I have seen a few examples which find the last used cell... but these seem to grab cells that have formulas in them, even though no text has been entered. I need to know how to find the last cell in a worksheet that contains text.

I need some vba coding which will find and replace text on a worksheet. This would normally be straight-forward, however some text needs to be replaced by text which already occurs in the worksheet, and without it changing as well (if Find/Replace can perform two Find/Replaces at the same time???).
Here is the detail and what I am trying to accomplish: I have two worksheets each with a table of data.Worksheet 1 has a lookup table with three columns of data (column a and b are lists, with c being a formulated column which is dependent on the user selecting either column a name or column b name). I have done this easily enough using data validation on cell $C$1.Worksheet 2 has a user input table which column 3 is a dropdown validation using the named range "UsedName" from Worksheet 1.
I want the selected dropdown names to automatically change when the user changes Old Name to New Name (and vis-versa) on Worksheet 1.The list of values in the data validation dropdown list change well enough, but not any of the existing returned values. When I tried to use vba coding to Find & Replace, I run into issues because (Substanital and Important) are used in both instances, but at different levels with different matched names Important/Relevant.

so I want column C to automatically change from these New Names to the corresponding Old Name of the same level. So Critical would become Dominant, Important would become Relevant and Substantial would become Important.

If I insert the code into the actual log file (no button and no opening of files), it works fine. I searched this forum and others and used everything I learned to find a solution, but the error remains.
Working with project information which is about 1,000 project. I have two worksheets one has the start date/finish dates for each phase of a project -Define, Measure, I, Analyze, Control. Depending on the date I need it to be read and insert a value in my summary worksheet. The summary sheet contains the 12 months. I need the formula to read two columns start/finish, if the month is the same as the header in the second report return a letter of D, M, I, A, C if not leave blank.

I have a 4 tab worksheet containing Control, RawData, F, Dan. I need to know how to copy calculated values for one specific customer from the RawData tab to certian locations on the Dan tab matching the customer number on RawData tab.
RawData Tab colum (V) cells (2-99) will always contain one customer value at a time, and the calculated values will always be in cells E100, H100, and H101, but I need to copy the data in specific cells to the row/cells that matches the customer number on the Dan tab that contains all my assigned customers.
for instance if i'm pulling a report for customer 1-222-222 I need to know how to place the calculated values from the RawData tab to the row designated for customer 1-222-222 on the Dan tab in the required cells.

Quick example...name in column A is Davis, want to fill in column B with a value from cell C3 on worksheet named Davis and do it for the entire list. Data being looked for is in same cell on each worksheet. Tried using a formula and dragging it down the list, problem with that is it doesn't change the sheetname just the cell.

Basically, I have the below code that looks at a line in a sheet(ws_Site) based on the Line ID Number that is in column A and then Finds that that LineID_Value in a different sheet(ws_main) and copies a value from column I on that line across. Problem is, if the cell I is blank it copies it across and essentially clears the cell if there was data in it.
How can I adjust the below code to only set ws_main.Range(c.Address).Offset(0, 8).Value = LineID_Value if LineID_Value is not blank?

I want to use one button with a macro attached to it to locate data on a different worksheet. So I highlight the "activecell" I want to find on the other spreadsheet then click on the button and it goes to the correct spreadsheet and filters for the data I want (relevant to the activecell).

They will be searching using the 'Brand', 'MPAN' and 'Tariff' fields.I would like to have drop down menu's for then to select the correct search option. I then have another sheet within the same workbook with all the data in it with columns headed of Brand', 'MPAN' and 'Tariff'. It has to be an excat match using those three parameters though. I would like the parameters the user selects on the first sheet to be searched and found on the second sheet, with the figures in the cells next to the search result getting fed back into a set cells back on the first page.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIf i have a range say E12:O12 and want to find the last cell before blank, lets say it finds m12 as the cell with the value before blank. then with m12 it needs to determine weather row 11 in the same column has Text either "S" or "F" if "S" then m12 = t if "F" then m12 offset(1,-1) = t. And just to make things more difficult i need the range E12:O12 to step 2 as well until it gets to E208:O208 .Noting that row 11 never changes and will always have either an "S" Or an "F"

2. Ignore cell C1
3. All the other cells in that row are shaded blue. Look at these.
4. Look at the "Volunteer" row - all the cells in that row are shaded blue. Look at these.
5. Wherever a name - any name - appears in the "Volunteer" row, 1 is added to the previous number in the "Days so far" section and the result is displayed in cell from the "Days so far" row above that Volunteer's name.
6. For example, we begin in C1 with a count of 12 days so far - this was manually entered
7. In cell H5, we see Henry has volunteered 1 day. The total no. of days so far should now be 12+1. Therefore, the number in H1 should be 13.
8. In cell G47, we see Joseph has volunteered 1 day. The total number of days volunteered BEFORE Joseph volunteered is 15 (see cell D43). But now, with Joseph volunteering 1 day, the total no. of days so far should now be 15+1. Therefore, the number in G43 should be 16.
9. what formula l must put in the "Days so far" row (excluding cell C1, which is manually input) to give me the "should be" results predicted in that row? I'm guessing it will be a formula which looks at each row fragment of the "Days so far" row, row by row, right up to the previous cell in that row, all within one formula.
P.S. I just want to leave the "Days so far" row blank, for any columns where there are no volunteers in the "Volunteer" row, so please don't give a formula which inserts zero for days with no volunteer, and then sums the cumulative total.
I have a drop down list in a merged cell B12-F12 and B13-F13 and B14-F14 . . . B30-F30.
I need the adjacent merged cell to populate a reason (text) based on the text answer in the drop down list or the entered text in the first merged cell. For example in the cell B12-F12 the user picks from the list or types in "Amiodarone." I want the adjacent merged cell G12-J12to automatically fill with "Heart Rhythm." I also want to be able to set up multiple if - them statements like if Amiodarone is entered then fill adjacent cell with Heart Rhythm and if Toprol XL then fill adjacent cell with Heart / Blood pressure and if simvastatin then fill adjacent cell with Cholesterol, etc. I have about 30 different options for cell 1 that I want to have auto fill in cell 2 based on the contents of cell 1. I've attached my file.

I have a worksheet named "ABC". In row 4 of this worksheet, each cell from G to BG is numbered from 1 onwards and each cell has a unique number. I would like to have a macro ask the user through a pop-up question box which column data should be calculated in. Is it possible to modify this for the attached workbook to select a cell with data (numbers) on the Input Data sheet in column 'E', add text to the beginning, ('CG' in this case), and paste the result to the Import Template in the corresponding cell of column 'A'? I currently have a formula copied to dozens of cells in 'A' but since the number of rows for the Input Template is variable, there are usually cells in 'A' that contain CG but no corresponding data in the rest of the row.
I'm trying to do a column of individual discount calculations using a discount percentage found in a cell two to the right of a cell containing the text "Total SP:" that is always upwards and to the left of the cell where the formula goes (but could be two rows or could be 20). There are multiple "Total SP:" cells in the sheet - I always want the first one upwards. I have created the following but I get #NAME? where I hope to see the discounted value.

I've just thought, the Cells.Find needs to be redone for each cell where the formula is inserted to ensure it always catches the correct discount and this isn't going to do that - it's going to find it once and always use that single value.
I think this needs a Loop or something and to move the ActiveCell down one after the formula to get it to redo the Cells.Find.
I need to find the "x" in range C2:C44 and replace it with a value (variable) specified in cell I2
The catch is that I then need to be ablt to change that character when I2 changes.
