I am trying to make my macro more dynamic for a spreadsheet I am working on. I have this code which splits out worksheets (using the specific names of the worksheets-not dynamic) from a main workbook into template workbooks (which are basically just an empty workbook because I didn't know how else to do it) and then saves them using the paths below. I would like to make this more dynamic by splitting the different worksheets into new workbooks based on a key column in the hierarchy worksheet.
Basically I have a list of accounts in column B with the file name they should be exported to in column A. There are about 30 accounts being split into 6 different region files. Also note that the same account might be listed multiple times in column A (needed to add multiple numbers for other lookup formulas in the worksheets) but that account worksheet will still only be going to one of the six region files and not to multiple regions. After these are copied to an individual file I would like to save it to a location on my computer. All files will go to this location.
VB: Sub Create_Subfiles()
Dim FDMName As String Dim FBName As String Dim DIYName As String Dim WMName As String
I have a giant data sheet. I have to cherry pick certain data out of the list and send it to certain associates, in a new spreadsheet.
I want to do this automatically.
I can create the macro to select the data I want, and copy it over (values only), but I cannot find out how to do it in a new sheet with a new name that automatically gets generated with a unique filename (probably using the date).
Essentially, I want to copy my data spreadsheet (post-filter) into a new spreadsheet titled X mm-dd (where X is whatever I pick). I then want to delete several rows from it.
Ideally, the macro would do this (I will put a * next to things I can handle the code for, to save work):Filter Data * Copy Data * Create a New Spreadsheet named (Person's Name) mm-dd.xls Paste Data (values, formats, column widths) to the new spreadsheet * Delete Several Columns from the new spreadsheet * Rename the sheet it's been pasted to Re-filter data (new filter) * Copy Data * Paste Data (values, formats, column widths) to the same spreadsheet, only Sheet 2 * Set the header of the spreadsheet with (Person's Name) and the date Save the new spreadsheet
There will be as few as 1 sheet (in which case I would only want one worksheet in the new excel file), or as many as 4 sheets. I don't need a fancy way to do this, as it will only be done once a week, and I can just make the various cases required to do it even if it isn't pretty, but I can't figure out how to manipulate other files that haven't been created yet...
So, I'm trying to create a database, of sorts. I run several reports every morning that leave me with the information I need, but I would like to be able to store them in a master sheet, thus creating a database. That master sheet will be used by my co-workers and, at times, my customers or boss. Add in a few hundred new lines every day and it becomes a task in itself just to keep the spreadsheet up to date, manually. I'm only needing to do this now because the system I use now will be shut down starting next Monday. I (someone who has never had any formal excel training) have been tasked with creating a new way to track orders.
I can create a unique identifier tag for each line, but I don't know how to program or create a macro/equation to be able to filter and replace values in the tag's row, based solely on the tag. The combination of columns A&B in my test report will give me the unique tags. From there, I need columns E-L to be able to be updated from the new reports each morning.
If Sheet 2 contains a list of items that I have updated during the day and wish to place into the master sheet (Sheet1). I don't know the language needed to write the macro and any necessary equations.
My goal is to have my reports dump information into a master sheet, but only replacing/adding onto existing rows and columns that correspond with each other and creating new lines when no pair is found.
I've attached what my report should look like after I've filtered out the unneeded information. It will be this, every day, except with a few hundred more lines.
Imagine Sheet 1 is the master sheet and sheet 2 is the newly uploaded information.
I do testing of industrial equipment, collecting a lot of data along the way. Once I've calculated the performance metrics of existing systems, I do a cost analysis on proposed repairs or replacements.
I have a couple of goals in trying to streamline my spreadsheet process and make it more effective.
My worksheets usually end up with way more columns than I can view on the screen and that gets pretty cumbersome, so I want to develop input forms that will make data entry simpler. I've tried transposing the formats but they get even more difficult to handle that way. I just ran across the "Build a UserForm for Excel" pdf in this forum and I think that's going to help quite a bit.
Then for each of these types of projects I need to develop at least two report formats, one that will be comprehensive for each individual piece of equipment or subsystem that I'm analyzing, and another that's more of a summary of entire systems, such as a network of pumps all owned by the same customer. Ideally, this summary report would allow me to rank the subsystems by various criteria, such best ROI or most critical to operations. Format-wise what I'm looking for here is to strip away anything not relevant to decision makers, just reporting the important ID info and key results.
