Automatically Copy & Append Range To Another Sheet Based On Number Entered
Mar 15, 2008
I need help with creating a macro that runs when a user enters a value in the 'Numbers' column, copies and pastes data in the corresponding worksheet 'Worksheet' column by the value of 'Numbers' column data. An excel file is attached.
I have a question about my Excel template: I have a workbook with 3 existing sheets in this order: DATA, Fronpage, Summary. In the Frontpage I have a clickable button to create a new sheet with name as Report1, Report2, etc. at each click. What I wanted is that when I click the button to output a Report sheet, say Report1, I want it also dynamically to copy and paste a range , for example r2c1 : r5c6 from the new report sheet to the Summary sheet. The pasted results from each Report in the Summary sheet should not be replaced, instead, should be appended separated by two rows. The Summary table is like a log file that keep track of certain rows of the report sheets. Could anyone give me a hand
I'm trying to copy data from one sheet to another sheet automatically based on a number selected in a drop down control.
I have used OFFSET to pull some information successfully from a list. This is easy for me to do with single entries and a list and has worked well. I want to do similar but with a dataset not just single cells.
But, I can't seem to make OFFSET work to show a set of data easily.
Perhaps I will need VB code to do so? Or there is another control I'm not aware of? I've done very little with VB.
I'll attach a sample file to try to show better what I'm trying to do.
I have a spreadsheet that is used to store statistical information on a monthly basis, some of this information may be incomplete and so will need to be acted upon month by month, What I need to do using VBA is: At the close of the spreadsheet check sheet1 and if there is any data (text) in cells N – Q on any line If there is move to sheet3 check for the next blank line then paste the data from only certain fields i.e. A,B, N-Q,R,S
Here is another problem
As the sheet will be used on and off during the month I don’t want data that is already been moved across to sheet3 to be copied again so there needs to be someway of checking if the info is already there? I have code now for the find last cell part of the problem.
Sub FindLastCell() Dim LastCell As Range With ActiveSheet Set LastCell = .Cells(.Rows.Count, "A").End(xlUp) If IsEmpty(LastCell) Then 'do nothing Else Set LastCell = LastCell.Offset(1, 0) End If End With LastCell.Select End Sub
sheet 2 will be the entry form sheet 3 the database
I would like to copy the values in cells B1:B4 and D4:D5 in sheet2 and paste them transposed it sheet 3 in the next empty row starting in cell A#, so basically is to copy from sheet 2 and append the data in sheet 3 every time that I press the entry data button, that will allow me to populate the database from a separate sheet
I am trying to create a tracking spreadsheet in which modules need to move through certain phases. I have tabs for all appropriate phases. I would like to be able to select from a pull-down the current phase and have the spreadsheet automatically populate the appropriate tab. Ideally, I would like to be able to edit the process in any of the phases and have it backfill as well (ie if the status changes while in phase 3, I don't have to go back to phase 1 to change it, I can edit it in the phase 3 tab and phase 1 will automatically update).
Additionally, I would like it to calculate this constantly not just when the spreadsheet opens.
I have achieved this partially with formulas but I am finding that it is extremely slow and also doens't always update correctly. I also can't get the circular referencing to work so I don't have full capability using the formulas.
I have several rows worth of tasks with several columns associated with each one of them. In other words, each task will have some event, comment, date etc. and a flag at the end if it's complete or not. Below is a very simplified idea.
A B C D
1 Event Date Done
2 Party 12/10/2013 Yes
3 Marathon 12/20/2013 Yes
4 Graduation 01/15/2013 No
Formulas that I have used so far have accomplished everything I need except one thing. I would like to copy rows to a different sheet (tab) based on the flag condition i.e. if the string says "Yes" (in this example), I would like to copy that row to a different sheet and do that for each row. In the example above, rows 2 and 3 would be copied to a different sheet creating a list/summary of complete events. As that is copied, I would use that information again on that new sheet to do more things.
I want to take values from several worksheets within one workbook and put them into a list ie.. a workbook with 200 worksheets each one a different invoice. Each invoice has an invoice number, po number, supplier, and total. I want to create a worksheet that will list the above information from each worksheet.
I have Worksheet 1, with columns A to E. I would like a row to be copied to Worksheet 2, as soon as cell F in Worksheet 1 is populated. Also the row to be deleted from Worksheet 1.
So, as soon as F1 in worksheet 1 is populated and enter button pressed, row A1:F1 will be copied to the next empty row in worksheet 2, while being deleted from worksheet 1. So eventually all rows in worksheet 1 will be deleted and rows in worksheet 2 will be populated.
I need to make a VBA Macro (Assigned to a button) that will copy the information under the "Cut Length Worksheet" and paste it into the appropriate columns in our "Bill Of Materials Template." Any way to copy the cells, across different rows, into the proper cells.
I have several different Macros and Workbooks made up now, but I am lost here.
I also need the Cut Lengths to add certain info to the cell when it is copied:
a macro button on my excel sheet that should do the following.
i have a range (Ex: E3:E46) which is being continuously filled, i need to transfer the information to another sheet depending on column "E", (Ex: if "E3" = "A" paste row to sheet2 if = "B" paste row to sheet3) and so on each row could have another string in column "E".
after the paste is done it should clear the range making place for new entries, that should also be copied finding the next empty cell (it shouldn't delete the old entries)
Please see attached sample worksheet. Column A will be generated by the user manually.
I'm looking for a way in VBA to have A1:D20 in Sheet2 copied and pasted in the "Bank Reconciliation" Sheet based on how many "Markets" there are in Column A. Then, once that's complete to have A22:D30 (the smaller box in Sheet2) copied and pasted directly below those results.
