I have a workbook with a single worksheet that has about 2000 rows, columns A, B, C, D, E & F Cells in colums A, B, C, E & F all have very different information in them, nothing is similar in any of those columns that I can base a criteria on. Cells in column D however will have 1 of about 18 possibilities in them
What I want to do is have another workbook with 18 worksheets, each worksheet named 1 of the 18 possibilities, and somehow magically pull the data from the first workbook and insert it into the correct worksheet in the second workbook, leaving the data in the first workbook intact.
I update the first workbook several times a day, adding and deleting from it so would need to update as it goes, or be able to run the update as and when needed.
My skills are limited to simple formulas inserted into cells and dragging them down!
I have a spread sheet with bunch of rows and columns. Columns goes all the way from A ... BB and rows from 1 to 40,000
The main focus is column Y and AC
If there is a value of FALSE found in column Y then macro should go to previous row and copy the value that contains in column AC and then move down to the next row, , where the value FALSE was found and that's in column Y and paste that value in column AC the NUMERIC VALUE
I'm using excel 2003. I would like to select and copy rows of data within a worksheet of a workbook and then paste those rows into a newly created excel workbook. That is the easy part. The complication is that I would like the macro to select the rows based on a particular string value that will be impossible to specify in a fixed way (i.e., it will change from project to project). Let's say the variable that distinguishes the rows is location, so some are from Tokyo, some New York, and some from Paris. Using vba, how can one 'splice' the data into (in this case, three) seperate workbooks based on the string/values of another variable?
I am familiar with auto-filter, but in this case, I really do need to create seperate workbooks, rather than apply calculations to a selection of the data.
I need a formula that will take the value of one cell and put it in another cell other than the one in which I am typing the formula. I can't think of how to do this.
I have two columns, A & B (no headers), of information. The columns are not identical, and column B has empty cells scattered throughout the column. For each empty cell in column B, I want to copy the same row of information into it from column A, as if I'm just scooting the information in column A that's on the same row as the empty cells in column B.
This is simple with a cut/paste, but when there's thirty empty cells, cutting and pasting takes time. (What's really frustrating is that I've figured out a few formulas that will copy the information from column A but all the information gets pasted in the column in which I'm creating the formula (say, column F, for example). THAT doesn't help me because the empty cells in column b are still empty!)
I have a macro that inserts a formula on the first row and then copies it down. The problem is the row count is variable but I know it won't exceed 5000 so I just copy it down 5000. For the blank rows I get the ugly #NAME, #VALUE, etc errors.
I know there are ways to supress those error messages, but how about a way so that the macro checks to see how many rows are populated so it doesn't copy down on the blank rows.
I need the macro to look at cells B9:B84 on the Sheet1 tab of the Cost Template. If it finds an x I need it to copy the 3 cells to the right of the x and paste them in a template. For example if it sees an x in cell B9 it would copy cells C9, D9 and E9, open the Purchase Order to the Detail tab, then paste it to cells B3, C3 and D3. It would continue looking for an x down to B84. So if it found 5 cells with x, it would give me 5 instances of the Purchase Order with 3 cells pasted into each.
I've attached my Cost Template and the Purchase Order it needs to copy to. In the Cost Template is a macro called Create_PO. This is what I was trying to alter to make this happen. I can't seem to get it right! FYI in case it matters, I had to change the Cost Template from .xltm to .xlsm in order to upload it on this site.
I need to look up the name in E2 in the list in column A and if it matches then lookup name in F2 in list column b, if it matches then the corresponding number in column C is displayed in column G. If neither names are in the 2 columns the words"Not on lists" is displayed in cell in column G.
The other problem is one name is spelled two different ways I want it to look for both spelling before moving on to looking up the second name.
I started with this formula but I'm getting #N/A or "not on list" when they are on the list. I'm using ranges prod_sum is columns AthruC, Last_name is range BthruC. =IF(AND(VLOOKUP(F4,prod_sum,3,0),VLOOKUP(I4,last_name,2,0)),"not on list")
I am trying to move a column of numbers based on the information in another column. I've been looking for about a week and find macros that are close but not quite.
In one column it reads Mobile, Home, or is blank. If the number is a Mobile (column R), the area code (column P) needs to move to column S and the phone (column Q) needs to move to column T and the primary phone (column R) needs to move to column U. Home and blank cells remain as they are.
area (P) phone (Q) primary phone (R) col S col T col U
My friend has multiple workbooks, each containing data. Each worksheet with have the same number of columns but a variable number of rows
Thinking through, what I deduced the simplest thing to do would be this: Have a macro that would Highlight all the data except the title row in the active workbookSwitch to a different workbook called "Consolidation"On the next free row, paste the information
They can then just activate another workbook and run the macro again
I want to copy all the information from a name range from a different workbook and paste it in my activeworkbook , but the trouble that I'm having is that it doesn't copy all the cells of the name range, just the first cell of the name range Here is the command that I'm using, not sure if it's the best approach
I have a workbook with a number of worksheets. (say they are called A, B, C, D). Each sheet is exactly the same.
what i would like to do is look down column A in each sheet in turn and where there is a "y", it will copy the entire row of information (say A to J) to my "master" sheet. i want it only to copy (not delete) the information, but then enter a "y" in row A for all the columns it has copied.
(thereby meaning the next time i run it, it will not copy those rows again.)
I have a column that has different SIC codes in it (00045, 00046, etc). I would like to set up a macro or filter that would take cells in this column and delete each row that contains a certain code that I don't want.
Example, I want to delete all the rows with SIC codes that have 00345, 00873, 00145, etc in a particular cell. I would like a macro that would look at each cell in the column and delete the rows that I don't want.