Finally, I'd like to be able to store all similar jobs in a single database so I can easily search through past results for comparative purposes when doing higher level analysis on new projects. I keep seeing the term "relational database" bandied about but don't really know if that's what I'm talking about or not.
i would like to create reports and queries in excel just like in access is this possible or do you import a layout,i have a sheet that has data on i would like to be able to pick just one row or mutiple rows and print them off could i save them to a menu to use over and over again, would i use a userform to search for these or can it be done otherways ,have seen pivot tables but seem bit complicated
I need to create 3 or 4 detailed reports from an excel 2010 worksheet.
My worksheet contains data including date, invoice number, company , consultant, days, dollars. There are approximately 100 records in the worksheet.
Requirement 1 :I want to use excel 2010 to automatically generate a series of reports broken down by consultant showing date, invoice number, company, and consultant with totals for days and dollars, when all the records for consultant 1 are listed, then I want to show consultant 2.
Same for any other consultants with a grand total at the end.
My understanding is that excel 2010 makes this process very simple .
See attached file - I would like to use the "Create Parts issue Report" Button to create worksheet titled "Parts Issue Report" based on the pulldown menu in cell B1 tab "Vehicle data" so each pulll down will generate a different "Parts Issue Report" when clicking the "Create Parts Issue Report" button. I think it needs to be a looping VBA to go thru the "Vehicle Data" rows and columns looking for the keywords "late" or past" as I only want a report created on that criteria. The output criteria I have label in the tab "Parts Issue Report" I can explain further if needed.
i have a worksheet that has information filled in columns A-N and rows 3-7262 (not including title and labels)
i need a macros that will separate this data into multiple worksheets based on the word in Column A; these words could be HDA, CCR/NHT, GRU/ATU (essentially dividing this data up by area name, there will be 14 worksheets)
i would also like to be able to update this master worksheet and have it be reflected in the multiple worksheets that are divided by their areas.
I have a macro that enables me to split my master table into separate tabs based on the first column. However, the column widths and the header format is not retained. Is there something I can add to the macro below to keep the formatting?
Code: Sub DispatchTimeSeriesToSheets() Dim ws As Worksheet Set ws = Sheets("MasterList") Dim LastRow As Long
I have 30 xlsx files in a folder and I want the first sheet of all that files to be merged to a new workbook. The thing is I don't want the macro to copy paste the value in to the same sheet of the new master sheet like Ron's excel merge tool does. I want a macro to create new 30 sheets on the master file and copy the data from source files. And I want the newly added sheets to be renamed as the source file name. This works well except the sheet renaming thing.
Sub Merge2MultiSheets() Dim wbDst As Workbook Dim wbSrc As Workbook
I have a master sheet with allot of columns. I want to be able to cut the data in seperate tabs.
I would like to have a formula to create a unique IDs to easily pull the information I need. If column Type and Vendor are the same I want the number in the Unique ID to repeat. The info on the master sheet can be sorted at any time.
Unique Id Type Vendor Commission-1 Commission Microsoft Commission-2 Commission Google Commission-1 Commission Microsoft Commission-3 Commission Netflix Commission-2 Commission Google
I need to consolidate a lot of information from multiple workbooks all the workbooks are located in a folder, i am not bothered about running each one separately or a group at a time, each work book has ten sheets with each sheet in the workbook being different, it needs to add to the next blank row on each sheet.
I am trying to find a code that will allow me to generate multiple sheets depending on what is selected in one specific column. I have found a code that is perfect for this however I can't seem to set the range. For example instead of copying all of column headings I only need to copy up to column AN2.
I am trying to create a master file, with a macro built in, that will allow multiple users to use it at once. The macro is to open a dilouge(sp sorry) box showing the contents of a specific folder, allow the user to selct one of the sheets, then copy and paste the set details from the hidden tab on this sheet (All sheets will be the same barring title), append the details to the master list in the first empty row.
I've got this far thus Sub Macro1() ' ' Macro1 Macro ' ' ' Modify this folder path to point to the files you want to use. FolderPath = "My Folder name here"
' Set the current directory to the the folder path. ChDrive FolderPath
So I can copy the row, but I can't get the first part to open .
VBA Macro to work through a worksheet that consist of static data (tab 4) cost centres and to populate a new work book per cost centre consisting of three tabs for every cost centre found in the static data.
The master Workbook has the following tabs:
Tab 1 is called travel and consist of column a which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns)
Tab 2 is called Mobile and consist of column a which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns)
Tab 3 is called Expenses. and consist of column a which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns)
Tab 4 Static Date column 1 cost centre number and consist of column 1 which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns).
If no information found on a specific cost centre, the tab will include the headers and return the words "No transactions for this period"
Whilst splitting data into Tabs the workbooks should check against the Static Data table and include cost center description in Column B of each tab in the new workbook.
