i have a list of 100 product codes in row b2:cw2, colum A contains dates in the month, yesterdays first and then each previous day before that going down, and the columns B:CW are the number of each particular product sold on that day.
I'd like to insert a formula in row 1 which will look down each column and count the number of blank cells from B3 to the first cell to contain a value, i.e. the number of days since this particular product was sold.
I'm trying to develop a new daily timesheet for my production workers, where non-production items are recorded in 15 minute intervals. The user would put in "Clock in" by the corresponding time, and the same for "Clock out" at the end of the day. Any non-production items will be type in next to their appropriate time. Since clock in and clock out times will vary, I need to set up a formula that searches the array of cells for the day, finds the "Clock in" and "Clock out" values, and counts any blank cells in between them. Basically the blank cells will equal production time, and the result of the Count function will be multiplied by 0.25 to get the hours.
I am having a very difficult time finding a way to set the "Clock in" and "Clock out" cells as the range for the Count function, because it won't always be the same cells. What would be the best way to automatically have excel find the cells containing these values and set them as the range criteria for a Count function?
The formula at the bottom was one of my initial attempts, but it didn't work. I took out the '=' for the screenshot, so that wasn't the problem.
I have a formula counting non blank cells in another sheet 'Mem' I know there are 21 entries in Column M, which it used to show as the result. Today it shows 0. The 21 entries are still there.
Code: =COUNTA(Mem!$M:M)
The cell containing the formula is B6. The bottom bar of Excel has: Ready Circular:B6
However, is there a way that I can get Vlookup not to return N/A when I have a blank cell on the report (not in the data table). I want to be able to calculate the progressive grade average of a stduent as the year progrsses.
I have a code that opens another workbook and looks at some cells and then returns the values. The problem is F20 in the opening document has a countif and gives the value but when it comes back into the main file it has the formula and not the value.
I have 4 combo boxes with selectable options and several cells for inputting data into. I'm looking to create a reset button that returns combo box values back to the first one in the list and clears all cells at the same time. I've figured out the cell reset as follows;
I have a similar question regarding coloring of empty cells between two cells with specific numbers as posted in below thread : [URL] .....
This is exactly what I want. But here I have some problem with formula.
=COUNTIF(A1:Z1,1)=1
Above formula could pick cell value 1 and color the empty cells in a row between the cells having value=1. But if I want to use the same formatting for other numbers like 2 or 3 it doesn't work.
For example in row(A1:Z1) I have A1=1, D1=1, and F1=2, K1=2, and O1=3, U1=3
I required multiple conditional formatting that could color the cells based on values first from A to D then from F to K and finally from O to U.
I'm using above formatting it works with cells having values 1 but its not working for 2, 3 or any other cells values.
I have already tried replacing 1 in above formula with 2 and 3 but it doesn't work.
I'm using SQL to retrieve a bunch of data from another Excel file. However, SQL only returns numbers, leaving text records with blanks (""). This only occurs in one column, which has numbers and alphanumeric values.
I have a formula that references another worksheet. Using the VLOOKUP function, it works great, except if the data on the other worksheet has a blank cell, it then returns a 0 (zero). Within the formula below, cell E10 is my "unique key" and is the only raw data within this spreadsheet. All other cells are strictly formulas. This formula I am using below works perfectly if there is complete data, but that is not always the case. =IF($E10="","",IF($E10="~ None ~","",VLOOKUP($E10,Projects!$F$3:$T$226,5,FALSE)))
I have an excel file and what i want is to sum two different columns to a third one, however there are some important notes:
1. Column A has dates
2. Column B has numbers f.e. 25, 30, 35 etc. , which have to be added to dates of column 1 , so a new date will be created in the new column
3. Colums A and B are not next to each other.
4. Some cells of column A and column B are blank , actually columns are sth like this
A B C 5/2/2014 25 blank blank 8/5/2014 35 10/9/2014 30 blank blank
When a date value occurs in a cell of column A , then always a number will occur in column B
When a cell is blank is column A , then the respective cell of column B will also be blank
What i want is to add values of column A and B to create column C automatically ( each column has 1000 cells ) , however in case of blank cells , i want a blank cell in column C, not something like #####
Apart from this , i want in the future , when i expand column A and B , when values are entered there, i want column C to be created automatically.
creating this code or fomatting in my excel file. I want to fill color in cells between the two cells that has value of say "1" or anything in it. There will be only 2 numbers at any time in any row that has the value in it. All other cells will have value of "0" or can be changed to empty cells. So, the formula should check from say range "A3 to Z3" in row and for example it gets the first numbered cell in C3 then it start filling color from C3 cell until it reaches the other cell in that range that has the number in it. Say the row "A3 to Z3" has 1 number in C3 and other in cell H3 then it should fill color between this two cells from C3,D3,E3,F3,G3 and H3.
