Report Spreadsheet, That Reads Several Other Spreadsheets

Linking is what I am having trouble with... I can establish the link but when I copy down a cloumn, Excel wants me to establish the link each and every time.

I purchased Link Hacker and it tells me Error 52. Bad file name or number

I have tried the mapped drive as well as the entire directory listing.

Is there anyway to force Excel to perform the formula without having to manually tell the link where to go?

I want to type a formula and it tells itself where to find the data.

If not is there another way to accomplish the reading of the spreadsheets?

Single Spreadsheet From Many Spreadsheets

I want to create a single spreadsheet containing a selected row from each of 365 spreadsheets;

Background:
(1) I have 365 Excel spreadsheets (1 for every day of the year);
(2) Each spreadsheet contains:
(a) 24 values (one for every hour) horizontally with hourly average temperatures; and
(b) 8,000 records (vertically) for 8,000 different locations;

I want to create a new single spreadsheet in which I select a specific location (say, Linden, New Jersey), and capture the temperatures for all 24 hours (horizontally) and all 365 days (vertically);

the file names are all;

20070101.xls, 20070102.xls, 20070103.xls, ............ 20071231.xls (one for each day of the year)

(I tried using =VLOOKUP(Linden,CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,"'.xls'!","$B$1:$CA$8017"),3,FALSE); where A1, A2 & A3 are year, month & day respectively) but was unsuccessful;

Updating A Master Spreadsheet From Other Spreadsheets

I'm on a BTEC in college and my tutor wants me to create 3 spreadsheets, one of them is a Master spreadsheet which shows each pupils grade for each module, their over all end year grade and how many UCAS points that grade will earn them. The other two sheets are for the modules which will have the grades of the pupils in that lesson, Pass, Merit, Destinction or Fail. I hope you're still with me... I've attached an example of one of the 'Slave' spreadsheets as I call them.

My problem is that I can't seem to find a way of doing all this without constant nesting of COUNTIF. The code I have for my 'Unit1' spreadsheet's grade is:

"=IF(COUNTIF(B3:G3,"x")=6,IF(COUNTIF(H3:J3, "x")=3, IF(COUNTIF(K3:M3, "x")=3, "Distinction", "Merit"), "Pass"), "Fail")"

It works, but it's very messy. If this sounds confusing I apologise, the attached documents should clear some of the confusion up. Once the smaller spreadsheets work, the Master needs to use them to update it's cells. If someone has a Merit grade in 'Unit 1', the Master needs to show it too by somehow linking the 'Grade' cell from 'Unit1' to the 'Grade' cell in the Master spreadsheet.

Copy Multiple Spreadsheets Into 1 Spreadsheet

I have created with most of it being done by Austrada (who has done a great job) code to copy multiple spreadsheets into 1 spreadsheet. We have run into a error Run Time Error '9'. Subscript out of range.

Populating One Spreadsheet From Data In Other Spreadsheets In Same Workbook

I need to have totals from individual worksheets automatically enter into cells in a master spreadsheet.

What I am doing is keeping track of donations collected from individual departments - each on their own worksheet. I would like to have the totals of each page automatically enter & update onto a master worksheet that would show the totals from each dept and then give me a total of all those.

I am not that well versed in Excel. I have been able to set up the individual worksheets and the master.....but can not figure out how to accomplish what I want with the Master tally sheet.

On the individual worksheets I also want to set it up to give me the average donation per person. So if I total the # of donors and the total $$$ amount...what formula do I use to get the average?

i am trying to do collect data from 4 different spread sheets (they all consists of the same columns but they do not have the same amount of rows) and rank them based upon one of the columns in a fifth spreadsheet. in the fifth sheet i also want to display all of the information found in the four sheets, see simplified example below. Is this possible? and how do i do it? when i googles it i only found ways to do it using macro but i know nothing about macros..

Posting Dynamic Date In Individual Spreadsheets To Overview Spreadsheet

I am trying to build a workbook to track patient treatments. My overview sheet needs to list the last treatment received per patient which is listed in column a of each patient's individual sheet dynamically so I can review the history of treatments as well. I have tried to create a dynamic list, but it is not functioning correctly. I was using : =OFFSET(txdate,1,0,COUNTA('patient, name'!$A:$A),1) , where column A ( the named range "txdate") lists the treatment dates in succession and should be updated automatically when a new treatment is done.

