Make Macro To Bring Tables From Another Sheet To Cover Sheet?
Jul 8, 2014
I am trying to take the tables you will see in the dummy page on the second and third sheet and have them output onto the first sheet based on the parameters of the drop down menus. Is there a way to have a button on the first page that controls a macro to do this?
In my database I am often inserting a new row in between two rows of data and then entering information across 8 cells. I have to manually enter all of the same information on sheet 2, again between two rows that already have data. Is there a macro or formula that would work so that I don't have to enter it twice?
I have a workbook that has a cover sheet which contains the names of all the tabs in the workbook. I need to be able to change the names in the cover sheet and the names in the tabs to be change to whatever the corresponding cell in the cover sheet text is.
I have 36 pages of names, addresses & contact info ETC that I want to print. I have a printer that offers a cover sheet in the print setup.
My list of names addresses ETC takes up two full pages of paper for each name. There are 16 columns across the sheet that contain data for each entry. I would like to print this so that I can turn the pages like an address book and see all of the data for a given set of contacts on each two page spread. So what I need to do is print the first half of the contact info on the inside of the first page and the second half on the next page and so on.

I would like the "Finish Summary by Age" tab worksheet to look like the "Nursery Master Sheet" and "Circle K 1 - CD Farms Nursery" tab worksheets. I'd like the "Finish Summary by Age" tab worksheet to cover the majority of the paper like worksheets on the other tabs.
Some of the sheets in my spreadsheet contain some data and graphs with a few macros that are run when a button is pressed. At the bottom I have some comments with a macro that is run to timestamp when these comments are updated or edited.
What I would like to do is lock the entire sheet so that the data and graphs can't be tampered with, apart from the comments part at the bottom because I'd like to be able to have the comments editable. So far I have managed to do that, but when I edit a comment and the timestamp code is run it creates a run-time error 1004. I could just remove the timestamp code I guess but I'd like to keep it there... figuring that there must be a solution.
How can I work around this problem ? Either by being able to keep the sheet locked and still have the timestamp code run, or have it temporarily unlock the sheet - run the code - and then re-lock the sheet.
I want to create a macro that will allow me to create a set number of copies of a specific sheet within the workbook. I have one sheet within my workbook entitled "Tab". I want to create a macro that will ask me how many copies I want to create and then proceed to create all the copies. i.e.: select to create 4 copies, with the result being: Tab[original], Tab(2), Tab(3), Tab(4), Tab(5)
I'm in the leadup to my A2 ICT controlled conditions piece where i have to make an Excel system. My chosen subject for this is to use the school house points system. I'm going to make a system where the results of house matches are inputted and points are awarded accordingly.
I just have a couple of queries after looking at my initial designs.
1. Is it possible to get excel to look through a sheet, find a text reference, then bring up something in a cell located in the same row? For example, for it to locate one of the House team names, then go along the row and find the ammount of house points they have in order to make a total for them. Is this also possible over a number of sheets? (In order to keep a running total on a separate sheet). E.G. House, Games Played, Wins, Losses, Draws, House Points
2. For the house cross country event they use a different system which differs from everything i have designed. What i basically need to do is be able to use a drop down against each finishing position where you can select one of the four house teams, then it takes the points won for that finishing position and puts them into a table.
I have a workbook with several sheets of varying length (amount of columns). The length of each sheet changes every week. I want particular data from the sheets to come together on one sheet in as organized a fashion as is possible. I'm currently losing my mind copying and pasting every week when I need to update the thing.
I downloaded a Mileage Log Template. I made 1 sheet for March 2013, I want to make another sheet for April, May, June, etc. How do I make the sheets all the same, i.e., the same format with the same cells and everything else?
How do you reference a table on another sheet so that when you sort that original table it doesn't change the reference you made on that other sheet.
i know how to do this when i am referencing a cell. for instance if i am referencing a cell on sheet 5 and that comes out to something like =Sheet5!B2, i know that when i sort the data differently in sheet 5, that reference will know to change to =Sheet5!B18 or where ever that original reference ends up in this new sorting. but if I do =Table5 or something, and i sort that table differently, the reference will change to the new data in that cell and will not follow old reference through the new sort.
EXAMPLE: Complete Sheet called "Day1". When day1 is complete you click on button and it then copies itself and creates and renames new sheet to "Day2", then when "Day2" is complete you click on button and it then copies itself and creates and renames new sheet to "Day3", and so on and so forth to "Day30".
I have one sheet with 25 tables in it, And i want to extract the whole row from this sheet to another sheet based on values ( Office1, Office2, Office3, Office4 ) if appeared in thrid column "C".