I have what the macro would hopefully generate to the right in "Bank Reconciliation" (B6:E54) as an example. So if there's a market in A1, copy and paste the box to B6. If there's a market in A2, copy and paste the box directly below the first (B26) etc. etc. until it's done, then paste the smaller box directly below whatever the macro generates.
This spreadsheet must perform calculations for every line since new items are added every day, so VBA is probably better than copying formulas down every line of the spreadsheet:
With the press of a button, I need to be able to select a range of dates and copy all lines within the range to a seperate sheet with the desired name under the same headings they currently reside under. I have included some modified code that is being used in another spreadsheet that was created for me, but I do not pretent to understand all of it and I no longer work with the creator of the spreadsheet. How do I use a button to open the form for date selections and entering the name of the new sheet, and then use the start button on the form to begin the matching and copying to a new sheet? If there is an easier way I am all for that too.
Also, I need to keep a total of all items by month as well as a monthly and annual average of the Total Item Value on the FY09 tab. This will eventually produce another sheet when a button is pressed to submit as a report. I think part of this answer is in using the MONTH(serial_number) function but I can only get this to work for a single cell. I need to search the entire Distribution 'D' column, match all the months to the FY09 tab to the respective month, and calculate the totals and averages. I think SUMIF may also be needed as well but need the MONTH(serial_number)to work first. If there is a way to code all of this in VBA that would be fine as well.
I have a pivot table on Sheet1 where I am trying to get the totals and averages described above but I am not sure it can do what I need. In column 'B' I need the total number of each item as well as the total number of all items. I tried various formats and adding the totals from the Totals tab but I have not figured it out.
I have a workbook with a hidden sheet ("Template") and a visible sheet("New Job"). I need code so when cell F1 in "New Job" is populated:
1-the sheet is renamed to the value of F1, 2-a new tab is made (a carbon copy of the hidden sheet "Template") 3-the new tab is named "New Tab" and marked as unhidden.
Public Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) ActiveSheet.Name = Range("F1").Value End Sub
Function WorksheetExists(SheetName As String, _ Optional WhichBook As Workbook) As Boolean Dim WB As Workbook Set WB = IIf(WhichBook Is Nothing, ThisWorkbook, WhichBook) On Error Resume Next WorksheetExists = CBool(Len(WB.Worksheets(SheetName).Name) > 0) End Function..................
how I can get this thing work. I am trying to create a model/code that copies old sheet and create a new sheet and paste the copied old sheet into the new sheet automatically each month. For instance, if my current sheet is February tab, I wish to create a model/code that copies February month's tab and paste it onto a new sheet, for month of March, at the end of the month.
I have a basic formula =C17+'Asset Depreciation 2008 Onwards'!C24, and I want to copy it down just using the drag function. Problem is that the second reference range of cells are in rows and hence when I copy it down it doesn’t automatically update the cell references because it want to update them by column number instead of row number. IE I want it to display =C17+'Asset Depreciation 2008 Onwards'! D24, instead of C25. Do you know if there is any way of telling Excel that I want it to increase the column number by 1 every time, instead of the row number for this part of the formula?
I have worksheets named 1 to 100. In a different worksheet "Summary" I have a summary of data of those worksheets. I want to change the worksheet number automatically in a row by dragging. For example, in worksheet "Summary" ....
I am creating a spreadsheet for inventory use. I want to have a running total in (1) cell based upon a new/different number being entered into a different cell.
Column B, Row 1 (This will be a new/different number entered every day - inventory in or out, so positive or negative number)
Column D, Row 1 (This will be a running total based on numbers inserted in previous 2 columns)
Basically what I have is a key inventory. So there is column A with key number, B should be keys IN, C should be keys OUT, or ideally B would be IN and OUT meaning, for inventory IN input a positive number and for inventory OUT input a negative number, and D Should be total.
Column E represents number of keys currently in the inventory. I was going to hide the current inventory column so all you see is IN/OUT and total.
So what I need is to be able to just come in and type in a number in the IN and/or OUT column, without having to add/subtract it with the number already in that column.
Bottom line, I'd like to be able to use IN and/or OUT columns to just type in numbers as they come and not have to worry about what's already in those columns and get correct total number.
Ok here it is. Attached worksheet shows Column A - Key Numbers...No data value Column B - Inventory IN Column C - Inventory OUT Column D - Total Column E - Current Inventory(Starting point)
So the formula I used to get what i currently have is (=B2-C2+E2). This way whatever i input in columns C and C. totals out in D. But this way every time I want to add/subtract a number in B and C, i have to add to the number already in the column. I'd like to be able to type in a number in B and C as i go and still have a correct total. I wouldn't mind having just one column for in/out and use positive and negative numbers to differentiate inventory in or out.
How to automatically copy a row of data from one sheet to another, only if a specific cell contains specific data. It would have to populate on one sheet but read from multiple sheets in the same workbook.
I.E. if tab 213 has "SOP" in column F, I would like to copy the data from that row and insert it into the SOP tab.
how to create a copy of my employee attendance template. Is there a way to create a copy of the template by entering an employee name in the "name" cell of the template and it automatically renames the sheet that employee name and also saves or recopies the template for use with the next employee?
I have a workbook with 8 tabs and one master tab. The 8 tabs are where the user enters information and the master sheet contains all employees from the 8 tabs. All tabs, including the master, have the same columns in the same order. How can I automatically have the information populate to the master tab as information is changed on the tab groups? I had a vlookup on the master sheet going through all of the sheets however it slowed my report down tremendously and caused too much lag.
If I setup a spreadsheet for others to use and I want them to enter their own numbers in certain cells... BUT... restrict those numbers to be from, say 0 to 50... what is the formula or how is it done? In this example I do not want to allow negative numbers or numbers > 50.