The following formula: =IF(ISNA(VLOOKUP(C11,$D$139:$E$149,2,FALSE)),"",VLOOKUP(C11,$D$139:$E$149,2,FALSE)) (located in cell D11) looks in cell C11 Baseball Players Shirt Numbers then looks in the range $D$139:$E$149 to find the Players Name and place the Players Name in cell D11, but in this case cell D11 is blank. The table ($D$139:$E$149) is laid-out as follows; no headers, Players Names are in column 1 (Column D) and Baseball Players Shirt Numbers are in column 2 (Column E). The Baseball Players Shirt Numbers are formatted General in both the table and in cell C11. I can't figure out why cell D11 returns a blsnk answer?
Try this formula. Array formulas will have curly brackets {} emcompassing the ENTIRE formula. You do not add these, you Enter the formula with Ctrl+Shift+Enter and Excel will add them (details: Array formulas). Many more Excel Formulas
Some of the cells end up with nothing in them. Columns E and H are the differenced of C & D and G & F respectfully. The problem is that some of the cells in E and H state #VALUE! because there isn't any data in the other columns (C2 is blank, D2 is 24, E2 is #VALUE!). If I update C2 with 0 then I receive the correct answer in E2 of -24.
I want to have a macro auto fill all blank cells (even though there is the formula in them there isn't data) with a "0". I am using the below code and it is Compile error: Type mismatch at the "True" part of the code.
Sub FindEmptyCellAutoFill() Dim rFound As Range
With ActiveSheet.Range("C:D", "F:G") Do Set rFound = . Find(What:=" ", LookIn:=xlValues) If rFound Is True Then AutoFillValue "0" If rFound Is False Then Exit Do Loop End With
I've written a sumproduct formula, which does what I want it to do; but it returns a zero in false condition, instead of a blank. I've tried several things, but don't seem to be progressing very far. Here's the formula that I ended up with.
If the value in T14 is in the lookup range, I get the expected value returned. If the value exceeds the vlaues in the lookup range (e.g. I enter "E"), I get the last value in the range (4). How do I get it to return a blank cell if the entry in T14 is not found?
I am trying to use =COUNTA(A25:A500) to retrieve the number of non blank cells. Only problem I am having is that the cells that are blank are also using a formula to gather its data. The cell would be blank but the formula is still there, so using =COUNTA(A25:A500) returns all these cells with the formula also.
I am having trouble trying to figure out how to insert blank cells:
I need to insert cells, in columns B through H, equal to the number of returned IDs in column B.
Please take a look at the spreadsheet I attached.
Here is the code I am using to separate the IDs in column B so that I get one ID in each A cell. When I do this it separates them great, but then I have to manually go in and insert cells down so that the rest of the rows match up with the right ID.
Sub Macro1() Dim fromCol As String Dim toCol As String Dim fromRow As String Dim toRow As String
I need to count the number of non blank cells in a column and add a text string to the result to show, for example, "75 Clubs" as the result. I have tried "=Count(A1:A90) + Clubs" but this does not work.
s/s is 325501 rows deep. Down one column are values but these are seperated by blank cells. I need to omit the blank cells so that all the values appear together, but keep them in the same formation (not sorted).
I have a column which contains unique values and also blank cells between them. These blank cells are associated with the cells having value below them. e.g.
Suppose these above are 14 cells (A1:A14); I want to merge preceding set of blank cells with the values below them.... in this example I want to merge A2,A3,A4,A5 with value in A6...
Likewise A10,A11 merge with A12 to show value in A12.

I want to show in tab total view the advices for problems which come from a questionnaire. This questionnaire applies to its advices on the basis of given questions of the user. In the advice tab you can see the advice given for each question. Because I have shown in the advice tab in column B if the advice need be in the tab total overview, if this is not the case there is nothing visible there (empty cel). In column C indicated by 1 if the text should be to the overview tab and a 0 if the specified text should not be taken to the tab overview. How can I get in the overview tab only the text from column B which have in column C the value 1 (without the empty cels)? Even when the data in tab advice changes i want that the information in the tab overview also changes.
A1:A1600 contain either random values or blank cells. Each time there is a blank, I would like a fresh count placed next to the blank cell in B which counts the populated rows between each blank.
My problem is that I have no idea how to set my count back to zero each time I hit a blank and continue down my column. There is no consistancy between blanks so I need the flexability. Example A B 1 14 2 998 2 3 4 3 5 8 6 22 3 7
