I am trying to create a worksheet that you fill in data on the master tab, and it copies to the appropriate secondary tab based on set of criteria
I have one worksheet with multiple tabs.
Tab 1 - Master
- This tab is updated by admin with new contacts
Tab 2 - Customer service rep 1
- This tab will have all the listings that have the CSR1 in a column in the master table.
Tab 3 - Customer Service rep 2
- This tab will have all the listings that have the CSR2 in a column in the master table.
Each table has the same columns of data which all need to be copied to the sub tables if the CSR column matches.
Is there a formula that would work to auto copy data from the master to the appropriate sub tab or maybe its needs to be done in VB?
I am working on a project and would like to see if there is a solution for it. i have a workbook that has data entry that is summarized at a master level but I need to automatically use a formula to update another sheet after clicking an udpate button. The data from the data entry sheet needs to be allocated to all the lines that has the same master item based on the formula. A test workbook is attached ...
I have three months that people fill out on separate sheets. I would like to use a macro to place the contents only from a certain amount of columns to as many rows as it takes (not blank).
I have a file that will have a maximum of about 25 tabs in it. They are all the same format - Column A have account codes, Column B have the account name and Column C through to Column AD have figures. Column B has a drop down menu, so not all tabs will have the same account code on the same row.
I thought that I would create another spreadsheet in the file and call it a master sheet with the same formats as all the other tabs but this master file will have all of the account codes available and will not have a drop down menu in column B. What I wanted to do was consolidate all of the 25 tabs in the master sheet.
Example Worksheets TAB 1 Acc Code Desc Amount 1________a___10 2________b___10
I am trying to create a master list in a new sheet based on the data contained in 4 separate tabs. The data is Username, Display Name, Company. Unfortunately some users have accounts in 2 of the companies (with the same username) and I need these to default to Company A.
The output need to be username, Display Name, Company.
From a master (data entry) spreadsheet of work projects, I'd like to automatically create a tab for each individual contributor that lists all projects they are involved with. The thing is that being a contributor can mean being the lead, assisting with, or being the technician on the project (all columns in the master). To make the individual tabs easier to read, it'd be great to have that tab's contributor name in red, wherever it happens to fall in the various columns.
I've created an example that's a little simpler than reality - in real life there would be 20 tabs for the individual contributors and instead of 3 "Assist" columns there would be 20 columns.
I am creating a spreadsheet to track customer data and need to reference certain cells in individual customer tabs to a master sheet that contains every customer. Each customer will have his own tab, each tab having the same layout, and each client will also have their own row on one master sheet within the same workbook.
My question is, is it possible to reference the specific cells in the clients individual tab to the master list once, and then everytime I copy a new client tab, the referenced cells in that tab are immediately referenced to the corresponding client (new) row in my master sheet within the same workbook?
I am trying to do is write a macro that will pull two tabs labeled "XXXXMarch" "XXXXPTD" (the x's represent numbers) from each file within a designated folder and copy them into a master file.
I have a macro that enables me to split my master table into separate tabs based on the first column. However, the column widths and the header format is not retained. Is there something I can add to the macro below to keep the formatting?
Code: Sub DispatchTimeSeriesToSheets() Dim ws As Worksheet Set ws = Sheets("MasterList") Dim LastRow As Long
I need the tabs of a project action log to auto-populate and auto-delete in a master log. (So when something is added or deleted in a tab it is added or deleted on the master) I use excel a little bit for work and personal finance purposes but I have zero experience with macros or VBA.
I have a workbook that includes 4 seperate sheets that are used to record time and expenses for 4 members of staff. I want to write a macro to select the data I need from each sheet and colaberate together in a 'data' sheet so I can combine all the info to run time and expense reports per client showing combination of all time and expense incurred from all 4 staff.
I have named cell ranges in each of the 4 time-sheets. I proceed to record a macro, select the first named range, copy and paste into my data sheet, do a control home then control down arrow, then one more down arrow to get to the first blank cell and repeat the process for all four time-sheets.
This works until I add a new line and then the data will only appear for the last time-sheet (last row of data).
I have three source workbooks that needed to be consolidated into a master workbook pasting the data with values & formatting.
The Master workbook also contains 6 additional worksheets that link to the data pulled in from the source files. My question is how do I write the code so the source files populate the master in a specific order. For example, the 3 source files are named "Central" "NED" and "WEST" and I need them to populate the master workbook in that order.
This is the code I am using to consolidate the data:
Option Explicit Sub ConsolidateSheetsFromWorkbooks() 'Author: Jennifer Starr 'Date: 7/12/2013 'Summary: Open all files in a folder and merge data (stacked) on all
We have folders of daily cash collections stored in such a manner, yearmonth. In every month, we will have worksheets sent by the end user to the finance dept, naming it using mmdd. (The folder in the drive will reads: C:Daily Cash Collection2013), (C:Daily Cash Collection2013 0104.xlxs), (C:Daily Cash Collection2013 0115.xlxs). I intend to put the master list outside the year folder, meaning, in the Daily Cash Collection folder (C:Daily Cash CollectionDCC_2013.xlsm). When I have a new folder for year 2014, my master list will be here (C:Daily Cash CollectionDCC_2014.xlsm)
I am looking to automate this opening of all the daily worksheets, select all data except the header row, and copy it into a master list (which will be data for the whole year, with 3 months of the previous year data).
