I have an Excel Charts with monthly balances entered. I need to delete all the values $0.00 of which there are many. I have tried to use the find and replace and also i tried the method explained in the Excel level 1 free training.
View 9 Replieswith the data in the attached sheet, I create several different pivot tables that need show the count of the information in the columns M:DU. My issue is that the data is sent to me from a third party and the columns contain zeros that cause the counts to inflate.
What I would like to be able to do is run a macro that will search out any zeros in M:DU and replace them with a blank cell.
Unfortunately the number of rows increases with every monthly reporting cycle so the macro would need to be able to accommodate for that.
i am creating a football prediction sheet, and have a problem where blank cells are treated as zeros.
The enclosed spreadsheet shows the formulas in green working fine, but the blanks are treated as zeros in cells j6, I7 & J7.
I am working on a large spreadsheet (done by somebody other than I) that has a lot of vlookups and IF commands. If it sees that there is nothing present in the lookup, then it simply returns a blank cell. I could do with it showing a zero instead of the blank cell. The cell appears not to be empty and I am not familier enough with excel to get it to do what I want.
This is a typical forumla that either gives a figure if something is present, or simply returns no data / text but excel doesn't see the cell as empty.

Is there anything obvious from that formula that can be modified, or is it a much deeper problem?
Is it possible to run Range("A64000").End(xlUp).Select and have it skip the blanks and zeros until it hits an actual number?

But when I count the zero scores (no goals scored) across a range blank cells in the range are counted as zero, which I don't want. Is there any command I could put with the formula to tell it not to count blank cells as zero or just not to count blank cells at all? I need to account for zeros in the coarse and I want this excel sheet to track the current average all year long . So I do not need to include my blanks in the average as I go. Also , how do I formulate my average accum to show this formula - Test scores, four of them count as 80% of the total grade. So each test is worth 20% / Lab 10% of total grade and homework is additional 10%. I downloaded the templete from MSN and have tweaked it to my liking except for the coding above. Please advise. I am a below par on Excel. My attachemtn is below of my templete. One note. the templete gave me the room to include 13 ros of homework - but I will not necessarily use all of them... I am trying to find a way to code to replace any cell that is not blank with the text "LOA", then after I replace all blanks with "Active"
The Replace blanks is easy:

but before this I dont really know how to quickly replace all non blank rows. Only way I know is to loop thru all cells in the column checking for not equal to "" then replacing, but the code above for replacing blanks is elegant, and only replaces in the used data section.
I am trying to get excel to sum totals, but exclude answers that are outside
of a certain range. I can get it to do this by using =IF(Z8>0.5,Z8,0).
However, I need it to display absolutely nothing in the cells, rather than a
zero because it alters future calculations.
I use an old accounting program to download sales history into excel. For sales where there is only one line item and therefore 1 row, there is no problem. Sales with multiple items show a summary of the sale in the first row and the line item details in rows after.
On multiple item sales (shaded in yellow), the total postage is shown in the summary row (shaded in orange). The postage fields in the line items are blank (shown shaded in blue). I need to split the total postage by number if line items and put the value in the line items. i.e. if the total postage is $10 for two items, I need to show $5 for each line item.
The summary row identifies the number of line items in the "Qty" column ( cells in green). This cell could be used to divide into the postage (in orange) and also count how many rows below to put the answer in
So have large spreadsheet with grid of elevations. Each column/row is 1 foot grid. There are blanks in it where there was no elevation data available. I need to interpolate those elevations using the surrounding known elevations. I can setup the interpolation just fine using a circular reference but what i am having trouble with is getting formula into all the cells. I need to replace blanks with formula that averages all four cells around it.
This will result in circular references that will interpolate from known points nearby. So for example if cell D4 was blank formula needs to be
=(D3+E4+D5+C4)/4. D5 would be =(D4+E5+D6+C5)/4.

I’ve created a formula for this statistic and I’m happy with the results. Because I’m working with formulas, my only problem is the unwanted zeros. How do I hide zeros that show up automatically (i.e. #3 [blank] and Nov 09-June 10)? I can hide the numbers, but if I enter a zero to one of my future statistics it will not appear and I don’t want that to happen. Is there a way to hide those automatic zeros without affecting my real zeros?

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis problem has come up fairly frequently lately, and I'm not sure how to fix it, or if this is by design...but in Excel 2003 I can't seem to do a "Find and Replace" based on the value of a cell. I can do a find, based on cell value, but the moment I change to the replace tab, the "values" and "comments" are missing from the "look in" dropdown.
I've only noticed this when I'm trying to replace on a filtered list, so I'm not sure if that is part of the issue.
Perhaps an alternative way of arriving at the same goal. Basically I have a worksheet with a number of filtered columns. They are filtered just right, using custom filtering, and so I do not want to undo the filters. In some columns I have formulas that are returning #VALUE! errors. I'd like to replace all of these cells with NA.
I recently became owner of a spreadsheet with some issues, and I am trying to make it useful. Each row has a URL of a blog post, and I want to extract the date from it (which is present in each URL) while getting rid of the rest of the URL. I was able to get rid of everything up to the year (which comes first), but then the URL continues, for example, 2013/05/16/the-rest-of-the-url/ and I would like to just have 2013/05/16 remain.
I am trying to use find and replace with the find box reading 2013/??/??/*/ and replacing it with 2013/??/?? which effectively erases everything else in the url, but leaves ?? instead of the numbers. Is there any way to have it so that it keeps whatever was in the original box?

I used the following code to replace " characters to !%. Then I copy the selected cells, and replace the !% back to "-es. The copied cells contain the "-es. When I comment the second replace, the function is working correctly, the copied cells contain the !%. What's the problem of my code?

I have formatted the cells to be '0000' (showing the leading zero) however when my VBA code runs it copies the cell value into a string but when I stop the code running to check the value the leading zero(s) are gone. I can see they are the same on both worksheets in the correct format. I've tried a few others like integer and long but same same.
