I'm trying to create an "export" feature where certain data can be copied out to a new workbook. I want to copy out the following from the current workbook to a new one: Sheets("1TR").Range("C33:M999") to range("A1") in the new workbook and Sheets("1PL").Range("K33:K999") to range ("L1") in the new workbook.
The problem I'm having is that it is not just one copy/paste exercise, but two, and I don't know how to reference the new workbook as it doesn't have a filename.
I've attached below a small part of my code. I am wondering if there is a way to do this, without copying and pasting something 30 times, but using a loop instead. As you can see there are a series of productsNumbers (30 in total, but this example is for 3). Each productNumber is a string that is actually a 5 digit number, so it can be an integer as well, if it has to.
I would like to code below to loop for as many products as there may be. The way that I have it right now does not work - I feel that I am missing something small or that there is no way to do this.
I have a range A3:E70 where A3:E69 have the same formatting and the text in A70:E70 is bold. I want to copy-paste the entire range a number of times with a for ... next-loop. Actually, it's kind of a template system. I make the template A3:E70 and uses it a number of times.
I have a task which I am sure can be done quite simply. I have a list of names in column A and a number in column B. I want a Macro to copy the name in column c, d, e etc for the number in column b.
Basically on the file below whenever there is data in column "type" I want excel to copy the "name" and "account" next to it. The whole file has about 80,000 rows. Spacing is not always one blank row between accounts. I am using excel 2007.
I have a range of cells that is 10 rows high. I want to copy and paste this range 11 times while identifying each of the 11 copies of the range, such as; 02,03,04...12.
Please see attachment for an example of what I am trying to do.
Does anyone have an idea of how this might be done in VB?
I have a rand () which provides me a different number upon calculate. I would like to run a loop for 1000 times and take the value and copy and paste in a range.
The below sorta works, but at times it stops or doesn't work at all. I have a loop for the counter and the for each to place the value into the cell and have it run over and over and placing the value in the next cell underneath. I have the counter at 10 so I dont get stuck in some endless loop before I know it works.
Code:
Sub montecarlos() Dim MCs As Long Dim c As Range Dim lCount As Long Dim lNum As Long lCount = 0 lNum = 1 Worksheets("MonteCarlo").Activate
I enter a part number in "D1". The number of components required for that part number is returned in "G1" based on a VLookup. I would like a macro that will copy and paste the part number I enter in "D1" in the first empty cell in column "D" and will paste it once for each component (G1) required. For example, if the number of components required is 4, and the first empty cell in column "D" is "D10", I would like to paste the part number in cells "D10", "D11", "D12", and "D13".
Code copies the first two columns of a many column table and pastes them at a certain interval (14 columns) to make transfer to a report easy. The problem is that the worksheets each have a different number of columns, but none more than 56 columns. The macro works wonders on the first sheet, but thereafter does not work at all. The first sheet has 27 columns, the second sheet only has 4 columns and the one after has 38 or something.

i want to paste text for MB1 in column B like from MB1-1 to MB1-16 and MB1 2-1 to MB 2-16 because MB1 has 2 rows and 16 elements to repeat, for MB2 in cloumn B like MB2 1-1 to MB2 1-3 and MB2 2-1 to MB2 2-3 and MB2 3-1 to MB2 3-3 because MB has 3 rows and 3 elements to repeat like this i want to continue upto MB5
I am expecting like this
A B MB1 MB1 1-1 . . . MB1 1-16 MB1 2-1
[code]....
and i would like to continue this for the rest of text in column A .Here i tried with commond button simple and now i am in position to paste text in a given range but not the way i am expecting.
For each row in Column C, if the text starts with "Calls from service no", it must extract the last word and paste it into corresponding row in Column A. So if the macro finds a cell in Column C starting with "Calls from service no..", then the last word (the last word will always be a number and is seperated with a space) of this cell must be pasted in cell A45. So it must continue for all occurances in Column C. Sample of text in cell = "Calls from service no 0431324345" and "Calls from service no 3242134254" etc.
I also require similar, but this time it must extract as shown below. If text is found in Column C starting with "Local" or starting with "Long Distance" or starting with "Mobile", only this text, ie "Local" or "Long Distance" or "Mobile" must be pasted in Column B.
I need my macro to copy and paste from one worksheet to another, which is fine. However I need the copied value to be pasted into the last empty cell in a specific column. It is currently pasting each copied value into the last empty cell in column 'A' regardless of which column I specify it to copy to in my code.
I am using Excel 2007. I have a worksheet called January and I have a range of formatted cells in 'January' between B15:18 and BA15:18. Some contain formulas, others are just formated to size and or color. I want to copy and paste this range of cells (B15:18:BA15:18) to the next available unformatted or blank cell of the column of the same worksheet by pressing a button. I also need the newly pasted range to reset to their original formatting assuming data was entered before the button was pressed.
I type all the information into the Workbook called 'Form' in ' Sheet 1' and i need it to also transfer into the workbook named 'Master' in sheet 'August 08'
For Instance. It needs to copy Cell C4 from Sheet1 in Form and paste into the next empty cell in column A in August 08 in Master.
