Macro To Check Data From Word Documents Against Excel Spreadsheet?

Jun 20, 2013

Basically I have manually generated word documents based on a spreadsheet. Now, I need to countercheck the contents of the word documents with another spreadsheet i.e. make sure the courses in the word document for a particular student is same as that reflected on the spread sheet. Is it possible to write a macro for this? I'm a beginner and I'm waaay out of my depth. I have attached sample documents and spreadsheets.

The link to the documents are as follows: Macro to check data from Word documents against an excel spread sheet

Is this possible?

Merging Word Documents Using Excel Checkboxes

Jul 12, 2014

How I can merge multiple word documents based on checkboxes selected on Excel.

Specifically, I have some 75 checkboxes found on Column F with linked cells on Column G (for example, checkbox1 place on Cell F1 linked to Cell G1). Each of the checkboxes have a corresponding Word document (containing text and tables about 1 to 4 pages in length). Based on what checkboxes are selected, I'd like to have those corresponding Word documents merge together and create an entirely new Word file (for sake of order, the datapoints from each selected Word document should be placed at the beginning of a new page in the new file).

The user will eventually name and save the new file on their own.

I'm not familiar with the required code as well as where it should be placed (whether on the excel file that contains the checkboxes, on the individual word documents that are eligible to be merged, or parsed out on all files).

Retaining Data From Excel In Word Template When Row Added From Spreadsheet

Jun 4, 2014

I want to pull data from my excel file (using VBA) into Ms Word. I created a template in Word and wrote a macro to do this, it worked, however, anytime a new row is inserted or deleted in my excel spreadsheet my macro produces wrong results in my Ms Word template because the cell position has shifted, thereby producing the wrong result. How do i make it that my result remain the same when new row is added to my spreadsheet.

Example:
Excel row1: vicky 528
row2: sam 532
row3: john 092
row4: Own 211 word template: 092

This is what happen next:

Excel (New row added) Macro: ThisDocument.ScreenedPatients.Caption = wb.Sheets("CSAs").Cells(16, 1)

row1: pat 542
row2: vicky 528
row3: sam 532
row4: john 092
row5: Own 211 resulting Word template(running macro): word template: 532

But I want John to automatically go on the Word template without going into macro to change it all the time when a new row is added.

Excel 2010 :: Populate UserForm In Word With Data From Spreadsheet

Feb 19, 2013

I have a word template that gives a popup when started for the user to fill out. At present this is okay, but it is hard to maintain. So what I want is to be able to add all needed information in Excel - since our tools have the possibility to export my needed info to this.

I have a spreadsheet in Excel 2010 named 'Input TR'. This info I want in the popup macro in word. When choosing name from a dropdown menu - I want Excel to give me the choices instead of having it in the coded macro. After I have choosen the name - I want the product belonging for this name in the 'Product/Service:' dropdown menu, e.g Test 1 will give the value 1...5. (I will only be able to choose one of them)

Today - everything is coded in the word2010 macro, and thus difficult to maintain.

Excel 2007 :: Generate Microsoft Word Document From Data Encoded In Spreadsheet?

Jun 18, 2012

I need to generate a microsoft word document from the data encoded in my excel spreadsheet. I am currently using MS office 2007.

in the Excel Spreadsheet from columns C to F "a) b) c) d)" was not typed but in the word document it automatically appears before the choices encoded in excel. Another thing is that some of the choices typed in the excel spreadsheet are in bold font and I want it to be generated in word document with the bold font as well.

By the way I am planning to use this technique to create a 100 item multiple choice exam for my students as I find using EXCEL to generate the document a lot easier than creating the test manually in WORD.

Why Do Some Excel Documents NOT Allow To Undo / Redo When Using Macro

Jul 11, 2013

Some of my Excel files work perfectly in terms of undo/redo, while others simply cannot use that feature. I took a stroll through the internet looking for the answer, but the issues that I found seemed to point to the application losing its ability, which was resolved with a registry edit/update/change. I don't think that's the case here because I CAN undo is SOME documents.

After some investigation with my problem documents I have found that THIS Macro is the one thing all my undo-free documents have in common: [URL]

Macro To Copy Data Within Excel Into Tables In A Word Document

Jan 25, 2010

Currently I am going back and forth between an excel document and a word document cutting and pasting values from the excel spreadsheet into tables in word. The task is a regular occurance therefore I wish to create a Macro that can automate this procedure. Both the excel and word documents are fixed templates therefore once a Macro is created it can be applied to all future work of similar nature.

Each table in the word document contains 6 rows of values in a single column. The excel data is arranged in a table that is 6 rows by x number of columns (how ever many sets of values there are for the particular job) therefore x determines how many tables must exist in the word document. I move between the excel and word document cutting and pasting each column into each table. This is not so time consuming if x=10 however on occasion x=100+ and it does take time.

