied.
I am still having bother with if statemnts (within a cell in excel - not a macro) Sicarii kindly assisted me the other day with this...
=IF(A1="&","V",IF(A1=" &"," V")) *note* there is nothing set in this for FALSE.
How do I get the statement to return nothing (i.e.: have "" in the return) instead of 'false'? To explain further, I have in a column, the following: & ^ & (i.e.:'(space)&') & 33
I would like to create a formula in D7 that calculates the weighted average growth for products (column A) manufactured by Bob (column B). In J5 I've inserted the expected result using a SUMPRODUCT function.
How to create a formula in D7 that will calculate from the data in B6:D6 the same result as in J5. i.e. How do I make the SUMPRODUCT function only consider data in columns C and D when Bob is the manufacturer?
Here is my dilemma I have 3 columns with data ranges two of which need to match certain criteria and if the criteria is met then I want the 3rd columns data to be sumed.
For instance: I want all only want to add column c for the ones in Column a that have blue and column b that have lost.
