Array Formula Find Last Value In Column

I have 13 columns (C-O) of data that will span up to 1000+ rows. I want to put a single row of cells at the top of the sheet that will display the last row of data from all 13 columns. I want the row at the top to always represent the last row of data, which will always be the most current data.

Array Formula To Find The First Related Value

(Thread: Max array with multiple columns) I got the following array formula:

{=MAX((A45:A47=A28)*(B45:D47))}

Here, where the value in A45:A47 is equal to A28, the maximum value is pulled from the same row, within cells B45:D47.

e.g.

A28 = Apples

A45 = Pears
A46 = Apples
A47 = Bananas

B46 = 10
C46 = 20
D46 = 23

The formula returns 23.

This is great. However, in order to control for a potential situation that will arise, I need to adjust this to find the first matching value within the data set. I do not know what the MAX should change to in order to find the first matching value.

Using the above example, if the data was now:

A45 = Apples
A46 = Pears
A47 = Apples

B46 = 10
C46 = 20
D46 = 23

How do you get the formula to return 10?

The position of "Apples" will change, hence the need for an array formula.

Array Formula To Find Offset Value Based On Certain Condition?

I have three columns of Data. A is vehicle number, B is miles and C is a Date. I want to be able to pull the miles for the newest date when the user types in a bus number next to the formula. I think It can be done with an array formula but I am not 100% sure on how to do it. Also is it possible if they enter a vehicle number and a date that a different formula finds the miles for the most recent date to the date entered.

Find Largest Number In Array And Give Result As Column Heading

I'm trying to find the largest number in a row and then have the column heading (text) as the result. I can find the largest number by using =max(numb1, numb2 ....) but then how do I get the heading of the column as the result. An example of what I want to happen is below

Red
Green
Blue
Orange
Yellow
Result

I anticipate an issue where 2 columns have the same largest number and not sure how to over come this either with multiple answers

Copying Array Formula Down The Entire Column?

I have an array formula that I need to copy down the entire column. The formula is:

=SUM(IF(IF(K$2>=V3:V5,V3:V5-V2:V4,$K$2-V2:V4+1)>0,IF(K$2>=V3:V5,V3:V5-V2:V4,$K$2-V2:V4+1),0)*W2:W4)

I need the Row values to change, not the "array formula parts" (because I don't know what they really are called). So, as I copy down I need the new formula to read:

=SUM(IF(IF(K$4>=V3:V5,V3:V5-V2:V4,$K$4-V2:V4+1)>0,IF(K$4>=V3:V5,V3:V5-V2:V4,$K$4-V2:V4+1),0)*W2:W4)

The only way I've been able to do that is to rewrite the whole formula in the new row cell.

The simple table (attached) represents our problem.

We want the letter in Column-B that corresponds to the last non-zero entry in Column-A. So in the example provided, the answer will be cell B12 which is "L". Also, if there are blanks (rather than zeros) below the last non-zero entry, it still needs to work.

Find Column That Has Value And Put Formula In Cell

I had posted this earlier but it was moved. I think this post will explain it better. I put data into a worksheet called "Budget" each week. When I put the data in I type a date in Cell "BL7". In another sheet called "EV Report" row 8 has week ending dates (i.e. Sunday of each week). I want to run a macro after I change the date ("BL7") and data in the "Budget" sheet that will search row 8 of the "EV Report" sheet to find the date in cell "BL7" of the "Budget" sheet. Once it finds which column that date is in I want it to put a formula in row 13 of the same column (the one found based on the date of BL7) that will add the value in row 12 of the same column with the value in row 13 of the previous column.

I don't want the formula to be there until the macro is run. I'm doing this because I have a graph of the formula and I don't want the graph to show the other cells.

Worksheet Formula To Find End Of Column

I have a simple list of data on a worksheet. It is appended occasionally by the program user. The new data is always added to the bottom of the list so the list grows increasingly longer day after day.

There are a couple of formulas at the top of the worksheet that calculate statistics from the list. I'd like to make the formulas apply only to the last 25 rows of data. Basically, I need a way to make the ranges in the formulas automatically adjust themselves each time the list grows so they always use the last 25 rows of data.

I can do it using VB but I'd rather just build this into the formula on the worksheet if possible.

Converting 3x10 Array To A 1X30 Array To Run A Match Formula

Say I have 3 columns of data: A1:C10 and I want to run a Match() function on them all together to see if I get a match any one those cells, say the value of have in X1.

Since, Match only allows a One-Column lookup array.. is there a way to "concatenate" or "append" the 3 columns together within a formula so now I would be looking to Match in an array that is 1 column * 30 rows?

Basically want to convert =Match(X1,A1:C10,0) to =Match(X1,A1:A30,0) without moving around the raw data in the sheet.

And I want to avoid doing an AND or OR formula that uses 3 separate MATCH() for each column.

I have a hunch that the MMULT or MMULT/TRANSPOSE functions are involved, but can't seem to get it right.

Find Phrase In One Column And Apply Formula To Different Columns Same Row?

