When Starting Number Reaches Zero It Starts To Count In Minus
Mar 8, 2014
I am having trouble setting up my cycle count spread sheet. For instance if my starting number is 1000 and when it reaches 0 or below it starts to count in minus when I just want it to automatically reset to 1000
I'm trying to develop a new daily timesheet for my production workers, where non-production items are recorded in 15 minute intervals. The user would put in "Clock in" by the corresponding time, and the same for "Clock out" at the end of the day. Any non-production items will be type in next to their appropriate time. Since clock in and clock out times will vary, I need to set up a formula that searches the array of cells for the day, finds the "Clock in" and "Clock out" values, and counts any blank cells in between them. Basically the blank cells will equal production time, and the result of the Count function will be multiplied by 0.25 to get the hours.
I am having a very difficult time finding a way to set the "Clock in" and "Clock out" cells as the range for the Count function, because it won't always be the same cells. What would be the best way to automatically have excel find the cells containing these values and set them as the range criteria for a Count function?
The formula at the bottom was one of my initial attempts, but it didn't work. I took out the '=' for the screenshot, so that wasn't the problem.
way to do this in plain excel (no macros, I have sufficient knowledge to do it in VBA but certain circumstances do not allow me to).
I want to insert a relative formula into a cell based on a condition.
For instance, I have a number N=10 (changeable). And the following cells with corresponding formula: A1=1 A2=A1+1 A3=A2+1 ........
Is there a way to automatically insert that relative formula to the next cell until its value is larger than N? I don't want to use IF and then copy to 65000 rows either, it will create blank cells that I don't want to be there (and it affects the printout as well as the scroll on the right).
I have a table array which shows me that amount of each I have in each spot. What I need is a warning to auto popup when it reaches a certain number. I need this for many different cells. So if cell m20 changes from 3 to 2 it should popup and say only two xx are available and keep going down from there.
I have data that I am trying to sort that starts with a number and contains a number within, then sometimes ends with a letter. Here is the dataset I will use as example.
Is there a formula that I can use to sort the data in numerical order by the last digits exactly like the first dataset? There are all sorts of veriations of the first digits and the last, but the "-TP-" always remains constant.
I'm trying to figure out a count feature where the count will restart back to 1 if the value changes in another cell ? For example.
A1 contains a persons ID number and there are hundreds of rows and columns that contain other data. I want to be able to count each row (looking at the persons ID number) but when it reaches a new person, the count starts over again?
How would I verify a postcode format that starts with a number followed by one or two letters, space, number, letter, letter, if correct displays correct if incorrect displays incorrect
I would like to create a vba script when ran an input.box comes up and asks you to "enter number you want to start numbering from" and when the number is entered in the input box. e.g "7654", excel starts numbering each cell in column A from 7654 until there is an empty cell in column B.
I created a UserForm in which the user inputs data and then press "OK" in order to save an output into a specific worksheet. Once the "OK" button clicked, the UserForm repeats itself with some textboxes in blank so that a new output can be generated.
I am trying to display in a Label of the UserForm the number of times the "OK" button is clicked BUT starting from one. In other words, before pressing "OK" the Label indicates "unit no1" and once the "OK" button is clicked it should go "unit no1 +1" and so on.
For that purpose, I am using the following code:
[Code] ......
The label displays Unit nº1 when starting (which is right). However when I click the OK button it still displays "unit nº1" and then it starts counting normally.
The thing is that it should display "unit nº2" from the 1st "OK" click.
Month to Start - is a combobox with 12 months, next is Month to go back - is a textbox, here specifying number of months to go back.I need to store month names by minus the existing month - number in a textbox
eg: if Month to Start is 'September' and Month to go back is 2, then what i need is September & August in an array or separate variables.
I now need to add in the variable of holidays and other days off. This is where I am loss. I do have a list of the weekdays that we did have class and a list of when we didn't
I have a column of numbers which have the - sign at the back end of the number instead of the front. What would be the easiest way to turn that into a negative number without manually keying each one?
Not something I've ever had to do before as i generally work with data sheets, i'm creating a document to print but need the page number to start from a set value and not default "1" of "10" etc,
I need it to start from say "5" of "15" rather than the "1" of "10",
Its simple to do in Word, but like i say not something I've ever had to think about in Excel.
I have a spreadsheet where I track resources needed on a project. Each resource that is selected in the resource column has a corresponding % avg and an average number of months where the resource is used. % Avg and # of Months are found in a different worksheet.
