Trying to create a simple loop that will change the visibility of a large quantity of CheckBoxes when a certain value is selected within a ComboBox . I'm very new VBA programming and loops are not something I've tried yet. My code currently is this:

I have multiple comboboxes with correlating checkboxes. That is, checkbox 1 goes with combobox 1, 2 goes with 2, etc.
When a particular button is pressed, I would like the combobox to clear it's value if it's checkbox value is false. I was hoping there would be an easier, more efficient process than what I have, which works and is as follows:

I have a sheet where in some terms are provided. Users have to open this sheet and check its description. After going through all the terms, they have to select the required terms using a checkbox given beside these terms. After checking the reqd. boxes, they would click on 'Submit' at the end of the sheet.

I have a userform which uses the tag property of the frame to determine whether a frame is visible (and hence the controls that reside within the frame). A frame contains three combo boxes, and six text boxes. The tag property of the frame matches the number of frames that are visible on the form, so that if the user selects five frames, frames 1 through five become visible and for all other frames visible = false. A frame contains all the data for a single entry. There can be up to fifty frames/ entries that are visible on the form depending on the user selection.
I want to use the visibility property to do two things: first the combo boxes are filled from an array after the user selects the number of frames (or entries). I only want to fill the comboboxes where the frame is visible. The second thing is that I have a function which uses the data from the text boxes and combo boxes as required arguments. Since these are required arguments, I will get a data mismatch error if I try to call it and the controls are empty. Therefore, I only want to call the function if the frame which houses the controls is visible.

I'm creating a user form that will have 10 checkboxes on it. Depending upon certain conditions being met elsewhere in the workbook, I would like to populate the checkboxes' captions with data from the workbook.
My question is, can I loop the procedure with the variable number included in the checkbox name (well, more to the point, HOW can I loop the procedure...)?
I would like to do something like this:

I need to create a macro that can create a dynamic copy/paste loop. So far what I have is horribly inefficient. Each row in colmn A(minus the header) has a unique number in it. For each unique number, I need to paste it based on the number of column headers in row 1(minus column A). So, if there are 20 column headers, I need to copy cell A2 and paste it 19 times in another sheet. Then, I need to move to the next number in column A and do the same thing. Here's what I have:

You can see that this is not dynamic. If I add another row to my table and rerun the macro, it will not catch it. I've attached a sample file to show you the big picture of what I'm trying to do. The data that I have is in Sheet1, and I'm trying to get it into the format in Sheet3. Rows/columns will be periodically added to the table in Sheet1, so the macro needs to be dynamic to catch that. The data in Sheet3 will always remain, and the macro will add the updated data below the old data in Sheet3.

Then to the right of that, I would have each of the Materials as actual columns so that column B is "Wood", column C is "Drywall", and column D is "Metal".
The way I would want it to work from there is that whatever options I select from the dropdown, it would then put a TRUE flag in that column. So if I select "Wood" and "Metal" on the dropdown checkbox list, columns B and D would both read TRUE on that particular row.

Basically on each row, I would select a number of Materials, and the following columns for those Materials would populate TRUE for the ones that I selected on that row. This was just an example, but I would scale this up to around 30 Materials for hundreds of rows/entries.

Now I want to write some code that will insert a checkbox to the left of each new row of data, (presumably in column A). I'm getting confused because I have never worked with checkboxes before and when I search the net for info. I'm getting some hits on Userforms (which I don't want), others on ActiveX controls and still others on form controls (what I think I need).
Here is some more info on what I'll be doing with them:
I am writing a second macro to see which boxes are checked. For any checked boxes I want the respective data to be sent to a mail merge and then the entire row, data and checkbox, to be deleted.
This adds a minor complication because if I delete a row, then all rows and checkboxes below it will need to move up. Is this something that will happen naturally or do I need to create some special code to handle that.
The final complication is that the data is data is going to sorted sometime between the creation of the checkbox and its later deletion. I'm wondering whether its necessary to keep a checkbox associated with a particular row, or if I can just tell the checkbox to figure out which row it exists at.
So, to sum up. I need to:
First - Learn how to create a checkbox
Second - Scan through all existing checkboxes and see which ones are checked
Third - Delete rows and sort the data while maintaining one checkbox for each row of data.

