Count Of Cells Where Occurrence Of Some Specific Text Is Found

I have a spreadsheet that lists all the work done by employees within a specific area. Some employees cover multiple areas.
I am now needing to work out the average work completed by each area. I need a formula that will count the number of employees by each work area.
I know this is something I have done before, but my mind has gone blank and I can't for the life of me work it out again (it's one of those days).
Row 3 of the spreadsheet contains the codes for the work areas they cover (CM, V & TC) and some employees only cover one (which would be a simple CountIf) but some have multiple.
What is the formula to, for example, count the number of people who have CM in row 3 even if they also have other entries in that cell.

I have a file that the user selects and when they enter a value (in this case, a job title) into the input box, my macro looks for the value in that file. If the value is there, a msgbox pops up that lets the user know that the value was found and it then goes to that cell, displaying in the next msgbox the cell address of where the value was found. I already have the code down for this part of the macro.
My problem is what happens if the file has the same value more than once. Ideally, I'd like to display a message box that returns the addresses of both cells with the same value and then prompts the user to select one of these values as the value they are looking for. I am not sure if a msgbox or a msgbox and then an input box are most appropriate for this situation. Once the user does this, the macro continues. The rest of my macro is built on the cell where this value is, so it is crucial that I make sure there is at least one value selected. Any help is much appreciated. I have included a sample worksheet of what this situation might look like.

CELLS AA5:AA64 will have either EF, CS, SBS and/or, RP. Cell AA16 could be "EF / CS / SBS" and AA20 could be CS. I want Cell AA65 to count show how many CS's have been entered in that range. How would I do this.

In an employee attendance file I am trying to count the number of times an employee has taken 3 or more days of leave together (continuously) in a month. My attendance file looks something like this
sat
sun
mon
tue
wed
thus
fri
[Code] ..........
In the example above E001 has taken 3 continuous days leave twice so formula should return 2, for E002 & E003 the answer would be 1 each.

I have a spreadsheet where i would like to 'count' the number of cells with a particular colour AND SPECIFIC text (not 'any text').
I attach a xls with the initials of the person in column A, their colour as seen in cells in next four columns with the particular text in each cell. Therefore, for 'ABC1', in the given range, I would like to count how many cells have been allocated with the particular colour (brown, do not know colour index) and the particular text (1 or 2 or 4 or 5) in the range A1:CK39. Haven't supplied the actual sheet for confidentiality reasons.

I am looking for a formula to return the column number of the array when a specific text is found, in this case the text is "Yes"
The Array will only ever be 5 cells beside each other in a row
for example, M4:Q4, will be as follows - No No No Yes No
I want a formula to look at these 5 cells and return the number 4 as that is where the "Yes" value is

I have a simple macro that copies data from worksheet to another. I only want this macro to be run once per day by the user. One of the cells that gets copied is the value found in the formula "=today()". My thought is that the macro could look for the existance of the current date in the pasted data (meaning the macro has already been run once today), and if the date = today, then a message pops up warning the user that the macro has already been run once today, and ask if they're sure they want to continue.
Any easy way to accomplish what I'm attempting to do? The current date gets pasted into a worksheet name "PriorDay" in cell C5.

on one sheet we have a summary of the main list, which includes totals of money recieved, totals of all the different sources (ie, where they heard about us from), the totals of the frequencies they pay (ie, how many donate monthly, quarterly...) ... etc. on the next sheet we have the "main" list of donors, their IDs, amounts, frequency, source ...
the totals on the first sheet are updated manually, but i want to change that as there are a great number of errors.

I am trying to count the number of specific words contained in a specific cell. If my data were static, and the list of keywords was short, there are many solutions such as using multiple instances of the length function as proposed by @shg here.
Suppose I have the following sheet: (column C is what I am trying to achieve)

That is, C2 will tell that B2 contained 3 of the keywords (1X beautiful, 2X happy) and so on.

