Ranking Greater Than "0": Able To Rank Players Only If They Meet Or Exceed A Specific Number Of Rounds
May 26, 2009
I want to be able to rank players only if they meet or exceed a specific number of rounds. I have been able to get close but I would like to have the ranking start at "1" instead of "0" (see sheet).
Ranking values and ranking duplicates the same rank I'm looking to rank a group of numbers that will possibly have duplicate numbers that I want to show as a tie but have no break in the rankings.
I am trying to calculate players ranking based on their weight categories and attempts total, e.g. Category (50kg, 69kg etc..) Rank should be calculated automatically the highest total value of cat. 50kg is 1st second highest is 2nd etc. However, if tow players or more within the same Category have scored same point ranking will be calculated based on Body Weight less comes first and if both have similar weight calculation will be based on Start # first player comes first etc..
Table: Start # Name Body Weight Team Category Total Point Rank
I have a spreadsheet which is linked to several other worksheets. I have managed to include formulas to count how many cells have numbers between 101 and 5000 by using this formula -
=sum((h2:h500>=101)*(h2:h500<=5000))
but now I want to count the number of cells in another worksheet that are equal to or less than zero. When I use the same formula as above it counts all the blank cells. I have tried using a countblank formula and then deducting this from the result, but unless the other worksheet is open the countblank formula does not work.
I have students Kg-5th Gr. I need to identify the ones over-aged when I enter the information. The following is what I'm trying to use but I get Y1 for ever cell. I need it to Identify the student as Y1 for One year overage and Y2 for tow years overage.
I had tried ranking formula to rank employees on some cirteria it was working, but if there is any tie between two employees then the next rank is not displaying for example in Ach Rank : rank 5 is missing because there is tie is between two employees is rank 4. Request your suggestion and help on this for overcoming the issue.
Formula used for ranking : =IF(B2>=75%,RANK(B2,$B$2:$B$41,1)-COUNTIF($B$2:$B$41,"
I have data that has filters and hidden rows and my current formula ranks with ties which is what I want, but I do not want the ranking to skip numbers.
Value Rank Now Rank I want 508 6 1001 1 696 4 704 3 833 2 557 5 1001 1 704 3 508 6
What I am trying to do is give the rank in column D based on the values in columns B and C. Some of the values in column B will have then same rank, and as such I want to add further criteria on which to rank them. I would first like to rank the values in column B and then rank the values in column C, which should give the rank in column D. For example Dog and Frog have the same value of 400 from the Non UK column. Therefore, rather than having these as both rank 1, I want them to be ranks 1 and 2, so want to add another criteria (UK). As Dog is greater than Frog in the UK (i.e. 10>7), I would like to rank Dog as 1 and Frog as 2. Goat will be ranked as 3 because it had the thrid highest value in the Non UK.
I have a simple formula in a cell, just a sum of some columns. (=C6+H6) If the sum happens to be greater than 10, though, I want it to show as the number 10. How can I do this?
I'm trying to figure out a simple spreadsheet that can spit out tournament payouts based on a flexible number of players (we might have 55, 60, 100) and flexible percentages based on the pot size (if we have 100 players, we would like to pay more players than if we had 50).
Something like [input number of players] [input pot size] [input # of payouts] [input percentage of each payout] it would just save a ton of time as we're trying to calculate payouts on the go.
I would like to change the greater than number to the value in cell 'I11' in sheet 'Linear Programming Data' and the less than number to the value in cell 'I12' in sheet 'Linear Programming Data'. The code I am using was done by recording a macro since I don't know how to code in vba.
Code: Sub Results2() ' Results2 Macro ' copy table filter power by greater than and less than Sheets("Finalizing Results 2").Select Cells.Select
I have a sheet of data. The data starts in row 4 and can be variable in length. I want to delete rows that do not meet a specific criteria, for example a location, Leeds, which is in column "i" of the table. I have written the below but it seems to delete data from row 1 rather than row 4 and repeat down each row
Code below
Sub deleterows() Dim i As Integer Dim intCounter As Integer Dim strLocation() As String
p = Range(Cells(4, 6), Cells(4, 6).End(xlDown)).count
counting some room numbers that meet a specific criteria. For example:
Let's say i have room numbers
1233 1234 569 2148 3422
I need to count the room numbers which the last two digits are greater than 40.