All comments/improvements would be much appreciated as the macro I attempted to create solely didnt work at all.
Is this possible using code: Copy Cell A1 and Paste in first empty Cell down Column D. This would be connected to a command button. Both Cell A1 and Column D are on the same spreadsheet.
I am making a worksheet that I intend to use to track my money. When I first open the worksheet, it opens on a tab where I can click a button to report a type of transaction. For example, if I make a withdrawl from the bank for $50, I click the button, it takes me to the sheet that tracks my bank-related stuff, selects a cell and opens up a form, at which point I type in what the transaction consisted of. However, the sheet also tracks what is in my wallet, so I'd like to finish reporting the bank transaction in the form, and have a button to click that reports the wallet part automatically.
So, essentially what I need to do is select several non-contiguous cells that are in the last row of the bank sheet, copy them, switch to the wallet-tracking sheet, and paste them in a row that is one past the last row of that sheet. The paste should keep the cells next to each other, even if they were non-contiguous when they were being copied.
I've searched for a solution on the board and the internet too but to no avail; I am trying to create a macro that will select the entire column based on a cell reference G1 which is infact a Date.
Column G to Column S are pre-defined with a specific Date in row 8. If the Date in one of these columns (G8 to S8) match with the Date in cell G1, say it finds a match with H8, then I want to copy the range F14:F2000 and paste as values in range H14:H2000. The possibility of a match found is limited to a single columns from G to S.
I need to copy Invoice id from Column B to Column A, firstly it would be to the cell one down and one across, ie data from B3 is copied to A4. I then need to continue to copy this data down in column A but only while there is a date in column B.
I have a workbook that I have set up some VBA code so that when it opens I have a box ask, "View Data" or "Start New Audit." When the user clicks "Start New Audit" Excel creates a new sheet, names it based on the current date (in yyyymmdd format), and copies a range from a sheet called "Master Sheet" to this new sheet. These new sheets are for users to input data on a daily basis. As that data is typed in, there are four different columns that have an average function at the bottom. I need the result of that average function to be sent to another pre-existing sheet on the next empty row so that I can create a chart out of it.
Please see attached sample worksheet. Column A will be generated by the user manually.
I'm looking for a way in VBA to have A1:D20 in Sheet2 copied and pasted in the "Bank Reconciliation" Sheet based on how many "Markets" there are in Column A. Then, once that's complete to have A22:D30 (the smaller box in Sheet2) copied and pasted directly below those results.
I have what the macro would hopefully generate to the right in "Bank Reconciliation" (B6:E54) as an example. So if there's a market in A1, copy and paste the box to B6. If there's a market in A2, copy and paste the box directly below the first (B26) etc. etc. until it's done, then paste the smaller box directly below whatever the macro generates.
I have rather large Excel file that spans around 245 columns & has multiple users responsible for certain columns. Columns are chunked to provide data about a specific group. Every 72 hours, I need to provide to managers what’s currently on this file in a specific summary format.
I’ve recorded a macro that gets me half way there. Here’s where I’m clueless. After my macro deletes unnecessary columns, what remains are the columns for “Main Data” group + each of the 5 “Business” groups (Investors, Lawyers, Credit, Finance, and Support) which would have identical column headings.
(1) Name (2) Address (3) ID# (4) Control#
Furthermore, for each of the 5 “Business” groups, there are 9 slots (ie- a user can enter up to 9 unique entries for a particular group.)
Example- The Investor group contains 9 slots. Each slot will contain the 4 columns mentioned above. So there are 46 slots in total – 1 for Main Data, 45 (5 groups x 9 slots) for Business groups.
MY PROBLEM: I need a macro to now cut & paste all data from each of the 45 Business groups slots & then paste at the bottom of the MAIN DATA slot.
The final file would be 4 columns (as listed above) wide. Data from each of the 45 business group slots would be one below the other- all of it underneath the data in the Main Data group.
I attempted to record a macro where I’m copying a section’s data range starting from row2 to row4000 (I know there will never be 4000 entries. I did this just to ensure that all future data would be captured) then pasting that after the last entry in the Main Data.
Example- I’d copy data from Investor1 slot(starting at column E2-H2) & go about 4000 rows down. Then I’d press CTRL+Down Arrow key in column A & then click the down arrow one time to take me into 1st empty cell where I would paste my copied data. I was going to repeat this process for the remaining 44 slots.
I’ve added some extra entries to test the macro & the problem is that the recorded macro is pasting data in specific cell location in column A instead for looking for the 1st empty cell in column A & then pasting the copied data.
So far I've gone thought the net & tried to paste in a few VBA posts/tips that I thought would work. Here's what I have so far from tinkering around. I need someone to tell me what to replace the xxxxxxx line with. This would be the language to tell Excel to paste copied data range into the first blank cell in column A. i attach the testing2.xls attachment here. from the sheet 1 "original", how to copy from 1 column, column"B" and then paste to column "A" by clicking function "alt + enter" at the same row but different row in the same cell. Output result can refer to the sheet 2 "output".