I am trying to come up with a macro that will find rows that contain the words �as % of Revenue� and then calculate and apply the appropriate formula to the actual and budget columns. I have attached a sample of what the source data look like.

The formula divides the category�s total expense by the revenue in row 4. For a complete macro, I would want to also subtract the budget result from the actual result and put its result in the �better (worse)� column. I need to use this on 12 or so different workbooks which is why I�m wanting a macro.

Here is my attempt to accomplish this task; however, I quickly realized it is woefully inadequate because I neither understand how to apply it to the different columns or how to find the next instance of �as % of revenue�).

I'm trying to find a formula that will find an original entry using 4 criteria original entry is cases ordered.

columns A,B,C,D will have to match then give me a result in column E to find original entry if there is one otherwise I will have to enter new row and original entry for cases ordered.

And if it doesn't find anything just return Not Found

The problem that a Vlookup is not working for me is because I want it to be the exact text from sheet2 column1 but in sheet1 column 1 it should not be exact as it might have some extra text as seen in the illustration above

VBA Find Partial String In Array And Output Found String Array Value?

I am trying to do a sort of index match thing using VBA. What I am attempting to do is to use the prefix of a long number and try to find that exact prefix in a string array, and output that string array value. So this is what I have so far as a test:

So I can match the text exactly so if I put PREFIXB in cell A1 in this example, i will get the msg box saying "YES", but if I make it PREFIXB1231k4j3jj1kj32cj, it will display "NO". I want to get it so that PREFIXB will be displayed in the cell that I put the formula in. So if A1 = "PREFIX1AAA100CF" and cell B1 = "=ABC(A1)", cell B1 will display "PREFIX1AAA".

Now the thing is that these prefixes can have different lengths, but will never encompass the exact prefix of another. So if I had a prefix of: PRE1AB, I won't have a prefix of PRE1A.

Find A Group Of Unique Rows- Find Non-zero Value In A Column - Fill Column With That Value?

There are groups of similar ID numbers in Column J. For a group of similar ID numbers in consecutive rows there is only one row that has a number greater than 0 in its Column L cell and the rest of the cells of Column L for that set of similar IDs is filled with 0s.

First for that unique ID group I need to find out which row is it that has a value greater than zero in its Column L cell.

Then I need to use that value to fill the rest of the 0s in Column L corresponding to that set of Unique IDs.

The process continues with identifying similar IDs in Column J and this time doing the same thing for their Column M. I have attached a sample file that shows the data and how the results need to look like.

Looking Up Row Array Data In Column Array

On one sheet (KPI) I have either the values "x" or "" in the range A84:A89 to mark wheter to use the corresponding project in the range B84:B89. On the sheet X-ref I have the same project names in range T4:Y4 and a corresponding target value in T8:Y8

What I want is the sum (or average) of the marked-projects target-values. The result should end up in KPI!G31.
In other words I want

=sumif(A84:A89;"x";'X-ref'!T4:Y4)

but it doesn't work since the first range is an column-array and the second range is an row-array.

Find A Value In Array?

I have a sheet (Lookups) of names like the following.

AA
BB
CC

I have another sheet (Values) where they could have the following variations.
AA 2
AA 3
AA3
BB12
BB2
etc..

What I want to do is write a formula where it looks at Lookups and returns that value if it finds it.
So AA 2 will return AA
AA 3 will return AA
BB12 will return BB
etc.

I am using IFERROR(LOOKUP(2^15,FIND(LOOKUPS!Range,VALUES!Cell),VALUES!Cell) and it returns either 1 or the Values!cell when it doesn't find it. What I need to find out is how to grab the position in my lookup rangte?

Nested Index / Match Array - Return Value In Column C When Matching Column A And B But With Few More Criteria

I am trying to use a nested INDEX and MATCH array formula to return the value in column C when matching column A and column B, but with a few more criteria.

The range containing all the data

I am looking for the array formula to return the name of the person in column C who is in Cat 1 after the date in column B.

For example;
C7 should return "John" because B7 requests "January 15, 2014", which is after the value in B1
C8 should return "John" because B8 requests "February 15, 2014", which is after the value in B1
C9 should return "Andrew" because B9 requests "August 15, 2014", which is after the value in B4

The best try I had for the formula in C7 was

{(INDEX($A$1:$C$4,MATCH(1,($B$1:$B$4>=B7)*(A$1:$A$4=A7),0),3))}

This brings back "John" as desired in C7, but when copying down the table into C8 and C9 both C8 and C9 return Andrew.

I guess this is due to my ">=" condition in the Match formula and it is returning "Andrew" because "Andrew" is also after the date requested, but I cannot for the life of me work out how to get it to work.

Find Minumum Value Array

I have this formula: (an array formula)

=MIN(IF(cover!C$10:C$1047=C4,IF(cover!T$10:T$1047=A4,cover!F$10:F$1047)))

It does the trick to give me the minumum value in column F, based on the constraints in columns C and T.
What I need is the formula to return the Value in Column Q based on these same constraints. So, once the formula finds the minumum value in Column F, it should return whatever is in column Q.
