I need to replace a full column with a certain word. It needs to start at a specific cell and needs to replace the full column until it hits an empty cell. I can't do a find and replace because the words in that column are all different words.
For example:
I need it to replace all of column F starting at F2 with a specific word and it needs to keep replacing until it hits an empty cell.
My workbooks have a column of state names that I need to replace the names with abbreviations. I am doing it manually with the Replace (Ctrl+H) right now, and it's very time-consuming since I'm doing it with numerous, large workbooks. I would be very grateful if there's a quicker solution. The state column is always the same (I). The states are United States and Canada, but I could edit if there's an existing solution from a different country, or modify a simliar work-around.
I want to replace all blank cells in column A with the word "BLANK" but my problem is that I need to tell Excel to stop searching for blank cells in column A once and only once column A is equal to the last data row in the column named "Product Number". I tried this macro but, naturally, it replaces all the empty cells in the WHOLE COLUMN.
I will always have a header column in row 1. The data is below that (data will always start at row 2).

Trying to repeat a 550 or so character statement with a find/replace however I am getting type mismatch errors. When I use a smaller message in the "replace" it works.

I have a series of text - domains actually (i.e. goldintre.cr.usgs.gov.) - and I need to extract the text that appears before the first period in one cell, and the text that appears after the first period. Both have to be without the periods. So in the above example the result should be 'goldintre' in one cell and 'cs.usgs.gov' on the other.

If a cell in Column F = Closed Then, the entire row is filled green. If a cell in Column F = Open Then, the entire row is red with a strike through. I'm guessing this is simple, but I can only conditionally format on a cell-by-cell basis right now
I'm actually having difficulty with the sumproduct function, I'm trying to count items based on multiple criteria (and yes I have looked under that). I'm using a very helpful formula that I grabbed from this site. =SUMPRODUCT(1*(base!$B$1:$B$19465=locations!B$1),1*(base!$A$1:$A$19465=locations!$A6))
The problem that I have is that this doesn't work if I replace $B$1:$B$19465 with $B:$B. now as the number of rows on the base sheet may change, this means I need to change the formula each time I change the data on the base sheet which is somewhat ridiculous. I am trying to find specific text throughout an excel document (2007) and replace it with the same text but in italics. I tried using the options/format function and selecting italics for the "replace" text but it replaces the entire cell text in italics instead.
I have a worksheet with several columns. I need a formula to search column D only and each time a specific location is identified to replace that location with alternate text. Example (ORIGNAL TEXT):

I need to search that listing and each time the word BIRD is mentioned have it replaced with FEATHERS and each time DOG is listed have it replaced with TAILS Final result would look like:

All other text should stay the same and replacement text should appear in the cell of the text it is replacing. This is a sheet used by multiple people several times a day and so the Find/Replace option really won't work.
Have working on this for at least 6 months and it just isn't going to happen for me. I thought I could use a Conditional format, but that is producing no results either.

I've tried several variations with no results. (perhaps it's to extensive for my modest needs)
I have taken over this spreadsheet for my work, and it is basically a statement in excel. What I want to do is find a list of invoice numbers in column B populated from a remittance, and then replace column F to say a specific thing depending on check number and date paying for that invoice. So if a check printed today I would have it replace column f to say paid 1/31/13 check # xxxxx. Currently I am searching for each invoice indivudually and then replacing with check number and date. There are about 200 invoices per month that I deal with, and it is a big waste of time!
I have a table in the format below. Pin_11 in this table is CLK and Pin_12 is STRB. I want to replace Pin_11 with PIN_CLK. Basically I want to look for CLK in Column3 and record what ever is in Column1 and Column2 on the same row (base row). 1- I have a list full with numbers in a column. And I want to count how many digits are there in every cells. If digit of the number is less than 7, macro will complete it to 7 digits by adding 0 (zero) at the beginning of the number.
Example: A1 = 85468... A1 value is 5 < 7 in this case our number will be 0085468 (total 7 digits)
PS: sometime, when numbers start with 0 (zero), excel delete all 0 value at the beginning of the numbers. Macro should prevent this error.
2- I have another list with 2 columns which arranged in order. I mean: A1=xx1, B1=xx2, A2=xx3, B2=xx4, A3=xx5, B3=xx6... etc. One is at A column, next number in B column.
My request is I want to make this list 1 column as arranged. A1=xx1, A2= xx2, A3=xx3, A4=xx4... etc.
3- Macro will add a new line to the end of the above list with this format: Z00001xxxx
Z00001 is static xxxx is number of the full cells of A column plus 1. It will be 4 digits. If count is less than 4, it will complete it to 4 digits. Example: if there are 15 cells in the list, last line will Z00010016 (15 + 1)

I have a single column with more than 200.000 cells. In each cell there is a small image obtained from a website. There are four different images: red, orange, yellow and green . I am importing content control information in a word file into excel by using a macro in excel. The information is coming across nicely but when the information about a checkbox comes across, in excel, that's what you see, a checkbox (☐ or ☒). Is there any way (formula or vba) to replace all the checkboxes with a yes or a no?
I wrote a formula that works:

But this will add this information to a new column and I would like to replace the information in the existing column (the form has about 200 checkboxes) and I don't want to add a bunch of new columns.

I would like to create a very simple Excel file that makes the following:
