# Hourly Average With 15 Minute Data

## I have a large sheet with the values of power from a counter in a 15 minute base. A B 01.01.09 00:15 0,25 01.01.09 00:30 1,15 01.01.09 00:45 0,75 01.01.09 01:00 2,01 and son on until the end of the month What I am trying to do is to create a macro which calculates the average per hour and put in another columns like this: 01.01.09 01:00 average from 00:15 until 01:00 01.01.09 02:00 average from 01:15 until 02:00 and so on until the end of the month.

I have an excel work sheet with 2 columns and hundreds of rows. The first column is time in minutes over a number a years and the second is a list of corresponding data readings (numbers). I want to only select on the hour data from the list however I cannot seem to do it. The times vary in the sense that they are not all just 1 minute apart, some are every minute, then there might be a 10 minute gap in data, a few more minutes, then another gap etc.. All I want to be able to do is to select all the on the hour data from the list and its corresponding data value.

I have a dataset in one column. Here 4 cells should be turned into 1 in a new column using a middelvalue.

How do i get excel to do this, so it uses 4 new cells from the first row to every new cell in the new column?

Return One Value Per Day (from Hourly Data)?
I have a list of days and hours, and data for whether a type of event either did or did not occur for each sampled hour. I need to return a new value, some sort of "Event Day" value, which will essentially tell me if an event occurred at least once for each day.

Attached is a sheet with 4 days' worth of data. Jan 1st and 3rd 2006 are my two "Event Days".

To complicate things, I can't be sure I have 24 hour readings for each day, so I can't assume each day is a data range (e.g. A1:A24). Hours might be missing. (As such, I am trying to organise along the lines of IF the preceding cell is the same date...)

I also have lots of data stored as months, so would love a formula I could just autofill down. All it needs to do is effectively flag up for me when a day has experienced one event.

I'm trying to create a macro to loop through daily one minute data.I believe the flowchart would be something like:

For each day in recordset

Loop through each minute record

Run system rules

Copy to Seperate worksheet

End

Data is in columns B-G (Date,Time,Open,High,Low, Close)

Sample system could be something like:

If Current record close price is > Past 2 records Close Price Then
Liquidate if poistion moves against by 10%
Take Profit if position increases by 5%
Else close by days end

Hourly Census Formula
I have been using the attached formula to calculate total volume (customers seen) by hour (between 1 and 2, 2 and 3 and so on...). But how can I change this formula to take a census at a certain period of time (let's do it on the hour to be easy) instead of double-counting those who were there, but left in the same hour and those who just entered in the same hour. I hope this makes sense...a true census really should not count two people twice though which I think is happening here...

I hate to create a sense of urgency, but would love to begin working on this later tonight. Please let me know if you need more detail.

Calculate An Hourly Wage
I am trying to build a costings sheet for shift work. The first problem I am experiencing is getting excel to split up a shift into the different bands.

For example the shift needs to be calculated on different rate bands, from 00:00 to 08:00, 08:00 to 19:00 and then 19:00 to 00:00. There is a different hourly rate for each band. Therefore if I enter a start time and end time, I need excel to calculate the total charge over the different rate bands.

For example a shift 07:00 - 21:00 would have:

1 hour 07:00 - 08:00 at Night rate
11 hours 08:00 to 19:00 at Day Rate
2 hours 19:00 to 21:00 at Night Rate

Once I have this worked out I have the added complication of different rates on Friday evening,s, Saturdays and Sundays etc. But at the moment one problem at a time !

Updating Hourly Rates
I am trying to create a conditional formula. I have multiple workers that work for different \$\$ per hour. I am keeping the hourly rates on one page for security purposes (the person that is going to be updating the hours worked is not very computer savy and they less they have to type the better) and the hours on another... I want copy a formula down the page that will calculate the hours to the hourly rate. The issue is that i want the formula to look at all of the hourly rates (assume they get raises) for Joe and multiply the most recent hourly rate times the hours... in addition I don't want the formula to re-calculate when a new hourly rate is put into the hours sheet.

