Excel 2003 :: Get Number Of Items Against Specific Department?
Sep 7, 2012
I'm trying to get the number of items against a specific department which are contained in a sheet called "data", the sheet is contained in the same workbook.
There are named ranges for
Department (text)
Date_From & Date_To (in the format dd/mm/yyyy)
Band (Numeric 1 to 3)
Items (Numeric)
Using the following formula I get an #NUM error (using Excel2003)
We have a spreadsheet set up showing a list of sales invoices, each invoice has the customer name and a customer reference assigned to it i.e B1, B2 etc
We want to set up another sheet that takes the sales invoice information but only picks up that which relates to a specific customer, i.e want a list of the invoices relating to B1
This will be done with a view to creating statements for each individual customer reference number which will just take info from these sheets B1,B2 etc
I some code that reduces a long list of dates from one source of data (in its own worksheet) down to a unique list of dates (on another worksheet). I need to create a new worksheet for each date in the range (named for the date), and then allocate each line item for that date in the source data into its repsective worksheet.
I am producing a spreadsheet that will track returned defects. Column B is where I input the department variable. In a new table on the same sheet I need a formula that will count department names and give me a total for the returns for each department.
I have a pivot table which I want to force the all of the pivot table items to be selected for a particular pivot table field. One would think that this would be as easy as unlocking all cells on the sheet with the exception of this pivot field and then locking the worksheet. This doesn't work though as I am generating multiple pivot tables on the same workbook for the same range and I get this message: "this command cannot be performed while a protected sheet contains another PivotTable report based on the same data source...".
My thinking is that I can do something along the lines of this:
Private Sub Worksheet_PivotTableUpdate(ByVal Target As PivotTable) Dim oPI As PivotItem Application.ScreenUpdating = False If Target.PivotFields("Item Sold").PivotItems.Count Target.PivotFields("Item Sold").VisibleItems.Count Then
[Code]..
This is failing right away though on the If Target.Pivot.... line.
For some reason, I cannot get why I keep getting an error saying that excel cannot set the property of a pivotitem's visibility. I use excel 2003.
Code: For Each pi In ActiveSheet.PivotTables("PivotTable1").PivotFields("Group Code Description").PivotItems check = pi.Name If check = group Then If pi.Visible = False Then pi.Visible = True
I am trying to create a macro that will change all pivot fields with a certain name to the value I have the master pivot changed to. For example, I have 5 pivot tables, which each contain the field "Fruit". I want to change the 1st pivot table to "Apples", "Oranges", and "Pears" as active values, and then run the macro, making the other fruit fields also have these values. I can do it for single items, but when I need to do multiple items, I get an error message. I'm not sure how to write in VBA in order to do this.
Macro to find data from a huge database of items of equipment and find certain ones relevant to an area. I am using Excel 2003.
I have a spreadsheet which has three tabs.
Tab one has a list of equipment with a Ref (Col A), ID (Col B), mile (Col C) and chain (Col D) start and a mile (Col E) and chain (Col F) finish.
There are about 25 different Refs and IDs, but all rows have different Mile and Chains.
The second tab is an identical template of the third tab which is where I want the results to go (see below)
The third tab is raw data which list thousands of items but I want the macro to find the items which are in the first tab using the ref, ID, mile and chain information.
I am trying to create a formula that would provide a result a specific number of times based on a table in a seperate worksheet. Here is an example:
Person: # of times John 2 Joe 2 Frank 2 Jack 1
Based on an IF statement, the cell should bring back John, the next cell down should bring back John, the third cell should bring back Joe as John has reached his limit of 2, and have this repeat until all criteria that meet the IF statement have been met.
on one sheet we have a summary of the main list, which includes totals of money recieved, totals of all the different sources (ie, where they heard about us from), the totals of the frequencies they pay (ie, how many donate monthly, quarterly...) ... etc. on the next sheet we have the "main" list of donors, their IDs, amounts, frequency, source ...
the totals on the first sheet are updated manually, but i want to change that as there are a great number of errors.
I have a requirement where I want my list should auto increment with number only.
For example: I want to fill below text in cell and when I drag the cell( Along the column A) and fill the rows downward it should automaticallly incremented.
Data in one cell say (A1) is like 001_TCO_CM, now I want to drag data present in cell A1 and wants data in cell A2, A3, A4 etc... it should get increment like
A2 = 002_TCO_CM
A3 = 003_TCO_CM
A4 = 004_TCO_CM
and so on...any method or way present in Excel 2003 so that my series should get auto filled.
I have two Spreadsheets on Excel 2003, one provided by a service supplier (i), and one from my own system (ii).
I need a macro attached to spreadsheet ii that looks for data matches between the F column of my spreadsheet, and the C column of the suppliers. Where data matches (i.e. if cell C42 in spreadsheet ii is the same as cell F23 in spreadsheet i) it transfers the contents of the A column of spreadhseet i and places it in the corresponding cell in the C column of spreadsheet ii.
Example 1 : In spreadsheet i cell C20=BN213YD. In spreadhseet ii cell F55=BN213YD. Therefore, the macro takes the contents of cell A20 in spreadsheet i and places it in cell C55 of spreadheet ii
Example 2 : In spreadsheet i Cell C75 = TN142XS. In spreadsheet ii this data is not found. The macro therefore takes no further action.
Basically, the suppliers spreadsheet has less information per row, but more entries overall. My spreadsheet is lacking a lot of suppliers references, but has more comprehensive information elsewhere. Until now i have been doing a manual search of the postcodes between the spreadsheets and rectifying them manually, but this is taking longer and longer as the spreadsheets grow.
I have the following formula which returns the number of asset breaks for each head of dept in sheet3 based on their teams in Sheet1 and then does a countif in >30_DAYS_ASSET in sheet2. In sheet 1 is a mapping table with range names "Teams2", "Teams" & "Managers". I now need the formula to also do a count on the unique numbers in sheet2 Column B, if there are duplicate numbers then that will be 1 asset break, so for example for for Joe plummer we can see there are duplicate case numbers so the formula in total should return 2.
I have a workbook that has a list of different depts. I need to design a way to enter a login of sorts to the excel and allow the user of that department to edit their entries only and lock the rest of the entries for the rest of the departments and do not show them in the result list after the user logs in. Once all department manager fills in his/her entries, the administrator is notified via email.
A1 - Date B1 - Receipt No. C1 - DEPT CODE D1 - NOMINAL CODE E1 - Reason F1 - Amount G1 - Running total (I've put a little formula in there to keep the balance - clever eh!)
So - this is fine - except I have to add the total amount for each department/nominal code each month.
What I'm doing at the moment is copying and pasting, sorting the sheet by:
Department Nominal Code Date
Then doing a manual add up of each and adding it to my month end report.
I'm really not an expert at all - but I thought there must be an easier way for me to do it. After inputting the petty cash there MUST be a way that it can automatically calculate it?
Or is this going to be a difficult thing to do requiring expertise in pivot tables etc?
A great chance to use the HTML Maker for the first time!
What I would like to do here is show how many of each value there is in the range.
So for 7B-MA5, it would say 6. For 7B-MA4, it would be 2 / 1 / 3, since there are 3 unique values and their counts respectively. Finally for 7B-MA3 it would say 3 / 3
A formula option would be great but I'll also take a macro option since it is a macro that generates these lists in the first place, so I could just add the new code to the end of it.
I have several sources of information for client files. the number format includes a reference number and a month, eg 123/11, 456/02. In some cases, the numbers may be presented including the company initials, eg ABC/00123/11. I want to make sure all numbers on all sources are the same as I am using Vlookup and this reference no to copy information from one source to another. Sometimes when I change the format Excel sees this as a date, eg 11/11 is 11-Nov, and in some cases Excel sees a fraction, eg 123/11 is 123 11ths or 123 divided by 11.
I can easily take out the reference no with a find and replace FIND ABC/ replace with . But this often results in a number with leading zeroes, eg ABC/0123/06 will leave 0123/06.
