VLookup Table To Another Table That Has Multiple Values

Vlookup a table, to another table that has multiple values.
E.g.
Table

Look up table - need to return second coloum but not the first value, all the values?

I'm trying to get a more manageable formula for totaling multiple values in one box using Vlookup. For clarification this is what I mean:
On spreadsheet A, I have this table: [IMG][/IMG]
The value in B2 is the name of the item I am making and the items below are the components required to manufacture said item. In order to build them, I need so many (Column E) and I have indexed my remaining values simply by doing =E3-H3. To build each component requires minerals which are listed on a seperate sheet (Sheet B) as such:
[IMG][/IMG]
The only Value in the above table I am truly interested in is "Current" (E Column).
Back on SheetA, I have a second table which adds all of the component minerals up for a grand total of the minerals required to make the item in B2 as such: [IMG][/IMG]
Now, this is my issue: The code for N3 is incredibly unwieldy:
I set this up to look at a specific value and if it was >0, it would multiply that value times whatever value it found on SheetB ("Component Materials"). The size of this formula makes this difficult to migrate to further items, so I would like to reduce the complexity of the formula.
I am trying to use a =vlookup(and( type formula. Excel accepted my syntax, but the formula is not working. Here are the details:
=VLOOKUP(AND(E2,O2),'[SOURCE DATA FOR PROFILES.xlsx]Sheet1'!$B:$G,6,FALSE)
The values from cell E2 and O2 are both present on a row in the SOURCE DATA spreadsheet, and column 6 is the last column in my table (both values appear before column 6, but not next to each other).
The formula returns #N/A. Under those circumstances, shouldn't it return the value of column 6 on the row where those two values are present together?
Do the columns containing the values have to be next to each other in the table for this to work? Does the data type matter (one is a number, the other a street address)? The value to be returned is a number.
I created a lookup table that works quite well. It even has if statements in the LookUp Formula. However, I have to update the table it pulls the information from each day. I wind up recreating the range each time because the table always has more rows each time. Is there a way I could just paste the table in each day and not have to change the range? The columns never change.
I am trying to do a vlookup where the values in the Table_Array have a string appended to them. For example:
I want to look up the string "Example1" and the lookup range is Example1 - monthly Example2 - weekly Example3 - weekly Example4 - monthly
So essentially I want vlookup to only look at the string before the hyphen. My initial thought was to do something like this: vlookup("Example1", left(A:A, 8), 1, FALSE)
and what I want is to say put a formula in cell B3 on Sheet 1 pointing to cell C3 that has zip code 33333. I want it to then take that and look in Sheet 2 and search A1:D3 and when it finds 33333, return "territory 2" back to cell B3 on Sheet 1.
What formula should I use so that it will find the match with a 6-column table (with every other column containing the 'reference' items, so I can't use vlookup)
So that it will return the value next to the match
(instead of returning gibberish, will return a number instead)
Solved
Okay had that table setup that way because I needed separate tables ("linked" comboboxes")
So I just altered it so that the vlookup range changes dependent on the value of combobox 1.
I have a question dealing with a variable column and cell reference I'm using. To make it simple here's what I have done. On the FRUIT tab I have the following table in location BU132 - BV161
Name Column Apples A Pears B Corn 'VEGGIE'!A Peas 'VEGGIE'!B
I'm using the following formula to get the location of a cell on both the FRUIT and VEGGIE tab that has the value.
{where CH61-CH100 contains fruits or vegetables and where CN61 is a table that has the column reference which goes from 1 to 40)
This formula works great as long as the item is on the FRUIT tab. I can just drag the formula down the entire column and get my values for all the FRUITS listed in CH61-CH100. But, it doesn't work for any items in CH which are on the VEGGIE Tab. What syntax do I need to use in the cell next to Corn and Peas above to get this to work right?
I am trying to look & match key values from 2 areas of one table with two areas of another table; in turn, it'd return one value based on the lookup table...