The data in the daily sheets, it will have collections of the same Debit Note number from the file sent earlier. Meaning, if the file was sent on 0104, there is a DN0114-0002, collection of $50. In another daily sheets 0115, it will also have a collection of DN0114-0002 of $20. This 2nd information of $20 will also need to be captured as the payment in 0301 is partial and incomplete.
I will need to copy the daily sheets into the master list every now and then. Is there a way to check and copy the daily sheets and not repeating it and missed out one?
In another words, if I had already copied Jan sheets into the master list, will it look for the next worksheet that I had not copy and copy according the DN number? (it will be in running number but sometimes will have DN of the previous month due to the partial payment ealier).
Alternatively, if this is too complicated, how to insert a macro to copy all cells except the header (will be in fixed column and the first row will be fixed) from an open daily sheet, find the last row in the master list and copy it to the master list, and after copying, unclear the selection of the daily sheet and close the daily? Where can I put this macro as the daily sheet is from the end user. I can only put it into my master list, but my problem is, the file name of the daily sheet is not fixed, it depends on the day the end user saved and email the data to Finance Dept.
I am looking for VBA code to extract data from each tab into master tab based on data.
I have 3 tabs (inputs)
Tab1 (Dept A-NAME) (RANGE B4:I7)
SL NO ID Date Customer Start Time End Time Trucks Supervisor
1 A 2/25/2014 Customer 1 10 1 3 ABC
[Code] .....
Tab 2 (Dept B-NAME) (RANGE B4:I11)
SL NO ID Date Customer Start Time End Time Trucks Supervisor
1 B 2/25/2014 Customer 3 10 1 3 RTY
[Code] .......
Tab 3 (Dept C-NAME) (RANGE B4:I7)
Is it possible to run vba code to get below result in new tab
SL NO ID Date Customer Start Time End Time Trucks Supervisor Result
1 A 2/25/2014 Customer 1 10 1 3 ABC Dept A
[Code] ......
Condition here is date 2/25/2014, is possible when running code message box pops up to ask date, when we give conditional date it extracts those dates.
I have a range of weekly data that I need to copy into another workbook, paste it below the data that already exists there and then delete the data from the original workbook. I would love to do this with vba but after hours of searching on how to do this my brain is frazzled.
I have 50 workbooks that I need to import weekly into one master sheet (Master.xlsm) but they need to be done individually after the weekly data has been checked. The master sheet will therefore have existing data and the new data needs to be appended at the bottom. Also column A will be blank in both workbooks so to find the last used row it will need to look in column B.
The number of rows in the weekly sheet will also vary rather than be a fixed range so I guess the last used row will also need to be found there too.
The attached file is a cut down version of my working file showing where the data starts on Row 14, I won't need to copy the headings.
I have a summary page that includes the titles for each tab within the excel 2003 workbook. I want to use the names of the tabs in the summary page and create it into a formula to lookup fixed cells within the various tabs. Sorry for not uploading an excel doc but I was at work earlier and the thread did not load for some reason, so I am reposting it.
My main data tab is collecting gallons pumped for a particular piece of equipment. I have a drop down box to populate the piece of equipment and VLookup to identify the unit number associated with the equipment. I would like to create a separate tab for each piece of equipment that will track the number of gallons pumped during the calendar year. Here is the format for the main tab:
DateBeginning Meter ReadEnding Meter Read GallonsEquipment IDEquipment Description
1/2/2014565443565625 18212006 ford f250 1/10/2014565625565675 5022006 Chevy 2500 1/11/2014565675565750 754Ford Taurus 1/12/2014565750565830 8012006 ford f250 1/13/2014565830565900 7012006 ford f250 1/14/2014565900566000 10012006 ford f250 1/15/2014566000566125 12512006 ford f250 1/16/2014566125566215 9012006 ford f250
The formula I used in Cell A4 is =INDEX(Gasoline!A4:A23,MATCH(1,Gasoline!F4:F19,FALSE),1)
Cells A4 and B4 have the correct values. My problem comes in A5,A6 and B5,B6. These should not have a result because they are different pieces of equipment. Throughout the year, each piece of equipment is going be used on the main tab. How do I keep the individual tabs from picking up the same entry multiple times.
How to get updated data from connected 3 XL workbooks.(files)
1= ODBC connection ( This brings data from a Basis Query) it will updated 1 or max 2 times a day.
2= Manuel input ( It will update after inserting new data, many times a day) Password protected
3= This One is my master file which brings data in 2 different sheets from above mentioned files. Password protected
My problem is started when i want to see latest updates from file 1 & 2 in my Master file then i have to re-open my Master file, Is it any option which fulfill my requirement that i will keep my main file update just by clicking <save> & I will not re-open file at all times ?
