I have =(D4-C4)<40 (if the difference is 40 or less then color the font orange) but if the difference is 0 or a negative, I need it to do nothing. I don't know how to do the nothing part. I tried using the IF but couldn't figure out how to make the true format the color
I need to make an IF statement that when it's true it need to retrieve the values from a different column. With what function is it possible to just retrieves values?
I need to return the value from pivot table. Forgot to mention this.
I wish to do the following & and am struggling (attempted to do it in Conditional Formatting but have not succeeded)
I want to do the following :-
If the date in cell A1 has no date entered i.e blank then fill D1 in Yellow If a date in cell B1 is past then fill Cell D1 Red If a date in cell C1 is entered with a date(any) then fill D1 in Green
My industry works with public money and must account for it perfectly. The formulas that are in use with my estimating spreadsheet are creating rounding problems due to formulas carrying out numbers to many decimal places. When I then shorten them to currency they appear to round up but when you multiply these numbers they give incorrect totals due to still being many decimal places. How can this be fixed so that the cells are permanently rounded?
I have a multi-worksheet workbook that has many forms control checkboxes throughout it. I'm looking for some VBA that will change the background (fill) color of ALL the checkbox when it is checked (True). I've seen code for a single checkbox, but not multiple/all boxes. I know just enough VBA to be dangerous, but I'm up to learning anything new.
Here is the qtn if two cells A1 and A2 has "ab 1" and "ab 2" the answers for comparing cells should be true as both cells has first 2 letters as alphabets then space followed by numeric..format of cells is same.
I need to be able to enter text in a box, and from that box the formula looks at the text to see if it is in within strings of text in any other box in the entire spreadsheet. If the text is there, the box needs to turn green (or any color). If not, it stays the same. The catch is I need the formula to be in a separate box, and the Entered text will be in a blank cell, so the user (who is excel illiterate) will not be confused by the odd formula.
Example:
B1, B2, C2, D4, and D6 will have the items: XXX, YYY, ZZZ B3 and B4 will have only: YYY
In the "search box" the user will enter XXX
B1, B2, C2, D4, and D6 turn green, while B3 and B4 stay as normal.
If they enter YYY in the search box, all of them turn green.
What I want is to make date formatted cells change color based on a parameter related to the date. For example, turn to red 7 days before the date in the field, and back to green when the date has passed, or when it is changed (updated).
It's basicaly a payment reminder, so if this is not exactly possible, are there any other ways to do it? Maybe the cell turns red on a predetermined date each month, and back to green on another date?
I like to make my numbers with no decimals, with a comma. This means I have to constantly press a number of buttons to put them in the format I want. Not too big a deal but is there a way I can make one of the buttons in the number group default to the way I want the numbers to appear?
I need to find the last row of data where there is data in Column F. I then need to select from that row the cells that pertain to A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, & M and then be able to make format changes like increase font size.
I also then want to select A in that same row and put the word Total.
I have a worksheet where I have around 300 rows, each with 7 columns. What I want to do is add a checkbox to each column. I plan on setting non-applicable checkboxes to mixed status and locking the worksheet. I will unlock applicable checkboxes and sumif or countif their value according to row-based scoring, for example, each checked checkbox represents a value of 3. I do not know VBA and have chose to use the form control checkboxes rather than ActiveX.
I believe that a formula for this would be something like: =SUMIF(B1:B3,True,"3") or =COUNTIF($B$1:$B$3,True)*3
I am wondering firstly if I have that right and secondly if there is a way to stop my checkboxes from displaying labels. Currently, if I click on one it displays True behind the active checkbox. If I uncheck it, it displays False.
I have a spread sheet with a date colume that reads: 2012-06-27-19 I need to have this read like 06/27/2012 but nothing I do is working I have tried to go to the formatting process and backing the hr:mm out and that doesn't work. I really don't want to go line by line to manually correct this issue.. HENCE ... over 2000 lines
Second question: If I have a column that reads 02/15/2012 and another column that reads 3/27/2012 how to a format a 3rd column to make it read total number of days between 1st date and 2nd date?
I would like some assistance please. What I want to do is search down column H and every time there is a yes in the cell highlight the full row in color, for example from A23:H23.Can this be done with an if statement/conditional formatting?
Is there a way, WITHOUT VBA, to have a cell turn color if a user overlays a function with a value. Using conditional formatting or an easier way if possible, I would like to have any cells that the user overlays with a number to have a different background color.
I know I could use an event-driven macro but am trying to find a function that can check a cell to see if it contains a formula (or function) or a value.
I am trying to use Options>View - Zero Values.", "style="background: #FFFFFF;padding: 2px;font-size: 10px;width: 550px;"");' onmouseout='GAL_hidepopup();'>formatting.htm" target="_blank">Conditional Formatting to change the cell color based on wether the content is an even number or an odd number. Actually it is an even or odd date but I figure that it will read the date as it's serial number and that would be a number. I thought I would use something like "Formula is: =MOD(VALUE,2)" but I can't get it to work. I'd like to be able to do this without using the Analysis Toolpack. Even though ISEVEN seems like it might be a good solution.
I have a Timesheet where I am trying to get Saturday and Sunday to auto fill with a certain color whenever the month is changed. The spreadsheet is setup so that if the month is changed in a specified cell, then the dates of that month auto fill down a specified column. I would like Saturday's and Sunday's to be a certain color without having to manually color fill them every time the month is changed. Is there a formula or macro for this. I have tried setting up conditional formatting but I don't know how to get the color to follow Sat&Sun. I have attached the spreadsheet.
I set format condition in range by tool bar(=if formula is yes then display cell.interior.colorindex=3), but I have no idea how to find out (.address) the red colour cells are displayed in range with VBA?
I'm trying to format the color of a certain cell, if two values match.
A1=100 B1="Choose"
I want to format B1 to color RED, if A1=any number, and B1="Choose".
B1 contains list-data where you can chose from different values.
So if A1 contains a value, and B1 has not been set a different value than "Choose", format B1 to RED. Which would indicate that you have to set a value for the rest of the worksheet to work.
I have a list of records that will eventually be used to create a pivot table. Sometimes an account number will be listed twice but instead of adding to the previous info, it needs to start a new record. I decided in these instances to mark the account number with a character (+). Even though the + will designate a separate record, I'd like it to be invisible.
Is there a way to automatically turn the font color white for only the +? Since I've automated the rest of the process using a macro, a VBA solution is fine.
