Returns A True Value For Cells With A Month Value Of September
Jun 2, 2009
The function below only returns a true value for cells with a month value of September, but not those with December, March or June. Each cell in Row 1 contains a month. A1 = 9/1/2009. B= 10/1/2009 and so on.
In my current worksheet, IF(0 = "CS") returns TRUE, but on any other file this same argument returns FALSE. The cells' formats are both general. I want it to be FALSE.
I've been asked to adjust some thing with a worksheet someone else created. On the sheet labeled "Criteria" there is a list of dates and some formulas that use these dates. I can't figure out why the result of the formula is a number, i.e "0"; I thought it is supposed to return "TRUE" or "FALSE". If I insert a new sheet, within the same workbook, and insert the same formula, I get "TRUE" or "FALSE". For some reason, the "Criteria" worksheet doesn't return "TRUE" or "FALSE", it returns numbers. I just need to know why this is happening so I can replicate it in the new workbook I'm creating.
I have a worksheet called "Raw Data" where in columns J, I and G contain values. I would like to write a formula whereby if all 3 conditions are met, it will count the number of values found in column C.
I've tried to write an IF statement but it just returns FALSE, despite the result being true. Need the right combination of IF/AND statements that would do this?
=IF(AND('Raw Data'!$J:$J="Maintenance",'Raw Data'!$I:$I="Open",'Raw Data'!$G:$G="1-2008"),COUNT('Raw Data'!$C:$C)). I've tried to attach the workbook, but there's a problem with uploading attachments I think. Sorry if my explanation is unclear.
In the first, C3, the full date is entered in format dd/mmm/yy. In the second, C5, the month is entered in full, say "November".
I want in C7, to have a formula that tells me when the month part of C3 is the same as either the month in C5, or any of the other quarter ends starting from that month.
So for example, if November is in C5, then my four months would be November, February, May, and August. If the month part of C3 (=MONTH(C3)) is equal to any of these months. I want to have to enter only one of the four months though!
I've got a formula that has numerous nested IF statement and am trying to get the true result to be the first of a given month of the current year. Here's my formula:
Everything works, save that the cell becomes 1/1 with no year at all. I've messed around a bit with TEXT and various DATE/MONTH/YEAR functions on this one, but can't seem to get it correct.
I am trying to allow the Command Button when clicked to go through multiple conditions before making a decision. So, when someone clicks on Command Button 3 the code should look to see if CheckBox1 is true, then it should check today's date, and if it is between a range of days, or even months, then it would add the number in TextBox1 with the amount already in cell H18. This event will happen every time someone clicks on the Command Button.
The end result is to have several sheets (4 total) for each quarter in the fiscal year, and if the dates are within those parameters, the clicking of the command button will update the correct sheet.
I have a worksheet where I have around 300 rows, each with 7 columns. What I want to do is add a checkbox to each column. I plan on setting non-applicable checkboxes to mixed status and locking the worksheet. I will unlock applicable checkboxes and sumif or countif their value according to row-based scoring, for example, each checked checkbox represents a value of 3. I do not know VBA and have chose to use the form control checkboxes rather than ActiveX.
I believe that a formula for this would be something like: =SUMIF(B1:B3,True,"3") or =COUNTIF($B$1:$B$3,True)*3
I am wondering firstly if I have that right and secondly if there is a way to stop my checkboxes from displaying labels. Currently, if I click on one it displays True behind the active checkbox. If I uncheck it, it displays False.
I've got a mega excel sheet right now with multiple people making updates to it on a daily basis. As such I am trying to find a way to output various totals in a separate static table which i can grab at any point and be confident numbers are correct.
The problem, firstly I cant figure out how to have multiple true false formulas checking the sheet from 1 cell. i.e "Check column B True/False for RestrauntNameXYZ + Check column E for true/false GroupABC + check column G for true/false Lunch"
and then
Calculate sum of column A for all rows which above combinations of true/false checks spit out.
I have a column that says either TRUE or FALSE this is dependent on what number i input into another cell, so if i input 8, TRUE shows on every 8th row,
I want the cells that say TRUE to also have a sequential number next to it in the column beside it.
Formula i have: =MOD(ROW(S2)-1,nth_No.)=0
So for example, every 3rd row is TRUE, i am wanting a sequential number beside it:
Is there a way to link to cells so that one cell is populated with the others value if a checkbox is set to true?
In other words if the checkbox isnt selected the two cells would be as normal. If checkbox is checked, I want to enter data in one cell and have it show up in the other. I cannot use formulas as I use spin buttons on these cells as well.
I can get it to work with a worksheet change event but that is proving to be more buggy than anything I have ever seen. The worksheet change event is set to one cell but it the code executes if any cell is changed. This has happened before so Id rather not use the worksheet change event if possible.
I'm trying to assist is working with sensitive data, and for security reasons I am unable to post the Excel sheet here. Here goes:
The user is working with a sheet in which uses checkboxes, and wants to assign values from cells in the same row as the checkbox to corresponding cells in the sheet (not a different book) if the box is checked.
