How I can merge multiple word documents based on checkboxes selected on Excel.
Specifically, I have some 75 checkboxes found on Column F with linked cells on Column G (for example, checkbox1 place on Cell F1 linked to Cell G1). Each of the checkboxes have a corresponding Word document (containing text and tables about 1 to 4 pages in length). Based on what checkboxes are selected, I'd like to have those corresponding Word documents merge together and create an entirely new Word file (for sake of order, the datapoints from each selected Word document should be placed at the beginning of a new page in the new file).
The user will eventually name and save the new file on their own.
I'm not familiar with the required code as well as where it should be placed (whether on the excel file that contains the checkboxes, on the individual word documents that are eligible to be merged, or parsed out on all files).
I have about 600 Word Documents that contains information about clients. Each Word document file name is the name of the client. Example. Tom Smith. I wanted to be able to highlight all 600 word documents and paste them into Excel, so that I can press Ctrl-F to find what ever name it is I'm looking for, then click the name and the word document open. Is this possible?
Basically I have manually generated word documents based on a spreadsheet. Now, I need to countercheck the contents of the word documents with another spreadsheet i.e. make sure the courses in the word document for a particular student is same as that reflected on the spread sheet. Is it possible to write a macro for this? I'm a beginner and I'm waaay out of my depth. I have attached sample documents and spreadsheets.
The link to the documents are as follows: Macro to check data from Word documents against an excel spread sheet
I need a little assistance opening a Word file via an Excel macro. The two files are linked and upon opening, the Word file asks if the links should be updated. I need this to automatically be "Yes" everytime the file is opened.
Below code is for splliting text file into multiple excel worksheet. I want to modify it to splitting text file into different msword documents in folder. Is it possible to change the code
Sub LargeFileImport()
'Dimension Variables Dim ResultStr As String Dim FileName As String Dim FileNum As Integer Dim Counter As Double 'Ask User for File's Name FileName = InputBox("Please enter the Text File's name, e.g. test.txt")
How would I modify the below code to extract all of this data from multiple files? I have about a 1000 files that I need to extract all of the data from to manipulate in Excel.
Code: Sub ImportWordTable() Dim wdDoc As Object Dim wdFileName As Variant Dim TableNo As Integer 'table number in WordDim iRow As Long '
i have a sheet that was originally built by someone to convert sheets that you select in a userform to PDF, i have tried to adapt this to convert to word, but with my limited know how i'm losing this battle.
i've attached a copy of the sheet with the code i've been trying to mix & match Word save all selected sheets in one Word doc..xlsm
I am having problems opening Excel documents on first try. If I double click a excel doc icon it will start excel, hang for about a minute and a half then just display a excel blank doc. If I then go back to the original doc icon with excel still open and double click it again the document appears.
I have used MS Office Excel 2003 for many years without difficulty in XP. Suddenly I find I can't open many of my old documents. I get a message,"Microsoft Office (InfoPath2003) cannot open (the following file, etc.) A second message says, "The form contains XML that is not parsed: An invalid character was found in the content. Line 0, Position 0" Then I get the message "MS Office is not currently set as default." I complete the instructions that follow and it is now corrected but I continue to get the same error messages.
I have MS Office 2010 Home Edition. Is there a way to make 2 different Excel docs show up on 2 different monitors at the same time (one on each, of course)? (I have a PC and 2 displays total.)
Some of my Excel files work perfectly in terms of undo/redo, while others simply cannot use that feature. I took a stroll through the internet looking for the answer, but the issues that I found seemed to point to the application losing its ability, which was resolved with a registry edit/update/change. I don't think that's the case here because I CAN undo is SOME documents.
After some investigation with my problem documents I have found that THIS Macro is the one thing all my undo-free documents have in common: [URL]
I need to count how many times the word Test is in the range B4:H9 with
Range N2 = Test the formula below works if Test is only in the cell once.
=COUNTIF($B$4:$H$9,"*" & N2 & "*")
But I have data in cells like below, this is all in one cell, so how would I have it count all the times test is in the range when some cells have test 2 or more times in a single cell?
1. I have a excel file with Japanese words in column A and their English equivalents in column B.
2. I am trying to create a Macro and assign it to a button. On pressing the button Macro should be able to:
3. open a form where I can enter location of a word file.
4. Macro should open the word file specified in (3).
5. Macro will pick up first Japanese word from excel file (Sheet 1 - A1)
6. Search for that word in Word file
7. Replace the Japanese words in Word file with their English equivalent from excel (B1)
8. Then it should search for second word (A2) and replace with its equivalent (B2) and so on till it reaches last filled cell in excel file column A.
After a lot of search I could find a code from net (Below), made a few changes, but it is not working.

I am in the middle of automating a process here at work, the program takes a word, "pencil" for example, from excel. It will then open up a word document with content already in it (premade template). The program will then find all instances of a string, "placepencilhere" for example, and will replace that instance with the string from excel.
Basically I want to be able to take a variable that has a stored string value from excel and use it to replace another variable in a word document.
I tried recording a replace (ctrl+f, replace tab) macro, copying the code, and inserting it into the excel vba code.. but I get a error message. Here is what I have:
I have placed ActiveX checkboxes on my worksheet. I would like to have some code that would uncheck them all at once, rather than some really long code unchecking each one individually (which is what I currently have). Is there code for this?
Well to start off I am using Excel 2007, I have an invoice template set up across two sheets (Invoice & Price Table), on the first page is the actual invoice that needs to be filled in. I have made an userform for being able to fill in the invoice number, what type of test was done, and also things like hours and miles (an their costs per also)
. Now I am wanting to try and get it to where I can have the form look at the type of test cell and from there select the price located on the second sheet that is appropriate to that type, the thing is, there are two possible prices that it can be depending on if the company wanted the results "rush". I was suggested that I could use a check box on the invoice to indicate in the spreadsheet that it is a rush, and somehow link that in with a vlookup to be able to get what I wanted, but I'm not sure exactly how I would go about doing that.