- the 25 tables created on the 1st sheet to be in the other sheets as formatted as well. - once "Office1" appeared in the original sheet in the 1st table, Action : copy the whole row to sheet named "Office1"at the top row in the first table. - once "office1" appeared again in the original sheet in the 1st table, Action: copy the whole row to sheet named "Office1"at the 2nd top row in the first table. - once "office1" appeared again in the original sheet in the 2nd table, Action: copy the whole row to sheet named "Office1"at the top row in the 2nd table. - and so on, the same with other 3 remains sheet.
I have a portfolio of 23 funds and I need to calculate IRR for each one every month.
The problem is that I have dispersed information for each fund.
For instance in sheet CashCallsBD I have a table with the funds cash calls. This table has a first column with the Fund Name then other column with the cash call date, another column with the cash call value. This table may have other columns. One fund may have several cash calls.
In sheet DividendosBD there is a table with some columns that refer to cash distribution movements. The main columns relevant for this case are Fund Name, Date and finally Cash Distribution (signed in red in the attached document)
And then my problem: In order to calculate IRR for each fund I need to create a table (for each fund) that merges and sorts the information of CashCallsBD, Dividendos BD and present market value for each fund and then apply the XIRR function. For each fund this sorted table would have at least 2 columns (date and values).
many times i am confrunted with excel files containing one sheet that has many tables on it. i need to print each table so that it fits on one page, but these tables are not formatted so that they fit, therefore i need a fast way to make each table fit on 1 printed page, no matter how big it is or how it is centered on the page size from page layout(many times the table is bigger than the page layout size). i tried selecting each table holding down ctrl and then hitting set print area, but most of the times this doesnt work, i still get part of the first table and the begining of the second table on the second printed page and so on, which is not good.
I have a data set that is defined as a table (Ctrl + T). There are formulas so I locked those cells and Protected the sheet. If I am at the bottom right cell, and press Tab to add a new row, I get an error message: "Cannot use this table functionality on a protected sheet"
I really need to protect the cells with formulas so that the are not accidentally deleted. But I also want to retain the Table format.
I have attached a 97-2003 .xls file with data for multiple store locations on sheet 1, and the desired result on sheet 2. I am actually using excel 2007, but I dont think I need any special features that it provides.
I will try to explain the issue here without opening the attachment.
I am using Excel 2010 and I have a password protected workbook with password protected sheets that uses several macros. Most of them, in order to run, have to un-protect the sheet and then re-protect it again. This has been accomplished easily enough by adding ActiveSheet.Unprotect Password:= "mypassword" and ActiveSheet.Protect Password:= "mypassword" to the appropriate places in the script. All of my macros, which do various things like sorting and moving data, deleting blank rows, displaying dialog boxes containing warning messages etc. run fine.
My problem is this: when I password protect the sheets manually, I have checked the following options in the "Protect Sheet" dialog box. Under "Allow users of this worksheet to" I have checked 1)Select unlocked cells and 2)Format cells. After entering my password and closing the dialog box my sheet is protected, but I can edit cells in the manner my allowances permit. However, once I run any of the macros that un-protect and re-protect the sheet, I remain able to select and edit unlocked cells (practically, for my purposes, this means that I can input data which will appear in the default font size and color of the sheet) but I cannot format cells (which, practically, for my purposes would allow me to occasionally change the font color and size of the data). Naturally, after running a macro, the other cell-formatting options are unavailable to me as well. Is there any way to get my manual selections to remain in place after running a macro that functions as mine do? Or is there any way to make my manual selections the default settings for a protected sheet?
I am running excel 2010 with windows 7. I created a macro in sheet 1 and I wish to activate the macro from sheet 2 using a form button. I have entered the code below. I know how to perform this function on a more simple macro like adding names to cells. This code is a bit more complex I just dont know where to start.
i need a macro that will compare the p'folios in sheet "Data to Sheet Workings, and then list the p;folios which is in sheet Data but not in workings in Sheet "New", so in the example below this would be ETSTSA ...
I need a Macro which pulls the data from different sheets of excel (which is not formatted properly) to Main Sheet. Also some of the columns will not have the same names, so macro should handle this exception as well.
How to write a code to import all tables from a single word document into a single excel sheet? (we don't know exactly how many tables there will be,or how many rows in a table there will be , but the columns are certain, which is 9, from A to I.
I need to create a macro that will scan a spreadsheet for the number of sheets and then pull data from the same places on each sheet in order to create a summary sheet. Let me try to explain a little better.
The spreadsheet I'm working with has a separate sheet for each new deal our company makes. Each of these sheets is in the same format - we use a template and fill in the data based on that whenever a new deal emerges. The sheets contain basic info about the deal in the first few rows and columns, then some narratives with dates describing the progress of the deal, and then a list of issues and whether or not they have been resolved. The problem is, each of these sheets contains too much info for a quick, high-level overview with the bosses so they've asked me to create something that will pull the basic info, the most recent narrative, and any unresolved issues from each sheet. This way, each time there's an overview scheduled with the bosses, the macro can be run and it will create a new sheet with data from each sheet in the workbook.