Example

Jan. 1 joe works 8hours at \$10 per hour formula in A1 (or wherever) calculates \$80
Jan. 2 joe gets \$1 raise
Jan. 2 Joe works 8 hours at \$11 per hour formual in A2 calculates \$88 but formula in A1 maintains the \$80 and does not calculate the \$1 raise.

Summing Hourly Values
I have a list of values at 'x' min intervals (the intervals sometime changes). I want to sum each hour's values eg. between 0:0:0 hour and 0:59:59, I want to add values 1040+800+860+870. Then I want to proceed and add all values for the next hour i.e. between 1:0:0 and 1:59:59, and so on. I have about 65000 of these calculations to do, so the need for some vba programming.

I 've used the site many times in the past, but this is my first post.

Above is a small example of the data Im working with. I'm not wanting to plot all of this out by hand, so hopefully someone can help (there are around 30,000 samples). I'm looking to track by hour when a customer is actual here. The first row is one customer in @ 00:22 and out the next day at 14:05.

I would like to have dates of the year down column A and hours 0 through 23 across row 1. Then a number of customer here on 1/1/2008 by every hour of the day on to 1/2/2008 so on and so.

Scheduling Macros: Run On An Hourly Basis
I have a macro that I want to run on an hourly basis, say at 9am, 10am, etc whenever the workbook is open. This needs to be definable as I have several users that will be conducting the same activity throughout the day. In other words I want the macro to run on the hour for user 1, quarter past the hour for user 2, half past for user 3 and quarter to for user 4. Each user does have their own unique macro to run so it should (hopefully) just mean introducing a line of code to each, defining the time to run.

60 Minute Time To 100 Minute Time
Is there a formula that will calculate standard 60 minute time in to 100 dinute time? Example 2:21 = 2:35. I know how to get to the answer with a calculator, but would like a formula to cut out all of the extra steps.

Finding Page Per Minute
i am using excel 2007 on windows xp. here is what i have, i have 5 scanners that i want to track to see how much they scan per minute in a day, week, and month period. here are my data in excel for one scanner in a 8 hour shift:

it should come out to 10.63 but it doesnt.

Active Clock That Updates By The Minute
Is there anyway of getting an "Active Clock" in a cell.
I know the =now() thing, but this is not what I am looking for,

Round A Time Entry To The Next 30 Minute Increment
I have a worksheet that I enter time values into individual cells:

A1 = 6:00
B1 = 12:00
C1 = 12:45
D1 = 17:15

When I enter these values, I would like some of the values to round to the
next higher "30 minute increment" such as Cell C1 should become 13:00.

I would also like some of the values to round back to the next lower "30
minute increment" such as Cell D1 should become 17:00.

Simple Copy And Update Cell Value Every Minute
I am trying to grab the value of a cell every time it updates and copy that value and store in a new cell.

So I have a cell (A2) and it updates every 60 seconds, I need that value for t=1 (first time) to be copy and pasted into a new cell (B2). Then when t=2 (second time, 60 seconds later) I need the value to be pasted into the same column but a new row, namely cell C2. Then when t=3 (third time), I need it to be copied to cell D2 and so on.

I'm assuming it just a macro that is called every 60 seconds and grabs the value of A2, but then needs to find the next cell in column B that is empty and paste it there.

Time Clock Six Minute Rounding Formula
I am trying to figure out the written formula for needing this answer:

For a time clock with 6 minute rounding.

If I type in 8:20 as the arrival time, I need it to round to 8:18, so that the final time will be in tenths.

Anything in the same line will round to the bolded time.

Example: I arrive to work at 8:09 and go to lunch at 11:59, it will round to 8:12 and 12:00, making my time worked 3:48 or 3.80. Then I get back from lunch at 12:59 and leave at 17:14, which will round to 13:00 and 17:12, making my time worked 4:12 or 4.2 for the 2nd 1/2 of the day and 8:00 or 8.0 hours for the day.

The problem is I want to write the actual time and not have to round everything myself and yet I need the decimal time to match what my time clock actually calculates from.