So I have an 2 ActiveX button and 2 ActiveX checkboxes. I have it set up so that the Split button will enable when both checkboxes are checked. The ClearAll button has a code/macro in it that will check the "Cleared All" checkbox when the Clearall button is pressed.
My problem is with the "Populated Data" checkbox. I want it to check/uncheck itself if there is anything in Range("A1") of a tab called "Data".
- 12 unique values in column 6 which represent states within the country. - 7 unique values in column 25 which represent the types of services. - 5 unique values in column 27 which represent the days for doing the services.
I also have a user form that contains CheckBoxes equivalent to all above unique values, and I want the CheckBoxes to do the duty of a filter, whereby after selecting the needed CheckBoxes and clicking on a seperate botton "creating report", I want to show on the spread sheet only the rows of the values being checked and all other rows which don't contain the needed values should be either hidden or deleted.
Using Excel 2007, I have a workbook with 7 sheets. The first one is a Navigation Page where I have checkboxes (form controls, not active X) with the names of the other 6 sheets. When the box(es) are checked, the sheet(s) become visible. I have accomplished this by assigning macros I recorded.
I need to now add the opposite: When the box(es) are unchecked, the sheets become hidden. From googling and looking for other threads/forums here, I gather that I need to add code/ VBA, but I know nothing about these at all.
As soon as i mark checkbox1, i want to send the checkbox Caption to A1. Then if i choose checkbox5 and mark it, i want to send the checkbox Caption to A2, which is in this case next cell available on colA.
I am using Excel 2013. I have an autofilter turned on for the columns in the spreadsheet. When I click on the filter button at the top of a column, the filter values do not have any check boxes next to them so I can't check any values. how to fix it so that it has checkboxes? I've attached a screen shot.
I thought this would be very easy to achieve in Excel but is proving difficult. Basically I have a number of excel worksheets with the headers as below. What I would like to do is to use the staff number from each worksheet to populate and sum a master worksheet. Some staff numbers will be in each of the workbooks while some are only in one. While the employee name should also be the same in each of the workbooks there are some differences in spelling etc.
Mon - Fri Mon - Sat Saturday Sunday/Public Hols OVERTIME Staff NoEmployee Name6 am - 11 am5pm - 12 Midnight12 Midnight - 8am8am - 12 Midnight8am Sun - 8am Mon
Basically I have a big table containing several columns for the different quarters. (Each quarter has several columns which are not all next to each other)
I would like to use 4 checkboxes which the user can select the show or hide the columns for that quarter. E.g. if Q1 and Q3 are checked only those are visible)
(if quarter 1 clicked than all columns are visible if unclicked hidden).
The code I have written workes well for the first checkbox (Q1), but for the other quarters (Q2, Q3 and Q4) the columns get hidden when checked (which should be the other way round) and don't get unhidden when unchecked.
Sub CheckboxQone() If Range("$A$1").Value = True Then Call showQ1 Else: Range("$A$1").Value = False Call hideQ1
I have an excel file which has many rows that are almost duplicate but some columns would differ, I would like to merge them, I will try to explain what I mean by "merge" .
Code : Sub Remove_Duplicate() Dim LASTROW As Long Dim I As Long Dim J As Long Dim K As Long Dim MyVALUE As Variant
[Code]....
Since I am very new to this language and my tinkering doesn't work at all. Whether or not a row is "almost duplicate" is based on columns A to G.
I have a workbook with multiple sheets (21 sheets) in it. The header on each sheet begins at row B5. The actual data starts from row B6. The number of rows in each sheet varies and the last row contains the total for all columns that has numbers. I wish to have one sheet that combines data from all the 21 sheets. But;
1) The header should be repeated only once 2) Only the rows that has data should be included, blank rows should be ignored 3) I do not need the last row i.e. total to be considered while merging the sheets
I've given a snapshot of the data below. The first column contains the row number just for reference.
B5 Name Address Telephone Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Total Other Members B6 Tony PQR Complex Road 1 12345678
I have two Spreadsheets on Excel 2003, one provided by a service supplier (i), and one from my own system (ii).
I need a macro attached to spreadsheet ii that looks for data matches between the F column of my spreadsheet, and the C column of the suppliers. Where data matches (i.e. if cell C42 in spreadsheet ii is the same as cell F23 in spreadsheet i) it transfers the contents of the A column of spreadhseet i and places it in the corresponding cell in the C column of spreadsheet ii.
Example 1 : In spreadsheet i cell C20=BN213YD. In spreadhseet ii cell F55=BN213YD. Therefore, the macro takes the contents of cell A20 in spreadsheet i and places it in cell C55 of spreadheet ii
Example 2 : In spreadsheet i Cell C75 = TN142XS. In spreadsheet ii this data is not found. The macro therefore takes no further action.
Basically, the suppliers spreadsheet has less information per row, but more entries overall. My spreadsheet is lacking a lot of suppliers references, but has more comprehensive information elsewhere. Until now i have been doing a manual search of the postcodes between the spreadsheets and rectifying them manually, but this is taking longer and longer as the spreadsheets grow.
I have two workbooks, Quotes and Invoices. They have a common field (column) between them called "QuoteID". Since not all quotes turn into invoices, there are more rows in the Quotes workbook than the Invoices one. Is it possible to match the "QuoteID" cell values in Invoices to just the ones in Quotes that match up, and then merge them into a new worksheet? If not, is there an add-on that will accomplish this?
