I've got two public dynamic arrays being declared in a module attached to my workbook. I then have a sub that runs off a userform in that workbook which populates and redims the arrays preserving the data. Next I activate a PowerPoint application and insert some tables into which I want to put the data in the arrays but when I refer to the arrays (admittedly in a Sub called from the first Sub) I'm getting a 'subscript out of range error'. I can print out the data before I call the second sub and it's fine. I've worked with public variables before and never had this problem. Do I have to call the public variable differently if I'm curretnly in a different application (i.e. PowerPoint)?

I have an workbook with pictures that are linked to external picture files, and they are placed in the workbook via macro. When I email the file to another computer and open it, the pics do not display and show an error:
The linked image cannot be displayed. The file may have been moved, renamed, or deleted, Verify that the link points to the correct file and location.
I would like to be able to save the workbook with the pictures in them (without having to archive them) so that I can open it and see them on another machine.

I'm looking to generate a chart out of a table of data. I want the Y-axis to show a percentage return on an investment.
On the x-axis I want to have a range of scenarios from a market average return of -40% to +40%. Obviously, I wish for 0% to sit in the middle of the x-axis.
I'd want to have 3 lines observable in the chart. I'd be looking to build the above out of a table almost exactly like this:
Market ReturnDeposit90% Model100% Model403.51412303.51211203.5910103.57803.543-103.520-203.5-1-3-303.5-4-5-403.5-8-9

This should be pretty simple but I don't know how to do it. When I run the macro recorder, it doesnt record the change. I just want to change the number format of the chart labels from currency to a normal number and visa-versa. Why doesnt this work?
Code:
ActiveSheet.ChartObjects("chart 5").SeriesCollection(1).DataLabels.NumberFormat = "[$-809]#,##0.00;-[$-809]#,##0.00"

im having problem formatting my graph.
chart type = line.
I have 1 series of data, which is N values vs. Time.
Time however, is specified by specific dates. The graph is not putting a plot point accorrding to the date corresponding to the N value.
Example values:
date:____1/1/05 _______ 5/7/05 _____ 8/13/05
n value: __55 ___________ 22 _________ 11
I want the chart to reflect the time between the dates and put a plot point (n value) under each date listed and connect with a line.

I am looking to create a spreadheet that will automatically shade blocks in a gannt chart according to a list of dates.
I.e B13 & B14 will have the start and end date of the particular task or activity (this will be on another sheet)
Row A3 - S3 will contain dates, iusing a lookup formulas excel will look up the activity name (or number) and look for the relevant date, if the date listed in row 3 is within or equal to that date it will return yes, if not a no.
this seemed straightforad, but I cant think of a consistent formula that will do this, without having to keep changing it ...

I am using the VBA Chart Control and I have the following instruction;
Me.ChartSpace1.Axes(ChartAxisPositionEnum.chAxisPositionCategory).Numb erFormat = "mm/dd/yy"
The chart is a "chChartTypeLine". the problem is that i cannot change the format of the X-Axis to a Date (mm/dd/yy) format no matter what I try? I keeps wanting to keep it as "General", here is the code;
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim ser As ChSeries
Dim cht As ChChart
Dim MinValue As Double
Dim MaxValue As Double
MinValue = Sheet1.Range("D2").Value + 10
MaxValue = Sheet1.Range("A2").Value

I made a pivot chart. On the X axis are days of the year. I would like the axis to give the months rather than the days, because it is easier to read. But when I select the chart's axis, I don't have acces to any "number" sheet in the "Axis format" section. I could just change the scale.
ActiveChart.Axes(xlCategory).Select
With Selection.TickLabels
.Alignment = xlCenter
. Offset = 100
.ReadingOrder = xlContext
.Orientation = 45
.NumberFormat = "[$-41D]mmmm;@" 'I added this line
End With
ActiveChart.HasPivotFields = False

I know from searching through the internet you can change the intervals by modifying the minimumScale, maximumScale and MajorUnit fields of TickLabels. What I want to do is change the period of the axis label to a comma. For example,
if it shows
10.00
5.00
0.00
I want it to show
10,00
5,00
0,00

I have a pivot chart which has one Axis field (Cell Ref2) and one Sum of Values field (which is a table series of percentages calculated from formulas)
I see the graph like I'd expect, but I'm struggling to get it to show percentages rather than basic integer units on the y-axis? Usually I would imagine to just right click on the y-axis : Format Axis, and expect to see something to change the display units, but it is only for hundredths thousands etc rather than a percentage ? The units themselves in the table for that value series are in percentages so I don't see why it isnt showing the percentage units in the first place.