Just wondering if something like this is possible, as I wanted to apply this concept to a much larger scale (About 29 columns for 29 Materials, scrolling left and right is really time consuming). So far I've only seen guides on how to create a SINGLE checkbox on a row, and none with multiple checkboxes that would function in this manner.
I have a userform with 17 checkboxes that their captions should correspond with column A range ("A2:A18) on a worksheet.
Is there a way in userform_initialize, or activate, to create the captions from that range?

I need to populate two combo boxes from excel sheet, the data will be like below:

So from the above data, one combo box should hold unique values A & B.
On selecting a value from the 1st combo box A or B, respective values should be populated in 2nd combo box.
So the data should be like below:
If A is selected in the 1st combo box, then 2nd combo box should only show the values 1,2,3,4 & 5.
If B is selected in the 1st combo box, then 2nd combo box should only show the values 100,101 & 102.
Friends I need it in a macro and one important point is, this is dynamic and it is not static and the data can be more.
I have two sheets in my workbook:
J_Database, a prototypical database
J_ComData, a custom worksheet that prints out an invoice-like document.
I have a combobox (cboName) in a userform that is populated by a dynamic range from J_Database. Once I hit my command button, I would like the program to loop through all of the records, one-by-one, and input the values from the combobox, and drop them in cell A1 of J_ComData.
From here, the remaining information about the combobox value from J_Database will be retrieved and J_ComData will be printed.

This code works if I select just one name, have it populate A1 with that name, and then print out the document. However, writing the code so it will just print through all of them at one time.
try and achive is when a user selects a item from the 1st Combobox the 2nd Combobox is the populated with the cell that is to the right of the selected item.
for Example if a user selects AAB from combobox1,, Combobox2 should populate with Belly.
Maby using combobox1_Exit for the excercise.

Further a Userform with 2 Comboboxes "FirstName" and "SurName"
I'd like to choose the FirstName (say Jack) in the "FirstName" combobox, and based on that get the choice of the Surnames of all my Jacks in the "SurName" combobox.
Actually my sheet has much more fields and comboboxes, but i think my problem is just that I do not find a way to populate them dynamically.

I have 12 comboboxes on a userform which I have set to dropdown list and want to populate during the userform initialization. Each combobox is called "pt*" where * is a number from 1 - 12. I have currently set up my code with 12 lines, one for each combobox to apply the same dropdown list to each of the 12 boxes.

I'm interested to learn how to improve my code to loop through 1-12 and apply the rowsource to each combobox.
I did search through some past questions but could only come up with a method which seemed to step through every combobox on a worksheet rather than userform and in my case, I have two other comboboxes on the userform which I do not want to add this rowsource to, only the "pt*" named comboboxes.

I have a form that an administrator will open to search for items needing approved (ie. status is "Submitted" and they'll be going in to confirmit). The datasource is a table. For these purposes I'll arbitrarily call it Table1 for ease. There are multiple columns in the table, and I'll set the column width to "0" for those I don't want displayed, so we'll call the columns to be displayed Col2, Col3, and Col22. There are two dependents, because Col2 is the Division, of which there are 3 (Central, East, and West). The administator will select their Division and the associated ListBox will display results for all locations having a item status of "Submitted". Col3 will be the branch name, and Col25 with be a total $ amount of the order. Cbo1 (ComboBox1) will house the Private Sub Change() for the macro after a division has been selected.

I copied and pasted Column A into Column C and then removed duplicates. I named Column C 'ValList' and placed it in the RowSource for ComboBox1. What I now want is for ComboBox2 to populate based on my selection in ComboBox1. There are no duplicates in Column B. Duplicates are in Column A.
I also named Column A 'Proc_Grp' and Column B 'ADA_QSI_Desc'
For the properties in Combobox2, I left the RowSource empty. (that's correct right?) Because there's going to be a code that links Combobox2 to Combobox1... I think...
I have a combobox in which are the numbers 1 thru 10. I'd like for the user to be able to choose a number and then that number of textboxes appear below. I have the textboxes invisible on the userform and I'm trying to work out to code to show them when the number is selected (by command button). Heres my code, it only seems to show my first set of textboxes no matter what number is in the combo box. Can someone please help me make this work? And is there a more concise way to do this?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI created an automation process where worksheets are generated. But after the sheets are generated I noticed that one of the company names is missing from the list. As I am watching the worksheets generate I can see the name quickly printing on the screen. When I use a message box to validate the data entry, the name does appear. After all is generated, the name is still missing. Does anyone know what this could be? Could it be a software malfunction?