I have a main spreadsheet that I am consistenty adding information to. The columns are : Company name, Contact, Territory, and Status. The main spreadsheet is titled "Main". I want 5 additional spreadsheets in the same workbook that are automatically pulling information from the "Main" spreadsheet, and populating the appropriate spreadsheet . For example...I have 500 entries of different companies in "Main". All of these companies are either categorized as "North, South, East, West, Offshore" in the Territory column. So, I would like my workbook to have 6 tabs...one "Main, North, South, East, West, Offshore." As of right now, I am Sorting the column, then copy and pasting into correct spreadsheet manually.

I have a sheet from which I load data. A normal cell looks like this:

I wrote a script however that writes new data into a new sheet every day, and saves it with the name of the date. The obstacle is, that I won't have a sheet for each day (ex: weekends, holidays). For that reason, is it possible for excel to scan a certain folder, and open the 20th file when sorted by date to read from?

I am wanting to have a schedule posted as 8:00am to 5:00pm to show up in a format that shows the interval every thirty minutes with either a 1 or a zero so that I can calculate each intervals total staffing. Also if a break or lunch is entered I would like it to show a zero or .5 in the field (.5 being for 15 mins and 0 for anything taking the full 30 mins).

Rowfilter Reads Wrong Values

I have a rowfilter on the location (so i can view who took the test by location nad whether or not they passed) - the only problem is that when it selects by location - it chooses the correct name, personellnum, location row but it then picks the test values ABOVE that row - not below it - so It is choosing the complete wrong values to go with the associated person -

Moving Row When Column Reads (Yes) And Button Is Pressed

I have a situation with a spreadsheet i'm working on.

Basically, when a button is pressed I want it to search for all rows which have a "yes" in an offload column (Column AS, on the sheet "Active") (So it can be yes or no).

If it finds a yes, I need it to move the whole row in to a new sheet called "inactive", then move the remaining results up.

I have taken and played about with a different VBA code, but i'm not sure it's even the right line!

I want the names of the students to appear in the correct ranking order in the respected grade rankings chart. I currently have a countif formula which reads the grade, but I think I need to link that with an index formula which I'm having problems with.

If Cell1 Reads Text1 Return The Value Of Adjacent Cell

A workbook containing 2 sheets. Sheet1 is a data entry sheet containing 8 columns and many 10s of rows of client data. The columns are (in this order) Client, Date, Code, Duration, CaseNo, Description, Staff. I also have a second sheet. Sheet2 takes the data from Sheet1 and displays the results of certain calculations, such as amt of cases a particular Staff person has and of what Code type.

Example:
- Total amt of P02 cases = 25
- # of cases Homer Simpson has = 10

So here's what I'm trying to accomplish:
Is it possible to have Excel return the total amt of time spent on a particular Code type? It would have to search through the Code column for a particular Code type (let's say "P03") and return the SUM of the Duration which resides in a different column.

I have two worksheets in my report cards:

1) Data - the students are listed in Column A, math scores in Column B, reading scores in Column C and science scores in Column D. The grades of 300 students are entered in this sheet.

2) Report Card template - This is the report card that needs to be generated for each student. It's pulling the student name and grades from the Data worksheet.

How do I create worksheets (report cards) for additional students? I have 300 students in the school. I need the next worksheet to reference Data!$A3. I know how to cut and paste the report card template and then edit =Data!A2 to be =Data!A3 to create a report card for Sally. How do I create the 300 report cards I need?

I've been teaching for 13 years. I can create a report card for each student in my class and edit each worksheet individually for each student. Now I've been asked to do this for the whole school and I don't know how to create the other 299 sheets I need.

Excel 2007 :: Chart That Reads Results Of Multiple Dropdown Boxes?

I have six colums (Date; Skill; ST Hrs; OT hrs: Area; Type). I copied and pasted below a small portion of info from the spreadsheet. I know when I copy and paste into a post the information under the headers don't line up exactly...it appears offset, so basically "Date" is of course the date you see..."Skill"'s columns has the first item as nb-mech b..."ST Hrs" first item will be 0.00..."OT Hrs" will be 1.50...."Area"'s first item is "Log FM NO"....and "Type"'s first item is MX07

And there are 17,000 rows of this info and forever growing...a lot of repeated items in each column such as you can see "blaster" has multiple entries on 4/1/2012.

What I am attempting to do which I have not firgured out yet (i have tried array formulas but they bog down the pc forver and couldn't figure out exactly how to make it give me the results I needed...and I also tried sumproducts but that didnt get me what I wanted....and it is being requested of me to NOT make a pivot table but a chart.