I’m trying to figure out how to show the highest occurrence of text in 10 cells which are not next to each other. Some of the cells will also be blank And the other thing is if there is a draw e.g. 5 2Z and 5 1Z I'd like it to show that, either with a word e.g. "DRAW" or anything really other than just putting whichever of the 2 "notes" in it feels like
Attached is a spreadsheet (all other data deleted) that shows what I am wanting to do – I have typed the results I am after directly in to the cells in columns BE & BF – BE will need some kind of countif, but when I try that is says I have too many arguments! I have to leave the columns in between blank in this case as they have other info in them, which is really annoying as if those 10 cells were contiguous then the formula

What I want to do is Average out a range of cells "F4:F343". That's the easy part =average(F4:F343). However I want to exclude any numbers for that average if data in coloumn "Q" = "FMC"
Would that look anything like:
=average(F4:F343)/countif(Q4:Q343, "<>FMC")
I'm also displaying it as minutes in a day so i added *24*60 to the end of the formula and formatted to Number/.00. I've entered the formula and it will calculate but when i enter FMC to the appropriate area the average wont change.

I have 2 sheets with a formula in sheet 2 looking to pick up information from sheet 1. the formula in sheet 2 is:
=HLOOKUP(C8,'Cost-Effort'!$B$7:$AH$42,26, FALSE)
But C8 appears in W7 and X7 in sheet 1 and will only pick up the first Occurrence and I need it to pick up the second Occurrence for this specific task.

What is the easiest way to find the last occurrence of a value in a table using functions. I want to avoid VB if at all possible and note the row number and use it in an index function to report text adjacent to that last occurrence. I would normally use match but match only records the first match and not the last.

I have attached an excel sheet and I want to count and report frequencies the amount of X that are occurring from the 'CSR1' book in a table in the 'Frequency' book.
The CSR1 book has 4 sections and I need to formula to adjust the total percentage accordingly if only 1, 2, 3 or 4 sections have been populated with data.

I have to calculate bonus payments for people working O/S. I have a 5 year calendar in month blocks (60 months/columns). In each month there is a percentage 'time O/S' figure.
If an employee is O/S for 3 consecutive months they get bonus 'A', 6 consective months bonus 'B', etc. How can I evaluate the 60 columns, returning the number of times 100% occurs in 3 consecutive months/columns. I have found examples of similar solutions but they will return a value of 3 if there are 5 consecutive months of 100%...
ie. 100 100 100 100 100
= 100 100 100 *** ***
& *** 100 100 100 ***
& *** *** 100 100 100
= 3
but I need it to equal 1

In one column, i get the ID. In the next column of the same row i get the status. My question is to find the number of occurrence of a specific ID with a specific status on another sheet. Attached worksheet sheet "count" has the source with ID at column C and status at column D. My expected result is in another sheet "expected result". I think a macro is needed, but i can't really figured out the way to do this counting.

I'm trying to create a calendar overview of transactions from a raw data list. the result should be an amount, based on the number of occurrences of a specific transaction type at a particular date. Thus, the counter shall be based on two conditions. I've tried COUNTIF, INDEX, MATCH and VLOOKUP combined but I don't seem to "go all the way".

I have a list of names (300 now but growing every month by 100-200). In the row with the name contains data I need to view: date, $, #, etc...
I want to quickly see whos name appears the most, 2nd most, 3rd most, etc.....(at the end of the year I will have 2000+ names, most names will only be listed 1x, I suspect nobodies name will be listed more than 60x.)
I also need the ability to view the relative data of the person's name that is listed most, 2nd most, etc....

Here is the formula I am currently using:
=SUMPRODUCT((Sheet1!B19:E15235="Contact Sheet Available/Disc Sent")*(MONTH(Sheet1!H19:H15235)=MONTH(TODAY())))
This counts all entries with the status "Contact Sheet Available/Disc Sent" and that have a timestamp within the current month.
I need to alter this to count the last week in September and the first 3 weeks in october (using this month as an example and will have to have to be able to run without changing dates next month).
