I have successfully loaded a combo box lookup in one cell referencing a column in another worksheet. While the drop down is pulling in all the names listed, there are duplicates in the data set. I want the drop down to only pull unique names. Is there a way I can do this and still use the combo box feature.
I have 36 cells that will have multiple letter values. The cells in the range (MyRange) in question, have formulas in them. I will be transferring this into a cell range that has over 6000 cells, but I'll worry about that when I get this part down. :D I have 07 excel but this is in the older versions.
I'm looking to pull names from a database to a particular sheet based on what info is displayed in the database. I have six names listed in the database with a league type and position. I have three different tabs at the bottom for where the info is supposed to pull depending on the player type.
For example, I want all six players to pull to the 'Mixed' tab and populate the appropriate area based on their position. Next I'd like the 3 players with 'AL' for their league type to populate only on the AL tab and likewise for the players with 'NL' for the NL tab. Not only do I need the players to pull to the appropriate tab but i also want them to populate in the right position within that tab.
Essentially I have a sheet of names. This is just my master database. Other sheets get names from this sheet. The names are alphabetized. When I add a new name, the names are resorted on other sheets, but the data assocaiated with those names does not move.
I'm not including my spreadsheet because it has company information however, I will try to articulate my request as best I can. I currently have an Excel spreadsheet with about 20 worksheets, I would like to be able to click on the first worksheet, create a "Drop Down box" or "Data Validation" box or whatever I need to do to be able to view information in a range of cells on ANOTHER worksheet within the same workbook.
I've tried Data Validation, Drop Down Boxes, Define name ranges, all to NO avail. I'm missing a step somewhere, because I'm still not able to view the information on the first worksheet.
I would like to create a macro which will look at columns A,B and C. Based on A,B and C, I would like the macro to return only the unique combinations. At the same time, I would like columns D and E to perform a sum.
This is the original sheet:
******** ******************** ************************************************************************>Microsoft Excel - Trial19.xls___Running: 11.0 : OS = Windows XP (F)ile (E)dit (V)iew (I)nsert (O)ptions (T)ools (D)ata (W)indow (H)elp (A)boutE1E2E3= ABCDE1A1YES1032B2YES1013C3NO1034D4MAYBE1015D4MAYBE101NJSS* [HtmlMaker 2.42] To see the formula in the cells just click on the cells hyperlink or click the Name box PLEASE DO NOT QUOTE THIS TABLE IMAGE ON SAME PAGE! OTHEWISE, ERROR OF JavaScript OCCUR.
This is what the sheet will look like once the macro I would like to create is executed.

As you can see, the highlighted areas denotes the changes that were executed through the macro.
I have a spreadsheet with data of customer orders. I am looking for a way to pull the customers who have placed an order between January and August, but did NOT place an order in September (in order to reach out to those customers who have stopped ordering).
I can't post attachments for some reason, so this is a description of how the sheet looks.
Column: A - Delivery Date (MM/DD/YYYY) B - Month (MM) --> formula created to pull month from column A. For example 2/12/2013 returns "2" C - First Name D - Last Name
I need to find a way to create a list of customers, without duplicates, who placed an order previous to Sept, but not in Sept. So, pull unique names from column C and D that have an entry in column B of 1-8, but NOT 9.
I just started playing with creating my own macros. I've written a macro to pull all the names of the worksheets in a workbook, now what I want to do is write a piece of code that will pull data from a cell in those worksheets.
So for instance I have all my worksheet names in cell A1 to A10, I want to pull the data from cell E1 from every worksheet in A1 to A10. Can someone help me with a sample code to work with. I'm still reading Power Progamming haven't gotten so far yet.
I have a database output file where one of the columns contains managers names, often more than once. I want to apply an autofilter on manager name and then copy the result to another sheet or sheets. My criteria for the autofilter is a variable pointing to a list of names that at present I maintain by hand; a for-each-next loop then cycles through the names.
What I would like to do, before running the autofilter code, is to create the list of names via code. This would then automatically pickup names that are missing.
The code I have so far is below:
Public Sub find_managers() Dim managers1 As Range Dim names1 As Range Dim n1 As Variant Dim n2 As Variant
In my mind it should check the names in the unique list against the imported list and add any missing names.
I found something I would like for my workbook. I found it on MVP Debra Dalgleish's page http://www.contextures.com/xlDataVal03.html. The original code is from Peo Sojblom and it's about hiding previously used items in a drop down box. I have my list of dealers on a sheet (GamesDealt):
Col A is a list of Dealers (casino type).
col B is their hire date.
