Copy Column Rows From One Workbook To Another Based On Matching Value

Copy rows from one Sheet to another based on a separate cell value But specifically, I am trying to copy row values from Columns C through column Z in Worksheet 1 of file POHeader.xlsx to row values Columns N through AK in file POReceiv.xlsx when the (Purchase Order #) values in Column A of each file match.

The reason is behind this is - one file has the unique Purchase Order number as the key without associated parts and the other file has the associated part number as the key with purchase order number attached.

I don't know whether I need to use VBA or if I can just use an index and match function.

I have a spreadsheet and I was wondering if there is a way to copy from a specific range in say A1:A5 in Sheet1 and paste into Sheet2 where the column matches cell A1 in Sheet1.

Copy Rows To Workbook Into Rows Matching Date

I have 2 workbooks.

The first one (Top Ten Auto Generator.xls) ( Sheet is Summary) has 1 row (13) with 4 cells that have data. A13 with date (today formula), B13, D13, and E13 are numbers. The cell range will be the same each time the data is copied (the workbook has a marco to generate the numbers each day already).

The date doesn't need to be copied, just the other 3 cells data (in the same order) using paste special.

The workbook that needs the cell data is a report ( Dashboard.xls) that has lots of different departments each using 3 columns for their specific data. The left most column A is the date listing to match.

The column Range for my department on that "Raw Data" sheet is "H", "I", & "J" where the "H" would get the data in "B13", "I" would get "D13", "J" would get "E13" for the date that matches the other workbook.

So the way it would work, is that once the vba is run the 3 cells from the auto generator are copied, then the vba opens the dashboard.xls and looks for the date in column A which matches the other workbooks A13 date value, and then the cells are pasted into that row, but in column H, I, & J.

Here's sort of some code that I put together to see if that would be easier to understand. I'm new at doing the vba so I don't have better code.

I have a seperate worksheet for each different name (about 100), and I wanted to know if there was a way to select all the information relating to the name "vodafone" for example, and to copy and paste that into the worksheet called vodafone. The problem is copying and pasting 100 times would take ages and wanted to know whether there is an easier way using VBA.

I have been struggling to setup these two workbooks for a bit now, and I can't for the life of me figure out a formula to do what I need to do. Essentially, I have one workbook that contains a list of purchase records for my company, sortable by Date, Vendor, Price, etc. and one workbook that has a sheet for every vendor. What I need is a formula that will search column B for a vendor, Allied Waste for example, and transfer all the information within the rows for every instance that vendor is found to the new workbook.

This is basically just a way where I can input information once in one workbook, where the sheets are divided by month, and the info will automatically transfer to another workbook, where the sheets are divided by vendor.

I have done so, but now I need to copy those rows indicated by a "No" to another worksheet (ideally I would like to have those rows printed out directly, but I can do that from another worksheet. I have tried AutoFilter and Sort, but that is not giving me what I want or expect. I'm using excel 2003. I would like to select and copy rows of data within a worksheet of a workbook and then paste those rows into a newly created excel workbook. That is the easy part. The complication is that I would like the macro to select the rows based on a particular string value that will be impossible to specify in a fixed way (i.e., it will change from project to project). Let's say the variable that distinguishes the rows is location, so some are from Tokyo, some New York, and some from Paris. Using vba, how can one 'splice' the data into (in this case, three) seperate workbooks based on the string/values of another variable?

I am familiar with auto-filter, but in this case, I really do need to create seperate workbooks, rather than apply calculations to a selection of the data.

I have a single sheet that lists available items, prices, etc. When doing quotes, you simply put y/n in Col:A for each item. I then want a simple macro that will copy all of the rows with "yes" into a second sheet. Sample data with end result attached.

I did try and butcher this macro to do what I want, and whilst it does copy data across, it's not really working. Firstly as I think it is searching along a row and copy columns, whereas I need to search a column and then copy rows.

I have a row of numbers that change as they go up. I will have 2 rows of numbers that will range from 1's all the way to 9's (B through BO) I will have different letter sequences that I will be entering as the criteria in column F either on the Up and Down sheet or the Even and Odd sheet. When I say different sequences. This is 1 group of letters. The next group of letters in column F will be in a different order. They will always be a U and D in one and E and O in the other but in row 13 it may have a U or D and it will be the same all the way down. The object is for me to be able to place the letters in either column F from rows 13 to 60, place 2 rows of numbers in rows 58 and 59, press the advance cell in G1 and it it populates all across the spreadsheet from I to BO. I will get all different number sequences since I am starting with a different number in rows 58 and 59. I have all the letters color coded and they move up based upon the color of the letters in row 1. If there is a green E in column M then I will be the column that the number advances from 1111 to 2111. If there is a green O then column K will advance up from 1111 to 1121.

The conditional formatting is very important so I need to have the green font with gray shade and red font with yellow shade [URL]....

I have on sheet1 of my workbook a number of rows of data, from column A through Column G. The Data in column G either contains the text "Yes", or "No".

I need a macro that will look through each row in this sheet, and upon finding a "Yes" in the cell in the column G, will copy that entire row (columns A through G) into a new row in sheet2. Sheet2 currently contains data, so I'd like to move everything down by one row and paste this data at the top (row 6 is the first line of data on this sheet).

