I have a userform labels role_selection with 5 checkboxes. Each checkbox with the caption labels as follow: Students, Teachers, Below Average, Customer, and Friend.
In addition, a 3 worksheets each labels as follow: Main page, General, and Final.
The General worksheet has the same name as the 5 checkboxes (Students, Teachers, Below Average, Customer, and Friend).
My question is how can i write a program to determine which checkbox is selected and compare the selected checkbox caption to the names that already existed in the general sheet. If the name exists show that name and hide the rest ...
code to write down to make a checkbox hide the text in a few cells..
What I want is..
When I tick the check box I want it to show me the text in the cells (C11:D11 to be specific) and then when I untick it I want it to hide the text so all you can see is the background colour.
Attached is a simple chart and I would like Users to be able to tick a checkbox to show/don't show 'available' series. In the example If the User clicks for Group 1, then only Customer A's data is shown. If Only Checked Group B, then Customer B and C are displayed. If both boxes are checked, then all three Customer's figures will show. (Hopefully depending on what's ticked, the chart's scale would adjust accordingly)
I have a simple macro that I have been using to hide columns in a very large spreadsheet. Essentially, the user has access to buttons that allow him to choose between a variety of the most commonly used views. For some reason, when I add columns and adjust the code to hide/reveal these columns, I get:
"Run-time error '1004' - Unable to set the Hidden property of the range class"
with the Debugger highlighting the code for "BO:DC". This problem occurs for several of the similar buttons, including toggle buttons, that hide/reveal columns. I am aware that custom views can be created in the drop-down menu, but I wanted to keep these buttons on the sheet as a quick means of moving from view to view and toggling columns between hidden and revealed.
I have a couple of functions running in my workbook, and for no reason that I can see, when one of them runs during a simple macro I use to show/hide some columns, the worksheet vanishes. Is there a way to stop all functions running while I show/hide columns?
I have a spreadsheet with four columns of data for every month (i.e. January has a Prior Year, Budget, Outlook, and Actual column). I have been trying to come up with a macro or form that will allow me to customize which columns I would like to see and hide the rest. For example, if I chose to see the Budget and Actual columns, it would hide the Prior Year and Outlook columns for each month.
I have a very large table and i need to be able to Hide/show specific ranges based on:
Filter +and+ specific cell values in columns
brief example of the table : tablee.png
So... 1. Filter Column "B" (in this case we select "HELPING") 2. Auto hide/show collumns. - IF "C1" = "Required" THAN Show "C:E", IF "C1" ="N/A" , HIDE "C:E" and so on for every column like above.
There are over 80 columns like the "C:E" range. and I only need to show those that are "Required".
After scouring the entire OzGrid, I have found the following two macros that partly satisfy what I want to achieve. BTW, following two macros are executed on Sheet2 and I want to achieve the following: On Worksheet_Activate, show columns that match the criteria value in Sheet1.D4 (Sheet1.D4 contains a dropdown list with about 6 text values). In addition to that, if Sheet1.D4 value is blank then show all columns. Right now, it successfully shows columns that match the D4 value but does not work if that D4 value is left blank, instead it hides all columns in range (C:CV). So in short, to the first macro, I need to add the criteria if D4 is blank, then keep the sheet intact and don’t hide anything, just show all columns.Once on that sheet after the Worksheet_Activate event has occurred, with the second macro “ToggleColumnsVisibility” following things need to happen. BTW, currently this macro is assigned to a button (from Forms Toolbar). If cell D4 has a value, then the button’s caption should read “Show All” and when that button is pressed, it should show all columns in the range (C:CV), and the button's caption needs to change to “Show Selected”. In “Show Selected” mode, when that button is pressed, it needs to show all the columns that match the D4 value. If cell D4 is left blank, then the button's caption should read "No Action" and when the button is pressed, it should not do anything but just show all columns.
As you will notice in the header, my experience with Excel is very limited, so detailed instructions will be greatly appreciated. I am also hoping that proposed solution uses some of the efficient/effective ways of using loops such as described below (example taken from this website from this link http://www.ozgrid.com/VBA/SpeedingUpVBACode.htm)
Sub TrueOrFalseFaster() Dim bYesNo As Boolean Dim i As Integer bYesNo = (i = 5) MsgBox bYesNo End Sub
Sub ToggleTrueOrFalseFaster() Dim bYesNo As Boolean bYesNo = Not bYesNo MsgBox bYesNo End Sub .........
Basically I have a big table containing several columns for the different quarters. (Each quarter has several columns which are not all next to each other)
I would like to use 4 checkboxes which the user can select the show or hide the columns for that quarter. E.g. if Q1 and Q3 are checked only those are visible)
(if quarter 1 clicked than all columns are visible if unclicked hidden).
The code I have written workes well for the first checkbox (Q1), but for the other quarters (Q2, Q3 and Q4) the columns get hidden when checked (which should be the other way round) and don't get unhidden when unchecked.
Sub CheckboxQone() If Range("$A$1").Value = True Then Call showQ1 Else: Range("$A$1").Value = False Call hideQ1
How can i hide and unhide one checkbox using another one? Can it be done using IF formula? And also i am using this checkbox to function something else as TRUE/FALSE.
I have a query Work sheet that has the names of my worksheets in the following format.. mmm dd, yyyy H15 has a formula that returns the sheetname as a value. What Id like to have is a checkmark that when checked it will take you to that worksheet. Ive played with it and came up with the following...but its not working...any advise??
Sub SHOW_H15() ' Worksheets("Query").Range("H15").Text .Select End Sub Also id like to have the check mark named as "Would you like to see (h15) 's worksheet?"
