Table That Updates Automatically With The Name Highest Score

I want to create a table that updates automatically with the name & highest score top.

I.E. currently I have :-

Dates starting in A4,
names B2 : K2,
scores B4 : K4,

Not too fussed about having the date in the results table but i'd like something like :-

Scott 4 points,

Geoff 7 points

Tony 2 points,

I would like a table to automatically sort a table (preferably on sheet 2) so it looks like :-

Geoff 7
Scott 4
Tony 2

Is this possible ?, I only have 6 rows of data so far so it can be re-arranged if needs be and data will be added each week.

Assign Score To Value By Looking Up Criteria In Table?

I'm trying to find a way to return a value (score) based on the results in a table. I've been trying to use index and matches but am starting to think this will not be the answer for this one.

In the example attached, I have a section called report. For each project, there are criterias which need to be scored based on the values in the lookup table.

For example, project 1 has a result of 200 for criteria 1. On the lookup table 200 in criteria 1 would receive a score of 2. This result is then populated in column L as the score of this criteria.

Score Ranking Table Sorting

So, I have a table of scores from players for a category I have. It looks like this:

Place-------------Name-------------Country-------------Score
1st---------------Jim----------------USA--------------------376
2nd--------------Michael-----------Germany-------------364
2nd--------------Tim---------------USA-----------------364
4th---------------John--------------Norway-------------355

if one of the guys, for example, John were to improve his score to a 369, I'd change the score in Excel, then use the sort feature to put him above Michael and Tim. Only problem is, it would say his place is still 4th place, and it doesn't change to 2nd place.

I want it so the "Place" column automatically changes to the correct rank based on the score the person has. So if I changed John's 355 score to 369 and hit sort by A-Z, Excel would automatically change the "Place" he's in appropriately so it would look like this:

1st---------------Jim----------------USA--------------------376

Find The Score In Worksheet

Should be an easy fix for experts, but I'm not one of those...

I'm trying to create a "scoresheet" in Excel where a racer has a name and an ID number on the main tally worksheet, with columns relating to their scores for each race. Subsequent worksheets have results from each race (one race per sheet), with the individual referenced by their ID number.

How do I have the main tally sheet "find" that person's score for each event in separate columns so that it can add up their totals? I tried an IF formula to find each score in the subsequent sheets, but that didn't work.

Is there a simple formula to do this? I've been achieving the results by importing the worksheets into a Filemaker database (where the ID number "matches" and updates each score), but that's a pain, and I'd rather do it all in Excel.

i have three sheets in this workbook. i want to filter the the pupils with less than 20 marks in total at the end and copy it to the page named filter, from which i will go to the sheet1 which gives a remedial plan for ONLY those pupils who come in the filter page. this is all good but the problem is that when i update the Cont page, it wont update in the filter page.

1) Converts it to its negative equivalent value.

Automatically Run Macro On Formula Result Obtained From Pivot Table

I currently have an excel file set up which is refreshing imported data every minute from a server. This data is located on " sheet 1".

This data is the result of another system constantly monitoring (pulling data from) the process at my factory. It consists of temperatures, speeds and other settings.

When a temperature, speed or setting changes then it will be captured by the monitoring system and therefore my excel sheet will load it into the imported data within the next minute.

I would like to be able to capture the change in temperature, for example, if it goes into alarm and automatically send an email reporting this alarm. This alarm is captured in my imported data in a specific column with a 1. If it is out of alarm it is 0. There will not be a report of an item, at any one time, with both a 0 or 1... so there is only one case of any one monitored process.

I have a pivot table set up to filter all the uneeded data out and I currently refresh it manually to show the current status of all alarms. If an alarm occurs on the process, I can refresh my pivot table and it will be indicated with a 1 until it is refreshed again (and the alarm is gone).

So the question:

1. How can I refresh the pivot table automatically every x seconds?
2. How can I automatically send an email on the value change from 0 to 1 in case of an alarm?

'Last Months Data' column should show Dec. However, as we move into February and I complete the 'Jan' column, I would like 'Last Months Data' to automatically change to show Jan's data - is this possible?

I was previously told to use the following formula but this would automatically select the current months data and not the previous months data which is what i need - =INDEX(B2:L2,MONTH(TODAY()))

If / Then Formula: Makes A Character That Has A Score Of 9 For One Of His Attributes?

I'm helping out a community that puts out a role playing game by making a character sheet for their gaming system. It's normally a pen-and-paper type affair, but a few people have reached out to me and asked me to make it. Now, one thing that I really thought would be nifty would be to make it persistent. I know of the Excel basics, creating basic formulas and the such, but this is where I hit a brick wall.