What I am trying to create is is the following:

1 - cells to plug in a date range for example cell A1 I plug 4/1/2012 and cell A2 plug 4/30/2012
2 - drop down boxes for columns Skill; Area: Type, which show only unique records in each column

Once I have that, I could then filter all 3 itmes and have only items show in the date ranges I picked and present ONLY the SUMS of columns ST Hrs and OT hrs.

Once the SUMS show up, I can then have cells off to the side that will give a percent break down of what percent of the total hours (for the chose criteria) are ST Hrs and what percent of the total are OT Hrs....and this percentage break down will show up in a Bar Chart, per day chosen in my date ranges....I'm thinking one simple stacked bar per day in the chart.

So say, based on the info below, I wanted to see the total ST Hrs and OT Hrs from 4-1-12 to 4-2-12 for a nb-blaster in LOG FM NO and type MX06.....my result would be 0.00 ST Hrs...23 OT Hrs.....and my bar chart would be one simple bar peaked out at 23 on day 4-1-12.....and within the bar it would be 0.00% ST Hrs and 100% OT Hrs and maybe the total hours for each showing also..don't need that but it may be useful.. ..and no bar for 4-2-12 (because the criteria picked had no hours for 4-2-12)

I have been messign witht is all week and just can't nail it.. I do remember a while ago I would have been able to load the spreadsheet into the post and people could see it in excel...is that option to do that no longer on this site?

How do you create a macro to copy the information from my weekly reports to a monthly report and be able to update automatically. If you had 4 worksheets (for each week of the month) and 1 mastersheet for the whole month in a workbook. All titles are the same and If you needed to copy all the data that is in the columns, say, A through I, starting with row 4 to however many rows are in a given week. The reports can be made up of numicerial values, text and dates. Let me know if more information is needed or an example worksheet.

Record Greater Than 50 In A Cell So It Reads As Greater Than 50

I have to make a table that shows that a if someone purchases

less than 5 items they receive no discount
5-10 items they receive 2% discount
11-20 items they receive 5% discount
21-50 items they receive 8% discount
over 50 items they receive 10%

and it has to be done in a way that the discount rate can be calculated using Vlookup I am struggling to find the best way to write this table. i tried numbering 1 to 50 and writing the corresponding discount rate in the second column but this looks untidy and can't calculate greater than 50 as i am not sure how to write it in the cell so it reads as >50 and not just 50.

Multi-Spreadsheet Formula Down To Populate The Other Cells In The Total Spreadsheet

I have attached a document paralleling a document I am working on. The dollar amount in each spreadsheet represent sales. I have entered in values into the candy, soda, and chips spreadsheet. I have also linked values for candy into the total spreadsheet. My question is can I somehow type something or drag the formula down to populate the other cells in the total spreadsheet?

The idea I am thinking but which I don't know how to implement is to list all the items (as in column G) and list all of the relevant cells (e.g. B1 in the Candy spreadsheet) as in columns H and I (Note that all items will have the same cells but the cells will have different values...e.g. all three items have a cell B1 and B2 in their spreadsheet but these cells contain different values). I then try and fail to create a formula in cell B3 of the Total spreadsheet. I am trying to create a formula of the following nature:

='(Spreadsheet Name From Column G)'!(Cell Name From Columns H and I)

The Second half of the formula doesn't really concern me (i.e. the cell name from column H and I). However I am perplexed as to how to achieve the goal in the first parentheses above.

I have two spreadsheets, one gives me the beginning and end of civil twilight as a measure of day vs. night. The spreadsheet has Date/Time in the first column, and the value 45 in the 2nd column when it is night. The second spreadsheet has also 2 columns with date/time and body temperatures of a squirrel. I want to get basic statistics (mean and standard deviation) of the squirrel's nocturnal body temperature, that is for times when it is night (value 45). The tricky part is that Date/Time of both spreadsheets are different. The procedure has to recognize that the date/time of body temperature lies between the beginning and end of the value 45 blocks of the first spreadsheet.

Spreadsheet That I Have A Lot Of Macros That Are Attached To A Customized Toolbar Saved In The Same Spreadsheet

I have a spreadsheet that I have a lot of macros that are attached to a customized toolbar saved in the same spreadsheet. I saved this is a read-only file. When I open as read-only and run my macros (testing), I save it as another file. When I then open the "template" to do the same thing, the toolbar/buttons now reference the file I previously saved as something else. Help please? Is there a macro that would delete all macros before saving the file as something else?
