Simplifying Formula For Multiple Buttons?
May 5, 2014I have a series of rows and columns. Each intersection has a formula. I want to be able to manually enter text in the cells that contain formulas but then click a button next to the row if I want the formulas back. Here's what I have written so far. Is there an easier way to write these OR is there a more streamlined way of accomplishing what I'm after? There will be about 39 rows and 39 associated buttons.
(The screenupdating lines are there just because I don't want the screen to flash in any way when I click the button)

Excel 2007 :: Complex SumIf / Sumproduct Formula?
Oct 11, 2011I am trying to do a dynamic sumifs that allows the user to use data validation lists to select 5 items to query. This is the easy part.
The hard part is that the amounts range to sum goes across 6 weeks and I want the answer to also take account of another validation input which specifies up to what week the range should be.
I have done a simply if statement in row 8 that flags weeks relevant to input cell B6.
How do I do a formula in say cell A16 that does the sumifs and acknowledges that the user has requested a dynamic range to sum?

I have the following formula:
=SUMIFS(FEB!TRANS_Cost,FEB!TRANS_Cat1,CAT_Main3,FEB!TRANS_Cat2,"Computer Items",FEB!TRANS_Status,"Paid")
TRANS_Cost = B:B on FEB tab
TRANS_Cat1 = C:C on FEB tab
TRANS_Cat2 = D:D on FEB tab
CAT_Main3 = "Everyday_Expenses"
TRANS_Status = E:E
In short the formula adds the total cost of anything 'tagged' as Everyday_expenses, computer items, paid. I want to adapt it so that it takes the value from a defined cell such as Month, so that data can be pulled by month.
Simplifying A Sumproduct Formula
Feb 8, 2010I'm using Excel 2003. I have been using SUMPRODUCT to look at too compare columns and data that is contained in both. Column L11:L52 contains the numbers 1 to 4 and Column K11:K52 contains the word YES in some cells. I just want to look and see if text is contained in a row in column L is it contained in that row in column K. This is the formula I'm using but it seems over complicated and I'm sure there is a way of just looking if the cell contains information without worrying what it is.

Column G is a list of 75000 imports (dollar amounts), each row has a supplier code.
I want to have a formula in Column P to sum the rows where the suppier code equals the supplier in column O.
i thought this was easier in 2007.

Apr 10, 2013I have a Excel 2007 spreadsheet of part numbers and quantities sold. In the spreadsheet we have similar part numbers, but my sumif command is adding these together. the parts are :

My column of part numbers is formatted as text
My formula is this =SUMIF(Sheet1!H:H,A16,Sheet1!Q:Q) where H is the part number and Q is the quanity
I tried adding a format command in the sumif command, but it returned a 0. =SUMIF(Sheet1!H:H,format(A16,"0"),Sheet1!Q:Q)

Nov 28, 2013I have 2 excel files (both .xlsx) and in the first file i am creating a reference to cells in the 2nd file using SUMIFS function. The 2nd file has 275,000 rows of data. I can create the formula correctly, however when i save the file, it just crashes every time (says not responding). If i create simple reference (=A275000) then its fine so im not sure what the issue is.

I want to determine the number of values SUMIF/SUMPRODUCT functions used/checked to arrive at the answer, i.e. 95 for row 2 and 116 for row 3. A function that can give a 3 and 2 respectively.
Example:
Results for Row #2 gives: 95 with 3 values picked up under "Rate"
Results for Row #3 gives: 116 with 2 values though three places were checked up under "Rate"
How can I count the number of these values referencing at the "Rate" like in the functions used.
I managed to use SUMIF/SUMPRODUCT functions to calculate totals based on "Rate" in row one.
I tried COUNTIF function, but allows only field/heading.

Simplifying Formula When Data Needs To Be Extracted From Large Number Of Worksheets?
Jun 16, 2014simplifying a formula which gathers data from about 50 worksheets from within the same work book.
The data to be gathered is in the same cell on each worksheet and is simply a number but i want the SUM of theses numbers carried forward to another worksheet. Each worksheet is named by date i.e. sheet 1 is named "16 June 2014" and sheet 2 is named "23 June 2014" and so on until "30 March 2015" (Each sheet represents one full week Monday - Sunday).

