say I had a list of dates all in a column and beside it I had another column and in this one I want a formula to say were abouts in the list the cell next to it is for example in cell D2 i want a formula that tells me what position in the list the date in cell C2 is.

Excel 2013 :: Formula To Auto Delete Number In Dropdown List When Number Appears In Another Cell

I'm making a Excel 2013 spreadsheet that has formula in a column that auto enters a number 1-40 when something is entered to the left of that cell. There are 300 rows in the spreadsheet. I would like to make a drop down list in a column cell to the right that would delete that number in that cell from the drop down list. For example cell C1 has 39, that 39 then is deleted from the drop down list. C2 has 22 in it, click on the drop down list cell and it shows 1-40 less 39 and 22.

Listing Number In A Cell To Display List Of Items In Another Cell

When inserting "1" in the cell under soup, i was thinking it will bring up a list of its ingredients and how much of that ingredient. The values are listed in the same spread sheet below.

The amount of the ingredient is in D50 (80grams) and the item type next to it in E50(onion)

Is it possible to put in "1" soup then it displays all the items in both those cells range example(D50-E50 to D60-E60)?
Is it possible to put the value "2" in soup and it shows double the measurements? example (160grams) (onion)

I'm doing the website for my company and things have to be entered into the site via spreadsheets. I have a list of numbers

e.g. 3652, 2845, 50925, 4809, 18392

that need to have the spaces removed in order for them to work.

e.g. 3652,2845,50925,4809,18392

There are over 500 cells with multiple numbers in each, so I don't want to do it one at a time, and rightly so, because Excel keeps changing the format and giving me something like

3.6*10^30 and loses all my commas.

Is there an easier way?

I have a requirement where I want my list should auto increment with number only.

For example: I want to fill below text in cell and when I drag the cell( Along the column A) and fill the rows downward it should automaticallly incremented.

Data in one cell say (A1) is like 001_TCO_CM, now I want to drag data present in cell A1 and wants data in cell A2, A3, A4 etc... it should get increment like

A2 = 002_TCO_CM

A3 = 003_TCO_CM

A4 = 004_TCO_CM

and so on...any method or way present in Excel 2003 so that my series should get auto filled.

How To Count Number Of Events A Number Appears In A List

I want to count the number of times any given number appears either as a consecutive group or singularly.

To give you a context I monitor windturbines and for any given fault code I wish to count the number of events it occurs in a month. Now it could be for 1 hour then clear the next then back for 17 then claer again. That would be 2 events!

NB the data is in seperate coulumns per turbine.

Multiple Applications Combined Into One Part Number With A List Of Applications In One Cell

If the admins or you would like to change or recommend a change, I am trying to figure out what the code would look like for cells B22:B28. I need it to count the number of occurrences of the part number in A4:A17 and then combine the applications from the corresponding cells in column F (F4:F170 into a single cell (B22:B28).

On sheet 2 I would manually copy/paste the list of part #s from sheet 1 and remove duplicates. The add the formula that I can't figure out into column 2.

The VP of our company needs me to create a spreadsheet.

For this s/s I need the following:

Imagine 2 sheets in Excel...

sheet1
sheet2

sheet2 has sequential numbers in column1 starting in row2 with the number 1 until wherever..., so cell A2 has number 1, cell A3 has number 2, etc...

Manually, a user has to fill in certain text next to a number.

This for example would look something like this:

In a cell on sheet1 I now need the number from column A displayed, that has the latest entry in column B.

In the example above this would have to be the number 3 in cell A4, because right next to it (in cell B4) is the last entry "Whatever the third error would be..."

Addition: There are several sheets, each sheet stands for one error listed on sheet1 in column A

sheet1 for example would look like this:

I have numbers in cells d1 to kq1 (1 to 300) d1=1, e1=2, f1=3 and so on

What I want to do is:

In D2 through to kq2 it puts the number in to the cell that correspnds to a multiple of the number in b2.
That would put 1000 in cells m2,w2,ag2,aq2, ba2 and so on
In D3 through to kg3 it it puts the number in to the cell that corresponds to a multiple of the number in b3
that would put 1580 in cells y3,au3,bq3,cm3,di3 and so on

Make Unique List From List Without Duplicates But Hold Cell And Pull Corresponding Dates

I have my dummy data, and I have (what I think) is how I want the data to be shown. My friend uses Google Sheets, but I prefer Excel. I am trying to convert the code because I am a stickler for excel. Typically I can convert codes some easily, but this is way beyond me.