From Col C thru I has headings of: BJ PG WH TCP BS MB CR (games we offer) I have an "X" in the row under the colunm of what game(s) they deal. Most dealers deal more than one game.........
I am creating an appointment calendar for the local free clinic. There are over 1300 patients. I used validation to create a drop down list in each 15 minute time segment of the schedular.
Two questions. 1. It does not scroll through all of the names....leaves the last 100 or so off. When I chose the validation List I chase the entire column. Is there a maximum length for Lists?
2. With that many names, it is a slow scroll. Is there anyway to enter the first letter of the patient name and have the scroll list go to that point on the list?
I usually try to figure these out myself, but the clinic needs the appointment scheduler as soon as possible.
What I have is a spreadsheet with a names column A and purchasing information in columns B-AA pertinent to the name in A. Additional information pertinent to the same name in Cell A1 exists in B2:AA2, or 3 etc. depending on the number of purchases made by the name in column A. The spredsheet is well over 100,000 rows long. Is there a method of copying the names so that each purchase has the correct name associated with it in the corresponding (currently empty) cell in column A? .....
I have a form where I have to have the following info on the top left corner of the form for our clients:
TO:Name of client Address, city, zip... Phone number Fax Number
I need to find a way to create a drop down list where I have my contacts information so that if I pick a name, it will show up on my form but also have the address, phone....in the format as above so that I don't have to keep inputting the information manually as there are over 20 names.
I'm writing a purchase order entry form for my company. I've used the above formulas to create drop down lists with addresses for each of our stores and vendors, but I need form to automatically select the correct "ship to:" location. Some stores will always have merchandise shipped to the store regardless of the vendor. Other stores will always have the product shipped to a warehouse location, but in a few stores the product will be shipped either to the store or a warehouse depending on the vendor.
I've been able to work out the formulas for the stores that have shipments always to one location by creating a second address table and linking the selected store to it.
Here is basically what I need:
Store A + Vendor A = Store A Store A + Vendor B = Store A Store B + Vendor A = Warehouse Store B + Vendor B = Store B Store C + Vendor A = Warehouse Store C + Vendor B = Warehouse
I have a workbook with the twelve months of the year as seperat worksheets. a thirteenth worksheet is a "total" page. I have three different names to choose from a drop down list in collumn E. I need a formula that will say something like, "if JanuaryE4 = John Doe, total page A1= January A1" Is this possible?
I have multiple columns with names (lets say columns A, B, and C). I want to place only the unique names in column E. Is there a formula to do this? Each column does not contain all the names and each has names that are not in any of the other columns.
I have a spreadsheet with a series of names in a column and respective dollar values in a separate column. I would like a formula to automatically total the value spent against a particular name (without having to enter the name as a value each time).
Example
John Doe 3.89 John Doe 1.27 John Doe 0.98 Amy Smith 1.56 Amy Smith 2.29 Amy Smith 1.11 Alex Brown 0.67 Alex Brown 4.56 Alex Brown 8.87
I would like a formula to automatically populate a column, spreasheet, etc as follows:
I have a column which has about 600 Names, and some of them are repeated, so I want to extract the Unique of them into a separate column, How can I do that?
I'm making an excel file where I keep track of the scoring in a little competition me and my friends do with betting on sports.
However, I got a little problem trying to automate my ranking.
Naamloos.jpg
As you can see in the image, when there is a duplicate score, the name stays the same for every other same value (Joris). The formula I use (also as seen in the image) just takes the first name it comes across (from left to right) and keeps using that one. But I need it to ignore the name Joris the second time, and ignore Joris AND Tim the third time, so that every score/rank (even if the scores are a draw) has a unique name attached to it.
I have two different lists of names. One is about 3000 names long and the other has about 3500 names. I want to identify the 500 people that are not in the first list that are in the second. If there anyway to do this? I was going to put them in A-Z order and then go through and using an IF(A=B,"yes","no") and go through and insert new cell when ever it says no till it says yes BUT the functions start messing up when I insert a new row and it's taking way too long.
I have list of various city names in column B. From that i need unique city names in validation cell.
The reason is,
we have emp id, name, designation, area, marital status for our employees. From that if i select emp id from validation cell1 i have to get all employee id's available in the sheet1 is need to come under the validation2 cell automatically. and if i select "area" from validation cell1, all unique areas need to be list out in the validation cell2. Its look likes a filter. but without filter i need this for creating application.
I need to set up a formula to choose 2 job titles from a single column. There can be 2 to n job titles (non-repeating) and I want to find the title at random. I have no problem finding the first job title using index and randbetween, but I want the second title to meet the same criteria, just not equal to the first job title.
