I am looking for some code that would copy lines of data if the following to criteria are meet into anouther workbook caller YTD at the bottom of the data to provide a YTD summary.
If column h if marked "y" and todays date ( currently have a =Now() ) is 7 days or more thaen copy and paste to new workbook removing it from the current sheet.
Copy data from workbook, open existing workbook, select range and paste. But my copied data is lost.

My question is I have one excel book called level1.xls and another excel book level2.xls, now in level1.xls I have a row of fields filled in and in level2.xls I have a blank form which for example I would like to try programme in VBA from the level2.xls file to click a button and open automatically level1.xls then grab field "A2" value from level1.xls and place it in level2.xls field "L4" then continue using level1.xls "B2" to level2.xls in field "C3" and then continue down when I add more values A3, A4 so on in level1.xls to the same field in level2.xls L4.

I'm using excel 2003. I would like to select and copy rows of data within a worksheet of a workbook and then paste those rows into a newly created excel workbook. That is the easy part. The complication is that I would like the macro to select the rows based on a particular string value that will be impossible to specify in a fixed way (i.e., it will change from project to project). Let's say the variable that distinguishes the rows is location, so some are from Tokyo, some New York, and some from Paris. Using vba, how can one 'splice' the data into (in this case, three) seperate workbooks based on the string/values of another variable?
I am familiar with auto-filter, but in this case, I really do need to create seperate workbooks, rather than apply calculations to a selection of the data.
I have a macro that automatically takes data from one sheet, copies it and pastes it on another sheet, but I want it to select the empty column that is to the right of the last column to contain data (so basically the next empty column). What code would I enter into editting my macro to be able to do this please?
Also, one thing I've tried to do with my macro is that when I select the data, it's suppose to select from the first name to the last. When doing the actions for the macro, I use "Ctrl + Shift + Down Arrow Key" to make the selection select the bottom of the list. However, when running the macro, if the list is longer (or shorter), the macro selects that number of cells instead of the action of just going to the bottom of the list. For example, if during the actions of the macro, I recorded using the Ctrl + Shift + Down Arrow Key that 50 cells were selected...next time if I have 60 cells, only 50 are selected, even though I used an action command which should select all the cells in that group (in this case being 60). Is there some code I can add to that so this would work correctly?

I have two workbooks. I am copying cells data from one workbook A to workbook B with macro - pretty easy. Now, after selecting and copying cell data in workbook A and switching to workbook B I want to be able to pause the macro and wait for the user to chose a correct cell where he/she wants to paste the data. After the selection the macro would automatically paste the data in selected cell. Since I am completely newbie any help would be appreciated. Here is the macro I have so far :

* FYI... sheet (home) has a VBA code which on running creates a new sheet and pull data from some other source (So the sheet number is not fixed in the workbook, but the newly added sheet is named in a specific format as Data1, Data2, Data3, ...)
* So we can say, that the sheet number and name are not fixed (It keeps on changing)
* All these sheets have data in the same format starting from range A2:J2, except sheet(home)
Two things i am trying to do:-
- Select sheets from the workbook (to be consolidated)
- Consolidate selected sheets in a new sheet

I have a time card report which will record the time spent on work for each employee. Each month, i have to generate the time card report and copy the data to my master file. Is there any code that can auto copy the time card entry directly to the master file? I only need some of the entry on the time card report, some of the column can be ignored.
I was thinking of creating a macro that will prompt me to choose the file to import as there are different file for different individual. Attach here with the master list (Demo.xls) & the time card for one individual (Nov-KTTHAM.xls) for reference.
I want to copy the data on column B of the time card to the column A of the master list, column C to column B, column D to column C, column E to column D, column F to column E and column G to column G.
By referring to the attached file, I have to copy all the datas which have a value only ( total=0 is ignored) in the Bin_Trip worksheet(highlight in image1 below), then all this data will be paste to other new workbook. All this job is done by clicking the start button and after user enter the directory(image2 below).
The last result consist of the workbook with the pasted datas from Bin_Trip worksheet.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI use an excel time sheet for my employees and I am wanting to use a command button to copy data in a cell from worksheet1 to worksheet2. The cell that will be copied from worksheet1 will always be "S14". I want to copy that data to another worksheet and have it paste the data in the correct cell. The code needs to find the employees name in worksheet2 and paste the data in the next blank cell. Currently the command button I have works perfectly but I have to use the specific range, I would rather have the code seek out the employees name on worksheet2 so that I don't have to worry about specific row/column ranges. Is it possible? I'm sure it is. I have attached what worksheet2 looks like.
Rather than having to use .Range("A4:AA4") I would prefer to have the code find the employees name.

