Return Value Based On Cell Being Within Numeric Range

I have a spreadsheet that has (amongst other things) 2 charts based on dynamic data with ranges that redraw using vb... The charts will draw envelopes that correspond to an aircraft's moment or c of g envelope - there will typically be 2 envelopes drawn, "normal" and "utility" or "aerobatic".

Plotted on the charts are an aircraft's takeoff and landing weights and moment/C of G.

I'd like to be able to use a formula or VB to determine which envelope takeoff/landing information falls in (or if it falls outside all envelopes). This data would then be used to generate an error message/possibly also in conditional formatting, etc.

Return Values Based On The Range In Another Cell

I am trying to put together a calculation sheet for court costs and I need a cell to return a value based on the amount entered in another cell. For example, if I input a value between 1 and 5 in cell A1, I would like "Cat" to appear in cell A2. However, if I input a value between 6 and 10 in cell A1, I would like "Dog" to appear in cell A2. Is this something that can be done without VB?

For the real spreadsheet, I would need the following outputs in cell A2 based on the respective ranges in cell A1:

Output to A2 = $405 if input to A1 is < $50,000.
Output to A2 = $905 if input to A1 is ≥ $50,000 and < $250,000
Output to A2 = $1,905 if input to A1 is ≥ $250,000

Sum Based On Numbers Being Within Numeric Range

I'm trying to add up some values based on a criteria in another column. I have numbers in column A ranging from 0 - 100 and in column B have totals for those numbers. What i am trying to do is Add up the totals in column B based on the following criteria's in Column A.

<7, >7 & <=30, >30 & <=60, >60.

I have a summary page to display the individual results in separate cells.

Excel 2010 :: Return Range Of Cell Concatenated Based On Single Cell Value

I have a range of cells each containing a name. Based on a number that has to be entered manually I want excel to return the names concatenated in one cell. So for example:

Number of variable entered: 5

q9001
q9002
q9003
q9004
q9005
q9006
etc.

Should give me: "q9001 q9002 q9003 q9004 q9005"

I have been trying to work with formulas using IF and CONCAT functions. But so far I haven't figured out how to have excel return me the correct amount of variables for each separate number that can be entered seeing the number of variables entered can vary from 1 up to 50.

Lookup Based On Numeric Range Scope

I have a spreadsheet and I’m trying to create several different staffing scenarios
Basically what I want is to populate column E with the amount of staffing based on the number of classes in column B. The range that I want to apply is in the green box in the sample. I’m trying to have excel give me the staffing value if the current number in cell B5 is a certain value – so in the example 1 through 4 = .2, 5 through 8 = .4 and 9 through 12 = .6. this site gave me some ideas so I tried V lookup and Index but I seem to be missing something and wonder if it is not combinations of nested functions?

Rate Numbers Based On Numeric Range

In the attached excel file in column C, beginning on row 4, are numbers. These numbers will automatically update on my bloomberg terminal.

(1) I would like to then in column E to have a rating given to those numbers based on the below scale. The way the scale works is that if its 0.6 its a 10. If its anything slightly above 0.6 exactly, its a 9. A 10 is also a 0.5 and any number in between 0.5 and 0.6. The scale is below.

(2) Given that the formula that is being updated is a bloomberg excel formula (in the attached document I pasted it as values), will an excel formula be able to read the updated number in the bloomberg formula? If not, in column D is there a way to have it automatically paste D as values (and update each time column C changes or workbook is saved), and then have column E read off of those numbers.
Scale:

10 = 0.5 to 0.6
9 = 0.6 to 0.7
8 = 0.7 to 0.8
7= 0.8 to 0.9
6 = 0.9 to 1.0
5= 1.0 to 1.1
4= 1.1 to 1.2
3= 1.2 to 1.3
2= 1.3 to 1.4
1= 1.4 to 1.5
0 = anything greater than 1.5

Numeric Format Based On Cell Value

I am stuck on this one. In the attachment I have values pulling into N3:N7 based on a drop down choice. Some of the numbers are numeric (no decimals), others are currency (no decimals), others are percentages (2 decimals), etc.

Is there a way to pull values I'm currently pulling into column N and have those values match the format of the source? I've tried converting it into TEXT but then I cannot place conditional formatting data bars on the values and have it work.

I want a formula to add cells based off a number value in another cell.

So it would be something like

I'm looking for a way to count the cells in a specified range if the cell contains a timevalue (such as: 0:05 or 1:15). When a cell in the same range contains a normal value (such as: 1 or 20) it should not be counted.

What formula should i use for this?

I was experimenting with:

=CountIF(N4:N50,">TIMEVALUE(0:01)")
and
=CountIF(N4:N50,">TIME(0,0,1)")

But both don't seem to work.

Return The Last Numeric Value Above Zero

I have this issue and I can´t find the solution .
I need to have sometihng that copies only the last ( cell in the right) non-zero cell and past in the same row.
This macro or VBA code needs to search the row, and paste in a column the value of the last cell in the right.
The sheet I´m working have lots of rows and lots of columns. The columns are dates. And I need to have just a column in the end with the most recent data of each row.

AVERAGE Row Of Numbers And Return Corresponding Numeric Label

I have one Row that houses numbers 80-90 in seperate cells (11 columns A20:
K20) - these are my Numeric Labels.

I then have several other Rows that span the same number of columns as the
Numeric Labels (A21:K100) and house Numeric Values that relate to the Numeric
Labels.

I would like to AVERAGE the Numeric Values in each Row and have a Numeric
Label (value) that corresponds to the calculated average returned as the
result.

