For eg 5-jan-11, 10-apr-11, 18-feb-12 etc
I want a formula in a cell to count only the entries for the year 2012

Feb 22, 2007I have been using the wrong formula to count total entries in columns and only just found this error. The MAX formula in cell B4 is: =MAX($B$12:$B$36). If the all the rows are full within range F12:F36, then the MAX formula is fine to count the total within range B12:B36 (25) so I thought. But sometimes there are omissions between F12:F36. If there are 2 blank cells anywhere within F12:F36 for example, then B4 needs to show 23 respectively. In the sample WkBk B4 needs to show 8

May 31, 2008I am working on an excel sheet where I enter dates for registered events. I need to count the number of days registered for any month. For example, Column B contains date of event, column C contains number of events for that particular date.
I need to get the following results:
- How many dates registered in the Month of January (or any month), I assumed this is the number of dates that were entered for the month January.
- How manu events registered in the Month of January (or any month), I assumed this is the sum of the numbers in column C that match the dates of the month January.
I need the formula for this example because I have other counts I need to calculate per month, such as number of people registered, etc.
Inventory Count :: Last/current Year & Warehouse
Jul 24, 2009I've got these inventory numbers that I've been working with.
Last years Usage and this years usage combined per warehouse for each item.
Plus another sheet that has On-Hand counts per warehouse for each item.
What I'm trying to do is pull my usage count per item per warehouse and place it all on different sheets so that I can compare numbers and do a few different things.
On my data sheet I have the warehouse number, in my example, "TOT.", 0100, and 0101. In the next column is the item # and on the end is the total used for that item by that warehouse.
On my the individual warehouse sheets I have the warehouse number, and the item # and some other things.
What I need is someone to look for the warehouse name "TOT.", 0100, or 0101 and then find the Item # and get the total used from the total column. If it wasn't used or does exist then I need 0 to appear.

Suggested formula input: DaysInYear(Date1,Date2,Year)
Examples:
DaysInYear(3/3/2005,3/3/2006,2006) should return 62 (31 in Jan, 28 in Feb and 3 in Mar.)
DaysInYear(3/3/2005,3/3/2007,2006) should return 365

Is there a formula I can use to count the total number of cells with only numbers in against other criteria too? I can use Sumproduct for 2 criteria but can't figure out how to do the 3rd.

Feb 24, 2007I am hoping this can be done with formulae. Starting at C7 and continuing down the C column there is a list of names which could potentially run from C7 to C5000. This list of names will contain duplicates. For each name there is a corresponding 'reason' in the F column which will contain the word 'Truancy' or 'Late'.
I need a formula that can count the number of UNIQUE names in the C column which correspond to the word 'Truancy' or 'Late' in the E column.
An example,

May 11, 2013I am trying to count dates from a list using sum product (I found the formula via google) I have plugged it into my spreadsheet but it does not seem to be calculating correctly.
I have attached the spreadsheet too : sumproduct_Error.xlsx

I am expecting a count of all the dates in January 2008 with the formula above.

Count All Year To Date Values That Have Evaluation Result
Jun 24, 2008I'm trying to find a formula that will give me a count of all programs by month that have an evaluation result. So, in column A1:A24 I have a list of programs with. In cell A25, I have the total number of programs. In column B1:B24, only 7 of those programs have evaluation results, some of the rows are blank.
I know that I can get a sum of the programs by month, but how do I only get a count of those with an evaluation result? What formula can be used to get a year to date (a running count), not a count based on 12 months? Meaning that we would need a year to date for each month, so currently for October to June (based on fiscal). If we based it on year to date, then I think we would have to divide be 12 and that would make the results inaccurate.

Aug 12, 2014What I am having trouble with is after making a data validation list in a column, I need to count each separate list entry and display it in a "totals" column. The drop down list has 4 entries yes, no, blank, and pending. The formula must count which value has been selected from the list and return it to a cell same as the COUNTA. I.E. 100 rows in the SS 50 are yes, 25 are no, 20 are pending, and 5 are blank.

I want a formula that allows me to see how different dates Mr X has visited in each month. So in August he has visited 8 times BUT only on 5 different dates.
In the case of Mr Y I want the formula to give the answer 5 (even though he has visited 6 times in total, he has visited on only 5 different dates).
In the case of Mr X in September, the answer to the formula would be 2, since has visited on 2 different dates in September.
Getting Excel To Count Text Entries

1) Type in a text data in a predesignated entry box
2) Excel automatically inserts that text into a table
3) If that text is already in the table, then adds a counter next to it (or increases the counter by one)
4) Excels then clears the text data in the entry box
Basically, I want to tabulate the number of times a specific entry comes up, and it would be much faster if I can just type it in, press enter, and let excel do the rest. It would be ideal if I can also add a date to that entry, so the data table comes up to something like a date vs the entries table, and the intersection would be the number of times each entry comes up on that day.

I want to have a function that counts the number of times each word appears, so in the cell next to each entry for "Superman" it would say 3, for "Bird" 2 etc. If I add another "Superman" it should then change to 4 next to each entry. Also, I will be adding new words all the time, so the function needs to be able to cope with that too.
Min / Max And Count Of Entries By Sales Person
Jan 7, 2014I have some data, similar to below which is sales data for each sales peson in my firm. The info I have is the name, the quoted value and the sold value. I estimate by the end of the month I will have over 400-500 entries so dont want to do this manually.
I have been able to use the sumif function to tell me the totals that each sales person has sold and quoted.
Now I want to work out the
min and max that each sales person has quoted and sold
and
The number of sales each sales person has had
Are there formulas to do this?
Ive looked at the min/max functions but I believe they will only give me the min and max for all of the quoted and sold whereas I want this by sales person.
I have also looked at the count function but this will only provide a count of the entire number of sales and quoted, again I want this by sales person.

Column AG2:AG367 represents last year and contains the same and all cells have a value (some are zero).
The date column is A2:A367 (the columns in between are all the years prior to 2013).
I need a formula that counts the total number of cells with a value greater than zero for the range AG2:AG367 up to and including today's date to be returned in cell A1 of Sheet 1.
