I have a list of 9 values ranging from 1 to 9 generated by formulas in column A. they can only be "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, or 9" and can be repetitive. Is there a formula i can use (not macro please) that will show me what values are missing from the list?

*Note there are 9 values in column A in any order. In this scenario the answer i would like shown is "3,6,9".
If seen a couple of examples but for whatever reason it doesn't work on my sheet. (Excel 2010 32 bit) I don't understand how to highlight the entire column to see this particular value is not in this list. I have two lists, I want to see what data am I missing In list 2 that I have in list one. Basically all I am trying to do is see what values are not in the second list but are in the first list so I can later add them to the second list. (Also the 2nd list is longer than the first if that makes a difference.)

I have a numerical X-axis with values such as 0,1,5,8,14, etc. I have another set of Y values that correspond to the X values. If this was an XY-scatter plot I'd be able to plot X vs. Y and connect the dots for "gaps" in the X values. Since it's a pivot chart I cannot use an XY-scatter plot, I can only use a line chart. The line chart doesn't give me the ability to add the "missing" values, so it gives the impression that my data is more closely packed than it is. The data source is external to my spreadsheet, so I cannot add the values before creating the pivot table/chart.

Such that a single cell has an ordered (ranked) list of the elements that relate to that AreaID. Also, any element with a value < 1 is returned in brackets, and elements that have a value of 0 are ignored.
Is it possible to have a formula that generate a Unique list (List 1 and List 2) of Missing values in List 2 by comparing two lists? Something like this

Note the the evaluation is for every three rows. So the three rows in the example are from a table with 150 rows. Each row begins a new evaluation for the next three.....Example:
698 and the following two starts the next set
885 and the following two starts the next set

and so on ......
I have a data validation list where more than one value should show the same list. Instead of make multiple range, I want to make it so if any of the values are in a cell the data validation list will show the list that goes with those values.

I am trying to find some missing values compared to 6 base values. For instance, I have a sheet with some names translated to another language, I am trying to find the languages some names have not been translated too.
For example, if I have six languages, Arabic, Japanese, Russian, Chinese-Simplified, Chinese- Traditional, and Korean to compare too, I want to find any names that are not translated in certain languages.

The attached file is what the data looks like after being exported. Basically, what I'm trying to do is insert rows for the missing numbers -- i.e., each name should be followed by rows numbered 1 through 10.

I've created a formula that can do that part, but it operates on the assumption that each name will be followed by a set number of rows.
What little I know about vba I've learned on my own, so I may just be missing something obvious.
I am facing a problem importing Excel data into a finicky graphics program. This program can't accept strings and numbers in the same column. Hence, strings such as #NA, or Excel's standard "" can't be used where there are missing values, as the entire column is then ignored.
But, I would like to provision for future data below the rows that currently exist.
Let's say I am trying to read data from Sheet1 of a workbook. The rows in Sheet1 contain formulas referencing other sheets (e.g. Sheet2!C1-Sheet2!C2). So, if Sheet2 doesn't have data in a certain row, Excel would show 0 in the formula on Sheet1. That would mess up my graph. If I use any other string or "" using a If statement for missing data, then the graphics program doesn't work.
Is there any way say, using dynamic ranges or similar, to populate blank cells in Sheet1 as data arrive in Sheet2, without a pre-existing formula being present in these Sheet1 cells? I can imagine that VBA macros will easily do this (e.g. the thread on Autofill below). But, is this possible without having to trigger a macro as and when additional data arrive?
I have two lists of data. The Master data in sheet one and the monthly download in sheet two. I want to create a macro that will identify the new entries in sheet two and add it to the bottom of the list in sheet one.

I am conducting data analysis on a large data set. Missing values are coded as NA. Likewise, when I perform a calculation on a NA value, I receive the # DIV/0! error.
I want to know how I can automatically change NA to the integer 0 in a large data set so when I perform a calculation on the NA value, I will receive 0 instead of #DIV/0!.
I have sub folders with names 0001, 003A, 0032 etc in a main folder. I am using the following code to copy these sub folders name to the worksheet column A. This works well except that folder 0001 is copied as 1, 0032 as 32. How to modify the code so that 0001 is displayed in column A instaed of 1.

The formula works well 50% of the time, but randomly skips over some values. I have attached a sample of what I'm working on.

I can't seem to find a way to make a data validation list automatically show the first item in the list rather than showing blank.

However the item I am looking for is not in the list but I can plainly see it on the screen.
I have tried many different ways of coming up with a solution of this problem without writing a VBA program, however, Excel's date and time formatting scheme seem to be tripping me up. As a result, I am trying to figure out what direction to go.
I have seached the board up and down looking for a solution and I have found one problem that is midly similar but I do not fully understand the code. I have tried to modify it but to no avail.

I have 9 columns of data that are reported in 15 minute intervals for a little over 3 years. There are missing data in the data set and it would be infeasable for me to manually find and replace the missing data. (Over 110000 rows of data)

So what I need to do is this:
1) Find which data times are missing
2) Add the appropriate amount of rows in between where the missing data would be
3) Add the correct dates to the new rows
4) Add "N/A" to the columns that have no data
You can see that my date and time are formatted in mm/dd/yy hh:mm

However the formula used to achive this is not compatable with previous versions of excel. Need alternative function that will bring the same outcome but work with pre 2007 versions (ie .xls file extention).