There is a lot going on, including a check box, which I dont have much experience with and data on two different sheets. I need to sumif the box is checked (true cell) and the item matches the item on another sheet then I need to sum the qty in the adjacent column.
Inventory sheet:
I will have a similar formula in both C and D, but this will be for what I need in D, and I should be able to figure C out from that. What I have to get my starting number is "=SUM('Proc-Pack SUMMARY'!B16-'Proc-Pack SUMMARY'!C16)". Now I need to subtract what is sold from that number to give me a current on hand number.

The type column is a drop down box with that matches the type column on the inv sheet. The "cyl" and "lbs" columns have check boxes in them. So if C (cyl) is checked and A matches A on the inventory sheet I need to subtract D.

Also is it possible to link so you can only one of the two check boxes in a row? I know the option button does this, but I didnt think that would work with the formula.

What I want to be able to do is to select a meter row per number and copy is to it's own worksheet. At the end - I want to be able to have a seperate worksheet per electric meter number - that I can create a graph. If I go through all 9000 meters and copy and paste into a different worksheet - it will take me weeks to do manually. How can I do this automatically?

Mar 24, 2012I have a column of cells with Customer info and address in each row, that I need to move into multiple columns. ie Cust name, acct #,address, city,state, zip the problem is ALL of the info for each customer is in ONE cell.To be clear, cell B1 has complete name address etc for one customer, B2 has the info for another, B3... on and on. To complicate matters as in the example, there is not a pattern in the lines. the first example shows the info beginning on the 2nd line of the cell, but the 2nd example shows info in the first line. I have tried the text to column fixed width. Didn't work because names and addresses are of varying lengths. Then I tried delimited, but there isn't a common separation between different data. I am using excel 2007. FYI I did go through many many threads and found some that were close to my problem but not close enough to work.

Oct 25, 2007I am trying to pull cell values similar to a SUMIF function (SUMIF(range,criteria,sum_range)). For example, in A1 I use a data list created from data elsewhere on the spreadsheet. In the data I created elsewhere, there are 2 columns being used. The 1st column is the information that is being used to create the list and the second column contains specific values (number or text). In the dropdown menu I select an available value (text or number) . When I have selected that value I would like cell A2 to show what the cell directly to the right of it shows from the data I have elsewhere in the spreadsheet as mentioned. I have tried the SUMIF function however it seems to exclude certain values (number or text) and I am not sure what else to use.

In cell "C3" i have number of quantity
If "B3" is "abc" then only calculate below :
1st option : If product name is "abc" then only calculate (which is cell "B3") & cell "c3" is >=15 & cell "c3" is<19 then message shown as "one mobile free"
2nd option : If product name is "abc" then only calculate (which is cell "B3") & cell "c3" is >=20 & cell "c3" is<39 then message shown as "two mobile free"
3rd option : If product name is "abc" then only calculate (which is cell "B3") & cell "c3" is >=40 then message shown as "three mobile free"
In view of the above which formula applicable.

Here's the formula that I attempted to use:

However, I receive an error message stating "The formula you typed contains an error" and it highlights the D in the equation.
I am not sure why the D was flagged as an error. If anything, I thought the "Error" portions would have been flagged...

Excel 2007 :: How To Do Multiple Hyperlinks In A Column
Jul 15, 2014I have Excel 2007, and I have column 1 with a thousand entries "HC 14-0001" all the way down to "HC 14-1000". I have on my hard drive 1000 foldiers named the exact same "HC 14-0001 to HC 14-1000". I want to create a Hyperlink from each item in that column to its corrisponding folder on the hard drive. I can easily create the Hyperlink, but I want to find someway to copy them. I can create the first two rows... HC 14-0001 and HC 14-0002 and create good Hyperlinks to the folders, but when I highlight them and drag them down, the excel spreedsheet is updated all the way to HC 14-1000, but the Hyperlinks do not change.
How can I get the Hyperlinks to change? I don't want to spend the next week creating Hyperlinks for a 1000 entries on this spread sheet, and I have 5 other spreadsheets exactly the same.
Excel 2007 :: Vlookup Using Multiple Columns?
Jun 27, 2011I'm looking to simply find a function that allows me to lookup a certain value in a table of data and return the value in a specific column. So if I looked up the current date, 6/27/2011, it would return the week it is in (26). I dont want to be limited to just the monday column however, as the dates I will be throughout the entire week. Is there an easy way to do this in excel 2007?

I am having cell return blank if no value is found. it is currently looking only at one sheet.
I don't want it to combine the values like this formula does.

sheet 1 is where the cell I am writing the formula is in, and I want to look in sheet 2, 3, and possible 4 for a value, I want to only have the greatest value show between the sheets. is this possible.
