the closest appears to be the number of Fridays in a particular month.
What I need to calculate is the number of Saturdays in each year from 2013 through to 2022 (by year), and the same thing for number of Sundays. I presume that it will be 52, however if a year starts on a Sunday and it is a leap year then there could well be 53.
I tried =SUMPRODUCT(--(WEEKDAY(YEAR(C1)=7))) (where C1 has 2013) to try and calculate the number of Saturdays in 2013, but it didn't work.
1000 Susan Y Y Y Y Y CountA(B6:B12) 899 Ted Y 1560 John Y Y 1000 Susan Y Y etc.
I need to be able to total the number of Y for a given person in a week as well as a total for the person over 4 weeks. CountA works for the week But what formula would I need to count for a specific person over 4 weeks. Col A is in random order. If the person has no Y the answer needs to be blank and not N/A.
I am looking for a formula with the following conditions:The fiscal year of the business runs from December 30, 2007 to January 03, 2009
There are 13 periods in the fiscal year ending with different date ranges. For example, period 01 runs between December 30, 2007 to January 26, 2008 There may be 3 capital projects completed in Period 01, 5 in period 02, 6 in period 03 and so on
Task: count the total number of projects from period 01 to Period 13 with the period end date restrictions for the fiscal year. The formula should be able to count the no of projects for each period individually.
Column AH2:AH367 represents the current year and contains values from Jan 1 to Dec 31 inclusive, some of which are zero and future values are blank. Column AG2:AG367 represents last year and contains the same and all cells have a value (some are zero).
The date column is A2:A367 (the columns in between are all the years prior to 2013).
I need a formula that counts the total number of cells with a value greater than zero for the range AG2:AG367 up to and including today's date to be returned in cell A1 of Sheet 1.
My Problem is I have a workbook with multiple sheets with a possibility of a number between 2 and 999 occurring. I am looking for a formula that can display a table on the "total" worksheet for every ID number that has been entered and the number of times the ID number is displayed.
How do I enter a formula in excel 2010 that will give the total amount of times each number is in this group. Example : how many times (total) the number 12 showed up , how many times the number 27 showed, and so on for each number that is in the entire group of numbers, from 1 to 80 .
Here is the page I will copy and paste into a workbook sheet from the internet that i want to evaluate the times each number was called.
Very new to all this , I am a bit aged and need not to learn excel A to Z, just need to know what correct statements /formulas have to be entered to do what i desire.
I am only interested in the total count of the small bold numbers 1 to 80, each single digit 1 to 9 and double digits 10 to 80 will be in their separate cells. The large bold three digit numbers and dates/times will have to be erased (manually) before the calculation takes place.
I've got general ledger information that I export out of my accounting software (see attached spreadsheet). From there, in another spreadsheet I do vlookup formulas to get information from this general ledger. However, in order for the vlookup formulas to work properly in the other spreadsheets, I have to go through this general ledger spreadsheet and manually enter just the first five numerical digits in column A for each Total row. I would like to be able to find a solution that would return just the first five characters of the category (column B found at the top of each section) into the cell in column A on each total row. I usually have to manually enter 50-100 of these many, many times a month so it gets time consuming after a while. I'm using Excel 2013.
I have several competitors balance sheets (around 15), they all have the same structure, what i will like to do is summarize all this data into a pivot table to have a grand total but also be able to filter the data by single competitor.
I have tried to do multiple consolidation ranges, power pivot, pivot but i was unsuccessful, maybe i arranged the data wrong or im not using the right solution. im using excel 2013
This may not be the best way to do this, but I don't know Macros or Pivot Tables.
I am looking for a way with formulas to do the following: Within a workbook the 1st sheet is the data entry. In another sheet that will total data from the data sheet is where I want to be able to total columns of data, depending on what is entered in one specific column:
Example: Data Sheet, E2:E2999 is a unit number selcted by pull down tab entry. G2:G2999 in the same sheet is where the data is.
Q: What formula would allow to total the data on the Total Sheet depending on what unit number is selected in column E on the Data Sheet and the data amount in column D from Data Sheet?
I'm sure this can be done but I don't think I have the formula correct. What I am trying to do is add each day's total while displaying a positive number if the total exceeds 6000.
number for item detail level from category standpoint. For example, in the category sheet has total number per category and per month and in the item detail sheet has a list of item number with category. I want a formula to recognize which item belongs to which category then use the total number of category by month to multiply with % of total in column D from Item Detail Spreadsheet.
I'm making a Excel 2013 spreadsheet that has formula in a column that auto enters a number 1-40 when something is entered to the left of that cell. There are 300 rows in the spreadsheet. I would like to make a drop down list in a column cell to the right that would delete that number in that cell from the drop down list. For example cell C1 has 39, that 39 then is deleted from the drop down list. C2 has 22 in it, click on the drop down list cell and it shows 1-40 less 39 and 22.
