I have a range of numbers that are not completely sequential and I'd like to separate them out into their individual numbers. In cell A1 I have displaying "1-30" and then in cell A2 I have "50-72" and A3 "100-105", et cetera. I 'd like to have cell B1 through B30 display 1 through 30 (1 in B1, 2 in B2, 3 in B3...) respectively, and then cell B31 through B53 would have 50 through 72.
I need to create a formula that can dynamically pick up the last number after the "-" so that it can work for any number range of any length. I've tried using left and right but that doesn't help when moving from the 10's digits to 100's digits.
Column 1 has 1200-1209,1300-1350,1523-1563 Column 2 has 1400-1409,1600-1650,1823-1863
I would like to take the range of e.g. 1200-1209 and have excel put 1200 1201 1202 1203 1204 1205 1206 1207 1208 1209 into separate adjacent cells for me. And be able to do this for each column/cell of data I have like this.
I have a function which copy pastes data into a sheet based on a filter criteria. It is also pasted in a specific layout(shown below) starting from Cell A1 in the top left corner. Therefore the destination sheet could have a different number of rows with values each time.
What I would like to do is count the sum of 'Values' in the destination sheet, and add a total below it.
For example, the [=TOTAL] cell is where I want the total to appear. Below the answer would be 26. But say if Peter wasnt in the record, the formula should still work in identifying the Total as 20.
Title: Sheridan Owner Petrov G
[Code]....
Is there a way I can achieve the desired result? I figured I had to somehow count from the first record by Peter, to the last one, whichever that may be.
I have a long (~42,000) list of dates and times (some including zeros). I would like to name these ranges and use a formula to find the last entry in each column. I know the lists will never go over 45,000.
The data is in this format:
1/31/14 23:58:00 1/30/14
[Code]....
The data will not always be consecutive, so I imagine the criteria would be something like (if there were such a thing) "ISDATE" or something of the sort.
How would I write a formula to dynamically calculate the row number of the last date or time in the column? (In this case, it would be 6.)
I have what I thought was going to be a simple function to create and, after a week of getting more error messages than I've had in a year, I'm ready to throw in the towel. Situation: There are two worksheets in the same workbook [Excel 2003]. One is for "Posting" details about technicians and their work orders. The other is a "Report" that summarizes the number of workorders open, closed, etc.
In the "Posting" sheet, I have created dynamic name ranges for two columns: Technician (4-digit text field) and InDate (date field that, if blank, means that the technician has not closed this work order. My ranges are set up like this:
So all I need to do is to total all the blank InDates for each Technician by employee number. I've tried COUNT to SUMPRODUCT. A co-worker got it to work with using...=SUMPRODUCT((ISBLANK(Posting!$D$2:$D$65307))*(Posting!$B$2:$B$65307=4288)) His solution was to list almost every available cell in each column. I just can't help but think that the dynamic name range should be able to work but I can't get it right. I think I'll choke if I get one more "N/A" or "VALUE! error.
I have read a number of posts and other sites and can create the hyperlink in the desired cell but get an error message to the effect, "Cannot open the workbook."
The current macro follows. I believe its description is made in the comment statements below the date-author comment.
Sub DecomposeCTQ() 'Decompose CTQ Macro '14Oct13 Charles T. Carroll' 'This macro copies the template to a new worksheet and takes data from the' ' active cell CTQ and makes it the parent CTQ on the new worksheet. Then' ' it renames the new worksheet with the active cell CTQ ID.' If ActiveCell.Column 2 Then MsgBox "You must be in the CTQ ID Column to run this program" GoTo Leave
I have a range which will change in size & in content, & I want this to be a Named Range at whatever size it is.
Reason I want to is because I want to make a Validation List with this dynamic range. I also want a Validation list which lists the content of 2 or more dynamic ranges which may or may not be on the same worksheet - is this possible?
i.e. First dynamic range: called "Milestones" at A11 Second dynamic range: called "Activities" at A25 & make a Validation list that will list content of both
I have column A which shows the quantity of a product that I have in stock
A1: 20 A2: 20 A3: 20
I also have column D which shows an increasing income, the amount of the increase varies daily but what I need to achieve is that every time cell D is greater than 50 then cell A4 should be the sum of A3 + the number of '50's that were in D3.
So in this example A4 would increase to 22 (because I can spend 100 on 2 items of stock) and cell E3 would show the balance. In this example its 7.35
I have a file contains thousands of rows of purchasing order. the purchasing value is in different local currency, the data(number) format is "Accounting" .
Is there a way to separate the currency sign and the number into different column?
I need to the currency sign to be able to convert data to desired currency. But Excel read the data as number. so I was doing it row by row. Such a pain and not efficient.
How can I separate a text or a number. For example in column A I have a data written like these 123text, text1234, 123text123, 123-text and in column B I only want to put the text or the number only so it means that if I have in column A "123text" in column B I only want to put "text" word. Another information is that the number is not always 3 number and the text is not always 4 character.