I have a large table that I want to reconstruct. For simplicity sake, let's just says it's 3 rows (excluding headers) by 3 columns.
Item Description 1/1/2014 1/2/2014 1/3/2014
Cheese Burgers 2 3 4
Hot Dogs 5 12 6
Beverages 2 5 3
I want to reconstruct it so that the column headers become values in the table. The table headers are dates, in this case, if that gives clearer picture. So the new table would have 9 rows, (3 rows of data, excluding the header times four columns).
Item Description Date Quantity
Cheese Burgers 1/1/2014 2
Hot Dogs 1/1/2014 5
....
The above example is sorted by date but I would be indifferent if it's sorted by the Item Description.
Is there an easy way to do this? Pivot possibly? Again, my data table is large: 36 rows x 181 columns. Using the copy/paste/transpose feature is pretty impractical.
I get a file every day that contains online orders for a client. They have made the state and country fields on the order form free text, so sometimes the State field has CA, sometimes California, sometimes even Cal or Cali. Oregon may be represented as OR, Oregon, or Ore (and one time even Orygon.)
The country field may have US, USA, United States and sometimes United States of America.
Well, they need this data imported to their system with the states fully spelled out: Oregon, California. And the country spelled out as well: United States, Canada.
Right now I have a lookup tables worksheet that I just have a macro run a vlookup on. But I'd like to know if there is a way I could just put it all in the code, without the external tables.
i.e. some code that, in English, would basically say, "If the value of any cell in column K is among these values, replace it with those values, otherwise just leave it as it is". Could I do that while containing the two sets of values right in the code rather than on a worksheet?
I really just want to replace the standard abbreviated state/country codes with the full text, and if the value does contain Cali or Ore, let them manually make the change. Hopefully that will finally nudge them to just make the online order form utilize a drop-down list of states and countries, rather than free text.
What I'm looking for is a formula that will search a data table on a source tab and find a value in a column. And have the ability to function like a vlookup and display the contents of cells in the same row on a different tab. The catch is the value will repeat it's self at random interval in the data table. So for example the values are ON-1 to ON-8 and MB-1 to MB-8. Each value will have it's own tab and I want the formula to search the Source tab and capture the value in order but on the next row of the spread sheet.
I have a giant lookup table with five columns. I have three variables, and I need to find the row in the lookup table where the variables match the first three columns of the lookup table. ie. Find the row where variable 1 matches the value in column 1, variable 2 matches the value in column 2 and variable 3 matches the value in column 3. If this row exists then return the value in columns 4 and 5 of that row. Otherwise, return a zero.
I was wondering if it were at all possible to add multiple columns to the values portion of a pivot table at once, instead of individually dragging. When you click on them, it auto-sends them to Row Labels, which I don't want. I have a bunch of colums I want to add to Values and don't want to waste a bunch of time dragging them individually.
I have a sheet, called "output", in which I need to complete column C "calculated values". I need to complete the table based upon a formula table (which is in sheet "formulas").
For the first row of data, cell C2, I need to take the price per order ($0.25; cell A2) and number of orders (40; cell B2) and copy data to cell B4 and B6, respectively.
Once the data has been copied to to cells B4 and B6 on the fomulas sheet, I need to copy the calculated value in Row N to the output sheet. Note that the value being copied from N can be N11, N12, N13, N14, or N15 (the one that is <> to null).
I have a spreadsheet with two different rating scales (People & Business) that have a value of 1-5 per person. From this I created another column 'Sorter' that gives a person a single value of 1-25 (5*5 possibilities from the two rating scales.) I am trying to place people into a table based off of the column 'Sorter' as shown in columns U-Y. The real table cleaned up is in the table tab.
the formular that i have in the attached file is returing all the customer numbers Is it possible to return only one value of each the data is in the "data" sheet and the formulars are in sheet1
Is there a way to drill down the data of 100 values in a pivot table into one worksheet without resorting to drilling down each value, having 100 worksheets for each value, to paste into one worksheet? I got my company to give me an experimental computer to test for this in 2007, though if there is a way to do this in 2003,
I have this list of companies (about 50) in one work sheet. If a certain company has sales or costs it will appear under the company name, as either Products, Installation or Freight. It looks something like this:
Company Sales Costs
....