I'd then like to go back to sheet 1, and delete the row I've just copied. Then continue though the loop. The loop needs to stop when a blank row is discovered.

I'm not sure that I'll be able to explain this clearly, so I've attached an example. There are 3 columns - Issue, Action Group and Status. Many Issues belong to the same Action Group and others do not belong to any Action Group. The is also a Status summary section that has the total Issues and Actions associated with each status. For example the Status called Resolved could have 10 issues and 5 Actions (including blanks). The problem is that I can't figure out a way to get the total for the Actions. setup a vba code to find values which were separated by a certain value, thus there would be pairs of numbers sought after. What occured was that the first value is bolded, followed by the second not bolded, this pair would be separated by 75. Now I want to apply the same code, but instead of copying just the two cells which were separated to someone on the current sheet, I would like it to copy the entire row (as there is more data associated with it now) with the same bold/not bolded pairing to a new sheet, called "Numbers". I would imgine it be straight forward, yet I am very new to this and still tinkering.

I have used marcos to create two worksheets and need to compare each row of the first three columns in each worksheet to find any rows which non-matching data. I am comparing retrieved data (Worksheet1) against a master list (Worksheet2) to ensure the retrieved data was entered correctly. The three columns of data include Manufacturer, Lot number and Date.

The row in which the matches will occur is random. The three values from the retrieved data only have to find a match somewhere in the master list. I can place both the retrieved data and the master list side-by-side on the same worksheet if that would make things more efficient for running the comparison.

The non-matching rows, if found, will be copied over to another worksheet along with its corresponding row in columns "D" and "E" found in Worksheet1. The additional data alerts me to the location where the data was entered incorrectly. The master list does not have any location data in it.

I'm trying to eliminate any .select or .activate from my code to speed things up and reduce screen flicker. At the moment, I have a sheet created at the click of a button. Basically for every date exclusive of weekends, there are 4 entries, for each date there are the following entries AM Metro, PM Metro, AM Regional, PM Regional. The user wants to be able to change the date range in the "overview" sheet and when there is data already in the other columns for these matching rows, have the input sheet update with old (copied??) info, if no previous data then add all 4 rows and sort... if previous date not in date range then delete entire row.

I need to track only certain tasks id's out of entire task id database. I have 1 column of data on sheet "A" that represents task id's I want to track. On sheet "B" I have multiple columns of data, the first column being the task id's. I need to compare the column on sheet A with the first column on sheet B. If there is a matching task id, I need to copy the entire row of data from sheet "B" on to a new sheet "C". If there is no matching task id on sheet "B", I would like to copy just the task id. Each week I would get a new set of data for sheet "B" (which can vary in length) and I need the ability add or subtract task id's on sheet "A" that need tracking. Highlight Non Matching Rows Based On Conditions

I am having a problem finding or creating a macro for what i am needing to do. I have a workbook with 2 worksheets (2 months july and august) to figure out a billing process.

I need to be able to First of all search each value in Column A on sheet 2 (august) to Column A on sheet1 (July).

My sheet is set up like this where ID is a buyer and Products 1,2,3...are if they have purchased that product from us

Both worksheets are very similar but August may have some changes from July such as new ID's and changed prduct purchases. What I need to do is have each ID in Column A be compared to Column A in the July sheet, but it may not always be the same cell (because of new ID's added they are moved around)..so it need to search for the same ID first then compare. Once it finds the ID, I then need it to compare the rest of the row (the product info) for that ID to see if any products were added or changed to determine billing. And for any changes that are found in the comparison, I need them to be highlighted.

Now in the case that a new ID was added...it wont be in the July sheet, so the whole row would need to be highlighted to notify of a new ID and new billing needs to be added.

This way the billing person can look at the sheet, see the highlited changes and see what is new or needs to be added to a previous ID's billing. Currnelty they are looking at it manually to see if there are changes.

I am trying to copy a row based on the value of a cell.

I have two sheets in my workbook and on sheet 1, I have a part number and a description. On sheet 2, I have part numbers again, but this time I the description is broken up into the format I need.

What I am trying to do is have excel search on sheet 2 for the part numbers, then copy the information that corresponds to the part number into the correct column.

I have tried using Vlookup. But if the part number in row 2 on sheet 1 match the one in row 8 on sheet 2, this will copy over the data from row 2 whereas I need row 8.

If this would be more doable using VBA, that is fine by me. I haven't been able to figure out anything in VBA or in excel formulas up to this point.

Show Rows With Matching Cells In A Column

I have a sheet with some survey data. the data covers about 4 months. There are about 2200 rows and 8 columns.

The "code" could be in there more than once as the person took the survey multipule times, but all other data is different. How can i pull out the whole row when the code is there more than once.

I want to know all the "codes" with multipule entries that took the survey more than once then trend there scores.

Copy Matching Cells In Series From Column

in writing a macro that does the following.

Right there data in cell A1 lets say LTP BY001 and then the next data in column A is LTP BY002 in cell A9. What I need to do is copy LTP BY001 from cell a2-A8 and then LTP BY002 From A10 until LTP BY003 appears lets say A15. Therefore need LTP BY002 copying from A11-A14. I need that to go right the way down the workbook at everytime their is a number change.