If master workbook consist of the following....
Tab 1 is called travel and consist of column 1 which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns), cost centres, 555,557,
Tab 2 is called Mobile column 1 cost centre number and consist of column 1 which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns) cost centres, 555, 78689,
Tab 3 is called Expenses. column 1 cost centre number and consist of column 1 which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns), cost centres, 555,
tab 4 Static Date - column 1 cost centre number and consist of column 1 which is the cost centre number (plus 14 other columns). cost centres, 555, 557,78689
It should output 3 workbooks by cost centre number.
One for 555, which consists of 3 tabs, travel, mobile and expenses.
A second for 557 which has 3 tabs travel, mobile and expenses, but only with data in the travel tab.
A third for 78689 which has 3 tabs travel, mobile and expenses, but only with data for mobile data.
The workbooks will be replicates of the contents within the tabs where column a wil be the cost centre plus 14 additional columns.
I'm using Excel 2010. I have a workbook that has six or seven worksheets in it. Each worksheet has a header row, and then lists of clients at the clinic where I work. The columns are last name, first name, medicaid #, social security #, DOB. We use these lists every month to verify that each client has Medicaid for the month. Therefore, there are also columns with names like April, May, June where we mark yes or no for each client. Some of the worksheets also have information about the clients' guardian, phone number, etc., but not every worksheet has those. (I can't show you the worksheets b/c of federal privacy laws, of course.)
I really, really want a worksheet that's a master list of the data from each of the existing worksheets, and I'd like to keep it synced to the source worksheets. I'd love it if I could also add a column telling me which of the source worksheets the data originally came from.
I've tried a few things to make it happen, but nothing has worked.
I've tried using the Consolidate function built into Excel as well, but that only works with numbers, not text, and it wants to manipulate the numbers instead of just copying them over.
I've found several macros online that should have worked (including one from this site) but that I wasn't able to install to my worksheet. I followed all the steps for installation, and throught it worked, but when I went back to the Excel file to run the macro, the list of available macros remained emptpy.
Is it possible that corporate IT has disabled the ability to install macros? Is there somewhere in Options were I need to go to turn Macros on?
I have a spreadsheet with these columns:Group_Name Contact Name Company Name Contact ID
Situation: The Group Name Column has the name of the group that the Contact Name is a member of. The Contact Name could be a member of many Group Names and therefore there may be many rows of the same Contact Name one with each Group Name that they are a member of. I have manually created separate columns for each Group Name in the spreadsheet that is attached.
Goal: I would like to have a macro that will look at the Group Name column and create a new column for each distinct group. I then would like the macro to go down the Contact Name column (I believe that I will have to have it sorted)and look at the Group Name that is listed in that row and put "True" in the Group Column that was created in the above step. Then, go to the next row, if the Contact Name is the same, look that the Group Name column and put "True" in the corresponding Group Column in the FIRST ROW OF THAT CONTACT NAME. Then Delete that row.
I have a table of data with three columns. In the first column I have different values, but they can also repeat. How can I have VB look at my table and for every distinct value in the first column create a sheet with the value name and paste all the data into that same sheet?
How can I code to create a copy of a worksheet in an excel file I am using a macro on, after the macro is done processing? In other words, when the macro completes processing, create a copy of the worksheet labelled "Output", and save it in a directory that the user chooses? Also, would it be possible to create a .pdf file?
I have a code that will create separate sheets from “SDL_Calendar” sheet for each team and its working fine. Modify the code to create sheets for each Team BY YEAR based on user selection in Cells “H6”, “H7” and “H8” in “P6_Report” sheet. For filtering BY YEAR Column "D" Can be Used in “SDL_Calendar” sheet.
I have attached the work book of what I am trying to accomplish :
I have a workbook with two sheets the first one is called "SDL" contain master data for three TEAMS (TEAM.A, TEAM.B & TEAM.C") and the second worksheet is called "SDL_Calendar" for graphical chart view.
I need Macro to copy the relevant column data from "SDL" sheet and paste into appropriate column in "SDL_Calendar" sheet then make separate sheets for each "TEAM".
I have attached the work book of what I am trying to accomplish.
I am trying to take items with multiple market attributes and columnized them so that they can be sorted or filtered.
Item 110 is suitable for Preteen, Teen, Young Adult, Adult and Senior Item 121 is suitable for Teen and Young Adult Item 250 is suitable for Senior Item 300 is suitable for Young Adult, Adult and Senior
I want to be able to arrange the attributes vertically so that the attributes can be filtered. I'm thinking the easiest way to do it is to duplicate each row as many time as there are attributes and copy each attributes to a single Market column.