I guess I should just ask what the best way to accomplish this is? I was thinking I need to do an IF test (do checkboxes return TRUE/FALSE?) and then assign values from the cells I need to corresponding cells in the next sheet. The big question for me using this method: how can I use a single IF statement to assign multiple cell values?
For some reason it is returning #VALUE! in some cells. I think its something to do with the last part of the formula where it is bold.
The formula as you can see looks at data and matches relevant data to return specific depending on what has been matched. Now at the end it is matching the correct data and return that value however i want to divide the value by another (another value*4.33).
I have a nice case to prepare and need weekly riskfree interest returns on the UK treasury bond. Right now I have daily returns and want to convert them into weekly. The problem is, weeks do not always contain five trading days. How can I turn my data into weekly average riskfree interest returns?

My requirement is compare two cells a1 & a2 if found true highlight a2,compare a2 & a3 if found same highlight a3 or compare a3 and a4 and repeat the same for the entire sheet.
I'm trying to do a comparison amongst several cells and returning a 1 if true. if D25 is blank or does not equal Yes, Mixed or SP3, and if both F25 and G25 are blank, the output the value 1. First try:
=IF(AND(D21="",D21<>"Mixed",F21="",G21=""),1,"") - This seems to ignore the Mixed and outputs a 1 even if D21=Mixed.
Second try:
=IF(AND(OR(D25<>"Yes",D25<>"Mixed",D25<>"SP3"),F25="",G25=""),1,"") - same as above, if D25=Mixed then value of the cell is 1.
It brought up my own thread, I didn't realise it untill today, but the answer I been using uses conditional formating to highlight the lowest cells in each row. And as Sicarii pointed out earlier today you can't select a cell my color with conditional formating turned on. can I highlight some other way or can I select cells to copy some diffrent way. This is the VBA I use to select the lowest price.
Sub FIND_LOW_PRICE() Range("a1:H6").Select Selection.FormatConditions.Delete Selection.FormatConditions.Add Type:=xlExpression, _ Formula1:="=and(a1=min($a1:$H1),not(isblank(a1)))" Selection.FormatConditions(1).Interior.ColorIndex = 6 End Sub
And this is the code that Sicarii supplied and correctly warned me will not work with conditional formating.
Sub COPY_BASED_ON_COLOR() Dim RngCol As Range Dim lLoop As Long With Sheets("Sheet1") Set RngCol = .Range("A1", .Cells(Rows.Count, 1).End(xlUp)) End With For lLoop = RngCol.Rows.Count To 1 Step -1 If Range("B" & lLoop).Interior.ColorIndex = 6 Then Sheets("Sheet2").Range("B" & lLoop) = Sheets("Sheet1").Range("B" & lLoop)........................
I am using MS Excel 2010 want what to change a number of cells if a value is true e.g.
Row one has the headings Prz, Stat, Val, andPts Row two has the following values :- (Prz) a2 =2, (Stat) b2=1, (Val) c2=$30, (Pts) d2=10 How do I do the following in Excel :- IF B2=1 THEN A2+1 AND C2+30 AND D2+5 so that the above cells are changed to (Prz) a2 =3, (Val) c2=$30, (Pts) d2=10
i have a list of 100 product codes in row b2:cw2, colum A contains dates in the month, yesterdays first and then each previous day before that going down, and the columns B:CW are the number of each particular product sold on that day.
I'd like to insert a formula in row 1 which will look down each column and count the number of blank cells from B3 to the first cell to contain a value, i.e. the number of days since this particular product was sold.
I have a formula counting non blank cells in another sheet 'Mem' I know there are 21 entries in Column M, which it used to show as the result. Today it shows 0. The 21 entries are still there.
Code: =COUNTA(Mem!$M:M)
The cell containing the formula is B6. The bottom bar of Excel has: Ready Circular:B6
I have a worksheet containing square carriage return symbols (see below).
EXAMPLES Eg1. Baked[]Beans on []Toast Eg2. Smoked[][]Salmon in Brine Eg3. Ice[][][] Cream [][]Cosmopolitan Eg4. Mixed[]Nuts[][]per kilo[][][][] Eg5. [][]Baby Shampoo[]Fragrance Free
This data was extracted from an SQL Database and dumped into Excel.
I would like to know if someone can suggest a script to replace all occurrences of [] with a space.
Once I perform this, I can then perform a Search/Replace function as follows:
Replace 4 spaces with 1 Space Replace 3 spaces with 1 Space Replace 2 spaces with 1 Space
Hopefully then, the final result will appear as follows:
Eg1. Baked Beans on Toast Eg2. Smoked Salmon in Brine Eg3. Ice Cream Cosmopolitan Eg4. Mixed Nuts per kilo Eg5. Baby Shampoo Fragrance Free
Eg5. is a little tricky because a space will appear at the beginning of the cell (see above). It would be good if there's a script to remove occurrences of this also.
