Sumproduct Over4000 Rows Returns #n/a

Aug 12, 2008

I’m using sumproduct to count the occurrences in a column based on 2 criteria. The formula is:
=SUMPRODUCT((D6='[BillPaymentTransactions.xls]2+ per Day'!$F$2:$F$4144)*('Exception Region V2'!$G$6='[BillPaymentTransactions.xls]2+ per Day'!$B$2:$B$4144)*('[BillPaymentTransactions.xls]2+ per Day'!$L$2:$L$4144>0))

The formula works when the array is less than about 3150 rows but goes into error when I use 4144 row range.

I am doing something dumb or does Excel not handle more than 3150 rows for the sumproduct function?

Sumproduct Returns #div/0 When #div/0 Is In Data

Apr 21, 2007

I'm a big user of sumproduct but i have tried many variations on the following
=SUMPRODUCT((R9:R14="Sales Revenue")*(S9:S14)) without success.

If the data is clean ie does not contain # div/0 then i can get a fine result.

With a #div/0 then the result is #div/0. Can someone please tell me how to exclude #div/0 from the calculation please. I have searched several boards and cannot find an answer, but i'm sure its simple.

SUMPRODUCT Returns N/A Error

Jul 30, 2007

I have sumproduct formula that returns #N/A error and I'm not sure why
=SUMPRODUCT((YTD!$A$2:$A$2599=B$10)*(YTD!$P$2:$P$2599=$Q19)*(YTD!$E$2:$E$2599))

If I narrow the range from $939 to $1093 then the formula works.

But that is only evaluating 1 unit of 10

As I add worksheets to the workbook and update the unit numbers in B10, the entire range needs to be evaluated for matching criteria.

workbook is way too large to upload.

SumProduct Formula Returns #VALUE Error

Feb 12, 2009

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong with this formula in Excel 2003. I figured out how to do it in Excel 2007 using the SUMIFS statement, but alas Excel 2003 won't take a SUMIFS statement.

I have data in a column, J of Worksheet B that I need to add based on 2 conditions. The first conditions are in cells AJ6 to 8 on Worksheet A. The second condition must be matched from Column A of Worksheet B to the same condition in Column F on Worksheet A.

Sumproduct Returns 0 Instead Of Expected Results

I have verified that all criteria match criterion for spelling, case, length(trailing spaces). All fine. First comparison is unit, second comparison is account description, 3rd argument of course column to be summed.

If I take out the error handler, I receive #VALUE! error

I.e., if A4 = "V12" and A6 = "V10", then I need the formula to return the total 22. All other cells, whether blank or starting with a different letter need to be ignored. Sumproduct For Multiple Criteria Across Columns And Rows

Jan 10, 2014

I've not used SUMPRODUCT previously and can't understand how to get results for the attached.

I've tried SUMIFS but it doesn't work because I'm looking down columns and across rows, I'm assuming.

I've attached a summary of what I'm trying to achieve. I want to sum all costs with an R,P,I,G, etc. in column C for December '13 (E3) in the top table.

The second table is actually in a different sheet but is the source of the data I need added.

Ignoring Autofiler Hidden Rows With SUMPRODUCT And SUBTOTAL

Feb 18, 2009

I posted a thread a while back about how to ignore hidden rows from autofilter when using formulas. http://www.excelforum.com/excel-work...ml#post2039071

The solution worked perfectly. But I have since had to use this on another sheet which is laid out a bit differently, I have tried everything to try and modify the formula to work on the new sheet but so far I have failed miserably!! I need to do the exact same thing on this sheet - filter the sheet by week and search the data for certain criteria ('Line' and 'Fail Reason') and sum up the total quantity, while ignoring autofilters hidden rows. Here is an example of the sheet, along with an attempt of mine to modify the formula, which I think I have got TOTALLY wrong!

SUMIF Ignore Hidden Rows, Sumproduct/Offset Too Slow!

Jan 29, 2010

I'm using Excel 2003. The sumif function will not allow me to ignore hidden rows in my data set that have been autofiltered. I tried using the following formula and it worked:

=SUMPRODUCT(SUBTOTAL(3,OFFSET(CopiedB!$I$2:$I$65000,ROW(CopiedB!$I$2:$I$65000)-ROW(CopiedB!$I$2),0,1)),--(CopiedB!$A$2:$A$65000=$A22),CopiedB!$I$2:$I$65000)

The problem I am having is that the sumproduct and offset funtions used to ignore hidden rows are considered "volatile" and force a recalculation. Moreover, I have this fomula pasted 100+ times and this dramatically slows things down even when I turn autocalculate off. Is there another way to accomplish a sumif with a user defined custom function in VB? I really need to have the ability to do a sumif that ignores hidden rows and is not dramatically slow.