My current formula for the decimal shown above as 3.80 is this: =(HOUR(F7)*60+MINUTE(F7))/60
My current formula for the total time for the day (regular hours) is this: =IF((((E7-D7)+(I7-H7))*24)>8,8,((E7-D7)+(I7-H7))*24)
My current formula for overtime is this: =IF(((E7-D7)+(I7-H7))*24>8,((E7-D7)+(I7-H7))*24-8,0)

This is not a time clock, it is my personal copy of what my time for the week was/is, so that I can compare it to the actual time card that I have to sign off on.

We have a system called Datamart that outputs in excel formatted file.

The output of a duration is : 22.00:8.00:25.00 ( day hour minutes )

I want to be able to add, subtract, average, calculate the 10 fastest/slowests durations from a list of durations in this same format. I have googled and tried custom formatting but excel does not like this format. when I try to sum a range and divide by the number excel gives me 0.

I have a script that pulls my stock prices every minute and update an excel page I've created...basically an excel stock portfolio...the problem I'm running into is when a stock is unchanged...instead of being \$0.00 it returns "unch"...as you can imagine this throws my calculations into chaos...I have the following formula but it doesn't seem to be working =IF(J18<0,R18*J18,(IF(J18>0,R18*J18,0)))

Basically J18 is the returned change in stock price...R18 is the number of shares held...how can I get it to view "unch" as \$0.00?

Get Pivot Data: Pull Out The Data From The First Column(A), And Then Average
I have a Pivot Table, with lots of data in, what I want to be able to do is on a separate sheet pull out the data from the first column(A), and then average out the figures from Columns(B-E).

When this has been done on the sheet (with the average data) in the next column, I then want to use Column(F) (from Pivot Table), and do a simple sum to work out 5% of the difference if it is greater than ZERO between Average Column and Column(F) (from pivot Table) Column(F) must be higher than the average in order to work out the 5%.

Hi there, been using this for a number of years now, but never had to post a question - I guess most things are already answered - but this one is a bit more tricky.

I want to calculate a totals and a weighted average based on months from a data set that has duplicate ID's and variable data (attached example).

I would like to calculate the total tonnes by month and the average grade of those tonnes. Using the 'month ID table' as a reference to the 'Raw Data table'.

What I need is a formula that will average the last 12 rows of data so that when a new record is added, the average will update automatically to include the newly added row, but still only look at the 12 rows (i.e. for the data as listed it would average rows 13:24 (Oct-08 to Sep-09), but when data for October is added, it would average rows 14:25 (Nov-08 to Oct-09).

Average Data With Specific Criteria
I have a data base with 12 columns of data. I need it to look for one criteria in one row, match it, look for another criteria in another row, match that, and then once those criteria are met, average those rows that met the criteria with the statistics in that row that contains a value.

What I need is the formula to search in through the data, look for Tom, then find all the ones that say UnTimed, and then average the number in column 2 that match those criteria.

Average Calculation Only When Cell Has Data
Im trying to work out a function that will calculate the average accross a 3 column array. Obviously there is but I need to make any cell's with 'Free' give a value of 0.

I need some kind of IF("Free",1) type thing, to run before the average calculation, but I dont know how to put it together to make it work, I thought about a Loop, but then how do I make sure it only goes to the next cell in the selection?

I have a workbook with two sheets - DATA and SUMMARY.
DATA has two columns - date and data_value. Data will be added to this sheet on a regular basis

Summarize Daily Data Into Weekly Average
I have two time series which span several years. The first series measures stock levels on every Friday (52 values a year). The second series measures the price level every weekday (260 values a year).

I'd like to condense the daily data in to a weekly average, can I do this easily? For example, I could manually use the Weeknum function to calculate the week number of each daily price data, then find the average daily price for each week, thus giving me 52 values which I can compare to the weekly stock series. Is there an automatic, fast way of doing this? Alternatively, I'd be happy to settle with a monthly average. Is this possible via macro's or does VBA need to be used?

After manipulating the received data I need to Average one column that has been sorted into a number of blocks consisting of variable numbers of rows and post the result to the ajacent cell. Average Of A Series Of Data (advanced) Column Reference
i need to write a formula that spits out the average of a series of numbers when (if):

every time "CAD" appears (column A) it takes the numerical figure of the cell directly to the right of it (column B). the data is arrange vertically, e.g., the range of "CAD"s is all vertical (column A), about 200 entries.