For the character sheet, they normally have basic attributes on a 1-20 scale. These attributes are accomanied by a bonus. The only thing is those, while these bonuses go across a linear path (For attribute 1, it's -30, for 2 its -20, for 3 its -10, for 4 its -5 for 5 its 0....), I cant seem to figure out how to create some kind of If/Then formula for it....

Heres my example:

Brad makes a character that has a score of 9 for one of his attributes. The bonus given to someone with a 9 is a +10. What I'm looking to do is create a table that sees that 'If (c9)=9, Then (d9)=+10'...

And my second related issue...

Is there any possible way to do the above mentioned formula in relation to a drop down selection bar? It's the same thing here; To break it down simply, It would be excellent if there was a way for it to say If (a10)=Warrior, then (c10)= +10.

Converting Score Sheet To LOOKUP Formula?

I have a paper-based scoring sheet that we use to determine a rating category. I cannot figure out how to convert this scoring sheet into a lookup region and use some type of LOOKUP formula to determine the rating. I have looked at the various Grading examples on the Internet that show you how to look up a grade, based on a score, but they only look up a grade, based on a single input (the score).

Here I have two values going in--the person's age and their score, and I need to look up the rating, which is the column heading.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I've attached a sample spreadsheet which shows the original scoring sheet.

Formula For 2 Low Net & 1 Low Gross Score In A 5 Man Golf Team

I am using Excel 2002 in Xp and also want to use the spreadsheet on my Pocket PC using Pocket Excel.

I have a column of 10 numbers with rows 1,3,5,7 & 9 representing the individual gross scores of the 5 team members. Rows 2,4,6,8 & 10 have either a 0 or -1 (calculated) in them representing the strokes (or discount) the player receives for that hole. So the net scores for each player will be row 1 + row 2 and so on.

I need a formula that will calculate the total of the 2 lowest net scores and 1 low gross score with the score for each player only being used once which will then represent the team score for that hole.

A sample column would have 4,0,3,0,4,0,3,0,5,-1 in it.

Formula / Conditional Format To Award Score From 0 To 4 Depending On Cell Value

I want to create a system based on the value of a cell appearing as a grade in the adjacent cell. The cell could contain any value from -10 to +10.

the criteria would be

value greater than +2 = 3
value between 0 and +2 = 2
value between -2 and zero =1
value below -2 =0

I can get a formula to work for a single instance but not multiple conditions.

Array Formula To Lookup Two Values And Produce A Total Score

I have a table of data where each row is a person, and each column is a group that person might belong to. In the intersecting cell of a person row and group column is text showing what position they hold in that group (eg Director, Head, member etc). In many cases the cell is empty because the person is not involved with the group.

There are then two lookup tables which have scores; one for the group name and one for the position type. The group name is always the column header. I have used these lookup tables as I would like the scores for each group or position to be easily adjustable.

Probably best that I just attach an example. I tried to solve this using SUMPRODUCT. VLOOKUP on the two lookup tables would have been good but it seems it doesn't work with arrays the way I expected. My attempt (which doesn't work obviously!) is given.

I am starting within a workbook with a standard invoice/form. During the course of a month this invoice will be copied 20 to 30 times within the workbook and the amounts changed each time. Is there a way that I can:

a) Have amounts from 2 of the cells (say E30 and E31) within each new invoice worksheet automatically included on a summary page? These cells are calculated by formula.

b) (This one would be nice but is not essential) Have each new invoice worksheet that is added (by copying) automatically numbered sequentially in a cell (say A2) and also re-named with this number. The first existing invoice would be manually numbered and each additional invoice would follow from there.

I have data that was taken hourly for a whole year. It is in three columns as shown below:

What I want to do it is put the data in a table as shown below:

Such that the hour is in the first column and the values for each date is in individual columns. How can I populate the table easily using formula? For the first date column I can just reference the first 24 cells. But how can I create a formula for the second date that I can use to copy over for the third date, the fourth date, and so on? So for 8/13/2009 0:00 I can put into the cell =C2 For 8/14/2009 0:00 I want to put something in that automatically advances 24 cells down the value column and that I can copy and paste into the remaining date columns of the second table to populate it automatically. It seems like this should be easy but I can't figure it out.

I've been learnig VB applying it to automating some excel workbooks. What I'd like to know is if there's an equivalent funtion in VB to the IN function in Pascal. The In function in Pascal used to work like this:

If I used the KeyPress (Function in Pascal), I could evaluate which key was pressed and compare it to an array of options. For Example:

Length Equivalent For Numbers

When I tried len(nYear) where nYear is a number like 2006, I don't get the number of characters in the number. I know that's confusing strings with numbers, but...

Is there a VBA function that returns the number of numbers deep in an integer; ex. if nYear = 2006, the function would return 4?

I could easily do a < or > line of code, but I'm just curious if there's another way to do it.