I had to copy data from child woekbooks (*.xls) and paste it to the master workbook with same page to page every time when a macro is executed i had done the copy and paste part
But I'm Facing the problem in which i had to deal with
Validations as on both master and child sheet validation (column based combo box is activated )
one is worktype
2ns is time type
i jst had to copy data to the master macro works perfectly fine but the problem is that a msg box appears which signifies that i had to change the name (version ) for both types when i click yes 2 times it pastes the data

I get 'x' number of workbooks(with one sheet only) everyweek from which I need to copy data and paste to a master worksheet. (SCREEN CAPTURE BELOW)
I am unable to write the code myself as I have never worked on VBA and am only a beginner.
Part I:
The data I need to copy starts from the 19th row (A19:H19). The end point is determined by the row just before the row that has the words "Calibration Request" in it.
Part II:
Just below the data that was pasted from Part I, the data from 2 rows below the words "Calibration Request" needs to be pasted. The end point for this would be a blank row encounter.
Also some of the rows and columns are merged.
I have a macro code which gets the file list from a folder i specify and puts it in to an excel sheet as a column. I have then made a drop down list from this so the user can select the file they want.
From this file i wish to copy the data on a sheet that i specify. For example the sheet "dump" from file FR7_19.11.2009.xls (which will be a closed workbook) and paste its content in to the sheet "dump" in Summary.xls
I have a macro which opens up the closed workbook FR7_19.11.2009.xls and copies the sheet "dump" and then creates a new sheet of the same name and content in my current workbook (Summary.xls). However when i wish to select a different file to load in to Summary.xls "dump" the formulas i have been calculating information from this sheet all come up with #!Ref errors. I know this is because the macro i use deletes the old dump sheet before re adding a new one containing new data.
I am therefore looking for a macro which will simply just copy and paste the data from any file i select in to a sheet named "dump" as the data is always set out the same in every file but the values are different. I assume this will then mean that any formulas i use relating to this "dump" sheet in Summary.xls will work because the sheet is no longer being deleted and re-added the data within it has just simply been copied over.
I have a filtered worksheet -WB1 (filtered by Column "B"). I want to count the number of cells or rows in column "B"(Only the filtered ones) of WB1. Copy out that exact number of cells from another workbook(WB2) from the bottom moving up(Column "A") and paste it into WB1 column "I".
WB1 - Count Filtered Cell/Row with reference to Column "B"
WB2 - copy Cell count bottom to top of Column "A"

I am using code to filter my 4 sheets Greater then 0 (zero)
After apply above filter now i need to copy multiple rows and paste on another specific workbook for paste i m using below code:
for 1st sheet with the name ("V2")
for 2nd sheet with the name("LV")

If I play above code one by one all is going very well,,,,,,or if use in this way all is going very well
But here is a big problem..........if any sheet have no value greater then 0(zero)....then code paste all data... e.g shssts("LV") .Range("C5:C54").Copy but C5:C54 have no data greater then 0(zero) and it will paste on another sheet c5:c54 and again new sheets data will paste below the c54 while c5:c54 have no data.
So I want if any sheet have no data with range is greater then 0(Zero) then skip the copy paste code or use like SpecialCells(xlCellTypeVisible) .
I need to create a data base from figures extract everyday. I would like according the date to copy the figures in the sheet "Extractor" to paste in the column corresponding to the day of today in the sheet "Database". If possible as well, the figures of the dates before today must be delete (in the color tab)
I join a sample of what I have. I tried with the indirect function, but didn't find how to keep the figures of the previous dates.

I have 2 worksheets in this workbook. I want to select the range A2:K3 (or better yet, the first 2 data rows); the first row 1 contains column headers.
Then copy those two rows.
Next, select everything else in the worksheet and then Paste Special>Formats
Then select cell A1 (just to give the active cell a place to rest) and then do the same to the second worksheet.

how does one go about finding a specific valuein a worksheet, then selecting the value in the next column, then pasting the value in a different worksheet?
For example, I want to find a particular person's name in a worksheet, upon finding the name, I want to select the number associated with the person which is in the column to the left of the name. I then want to copy and paste the number in a different worksheet.
Feedback.xls is the file I want to have my macro run in. By pushing a button to run the macro, it will prompt the user to select where their file is on their computer. This file will have different file names based on the end user. For example sake, I've included CAP.xls.
After the user selects their file, it will prompt them to choose which tab to copy and paste data from. Typically, there will be 30+ tabs on their worksheet. For example sake, I've created 5 tabs on CAP.xls. The tabs in their workbook will be labeled as I have labeled mine, M1 CAP, M2 CAP & M3 CAP. Therefore, it should prompt the user to select which tab to choose from.
After the user selects their tab (M1 CAP, M2 CAP, M3 CAP), the macro should prompt the user to choose which row of information to copy. In CAP.xls, I have a few rows of information to choose from. I am trying to achieve something like this :
Find a specific text in my column B (example : "Proposal ID"), when "Proposal ID" is found, select this cell and offset to the column C (Offset(0, 1)). Then copy this cell value in another sheet.
This will be repeated with different texts (always in the column B), so if the text is not found, I need the macro to continue running.
