Macro To Link Large Number Of Cells Between Worksheets

I would like to write a macro that links cells in one workbook (working) to cells in another workbook (summary).

I don't want this to be a straight swap thought, I'd like it to contain the following formula:

=IF(Working!G8="a","a","")

The cells in the working workbook are listed vertically, while the cells in the summary workbook are listed horizontally.

ie. link G8-G18 in working to B3-K3 in summary
link H8-H18 in working to B4-K4 in summary

Stop Scientific Format For Large Numbers

Nov 21, 2006

Im importing figures into column G of my worksheet, and I need a code so it automatically adds a "0" to the start of each row in column G plus format it.

For example, im pasting in 970702090341 but its showing as 9.70702E+11.

Once I format the cell to 'number' and 0 decimal places it looks fine, but want to save the hassle of doing it each time. Plus I need a zero at the start.

Is there a code possible for this?

Splitting Large Table Into Separate Worksheets Keeping Format Same

Apr 26, 2013

I have 2 large XLS sheets that need to be split into seperate sheets.

The first is only 5 columns wide but the amount of rows changes day to day.

The second is a maximum of 7 columns wide and again the amount of rows will change.

I'm hoping for a VBA code to be able to do both on seperate books.

The A Column has the name of the company, and this can include (/,&) that will need to be removed, the names can also exceed 31 characters.
I would like to seperate the sheets by the company name and have the name appear as the sheet name.

Also the formatting from the master sheet to be copied to the resulting sheets, with a header row.

I have included the data for the larger of the two workbooks. data.jpg I have to pull the smaller report each day and the larger report each week.

Macro To Format Cells Only Once

Jul 5, 2012

I have a spreadsheet that uses a macro to format it. It’s quite simple and the code is shown below:

Code:
Range("A1:D2").Select
Selection.Borders(xlDiagonalDown).LineStyle = xlNone
Selection.Borders(xlDiagonalUp).LineStyle = xlNone
With Selection.Borders(xlEdgeLeft)
.LineStyle = xlContinuous
.Weight = xlThin
.ColorIndex = xlAutomatic

[Code] ...........

The spreadsheet will have info constantly added on (downloaded from a CSV).

What I would like the spreadsheet to do is look at the cells and only format those that have data in them but are not already formatted – otherwise I’ll just end up re-formatting everything every time and as the spreadsheet gets bigger it'll take longer and longer.

Count Conditional Format Cells In Date Range

Apr 30, 2009

Hello, we have a stop light spreadsheet for status with several different projects. In each row there are conditional format status green - good, yellow - needs work, red - bad...based on data from another tab.

There is an "overall status" column that pulls the worst color that exists for a given row.

=IF(COUNTIF(F1:V1,"r")>0,"R",IF(COUNTIF(F1:V1,"y")>0,"Y",IF(COUNTIF(F1:V1,"g")>0,"G","")))

There is also a date for each row. Now we want to pull the worst color in the "overall status" column for a date range...and display that on a separate summary tab.

For 4/1/09 thru 4/15/09 - pull the worst color from the "overall status" column from that date range.

Format Color For Range Of Cells Based On Cell Value

Jul 1, 2008

I have been tasked with creating a Macro in order to help speed up a rather simple set of steps that are taken to format a spreadsheet each day. The last step, however, is not so simple. I would like to add a statement to the macro code that does that following:

Based on the value of a specific cell, color the cell and all corresponding cells within the same row (from colums A to AA) yellow. Essentially, cells in column D may have a the value "No Allocation", and if they do, I will need to format that cell yellow as well as all the cells within the same row for the colume range A to AA.

Format A Range Of Cells, Columns And Rows Will Vary In Length

Jun 16, 2009

I created a macro on an Excel spreadsheet:

Sub Macro1()

Range("C11:D19").Select
Selection.NumberFormat = "$#,##0.00_);($#,##0.00)"
Range("E5:E20").Select
Selection.NumberFormat = "0.00%"
Range("D24:E43").Select
Selection.NumberFormat = "$#,##0.00_);($#,##0.00)"
ActiveWindow.SmallScroll Down:=24
Range("D58:E339").Select
Selection.NumberFormat = "$#,##0.00_);($#,##0.00)"
ActiveWindow.SmallScroll Down:=57

End Sub

When the macro is run, it works with the exact amount of data that I've entered.

However, because I have specified a specific range, if I add a row or column of data to the spreadsheet and run the macro again, it throws the whole thing off (certain cells get formatted when they shouldn't and others aren't formatted)

How do I tell the macro to look in the spreadsheet for varying ranges of data and format those cells?

Automatically Format Range Based On Formula Result Of Cells

May 16, 2009

The following code works perfect but the "change" event is only triggered when working directly on intersect range. Tried using the "calculation" event but could not figure it out. This is what I want:

1) To replace the code provided below using the calculation event
2) To only trigger the event for the row(s) where the new value was generated, not for the whole "For Each" statement
3) To use one single code for all worksheets, instead of copying the code in every working worksheet on the workbook, if feasible
4) And I would like a "second alternative", where the user of the workbook can click on a button and trigger the event on every row on the workbook that has a non empty cell within the intersect range, assuming that the intersect range column is the same for all worksheets

Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
Dim c As Range, d As Range, fc As Long, bc As Long, bf As Boolean
Set d = Intersect(Range("I:I"), Target)
If d Is Nothing Then Exit Sub
For Each c In d
Select Case UCase(c)
Case "C"
fc = 1: fb = True: bc = 4
Case "O"
fc = 2: fb = True: bc = 3
Case "D"
fc = 2: fb = True: bc = 46
Case "G"
fc = 2: fb = True: bc = 5..................

1. If all cells on sheet 2 in range A1:A10 were false then cell A1 on sheet 1 would be red.

2. If some cells on sheet 2 in the range A1:A10 were false and some were true then cell A1 on sheet 1 would be yellow.

3. If all cells on sheet 2 in range A1:A10 were true then cell A1 on sheet 1 would be green.

Macro To Conditionally Format Referenced Cells In Another Sheet

Apr 27, 2013

A
B
C
D

[Code]....

There are four sheets (labeled A,B,C)

Depending on the contents in cells in Columns A and B (which have 1000+ rows), I want to change the background color of a referenced cell elsewhere:

For each row (lets say from 2-1000)

1. If "A" cell is blank -- referenced cell (address in columns C & D) should be colorless -- (as in Row 2 --- cell Z5 in Sheet "C" should be colorless)

2. If "A" cell has text AND "B" cell is blank, reference cell should be colored BLUE -- (as in Row 3 --- Cell F3 in Sheet "C" should be BLUE)

3. If both "A" and "B" cells have text, reference cell should be colored YELLOW -- (as in Row 4 --- Cell C5 in Sheet "B" should be YELLOW)

While I could do this with a conditional format in every referenced cell, it would take too long to enter them.