Code:

Here is my for each loop:

'This macro loops through worksheets in a list and performs the assigned task
Dim sheet_name As Range

I'm trying to get the bars of a chart to change colour depending on the selection from a drop down in a cell. The drop down is validated to be one of four options which changes the figures displayed in the graph using index matching.I would really like the colour to change to represent what the option being selected is.
I used some VBA code before for changing the cell colour depending on the selection made to get over the 3 condition limit. Could this be easily edited to change a bar graph colour? All of the references I can see on line refer to changing the colours of bars based on their value, I don't want to do this, more an independant cell value!
My previously used code is below:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
Dim iColor As Integer
If Not Intersect(Target, Range("d9:d129")) Is Nothing Then
Select Case Target.Cells(1)
Case "Commercial Final State"
iColor = 49
Case "Commercial Interim"
iColor = 31

I have a dynamic chart which I would like to show markers in a SeriesCollection anywhere the backcolor of any of the corresponding source cells is ColorIndex = 36; otherwise no marker is shown. Something along the lines of:
VB: AutoLinked keywords will cause extra spaces before keywords. Extra spacing is NOT transferred
when copy/pasting, but IS if the keyword uses "quotes".
With Sheets("Chart").ChartObjects(1).Chart.SeriesCollection(1)
For i = 1 To UBound(.Values)
If "something here to check if .Interior.ColorIndex = 36" Then
.Points(i).MarkerStyle = xlMarkerStyleCircle
Else
.Points(i).MarkerStyle = xlMarkerStyleNone
End If
Next i

I'm trying to format the color of the data series in a graph that was produced from a pivot table. The pivot table contains a count of each traffic light in each project phase. eg.
. Traffic Light
Phase Amber Green Red Total
Initiate 1 3 2 |6
Design 5 3 |8
Implement 3 5 |8
---------------------------------------------
Total 4 13 5 |24
From this I have created a bar graph. (graph does not represent above data). Now, I'm trying to get each data series to represent their own colour. Instead of the default formatting. Cause every time I click on refresh data on the pivot table, it resets it to default.
ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(1).Select
With Selection.Interior
.ColorIndex = 45
.Pattern = xlSolid
End With
ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(2).Select
With Selection.Interior
.ColorIndex = 43
.Pattern = xlSolid
End With........................

Background: I have a Chart sheet with a combination bar/line chart on it. Data is coming from a "datasheet". There is a combo box on the chart sheet that allows you to choose a specific office whose data you want to view. Pick an office from the dropdown and the chart changes. The data is a count of closed cases by month. The data sheet shows 22 Offices with their monthly data, along with entries for each month of the Upper Control Point, Lower Control Point and Mean based on the nationwide data for that month.
The chart itself uses bars to show the office's case count per month, and I've incorporated 3 additional data series to plot the UCP, LCP and Mean as lines for each month.
I'd like to change the color of the bars to be Blue, Green or Red depending on where they fall in the 3 lines. I sort of have it working, but I'm stuck.
The code below grabs the value of each series point and compares it to the 3 control points and does change the colors. I've figured out how to use the If, next to change from one series point to the next, but cannot figure out how to loop through each of the control points. As it stands now, it looks only at the first month's control point and uses that for each successive month.
I hope this is clear and I've tried to keep it as short as possible while still providing enough information.

I have a set of data listed by country, I need to add a new country to the list and I want to keep everything in alphabetical order. My problem is that adding a new series to the range anywhere but the end throws of the series formatting for my chart. The plotted points on my chart are the countries flag, so when everything shifts down a row the flags no longer represent the proper country. Is there an easy way to add the new country and keep my formatting lined up or will I need to redo the formatting for all the alphabetically lower countries?

By aligned, i mean re-size the graph and paste in a formatted fashion (currently they are overlapping each other)
My entire PPT created is off alignment and formatting. E.g heading are not properly aligned (they are touching the line below) and so on.

I have a text box within a chart tab which is populated with text values from a worksheet within the workbook. That part works fine however i want to be able to achieve the following example:
Current Text: Component Name - Notes
if there are notes against the component name i want the name to remain in black and the notes to change to blue
Aim: Component Name - Notes
If there arn't any notes then for the component name and the "-" to change to a light shade of grey
Aim: Component Name -
There are 26 components, each on their own lines in the textbox so im thinking either a loop where the cell reference is variable eg. ("CY" & i) or using the .find with a variable.
My code so far is:
Code:
Sub Chart_Notes_NTCA()
Dim i As Long, j As Long, Counted As Long, Total As Long
Dim Ans As String, Notes As String
Dim Cht As Chart
[Code].....

I work with a team of users that are continually publishing reports in Word that contain charts and graphs copy and pasted from Excel into Word 2010.
We have a custom script that leverages a PDF engine to automatically convert .doc files to .PDF files that we distribute electronically to our clients. This all works great, but only if all my users select 'paste special' and Enhanced Metafile Format when adding their excel charts into our reports. Most of these people aren't tech savvy, and I'm havin ga hell of a time getting them to follow this workflow and am hoping there's a way in Office 2010 to select the default paste from excel into word when the content is a chart.
It seems like the default paste from excel is an embedded chart/graph that you can then further manipulate each component of the chart in Word; the default doesnt' paste an actual image. I am assuming the pdf renderer is using a lower resolution .PNG version of the image and when these are scaled for print and or pdf, they look like crap.
Is htere anyway I can automatically change the default paste format for the chart from excel into word to be an EMF/EMV (enhanced metafile?) Either thorugh the registry or some other saveable setting?

I have grouping setup in my excel spread sheet.
1. I added pictures(print screen-->mspaint-->cut existing part of the image-->paste into excel. In excel they are called "Pictures 01 thru Picture X" with the pull points all around.
2. I located them in specific cells of the grouped type with the (-) sign appears so the group of cells are in use
3. When I close the Group(+) of cells all the pictures are jumbled above the closed cells.
Question: Is there away to keep these pictures within those cells when closing the group, so they will not been see as well?