I have been using the wrong formula to count total entries in columns and only just found this error. The MAX formula in cell B4 is: =MAX($B$12:$B$36). If the all the rows are full within range F12:F36, then the MAX formula is fine to count the total within range B12:B36 (25) so I thought. But sometimes there are omissions between F12:F36. If there are 2 blank cells anywhere within F12:F36 for example, then B4 needs to show 23 respectively. In the sample WkBk B4 needs to show 8
My objective is to count the number of "Horizontal-Horizontal" entries in Column D for a specific value in Column C, BUT (and this is where I am lost), taking into consideration only unique values in Column A.
So, for the highlighted red entry in my spreadsheet sample below, there are 2 entries of Horizontal-Horizontal for Column C value A2961. BUT since, Column A entries for A2961 are duplicates, I want to return a value of 1. Hope this makes sense.
This is my formula that is working for the first part of the equation. I need to add something to it to condition the count based on unique values in Column A.
Is it possible to get a unique count in a group subtotal though the elements in the group may not be unique using Pivot Tables w/o resorting to Power Pivot?
Ex
Group 123 Group 456
Are both members of NorthDivision
If someone is in Group 123 for 9 months, then Group 456 for 3 months, that membership should be reflected in the correct group accordingly. However, that person should only be counted once in the NorthDivision, not twice.
Output:
Group 123 0.75 Group 456 0.25 NorthDivision 1
At first glance, it appears easy, however, what if membership is only total 3 months? Then Group would increment 0.25, but I need NorthDivision to increment 1
I need to count the number of unique companies that receive money within a specific QTR. I have made this simple example, I have a Table called Awards, with Headings for DATE, QTR, Company, Awarded, on one worksheet, that I need to feed the data into a summary on another worksheet. What formula using table heading can I use to achieve the answer 3 unique companies for Q1-13.
I have a column with Cells that will sat True or False, the amount of rows will be different every time, I need to work out what the total percentage of True cells compared to the total number of cells. How would this be achieved.
currently I'm working as project manage for a software development studio and I am using MS project for all my work. Since the development team aren't aloud to have a MS project license on their PC I have to copy their tasks from MS project and put them into Excel.
I would say that I am okay using Excel but not an expert. I want to create a formula that uses NETWORKDAYS to determines a finish date from a duration and start date.
The headers I would use for each column are Duration, Start and Finish. So I would like to be able to get a team member to put a duration down i.e 1 day and give me the start day and in the finish date it produces a finish date automatically without including Bank Holidays and Weekends. What would the formula be for that?
I have the same question as Madball and was able to work out the Worday function, however for my company, we work on Saturdays and or Sundays sometimes.
I would like to be able to specify from line to line if Saturday or Sunday needs to be included in the duration calculation resulting in a finish date, however if I can simply get one formula to work that includes Saturdays alone (most common working day of the weekend, and do work more than don't) it would be the most helpful, I think I can get it adjusted from there.
How to add 2 "working days" to a date, including Saturdays as work days, and excluding holidays and Sundays? Similar to: = WORKDAY ("01/02/2008", 2, 39451) But instead of resulting in Mon Jan 7th, the answer should be Sat Jan 5th. (39451 is Fri Jan 4th.)
I can't figure out how to use the custom number formatting to get 20130522A to display as 2013 05 22A. I don't care if it has to be 2013 05 22 A, the extra space is fine.
I have been googling and trying different things and I cant get anything to work. All of the characters can be text, there will always be 4 characters, a space, 2 characters, a space, and the remaining 3 characters. It seems as though it should be so simple to add two spaces into a fixed length string, but I guess not.
I am building a spreadsheet for contractors to use to submit home rehab bids. I am using a Windows 8 and Excel 2013. How to assign a monetary value to a number/quantity.
For example, when the contractor indicates 2 toilets need to be replaced and 1 toilet needs to be repaired, I would like to assign the value of $300 to replace a toilet and $150 to repair. Ultimately, I would like the 2 and the 1 to be automatically totaled to read as $750 in the total line at the bottom of the table.
Our company has a shipping report spreadsheet that has the job number in column A and the ship date in column F. I want to track other things on a separate spreadsheet. So far, we are only down to row 1440 so in order to account for future jobs, my code on the other spreadsheet is:
Also, the jobs are arranged by ship date, not by number order.
This has worked perfectly for months but for some reason, it will no longer recognize job numbers greater than 1331. The format is the same between the working and non-working cell. Is there a max limit for vlookups that I am not aware of? If this was a sudden failure, I could nail it down but there has to be an underlying reason I'm not seeing.
Here is a sample of my spreadsheet: Ship Date 1325 12/27/13 1326 3/10/14 1327 1/4/14 1328 1/31/14 1329 3/3/14 1330 1/22/14 1331 1/15/14 1332 #N/A 1333 #N/A 1334 #N/A 1335 #N/A 1336 #N/A 1337 #N/A 1338 #N/A 1339 #N/A 1340 #N/A