What formula should I use the find the installation that belongs to that certain company? And not all companies has a line that say installation.
I'm trying to extract the selected suppliers orders from a 1000+ rows list ; like appearing with the example of supplier "D" ; and the new one should be dynamic , it means if any data added to the source orders list and if the supplier was one of the selected the new table automatically update ; or can be refreshed
I'm on Mac using Excel 2011. This means I don't have "slicers", which is all my Googling kept turning up.
I have a pivot table with 4 different value columns, and I want to be able to filter it the same way you would a normal table - i.e. remove everything below a specific number in one column, and filter for only specific strings in another column, etc.
I have a table listing certain values (Column C) and their respective probabilities, based on normal distribution (Column D). As these probabilities are dependant only on values from Column C, I'd like to list all the values from that column into another fragment of the sheet, say F6 and below, but each value should appear there only once, no matter how often it occurs in its original Column C (I listed them manually in Column F in the enclosed example). Moreover, if a new value appears in Column C, it should be also included in the new place and sorted in increasing order.
I am trying to automate creation of pivot table, where the first three fields will go into the RowLabel field, and the rest of them will go into the values as "Sum of ____".
Is it possible? Because I could do it one by one; however, those fields are different every time (there are different number of those fields, and their values are also different).
I have a Vlookup which I want to modify so that it can become dynamic as the table array part of the vlookup will change.
So the basic vlookup is as follows: =VLOOKUP($R$3,ATTRIBUTION_FACTSET!$M$60:$P$73,2,0) but the data I am looking for wont always be in the range M60:P73.
So I tried to make it dynamic by doing the following: =VLOOKUP($R$3,INDIRECT("ATTRIBUTION_FACTSET"&"!M"&U1&":P"&V1),2,FALSE) The idea being that U1 and V1 would be numbers that can change so in this case U1 would equal 60 and V1 would equal 73
This vlookup is giving me #N/A and no matter how I modify it I cannot get it to work.
I have an excel assignment that I am stuck on the last question. The questions is as follows:
"Make cells B7:M21 a range called "Data". Using this range, write a function that displays the names of the club's most extravagant and frugal members in cells I28 and I29. This formula may be somewhat tricky. If you cannot do this simply use functions to identify the highest and lowest monthly payments instead."
I have named the range and I have been trying to use a combination of VLOOKUP and the MAX function to return the Last Name to I28 and I29, but I just can't get it to work.
I have a VLOOKUP table with 805 rows and 88 columns (A5 to CJ805). When asked to display the figure in column 84 (CF) relative to that in Column 1 (A), i.e. for a figure in Cell A75 it should display CF75, it sometimes displays the figure which is 1 row above, i.e. CF74.
Is it possible for me to use the contents of a cell to change what table is being looked at in a vlookup?
E.g. lets say i have a bunch of data which is split into months with each month having it's own table. In cell L3 i have a formula to display the current month from today's date from H3 (using =today()).
Therefore when using a lookup i want to refer to L3 which effectively has in the title of the table i want to look at.
In creating a new sheet to allow for multiple piece of information to auto fill; I am struggling on a small VLOOKUP issue. On my parts information page (where the info is being pulled from) I want to be able to separate out data based on the manufacturer while still leaving enough open/blank space for future additions. My issue is that with VLOOKUP every time I add to the current list(s) of data, I have to re-sort to alphabetic in order for it to work right. This means that the separation I am looking for disappears for the most part. Maybe I am doing something wrong or I am missing something, which if so, do Pivot Tables work better for this situation?
How my sheet is working is the user can pick from a list of items, click a button and the item is then transferred to another page, when it transfers the corresponding cells on the transferee page will auto fill with the rest of the info in those cells, thereby displaying not only the item picked but all of the realative data with it.