What I am looking to do is, for example: if resource A will be on the project starting in May 2015 and assigned at 30% for 7 months, I want to populate 30% starting in the colunm labeled May 2015 and copy the 30% so that a total of 7 months are populated. Also, if any of the values change (i.e: the Resource Name or the Start Month) I want to erase all the percentages that were entered in the row. How can I achieve that with a VBA code? I have formulas that retrieve the # of Months and the % Avg already.
These are the columns that I have in my spreadsheet:
However, I want to use this same function in another place, without the limit set on the cells that will be cleared.
What I would like to do is send the formula the cell to start at (E14), offset that by one column, and then send a number of rows. With that, create the range to be cleared.
I want formula which can automatically populate the amount based on the number of months starting from the date vehicle is received. For Eg.
Nissan patrol Rent is AED 5800/- per month & we deliver it on month Sept 2011 for 24 months then i want excel to automatically populate AED 5800/- for next 24 months starting from Sept 2011.
We're trying to use one template to enter data with users being able to start entry from a number of different starting points. this changes they way the look-ups have to work. The attached sample explains it a whole lot better.
In 1 cell i need a forumla to give me a starting number and take one away each time a code or codes are dislayed in a cell range. Something like this
A1 = 23 days or any number days i needed
Cell range B1:C52
every time a selected 1 or 2 letter code appears in the cell range i want A1 to subtract 1 day from the starting number, i would need it to subtract half a day if one code appears ie HD, the codes may be P, OT, HD
I have tried to figure out how to count all cells in a column and subtract any cells that contain characters with a red font. I'll attach an example. I need code that will work in VBA so that in the case that the column does not contain any cells with red numbers it won't come up with a debug error.
In excel I normally do this manually with this formula: =count("") I normally highlight all cells except the red ones. See attachment for example.
Also, the # of rows is never the same. Some files will be 100 rows, some will be 1000, depending on the store's file we get. so the code would probably have to contain something like .lastactiverow or something.
I was wondering if anyone knows how I could enter a date in one cell, then another date in a second cell and in a third cell have it have it so it minuses the first date from the second and calculates the difference outputted in number of days.
is it possible to display the week number of todays date (today()) from a physically entered start date (which would obviously be week one), the start date would be november 4th 2013.
I'm wanting a function to display the largest number starting with 7,8 and 9.
I have a list of 4 digit numbers, beginning 7,8, or 9, and want 3 different cells.
I need: One displaying the largest number in the group starting with 7. One displaying the largest number in the group starting with 8. And one displaying the largest number in the group starting with 9.
Could I make use of an IF function and the MAX function?
Something like: M20: =IF("1st digit = 7", "display the largest of the list") M21: =IF("1st digit = 8", "display the largest of the list") M22: =IF("1st digit = 9", "display the largest of the list")
I've used =MAX(H5:H75), but this always displays the top "9" number.
I want something so I can show the top 8xxx number, and the top 7xxx number too.
I need to count the number of equal cells in col D beginning at the top of the column. The counted cells must begin with a text prefix of "Category:" without the quotes.
Some but not all of the cells in col D begin with a prefix of "Category:" without the quotes, followed by a word or words following the word "Category:" See examples below. All of the terms prefixed with "Category:" in col D are in alphabetical order. I need to count the number of identical cells in col D with the "Category:" prefix.
Examples of the contents of cells in col D with the "Category:" prefix are as follows:
Cells above and below cells with a prefix of "Category:" in col D are not adjacent.Cells above and below cells with a prefix of "Category:" in col D are separated by 3 to an undermined number of rows.
I need to count the number of equal cells in col D and insert the count in col A at the last equal term. For example, col A above would have 93, 1, 1, 5, 10, 8, 3, and 12 inserted into col A.
going down are stores a, b, c, d.... what i'm filing in across is the square feet of each store and what quartr or year each store came into place. so there will either be a 0 or a number Now, I want to be able to count the number of nhew stores each quarter. how do i create a formula that just recognizes it the first time there is a number and not a zero... because i will put the square feet in subsequent quarters after it opens so i can see yearly how many square feet the store had. then also, how can create a button on the page that will say quarterly numbers and a button that is annual. so that i can hide the quarterly columns and just see an annual spreadsheet... and for the quarterly button so i can hide the annuals and just see the quarters....
