View 6 Repliesi have a excel file which has a formatted pivot table which displays customers by country in row A 2 down to 36 with approx 36 customers in the values field i have volumes by alarms and tickets along the column labels it shows the previous 7 days with date and then the alarms and tickets in each row. My problem is i am trying to find the code or location where i can change the only bring back 7 days data to another value. i have searched all connection properties and definitions. I know there is a value somewhere that allows you to change this number to say from 7 days to 30 days. If you click on the column labels for date it shows the dates back 3+ years but it still if i tick more than 7 days only show 7 in the table.I have image if needed
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently trying to create a database of products for my company. For each product I would like to include an image associated with it. I then want to have on another sheet a place where the user will click an error and be able to cycle through the products. As tehy cycle the associated image will pop up.
What I need to understand is after importing the image into excel, how do I associate that image to a cell so I can reference it in another sheet of the database. I am not concerned with how large the database will get, my pictures are quite small.
How do I create a Named Range that is dynamic (I think using the OFFSET function) that automatically expands and contracts as the rows and columns of my data changes?
Next step, I then want to use that Named Range as the source of the data for a PivotTable.
Yes, I know starting in Excel 2007 you can use Tables and don't need to create a dynamic named range. That is not an option at this time.
I want to set up daily charts to monitor various things but Im not sure how best to set up the data in order to do this so it calculates automatically as data is refreshed.
I want to run daily activity data that tells me how many people attend each room per day. the aggregated data would include:
Number of attendances, by room (there are 11 rooms), by day
Each attendance grouped by category of patient (up to 25 categories)
Each attendance by type of attendance (various groups)
How should I set up the data to show these things in a way that it can be linked to a text file and refreshed daily on opening? the data at the moment is in rows per attendance rather than grouped in any way.
I would like the data to have dates and months etc automatically genetared by the attendance date in order to graph the above indicators, as well as a % atttendance in relation to capacity per room etc
simple excel template that I could try to manipulate my data into so I can get started. The data is generates using a transact SQL query and saved as a text file which I wabt to use for the daily stats.
I'm using excel 2010 and I need a command button to add rows to the end of the dynamic table.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a workbook with 3 worksheets titled “Numbers”, “Letter” and “NumLtr DB”.
The “Numbers” worksheet is a dynamic listing of numbers in Column A, which also is a Dynamic Named Range using the formula: OFFSET(' Num'!$A$1,0,0, COUNTA('Num'!$A:$A),1)
The “Letters” worksheet is a dynamic listing of letters in Column A which also is a Dynamic Named Range using the formula: OFFSET('Ltr'!$A$1,0,0,COUNTA('Ltr'!$A:$A),1)
I need a macro to duplicate in column A, on the worksheet titled “NumLtr DB”, the first number down as many rows as are needed to equal the full count of letters, and then, in column B, list each letter in succession. This process needs to be repeated once for succeeding each number and then stop.
By adapting a worksheet macro obtained previously via Ozgrid, I built a workbook that dynamically produces a database, in a worksheet titled “NumLtrWBS DB”, based on all possible combinations of what is listed in column A of three 3 worksheets titled: “ Num”, “Ltr” and “WBS, respectively. The macro, named “NumLtrWBS", works wonderfully, until I add a row at the top of each list to contain a column header. The unchanged macro includes the column headers in the “produced” database. When I change the macro by altering the variable definitions to begin at A2 rather than A1, it still includes the column headers in the “produced” database. How should I change the macro so it doesn’t “produce” the column headers in the database worksheet?

I have the same issue but a bit more complex. In my case I have an additional amount of columns (let's say dimensions). So for the example given (sales per month) I would add two columns for 4 different regions and 5 machine types (just examples).
The output (that would serve as pivot tabel input) would then have to be a 4 x 5 x 12 x 4 = 960 row database table.
I have tried to accomplish it by customizing the given code but that provedto be beyond my powers ;o)
and some 3rd party software [url]and [url] but non of them is doing what I'm looking for.
The code I'm looking for ideally would count the number of columns and unique records per column and construct the database table from that. So I am looking for flexibility in the number of dimensions also...
I am currently pulling information from a database into Excel. In column A is a list of dates that vary depending on how many days I decide to pull. On any given day there are options to which car will be driven and it is random and there are attributes associated with that drive such as below. If the car was not driven the data pull inputs "No Data" or a "0". On any given day up to three cars can be driven but it is still possible that only one will be driven. This is shown in the second table below. I'd like to be able to create an automated summary table such as the first table below. The summary table should be organized by date and show what cars were driven and their attributes. I know this seems simple but in reality I have six different cars and up to 10 attributes for each car and will be pulling months at a time. The only thought I have had is to do a for loop that checks every individual cell but I am not sure how to implement that.

I have a dynamic table which is linked to a couple of charts. The table must remain dynamic.
I needed to add two new columns to the table, "Focus Area" and "Category". I need a drop down list in the "Category" column to be dependent on the item selected from a drop down menu in "Focus Area".
I can get the first row of the dynamic table to do this.... however; subsequent rows all lock the drop down list in the "Category" column to the same choices regardless of what is chosen in the "Focus Area" list.
Is there a way to make dynamic drop downs within a dynamic table?
I'm opening a non-excel file in excel and it formats it into a series of rows/columns. The problem I have is that it doesn't consolidate all related data in the same row, for each new column of data it breaks into a separate row. I'd like to easily roll it all up into a single row.
I've attached a sample file to illustrate. The "Original" sheet is what I'm starting with and the "Final" sheet is what I hope to condense the data into.
I have a pretty vast database which I populated through VBA from a certain number of worksheets. I now need to create a table which shows min, max and average for each location given x, y or z condition. So far I only approached it by creating a secondary table with each range address and then using INDIRECT, but this would require extra work on the database (insert a function to sort out locations alphabetically and within each Range.Location sort out by conditions (note. A, B and C are not in alphabetic order)) and is also very ugly.

1)what excel function should I use in order to find out the number of delivery since there are so many duplicate records in the database.
2) Shall I use "Pivot table" ?
Is there any lock/security option in excel sheets, suppose we make some table/list and after entering one data when the cursor goes to second raw, the previous raw data automatically lock. the user cannot edit or delete that record.

I have an Excel worksheet with one column being e-mail addresses. Other columns are Christian names, etc

Otherwise be able to send one e-mail to all the e-mail addresses, without a major re-type.

every month the new data is insert in a new sheet (of course with the

But the wizard, refuse to build a pivot table from data that is not

(My intention is not the option: "Multiple Consolidation Ranges".)

Copy D7 & H7
Copy C11 : H25 (Only Active Cells)
Paste To Sheets ("Sheet1")
D7 & H7 = Column A & B

I have seen some examples that come close on YouTube but can't find anything that does exactly this.
I would like not to have to update the source data for the pivot table in my database. I've read that you can solve this by using a Dynamic Named Range and using that as the source for the pivot table. That way the pivot table will expand as new data is added to the database.