I have a column of data that keeps getting new information in it. what i need is a named range that i can use for a chart, first point in the named range will be the first value in the column, second point will be avg. of point 1 and 2, then 3rd point will be avg. of 1,2,3 etc.
I was hoping that then when i go to data > Pivot table and it asks for the range i could put =Data but it tells me that the range is invalid. I have attached a copy at the bottom.
Excel 2003: I need code that, when an "x" is entered in a cell in the "Activity" worksheet to assign a temporary unit #, it will look for the next available Temporary Unit # in the "Assign" worksheet. Then mark that unit # as "assigned" (by placing an "X" in the column next to it) and copy it to a cell in the "Activity" sheet.
I will be doing the same thing with assigning different types of PO numbers. I figure if I have the code for the Unit #, I can use the same logic for the other assignments, with some modifications, of course.
I've attached a sample workbook.
If I am not considering the most effective way to accomplish what I am trying to do here, I have no ego at all about someone suggesting a better solution.
My searches have not produced anything that I could apply to this situation.
I'm trying to write VBA that would:
1. Search a Workbook for Dynamic Ranges.
2. When a Dynamic Range is found the code would:
A. Determine the current coordinates for the range. B. Change the "Refers To" value From "=OFFSET...." To "=Worksheet_Name $Column$Row:$Column$Row"
3. Save Changes.
4. Close File.
My apologies but I have very little experience in writing VBA. I understand about variables, arguments, and IF/THEN but just enough to use functions within Excel.
I am trying to put all my parts with quantities on a seperate sheet called "Parts List" Every time you select a quanity for one of the parts, I want it to pop up on my parts list. This will make it easier to identify the exact parts I want and also the quantity I need. This will be much more convenient then scrolling down my parts list and trying to find the one's with quantities.
I think I need to use a vlookup or even a Macro but I don't know how to go about doing this.
I need a VBA function to extract number sequences from a string and separate them with hyphens In the example below cell A1 has the value 'xx2 yyy34 zz515' The code must produce the value '2-34-515' from the above example I have the following function that extracts the numbers but need a way to separate the groups with a hyphen
Code: Function parseNum(strSearch As String) As String Dim i As Integer, tempVal As String For i = 1 To Len(strSearch)
I have a very long Excel spreadsheet (>2500 rows by approx 20 columns) that consists of >400 customer statements. At the top of each invoice, in colun B, is the text "Service Requestor Contract Number", and 5 rows down is the respective contract number. Further down (and the number of rows differ for each contract as each has its own unique level of detail) , again in column B is the text "Current Month Charges", and on the same row, in columns K and O, the current month number of items sold and $ charges respectfully. The spreadsheet is NOT paginated for each respective statement.
What I need to do on a separate spreadsheet is sum, by contract, both the number of widgets sold, as well as the amounts due.
I have a range of data that will grow as the days of the month pass but I need to run calculations on this range. The data is 13 columns wide but the number of rows will increase daily. I remember using a formula in the Define Range that would automatically take into account new additions using the OFFSET function but cannot for the life of me think how exactly to do it.
Line of code that will Select a Named Range in this case I have Named a CELL "DataSummary" Need to use that named range by selecting 30 columns and 54 rows.
I have been working on part of the code for my spreadsheet and it works fine in the spreadsheet “Databaseform” however when I copied the code to my master spreadsheet “Paul_PartLocDBCombo” it does not work, I get the error:
Method ‘ range’ of object ‘_worksheet’ failed The code is then highlighted in yellow, the code is: Set rng = wksPartsData.Range("a1", Range("a65536").End(xlUp))
Meaning this part is incorrect but I don’t know why? To work it: go to Databaseform and press start. Enter 7mm in the product field and press find all. It will then return all the matching results in the userform. Its this I want to try and achieve on the other spreadsheet when the button find label is pressed.
Want to be able to select a month (Jan - Dec) set in a range A1:L1. When the selection is made, I want the selected cell to be displayed in a separate location e.g. cell C4, but if the selection is outside the range A1:L1 then C4 to remain blank.
The following code takes a large range of data (currently 20K+ rows) and breaks it out into separate worksheets. This takes a while, and I have been trying to insert a progress bar into this macro, but the progress bar goes in reverse (from 100 to 0) but the userform will not unload at the end.
Sub MoveCells() Dim objBook As Workbook Dim objSheet As Worksheet Dim lngRowSpace As Long Dim strName As String Dim lngTimeRow As Long Dim lngStartRow As Long Dim lngInteration As Long Dim strDataSheet As String Dim boolError As Boolean Dim counter As Integer Dim PctDone As Single
In a macro, I need to apply a formula to a dynamic number of rows (the lenght of the file will change evryday).
My problem is that when I have recorded the macro, the code tells to apply the formula from row 1 to 3 as today there are 3 rows in my file but tomorrow i might have 10 or 1000.
What code should I use to apply the formula to as many rows as my spreadhsheet contains?
I have an excel workbook, and in that workbook, i have one worksheet with multiple tables. Any sample code wherein i can save in a seperate excel file the range that i selected?? because the tables in the worksheet are in different ranges and i would like to save just a part of that table in a separate excel file..