Column G From G2:G102 has a number in it. This number is an average of column D:F same respective row +2
What I am looking to do is if the value in H2:H102 is equal to or greater than the number in G2:G102 same respective row go bold green.
So I did a simple CF for H2 to look at G2 and that works fine but when I copy and paste format all the way done to H102. It is comparing all the values in H3:H102 to G2 instead of the respective row H3 to G3, H4 to G4, H5 to G5 you get the idea.
I don't want to do a CF on each row in column H because it will take forever.
What is the simplest way to do this.
I think it is just about the formatting of the formula?
in the cell L8, and I would like to add a code that copies down the formula from L8 to the last row in column L, when the below button event from Userform is click.
Code: Private Sub CBAddNewItem_Click()
Set drng = Sheet1.Range("F7") 'move the value without selecting drng.End(xlDown).Offset(1, 0).Value = Me.TBItemID.Value drng.End(xlDown).Offset(0, 1).Value = Me.TBDate.Value
Is there a way to create a formula to add for instance 4 rows to it. I am brining figures from a worksheet titled std inventory to another worksheet. The std inventory worksheet is set up by weeks with 4 lables. So the figures I want to bring in for weeks ending are in increments of 4 rows. For instance I am working on a sheet which I am inputting formulas which read: = 'std inventory'!M50
My next formula down I want to input would be = 'std inventory'!M54
Is there a way to copy and paste special this formula but have it add the 4 rows on easily? So the next formula would be
I have a set of data in cells sequencially in every 3rd column. I would like to create a new rows where the data I have in columns are placed into rows in accordance with its catogory.
So all EUR are in one row sequencially over the colums and the same for USD & GBP. This way I can create a graph.
I've tried (and failed miserably!) to copy and then paste values from a COLUMN to a ROW using all sorts of code I'd picked up in the forum but all the code only works when copying and pasting values from ROWS to ROWS.
I have data in cell A1, A3, A5 to A13 on Sheet1 (notice blank cells inbetween) that I'd like to copy to to Cells A2 to M2 (A1 to M1 have headings) on Sheet2, then A3-M3 etc.
The cells on Sheet1 will always be the same, BUT each time I click the "Transfer Data" button, those values must be transferred to Sheet2 IN THE NEXT EMPTY ROW, please.
It is not necessary to skip the blank cells in the COLUMN Sheet1 - simply copy / paste them as empty on Sheet 2 and I'll hide the empty columns, i.e. B, D, etc. If it is easy to code this "skipping of blank cells" (thereby limiting the copying / pasting data in order to speed up the process), then that code would be great - I simply do not know what effect it would have.
I have a worksheet where I collect ledger balances from 2 different sources and wish to identify out of balance situations. I have done so, but now I need to copy those rows indicated by a "No" to another worksheet (ideally I would like to have those rows printed out directly, but I can do that from another worksheet. I have tried AutoFilter and Sort, but that is not giving me what I want or expect. My question is: How do I code a macro to pull those "No" rows and either print them directly or copy to a new worksheet (WorkSheet2)?
I am looking for code to copy and paste a row into a new sheet based on the data in a particular column. I would like it to look at Sheet 1 Row D and if it finds the word Russell to copy the entire row and paste it into the Sheet entitled Russell
I'm looking to create a macro that copies a row of data and pastes it within a range when a condition is met. For Example, if A1 of the header Row matches A2 within a Range of A2:A100, I want to Copy the A1 Row and Paste Special Values over the Match in A2. Likewise if the match is contained in Row 100, I would like to Copy from A1 and Paste Special Values into A100.
So i have two sheets with user info and so on, my boss asked me if i can transfer person names from sheet1 to sheet2 but each name must be in correct place acordingly to username column
Capture6.jpgCapture7.PNG
in capture6: in F18 you see 139401arle and G18 is supposed to be his name but it's in other shhet as you can see
in capture7 his name "Ar Sveinung Leira" is in E5
is there any way to transfer names so that they go in right place?
I need to create a new excel template for work. I was planning to copy a few worksheets from an old workbook over into the new workbook, mostly just for formatting for some graphs/tables that I would then link to the new workbook. A coworker said I cannot do this as copying from an old workbook will bring in "hidden" data that could some way impact the integrity of the new workbook and that the copied/old worksheet would FOREVER be linked to the new workbook no matter what I do. Is this true? If so, are there things I can do to remove any reliance to the old workbook.
I have to worksheets, the first is filled out and at the end Ive place a button that I would like to open the second sheet and fill in cells that have duplicate info from the first, so just copy & paste but kind of automated for speed.
I have only got as far as opening the second document with the macro, after that im stuck!
The Info I would like to be copied across from the "service Diary" to the "Service Report" would be As follows: *CUSTOMER *CONTACT *MACHINE TYPE *SERIAL NUMBER *QUOTE NUMBER *ORDER NUMBER
It takes an specific word from a certain number of files that you can choose from an add file window. Then when you choose those files the macro starts to run every file and look for an specific word, in this case is "ROFO March 2013".
When it finds it, The macro creates a new workbook( You create the name of that workbook y the first place of the macro, when you choose the files that you want to look for that word).
So, When the macro finds the word ROFO March 2013, it copys all the columns that has that name, and keeps looking until the file ends.
And paste all that info in the new file, A consolidate File.
I have change all the names of variables of the macro so you can understand it.
Code: Sub copy_data(ByVal Origin_File_route As String, ByVal destiny file As String) Dim Origin_File As String, RsBusq As Range, ROFO As String Dim Rango As Range, Fila As Long, lastrow as Long origin_file = Dir(origin_file_route)
