Count Rows Meeting Multiple Criteria Of Multiple Values
Aug 10, 2009I am trying to find a formula to count rows that meet multiple criteria, but one of the criteria can be multiple values. I have a list of people with a list of clients that they are responsible for. Each person is responsible for 10-20 clients. Every day I run a report that shows the project worksheets submitted for each client and if money has been awarded or not.
I'm wondering if there is a way to count, for each person, the number of project worksheets that show "awarded" in column K. That would mean that I would have to look for, for each person, any of their multiple clients in column B and "awarded" in column K.
I am trying to put the formula in D2:D9, as I use A2:D9 for a chart. O1:P79 contain the names of the people and the applicants that they are responsible for. A17:D158 contains the list of project worksheets (updated daily). I used =SUMPRODUCT(COUNTIF(B17:B999,P1:P14)) to count the actual number of project worksheets for each person, but I can't figure out a way to modify that to add in the "awarded" criteria also.
Count Values From Multiple Sheets?
Apr 8, 2013I need to count values from multiple sheets. My first sheet is called "ALL" and the other sheets are numbered "1 thru 20"
The cell I would like the counted data to appear is E9 on the "ALL" sheet
The data will be from sheets 1 thru 20 counted if row H (on all pages) says the word MED
I can get excel to do this on a single page but across multiple pages I keep getting value errors.

What I am trying to figure out is how to populate cells N4:N5 and N8:N9 for unique locations by Fruit & Vegtables by Area A and Area B. I just have some basic data for this example as the spreadsheets are 30,000+ lines long.

Dec 11, 2009I have a spreadsheet with two different rating scales (People & Business) that have a value of 1-5 per person. From this I created another column 'Sorter' that gives a person a single value of 1-25 (5*5 possibilities from the two rating scales.) I am trying to place people into a table based off of the column 'Sorter' as shown in columns U-Y. The real table cleaned up is in the table tab.

Jan 20, 2014I need a way to find a value in a column which has one or more corresponding values in an adjacent column. Then take all of the corresponding values found and count all occurrences of the found values in another column. But I only want to count the entries if an adjacent column is not blank.
Not the easiest thing to describe. Starting to wonder if I need to think in reverse. I hope the attached example makes more sense.

Jun 30, 2014I am trying to count the number of rows on sheets 11 To 2 in my workbook. I want to count the rows (excluding the header) on each sheet one at a time and place them on a "Summary" Sheet. So for example. The row count for Sheet 11 would go in cell B2 of the "Summary" Sheet. The row count for Sheet 10 would go in cell B3 on the "Summary" tab. The row count for Sheet 9 would go in cell b4 on the "Summary" Tab. I have taken a crack at the sub procedure but can't get the syntax and/or the logic correct.

This is currently counting the number of times a date value (data column I) appears for that name (A4:A19) in the data when meeting all of the conditions. I need it to instead count the number of times a unique date appears for that name with the additional conditions met (which all appear to work fine).
The results in the pink highlighted cells (Summary column D) should be:
Names starting with A - 3
All others - 2
I've left some other columns in the data with X's so that I can easily convert this back to my working spreadsheet.

Have tried multiple COUNTIF statements and have tried using pivot table (Excel 2010) both only give me total counts for all. I think I need an OR statement somewhere, but not sure where?
In other words, if a single record has an "any" in the any fields or a "yes" in the yes fields, I want to to count that as one record.

Count Unique Logs With Multiple Conditions Of Multiple Sheets
Oct 8, 2007I've got no clue about all this, but I've had to get specific formula examples and fill in the blanks in order for my timesheet to work. There's just one final problem if somebody could please help.
This is a timesheet for a 5 day work week. I need to count the number of unique log numbers for a specific activity. The log numbers counted must be unique across the entire week, not just for each day, which means I want the formula to count the unique log numbers across multiple sheets.
The formula also has multiple conditions. I got 2 columns. The first part of the formula needs to verify a word, say, "split" and if it does it checks the adjacent cell for a unique log number. If both arguments are true, it counts the log as 1 unit.
Here is a working formula for only one page.
=COUNT(IF(D4:D29="split",IF(FREQUENCY(C4:C28,C4:C28)>0,1,)))
Here's 2 problems with this formula:
1. I will count if it encounters a blank cell in the Log numbers the first time (which will happen as not every activity we do has a log#), but it will stop counting if it encounters a second blank cell.
2. I don't know how to make it work across several sheets.
This is an alternate formula which works and skips the blank cells, but I don't know how to add the multiple condition of "split" and to have it work across multiple sheets. I just copied it Microsoft. As I said, I don't understand it, I just fill in the blanks.

Finding Multiple Values To Return Multiple Values

I want to search that column for various words (ie. wheel, screw, spacer, shelf, etc) and return a value into another new column depending on that value (wheel inputs wheel, screw inputs hardware, spacer inputs hardware, shelf inputs shelf).
How Excel shows you how to search will only return one value because I can't use an else statement:

Aug 2, 2013I am working on creating a spreadsheet that can be updated by those unfamiliar to excel. I have a master list on one sheet and three separate lists for business, individual, and general. Each list has three columns giving name, address and postal code. There are numerous repeats on these lists and I wanted to hide any duplicates while keeping my cells aligned. So far I have been able to highlight any duplicates, but was interested in some function that would save at least one duplicate while hiding any additional ones.

For instance I have in column A1:A15 the time periods from January 2011 to Dezember 2011, but I have some dates multiple times as there are more values attached to it. For instance I have in the first 4 rows January 2011...what I want is when someone puts in the value January 2011 in cell B1 and Dezember 2011 in cell B2 that the whole static file gets copied to another location (including the multiple dates) displaying the chosen time period. Similarly if someone puts in the value March 2011 to November 2011, I want only those values to be copied.

Using a formula, I want to count the number of rows which contain one or more of a number of options.

In the picture there are 6 or so clients: The columns to the right indicate with the letters A, B and C whether these individuals have traits 'A' 'B' or 'C'. So effectively I just want to count the number of clients(rows) which have one or more trait.

How To Count Top 10 Values
May 26, 2009I couldn't find the right formula for this... I'd like to sum top 10 values from a range of values in cells. Currently only way I can think of is to sort all the values first and then count the top 10 cells. But is there a way to find the top values with a automatic formula, which would fit to one cell?

Sum from top 10 values would be 96... But how to reach this with a formula?