Example: Sample Data
A20:K20 (Numeric Label) 80 81 82 83 84 85 86 87 88 89 90
A21:K21 (Numeric Value) 07 06 05 03 09 09 00 02 04 12 10

Based on the above data - the Expected Result is 81
Average = 6; Return Numeric Label = 81

The leading zeros shown in A21:K21 is for alignment purposes only.

I would appreciate two formulas:
1) Includes zeros to be averaged
2) Excludes zeros from being averaged

I have tried variations on this =INDEX($A$20:$KJ$20,MATCH(AVERAGE($A21:$K21),
$A21:$K21,0)) but receive the #N/A error message.

1. Numeric Reference (NOT Unique)
2. Numeric Values ( NOT Unique) - lowest value

I am trying to find out how many weeks our current inventory will support our sales. I am trying to research formulas that will do this, and coming back with things like OFFSET, MATCH, INDEX but am not certain the best way to put them together to get what I need. I use excel daily, but this is a bit mroe advanced than I am used to

Starting in cell B4, I would like to count how many weeks of Demand can be covered by the specific Available On Hands in row 3 for that week, put the number of "Weeks Covered" into cell B2, and then fill over to the right in row 2. Right now, the values in row 2 are from my own manual calculations, but I would like a dynamic formula that will sum up the values in row 4 up to (but not greater than) the value in B3, give the count of cells that reached that sum (or even better with decimals to show the percentage covered), which I will copy over into B3:B13. Not sure if that makes sense, or if I can explain in a better way. The yellow cells are what I am trying to create a formula for and am currently stuck.

Return A Lookup Value Based On A Range Of Options?

I have used the below formula which works in a standard cell, however I would like to have this is a VBA code using the Target.Offset option, however I can not get this to work. There may also be a better way of doing this.

The code is looking to see if the 1st cell (A118) is empty or not, if it is empty do nothing otherwise it then looks up the value in the 2nd cell (B118) and assigs the appropriate name from the range values.

I have a range of cells (D10:D20) with numbers in them. I need cell A10 to look at D10 and return a specific number based on a set of criteria.

The same thing would go for A11:A20 & D11:D20.

If the number in D10 is 1-2 then A10 needs to display 0
If the number in D10 is 3-8 then A10 needs to display 0.1
If the number in D10 is 9-14 then A10 needs to display 0.2
If the number in D10 is 15-20 then A10 needs to display 0.3

Once I have that formula I know that i will just highlight A10 and drag the formula down through A20.

Formula on Sheet 1:

The issue I am having is that the value isn't an exact match so it is returning line 3 with a value of 315 rather than line 1 and a value of 313. What am I doing wrong?

I have a range of some 2,000 plus cells that are various numbers in them only. What I want to be able to apply is a macro that will look at the number in a cell and if the result is between a set range, produce a text, eg.

If the number is between 0 - 999 then insert text [url] this is where you go'.
If the number is between 1000 - 1999 then insert text [url] this is where you go 2'
If the number is between 2000 - 2999 then insert text [url] this is where you go 2'
etc.

I have up to 11 ranges of numbers to insert (up to 10000 - 19999).
So the text is the result of the formula.

I would like a flexible Formula to Return the Column Number of individual
Numeric Labels and their Numeric Value. I have a 2-Row by many Columns
chart/ grid layout. My 1st Column, Column Number "1" is Excel Column Letter
"F".

Numeric Label 17 is housed in Column Number "12" per my chart , its Numeric
Value 5 is housed on the next Row - directly below the Numeric Label.

Sample Data: ...

Scenario:

To Return the correct Column Number: locate the Numeric Label 17 and its
Numeric Value on the Row below, Numeric Value is 5. The Numeric Value is to
be increased by a Value of 1 (one) - NEW Numeric Value = 6. The Column
Number Returned should reflect Numeric Label of 17 remains the same but the
Numeric Value is increased by one.

To Return a Column Number representing the Numeric Label 17 and its original
Numeric Value +1 (plus one): the Numeric Label is still 17 but the Numeric
Value is NOW 6. From the oringal Column Number that housed Numeric Label 17,
that is Column Number "12", SEARCH in Ascending order: moving LEFT from
Column Number "12" and using the Numeric Value as the 1st (first) search
order and the Numeric Label as the 2nd (second) Ascending search order.
SEARCH the Numeric Value Row until the first Numeric Value either equal to 6
or more than 6 is found. Then Return the Column Number of the Column to the
Right of that Numeric Value.

Required Result:

Return the Column Number based on the Numeric Label 17 and the NEW Numeric
Value of 6, search in Ascending order - First search order based on Numeric
Value 6 - Second search order based on Numeric Label 17.

Returned Result should be Column Number 10.

Return Values In Range Based Upon Relationship To Maximum Value

I am looking to select two values from a range based upon their relationship to the maximum value. In this specific case I am trying to calculate the Quality factor based upon the frequency response of a transducer. So I need to identify the Maximum impedance and its corresponding frequency. I also need to identify the 3db points either side of the maximum impedance.

The 3db points are found at 2/3rds of the maximum value of the impedance (Impedance Mag in attached spreadsheet). Calculating the first 3db point isn't overly difficult as I just calculate the value for the 3db point and use the MATCH function to find the closest Impedance value and then work out the corresponding frequency from that. I am stumped as to how to calculate the second 3db point (above the Max impedance value). I have attached a spreadsheet with frequency information in column A, the other columns are used to derive the values found in columns M (Impedance Mag) and N.