I am using excel 2003. My sheet contains Times in column A and numbers in column B. I want to be able to count how many of those rows fall into time periods. Such as how many are from 8:00-9:00 AM. I do have the time column formatted as Time.
Ex: A1: 3:40 PM A2: 8:20 AM A3: 8:55 AM A4: 10:23 AM etc.
B1: 23 B2: 34 B3: 12 B4: 35 etc.
So I want to be able to pull that between 8 and 9 AM there are 2 records.
The second part would be (in another cell) to pull the SUM of the numbers that correspond to the previous question. In the previous example it would be the SUM of all corresponding cells (Column B) that fall within the 8 and 9 AM range. Which would be 46 in this example.
From an Excel 2003 workbook I generate some product labels. Each label has a 5 digit job number and a quantity that are passed to variables. If the quantity is 1, then I have no problems in printing my label. My problem is where the quantity is greater than 1. If a job has more than 1 item (can be up to 40 or 50) I need to add a series of letter (or letters) to the end of the job number.
For example:
Job number 12345 qty 1
number on label 12345
Job number 12346 qty 4
numbers on labels 12346A, 12346B, 12346C, 1234D
so that each printed label has a unique job number
I would like to perform a sum of randomly generated numbers between 0 and 6, but I want the number of independent random numbers to be dependent on another cell. I have =SUM(RANDBETWEEN(0,6) and then I get stuck. Is there a way to perform the RANDBETWEEN(0,6) a number of times stated in another cell? In this case that value is 67 but it will vary from around 5 to 150. I think there is a way to do this with macros, but I am not versed in visual basic. I am using Excel 2003.
I have created a workbook to input, store and part edit defects on plants and machinery by userforms. I have everything working except either picking up a number I have pre-loaded into a column or auto generating a number onto the inputting userform. I need a number in the userform to be either generated in the next empty row in column I or taken from the numbers in the next empty row I have loaded into column I. Password is snatch.
Averages Monday=0 Tuesday=5 Wednesday=7.5 Thursday=0 (I have got a value return of 7.5) Friday=5 Saturday=0 (I have got a value return of 5) Sunday=0 (I have got a value return of 5)
I need to work out averages for cells higher than zeros, in other words, I need to ignore those.
Also say I have got an average of 5 by Tuesday and no number yet for the rest of the week, I still get an average of 5 for all days left which I do not want.
I am using excel 2003 and formula =SUM(RANGE)/COUNTIF(RANGE,">=0").
I would also like to hide the annoying #DIV/0! error.
I need a formula that returns the Nth number from a single column that contains a small number of values within a span of 1000 cells. E.g., within 1000 cells there are 36 with numbers and the remaining cells are blank. I need to obtain the first occurrence of a number in the column, then the second, third... to the thirty-sixth. The end result would be a column with 36 numbers with no blanks in between without loosing the correct order of the numbers.
I have excel 2003 and have been tooling around with the index and lookup functions with no success.
I really can't wrap my head around the idea of calculating overlap (in network days) between six date ranges and was wondering if any of you would have a solution to this problem.
I am having difficulty calculating the number of total overlapping days between several date ranges for each item in another sheet which has unique items
I am using Excel 2003 and my data looks like this:
Sheet-1 Sheet-2 Item - Sent Out (A) - Received (B) Unique Item Number of days excluding overlap days 1234 01/06/2010 - 30/06/2010 1234 - 4321 02/06/2010 - 16/06/2010 4321 - 1234 09/06/2010 - 10/06/2010 4321 21/06/2010 - 25/06/2010 1234 23/06/2010 - 25/06/2010 4321 23/06/2010 - 29/06/2010
I have used the below formula found from the earlier post but need to add a condition calculating the days for each item.
I'm trying to find a formula that looks at Column A on both sheets (each client is allocated a unique number) and if they match enter in column D of the referral sheet the month they were seen but only if it is a 1st contact (appt type on column D of contact sheet)