For Column A: I want to create a list on sheet 'Setup!' based on ids!D2:D="yes". If that list has duplicate entries, I would like only the first entry to show up, but for the next entries I would like the cell to be blank. (this is important for the next step) For Column C: I want to have the corresponding dates go with the name entry. For Column D: I want to have the notes go with the corresponding date entry. (I believe I can manipulate Column C's code to do Column D myself).

I am also going to upload a data sheet, and an expected results sheet.

Put List Of Cells Into UserForm Textbox And Have List Assigned Cell Value?

I would like to take a List of numbers, which come from a separate spreadsheet, place them into a UserForm text box and then use a command button to input the list of numbers into a column of cells. The list would often vary, between 1 and 10 entries. But if I could do this, I would be able to resolve an issue with my spreadsheet that continues to haunt me (the dreaded number stored as text.....). I know that you can assign a single textbox value to a single range-cell value. But if I could input a list at a time, it would obviously save a lot of effort.

Example

In spreadsheet #1, I would copy the list below.

25466
87550
66985
44252

In the user form I would paste these numbers into the text box and they would be input into Sheet #2

B6 = 25466
B7 = 87550
etc. etc.

Sum If Number Contained In A List

I have uploaded an example file and I need a formula to sum only the entries that are listed on the lookup sheet which match the contract name.

In order to do this the formula will need to look in column G and if there is a match on the lookup sheet then sum column Q. It would also need to match the contract name column U with Column B

I have provided an example of what I need as my description is not very clear.

The formulas would be required in the pink cells.

Few things to note,

-Square brackets above represent the column letters and row numbers.

I have a prob. that shouldn't be so hard but I just cant find the syntax how to do it. I have a drop down list with dynamic content, that is, it´s not an array but the contents will change upon what the user is doing with the user form. Now, I need to find out the row number of the cell with the variable in it.
Ex:

Drop down lost contains "Sarah" in A1, "Pete" in A3, "Bob" in A4, "Sarah" in A5.
When the user chooses Pete and push a button I want the number "3". It could be stored in another cell or whatever. Since the contents will change I cannot use an array or a fixed column.

A drop-down list displays the values 1 through 15. Cell A1 changes to 20
Drop-down list displays the values 1 through 20. I assume I'll need a two-step macro to accomplish this but I can't figure out the logic to populate the drop-down.

I have 3 related dropdown lists that work perfectly, if you enter data from left to right. But, if you click in the cell containing the second list, which is based on the first list, of which nothing has been selected, you can just type any value in the cell. Is there a way to prevent this, or at least validate that what is entered is a value in the list.

We recently bought some new software at work, and I'm having trouble formatting the exported data in a way that will work with existing reports. The attached file is what the data looks like after being exported. Basically, what I'm trying to do is insert rows for the missing numbers -- i.e., each name should be followed by rows numbered 1 through 10.

My ultimate end goal is to have columns of data for each name, instead of rows:

John Smith 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10

I've created a formula that can do that part, but it operates on the assumption that each name will be followed by a set number of rows.

What little I know about vba I've learned on my own, so I may just be missing something obvious.

so instead of doing =sum(a1:a12)/12 i want to divide by the amount of numbers in that area in this case 10 so i can get an average.

Generating Random Number List

I have a spreadsheet of 1000+ companies and I want to take a random sampling of 100 of them. I would assume this could be accomplished by auto-filling a numerical value to each line of data (which I did), then scrambling only the column with the numbers (which I can't figure out), and then selecting the entire text and resorting it to put the numbers back in order and then just work with the first 100 rows (which I can do, if I knew how to make the numbers random).

Find Predominant Number In List

I have a basic understanding of simple calculations but beyond that I am kind of lost.

I have a list of numbers ranging from $9,516 to $110,000 and I am trying to figure out a manner to determine what is the most common number rounded to the nearest $10,000.

When I use the mode function it only tells me the absolute number that has the most occurences. I am trying to determine the predominate group in the overall range. Basically I want to count the number of occurences in the forty thousand range, fifty thousand range, etc. so I can determine what is the most popular $10,000 range.