So far I have tried to separate the last two by using the Right formula but then when I try to use countif, it doesn't work as I guess that the result of the extraction comes back a a text value
I am making an excel file that should convert the distance jumped by a person to a specific rank. For example if the distance was greater or equal to 34, he would get a 10. and 34> distance >= 32, he would get a 9 and so on...
I need a formula that will should nest more than 7 functions, in this case it wont work right? So what I did was name 2 separate fuctions for example
i have a column of numbers. every so often in the column, there is the word 'start'. the amount of numbers between each 'start' varies, but i would like to put a 1 or a 0 in the column next to each number. i would like the second highest ranking number to get a 1 and all the others to get a 0.
if the first and second numbers between two starts are equal, then i would like all numbers between the 'start' to get a 0.
I posted on here months ago and someone very kindly did an array formula for me, trouble is some of the sheets are so long now that the array takes a few minutes to work it out and load up
I have a range of data and need to summarize some of the data. In the table below is an example of the data. I would like to have a single formula where I can count the number of rows where the end date - start date is < 14 days. I would prefer not to add an additional column for the datediff value. Is there a way to do this with either arrays or named ranges?
Name Start End Other data Verizon 1/10/2010 1/25/2010 AT&T 3/2/2010 4/14/2010
I have 4,300 cells populated with data. I have sorted the data and now I need to rank the data in 1% increments. For example, the first 1% of data (43 cells) will be ranked #1, the second 1% of data (43 cells) will be ranked #2 etc. How could I automate this process? I was trying to figure something out with the "Rank" command but that doesn't seem to work in this situation.
I have a sum formula that adds 3 different cells from 3 different columns to reach my total profit. The sum total will occasionally be rounded up one cent. I have check formatting and it is set to accounting with 2 decimal places. The formula is the same in each row as well as the format of each cell. Why would the formula occasionally round up?
I have a number that I'd like to see ranked within a separate range. Ie if the number is 25 and I want to see how it would be ranked if it were in a range of:
3 43 12 19 22 7 88
(The answer would be 3 - 3rd highest). The RANK formula requires an exact match...
I'm racking my brains as to how I can structure a formula to conditionally rank a value in an array against only those values in the array whose corresponding criteria cell includes a specific letter.
So for example I have a list of 12 values, say 126; 239; 0; 171; 162; 157; 130; 199; 122; 153; 0; 15. Each of those values corresponds to a heading, say: CDE; DFE; FGE; DFE; ERD; DEA; BDF; DFB; CDE; CEF; CAB; FAB. As you will note some of the headings may or may not be the same and may or may not include the same letters in different orders.
How can I write a formula that ranks in ascending order a given value drawn from the above list (which will be in another cell but which in this case is, let's say, the first value: 126) only against those values whose heading includes a specific character, for example the character C (the character in question will vary and be defined in a specific cell).
As an added complication I need the ranking calculation to exclude any zero values. So in the above example what the formula needs to do is rank the value 126 against a sub-set of the whole array comprising only the values 126; 122; 153; 0.
The answer I need is 2 because, discounting the zero value, 126 is the second highest value.
I have a formula that I'm trying to utilize VLookup to determine a specific bonus. The issue I'm having is when looking for the closes match, it is returning the value below where it should because it's rounding down. For example, the string I have reads:
=VLOOKUP(S5,'Rep Daily'!A1:B61,2,TRUE)
The value it's defining is 17.7485, so it's returning the bonus for 17.5 instead of 17.75. Even when I use the =Roundup function, it's showing 17.75 in the cell but the actual value of the cell is 17.7485 so VLookup is returning the lower of the two values.
I have two rounds of numbers and I want to divide the numbers across 12 steps for each round. I've shown the outcome of what I want in the attached spreadsheet, but I was wondering if there was a way to accomplish this with a formula rather than doing it manually.
How to create a formula in cell M2 that looks at the second row of numbers (0 and 500s) and tells me the rightmost value that is greater than zero. In this example it would return 12.
Second Question: Is there a way to return any counted value, for example the second-to-last number that is over 0?
I have a yearly running log (attached). At the bottom in cell [B88] I would like to develop a formula that gives me the number of times I ran in that specific month. Dates are in Column A and running distances are in Column B. If a distance is zero, I don't want to count it. I have attempted to solve this using the =COUNTIFS formula, but I am not able to structure it properly. Maybe =COUNTIFS is not what I should be using.
