Extract Left Characters Up Until Specified Text

I am attempting to utilize the Mid, Left, and Right functions to parse out data returned in a single cell. There are twelve months of data returned with the "title" listed after. I would like to be able to FIND the title and return a specific number of characters of data to the LEFT not the right (as Mid seems to do).
EX.
Cell A1{ 1 2 4 5 3 5 TITLE1 1 2 3 6 7 4 5 TITLE2 3 4 5 2 4 5 TITLE 4 }
Cell A2{ 1 2 4 5 3 5 TITLE2 1 2 3 6 7 4 5 TITLE3 3 4 5 2 4 5 TITLE 4 }
I would like to be able to search each cell for the "TitleX" then parse data out to the left of that title (and if not found, return "").
There are too many different Titles to use IF statements and I cannot change that the data comes to the left of the title.

I am trying to write a function that finds and breaks a cell about the first space.
Worksheet is:
=LEFT(name,FIND(" ",name)-1)
Have tried...
Function Firstname(name)
Dim Space As Integer
Set Space = .Find(" ", name)
Firstname = Left(name, Space)
End Function
and also...
Function Firstname(name)
firstname = left(name,find(" ",name)-1))
End Function

I can do this in Excel, but I don't seem to have a single example to hand of how, using VBA, to extract all characters up to but not including, the first space character in a cell.

i use this code to get the value from the cell that contains "Ink"., and i got the codes from reading other problems:
=IF(SEARCH("Ink",a1),LOOKUP(99^99,--("0"&MID(a1,MIN(SEARCH({0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9},a1&"0123456789")),ROW($1:$10000)))),"")+0
like this in a1 -> Ink 253.00
and totally working! but the problem is if the word "ink" in the left of the value --> 253.00 ink and the result is #NA, is there any way that i can get the value whether the word Ink is in the left side or right side of the value?
also bothered why is it if the word is not "ink" in the cell and return -> #value since i put ("") in the last part of If function(value if false)?

This is very similar to my previous post, which was solved. Now that I've extract the numbers, I need to extract the text for the specific work activities, for example 13Z or 9GGG. I'm assuming some variation on this formula:
=LOOKUP(9.99E+307,--MID(C4,MIN(FIND({1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0},C4&1234567890)),ROW(INDIRECT("1:"&LEN(C4)))))
is the solution, but I'm struggling with making the correct alterations.

I need a Excel 2007 formula that will extract a string of text that is seperated by characters.
Example:
in Cell (A1) I have the following

I have a series of alpha numerics items in Cells A1:A999 (i.e AB0001 to AB0999). I need to be able to perform a search the range (A1:A999), and extract items that do not conform to the standard AB prefix. Example, an item of BC0001 could be present in the range. I would need to have that item, either highlighted or displayed in a different column.

I need VBA coding that starts in a cell, moves 5 columns to the left, and then copies the left 8 characters of the string. The Macro should end there, but I'm hoping to be able to then paste those 8 characters elsewhere, say a different programme or web page.
I can move the cell no problem:
ActiveCell.Offset(0, -5).Select
But how to then copy those left 8 characters so it stays in the clipboard at the end of the macro?
The formula needs to be non-cell specific, i.e. I need to use the above selection and NOT a cell name such as A5 etc.

I am using (in Column "B") the formula: =IF(A2=A3."",1), copied down as required, to uniquely identify entries in Column "A". In this instance "10", "10A", "10B" and "10C" located in "A5" through "A11" are viewed as the same. Is it possible to have the formula recognize the enties in "A5:A11" as a unique entry and therfore have "1" entered into cell "B11"? The suffix, if used will always be A thorugh Z.

I've got a long list of account numbers of varying length and ultimately need to add a dash and a dot into these numbers. Here's an example
12345678 to> 1-2345.678
123456789 to> 12-3456.789
1234567890 to> 123-4567.890
The standard format is always 3 numbers after the . and 4 numbers between the - and .
I can get to this by doing a series of functions starting with this:
=LEFT(A1,LEN(A1)-3)&"."&RIGHT(A1,3) to get 12345.678 or 123456.789
copy/pasting that value into another field and then doing this
=LEFT(E1,LEN(E1)-8)&"-"&RIGHT(E1,8) to get the results above
I can't quite figure out the format to combine the multiple steps/functions into one so that I'm not copy/pasting values and re-doing the function.

I have the following formula which doesn't work:
=COUNTIF(LEFT(proposedenter,7),LEFT(F127,7))
proposedenter is just a named range. I can see this is wrong but how do I base the count criteria on the left 7 characters of an item that is matched in the range?

I have a workbook which has data from 2 different time points (6 and 12 months) and this is signified by a prefix to an ID number which is a letter (A or B) and a number:
I need to analyse data separately so I'd like to create 2 separate workbooks, once which imports all of the 6 month data (1 row per case) and one for the 12 month data.
I thought that this would be based around a VLOOKUP of the first 1 or 2 characters but I can't work out how to integrate this with an 'IF' and link it to another workbook.

In column M I have data that lists a number, then number of metres between brackets. For instance

22 (123m)
Basically what I want to do is to always return the number of metres without m, so the data between "(" and "m".
I tried to do this using the find and mid formulas, but I either haven't got it quite right. I'm only after a spreadsheet solution (not VBA).

Data in field A1 currently appears as below.

I want to extract everything to the right of the "/" in a new field.
The formula that I am using is =RIGHT(A1,FIND("/",A1)-1)
For some reason, I am only receiving a 0 in the new field and not the 10 that I expect.
What's odd is that the formula is working as intended on every other field except this one.

I have a column contains Postal Adress in more than 5000 rows. Column contains Door Number, Area, City and Zip code. I need to separate "Zip code" alone in next coulmn. I have a column contains Telephone numbers with or without area code and country code for across the country (India). Column A in Excel has loads of numbers all in this format 971-417. I need to have each of those two numbers in a separate cell from each other(and without the hyphen of course).
Column A Needs to be: Column A Column B

I have a problem that I just dont seem to have the brain power to solve right now. I have a list of websites and I need to extract all characters after the last / in the URL. URL example:.....
I have been using the find function in conjunction with LEN and RIGHT etc but the multiple instances of / is causing headaches for me. Also, the trailing string of characters that I want to extract can be both text or numeric and are of differing lenths.

I have a list of numbers in which I need to return the last 5 digits; the length of the string may vary.
However, if the last two digits of the number ends in a specific value then it should skip over the last two numbers and return the preceding 5 digits.
I have tried and have used the very basic Left, Right and Mid functions. My problem is I dont know how to code the formula to identify the last two digits and skip over them, if necessary.

I'm working with a large list of items of varying length. A sample worksheet is attached. I need to do the following:
1) If the characters after the final forward slash from the right are of the pattern "tttxxx" (where "t" is text and "x" is a number/digit), then return all characters to the right of the final slash, including the slash itself:
Y:/Series/hun/hun109 ----> /hun109
2) if the characters after the final slash from the right are not of the pattern "tttxxx", then return all characters after the second slash from the right, including the slash:
Z:/Series/crd/crd409/editorial ----> /crd409/editorial
3) if there are less than 3 backslashes in the item, return a blank.

Having trouble with this one. Searches seem to bring up every other variation of extracting info from strings except this.