Macro To Copy Data From Excel Worksheet To Microsoft Word Document

Jan 28, 2011

I have a macro set up in Excel that formats and deletes rows matching a citeria. Once the macro runs I then manually copy the data across into Word. I would like to automate this.

I would like the macro to copy over any cells containing data iinto a new word document. I also have standard text that I would like to include at the beginning and end of the word document. With the excel data being placed in the centre.

I have searched the web and tried a couple of macros with no luck. All the macros state "' requires a reference to the Word Object library: ' in the VBE select Tools, References and check the Microsoft Word X.X object library"

I am unsure how to reference this - but I have checked and found that the object library ticked is Microsoft Word 11.0 Object Library.

Booking Userform: The Spreadsheet To Automatically Save Under C:My Documents

May 31, 2007

I have put together a booking spreadsheet which uses a UserForm. see attached worksheet. When you start the UserForm and select a name, date, number of nights, and then 'Add', the data is added to the worksheet.

1. My first problems is that when I select the 'Cancel' button on the Userform, I would like the spreadsheet to automatically save under C:My Documents. And also save the file as 'Marketing_DDMMYYYY.xls' as todays date.

2. My second problem is that the 'Leaving Data' column sometimes shows the leaving date in American format (MM/DD/YYYY), and sometimes English format (DD/MM/YYYY).
How can I make this always use English format?

Importing Data From Multiple Word Forms Into A Single Spreadsheet With Vba

I would like to use a vba procedure/procedures to achieve the following:
I have a folder with many Word2003 forms in and I want to save just the data from each form and then import the data into an Excel spreadsheet.

Currently I am opening each .doc file in turn, saving just the data to a new plain text (comma separated file) in a different folder and am unable code searching that folder for all the text files and importing them into the spreadsheet.
I have a two part question to my current approach:

1) I am 99% there with the first part (opening and converting the forms) with the following code having followed advice from another thread but I need Word open and not showing an open document. Is it possible to add code to take care of opening Word in the background and close it again after so the process is fully automated?:

Spreadsheet That I Have Variable Data In And I Want To Transfer Specific Parts Of The Workbook Into A Word Doc

Nov 25, 2008

I have a spreadsheet that I have variable data in and I want to transfer specific parts of the workbook into a Word doc.

Not a problem with the Excel part, I can select each and every cell that I want, copy them and then...

Recording a macro hasn't done the trick as the code I have only copies and doesn't paste. I know I can edit the code to open Word but the problem is that when in Word, the data needs to go to very specific places, some of it goes in the header, most goes in the main body, I can't see how this could be done as there are no cell refs as in Excel!

is it possible to paste to say halfway in a sentence, in a macro?

The workbook is basically my database with vba program that populate data to Word document. My word document is a template that has macros saved in a module. Aside from populating the data, workbook also create formfields on to the document and assign macro (ExitMacro).

However, i'm getting Run-time error (4210): Bad parameter message when i try to assign the macro to formfields. I noticed that this happened when the macro was saved in the module of the document. The workbook program works fine if the document macro was saved in Normal.dot, which i don't want to do.

Issuing Word Commands From Excel Macro

Nov 20, 2006

I am trying to build a word document from an excel macro (with some success) and I am running into some issues with excel not understanding some of the word macro commands. An excellent example of this is when I am trying to insert a page break as seen in the below code snippet:

'open word and create a new document
Dim wdApp As Object
Set wdApp = CreateObject("Word.application")
wdApp.documents.Add

'put some text into the document
wdApp.Selection.typetext Text:="Document title"
wdApp.Selection.TypeParagraph
'insert a page break
wdApp.Selection.InsertBreak Type:=wdPageBreak

I know the insert break command works fine because I can get it to work within a word macro. When trying to get excel to run it in word is another story. I get the following error message:

run-time error '9118':
Parameter value was out of acctable range

Debug
wdPageBreak = empty

Using Macro To Print Various Word And Excel Files In Different Folders

Jun 2, 2014

What I want to create is an excel file such as:

A
B
C

File
Qty
Yes/No

[Code]......

Where Qty sets how many copies for that particular doc, and Yes/No determines if it needs to be printed at all.

Each file will be in a subfolder relative to the excel file.

So it would work like this (somehow)

If Cell, C2 = 1, then print CurrDirSection1examplefile.xlsx, qty= B2 , defaultprinter
If Cell, C3 = 1, then print CurrDirSection2examplefile.docx, qty= B3 , defaultprinter
If Cell, C4 = 1, then print CurrDirSection2examplefile.docx, qty= B4 , defaultprinter

and so forth.