I can't have a shared file. & my all these 3 files are in the same folder.
simple Formula used to bring results are =[Book1]Sheet1!$A1
I have many excel file and I will need to gather all the data of those multiple excel into 1 single excel as per condition.
But the data that I want to get from all the excel that contains data are the same. All the excel file are in a folder, so it will loop the excel file in that folder chosen by the user.
Example: Excel 1:
I need to get the cell range: RIGHT(Range("B9"),7) and paste into A1 of the master excel.
Then scan on the column D till last row, and copy the data from last row of D to B1 of the master excel.
Then scan on the column AA till last row and copy the data from the last row of AA to C1 of the master excel.
Then loop for the next excel file and do the same but add the information to master excel in row 2 and on.
I wish to be able to get data from several workbooks (.xls), and gather all the data in one master workbook.
As I said, I've got a number of workbooks with data I wish to copy and merge into one master worksheet. Each workbook contains a sheet called "MILESTONES" (project) in which I want to pick up data. The data ranges from A5:J88, but I think this can be expanded by the users (more rows). There is no guarantee that the users will enter data in all the columns. Columns A and B occur frequently blank, so the users usually starts entering in information in column C (heading = description).
The Master workbook contains of exactly the same headings, except that the columns has been expanded by 1. Column A1 has the heading "Workpack" which is the name of the workbook the information has been gathered from (description is in column D1). This name can be found in a sheet called "REPORT" in all of the workbooks, and I want this to be copied over, row by row so it matches the data. I don't know if it can cause any trouble, but the names are merged through C to J in row 12 in all of the workbooks.
The workbooks (or workpacks) and the master workbook (summary) are placed in the same folder. Let's say C:Project. The workbooks also changes names frequently (each month). Lastly, if there is a way to automatically update the master workbook every time it is opened.
I have spent many hours trying to research and create a code to enable me to create a master workbook with very little success
I have attached the "master workbook"!!!
I have a file C:workjobs
In this folder I have many workbooks all named differently normally with the customers name and a description of work completed ie: Mrs Jones, Bathroom refit, etc and the file is updated with new workbooks all the time as we complete new jobs
I need create a macro that automatically starts when the masterfile is opened that grabs all the information needed from all the individual workbooks and then inputs the totals into the cells in the masterworkbook so I can then analyse the information
The master workbook I have attached is exactly the same layout as the individual workbooks
i just want a macro to run over 4 sheets and combine onto one. I found this code -
Sub masterer()
if sheets(1).name "Master" Then Sheets.Add before:=Sheets(1) ActiveSheet.Name = "Master" end if For i = 2 To Worksheets.Count Sheets(i).Columns("A:G").Copy Cells(1, (i - 2) * 7 + 1).Select ActiveSheet.Paste Next
End Sub This places all data in a line in row 1. Can the code be easily changed so it puts each line from each worksheet onto a new row. So i have one big list of data ranging from columns A:G
transfer data from several sheets to a master data sheet. The problem I am having now is there are couple blank cells. My code just ignore the blank cells on the master data sheet and paste next to the last cell with content. For example I attached a test excel. with my code. I want to leave the blank cell as it is to keep the same product in one row. below is my code.
VB: Sub Copypaste() ' ' Macro8 Macro For Each ws In Worksheets
I have a master data sheet with raw data in 19 columns and a variable amount of rows per week, but usually 50k+
The data contains entries from different Countries, and this I need to split up per country into different sheets.
Naming the different sheets with Country code like US, DK, UK, PL, etc...
Below code does that almost perfectly.
Only thing is that when there is no more data to split up, it creates the last sheet called "SheetXX" and since it can't name the sheet "nothing", I just get an error - Run-time error 1004 Method 'Name' of object'_worksheet' failed with the possibility to END or DEBUG. When going into DEBUG this line is highlighted. (wsNew.Name = c.Value)
I can just hit END and then proceed running my remaining macros, but I would prefer it not giving me an error in the first place. (My end goal is that all my macros (10ea) are run by the click of one button, and that is currently not possible, when this gives me an error).
I have tried the "Application.DisplayAlerts = False" without any luck, and also "On Error resume Next", maybe I have used it incorrectly. Do I have to search for a different way to split the data..??
VB: Sub Split_data_pr_Country() Dim ws1 As Worksheet Dim wsNew As Worksheet Dim rng As Range Dim r As Integer Dim c As Range Set ws1 = sheets("Template")
I am trying to get specific data from several worksheets and put it into a master list. My biggest problem is the the primary sheets are constantly updated and would need to extract some data fromt the master list for these updates.
What I have now is working fine, but I have to duplicate some of the data whenever I add a new sheet.
Can this be done using formulas or do I have to learn some VBA or use of macros?
I have Sheet1 with point numbers in column A; X, Y, and Z coordinates in columns B, C, and D. Other sheets are the same format for different jobs! I would like to be able to have all points in the master list and accessable from all sheets when the jobs overlap and same data is requested.