One more thing...if a value is in H15 Id like the checkmark box to appear. If nothings in H15 dont show the checkmark Box.
I am trying to have a checkbox that will hide any row between 6 and 300 say IF column P of that row that is empty, or does not contain the letter "Y", whichever is easier. I have found a bunch of different code snippets, but most hide a predetermined row range, and I need this to be dynamic.
If it can also expand the range automatically as I add more rows to the spreadsheet, that would be even better, but not necessarily required.
I would like to have a checkbox that when checked displays a column and when not checked hides the column. the Column to be hidden will be on a page titled "Totals" the checkbox will be on a page called "Roster" the column to be hidden will be "Totals!M"
now for the real problem I am using Excel 2004 for Mac. Which does not have a "control toolbox"
what should i do. I tried to do a macro but all that does is run the macro when the object is clicked regardless of if you are checking or unchecking.
I've had luck with hiding rows with a checkbox, but I cannot get them to unhide when I uncheck the box.
Here's my scenario - (using Excel 2000) In an estimating spreadsheet I have a print range of A1:N74. What I'd like to do is add a checkbox or button so I can hide and unhide rows based on a null or zero in column range b5:b62. This is for printing purposes, but I can't get a 'beforeprint' event to work either. All I need is box checked and cells hide, box unchecked and cells show (unhide).
Sub CheckBox1_Click() Dim Rng As Range Dim MyCell As Range Set Rng = Range("B5:B62") For Each MyCell In Rng If MyCell.Value = "" Then MyCell.EntireRow.Hidden = True End If Next MyCell End Sub
I want the option of printing my form with and without a certain column. I need to hide a column when CheckBox.value=True and unhide a column when CheckBox.value=False
I keep getting errors: Block If without End IF End If without Block If Else without If, when I use an else for the second If statement
Private Sub CheckBox1_Click() Dim DescriptionCell As Range Set DescriptionCell = ActiveSheet.Range("B:B") If CheckBox1.Value = True Then With DescriptionCell .EntireColumn.Hidden = True If CheckBox1.Value = False Then With DescriptionCell .EntireColumn.Hidden = False End With End Sub
I have multiple check box (activex control). When click to first check box second should appear and linked to corresponding cell in column K. I did that manually Is here the way to do tah using more complex
I have a SplashScreen that is activated in the ‘Workbook_Open ‘ Event.
A CheckboxControl on the SplashScreen allows a user to disregard the screen the next time the workbook is opened.
Private Sub Splash_Screen_Activate() If Splash_Screen.ckbx_StopSplashScreen.Value = True Then Splash_Screen.Hide Else If Splash_Screen.ckbx_StopSplashScreen = False Then Splash_Screen.Show End If End If End Sub
Unfortunatley my code is not working. I was hoping for some insight into making this work. Mind you, I’m a cut and paste VBA type of person, but I do understand the concepts enough to work with it.
1.What is the proper method for coding this? 2.Which location would this code be placed – the Form itself or a Module? 3.How and where do you store the CheckBox Value to be used the next time the Workbook is opened?
in my work sheet I need to Hide & Unhide some text box By checking a checkbox it means if user mark the check box the text box will be appear & if uncheck it the text box will be hidden
I would like to keep the current macros that I have and add the following:
A macros that can link the check boxes with the corresponding categories and rows in the other two sheets. If the box is checked the corresponding rows in the other sheets should appear.
I have color matched the check boxes with the rows on the two other sheets I would like to be linked up with.
I received a spreadsheet form containing some checkboxes that I need to tick. The problem is I dont know how can I tick/show the check mark on the checkbox. everytime I double click it, macro vb screen appears.
I need a VBA code that will when used with a Form Control "Check Box" will unhide / hide a row. To be more exact, I'm needind the code to "Hide" row 34 when unchecked and "Unhide" the same row when checked. I'm using Excel 2010.
I need to work with the run times for some equipment. This is just hours and minutes and I get the raw data as like "Pump # 1 - 35:30". This is not date/time data per se, just a raw number of hours. I thought I would format the cells as hh:mm and for 15:00 I would just enter 15 to save time. No go, that becomes 1/15/00 00:00 and displays as 00:00. I discovered that if I just leave the formatting as general and enter 15:00 it works fine and displays right but the formula bar says 3:00 PM (Excel figured to format it hh:mm). When I enter 30:00 it again seems fine but the formula bar says Excel stores it as 1/1/00 6:00:00 AM (Excel figured to format it [h]:mm:ss but I deleted the seconds).
I can just set the formatting as [h]:mm to be consistent and enter the full 15:00 but I guess that after working that out I am just curious - can Excel store hours:minutes as just hours:minutes without turning it into a meaningless date? And without converting it to a decimal number? I don't want to total 1:30 + 1:45 = 3.25; I want the total to be 3:15. Again, it appears that [h]:mm will do what I need but it just seems unelegant to me that it is stored as some weird date and I wonder if it will cause a problem at any point.
I currently have the following Macro for one of my many checkboxes in 2007 Excel:
[Code] .....
It works perfectly until additional rows are added/deleted before the indicated rows in the code (It changes the number sequence in the workbook). The number sequence stays the same in the code which means I am now hiding rows either before (delete rows) or after (insert rows) the intended rows I want to be hidden. Is there a way to change the above code to remain with the assigned rows regardless of the adding/deleting of rows before it?
I have a sheet with a hierarchy of operating units in a column, with DirectX checkboxes next to each (used a VBA script to auto-create the checkboxes ).
The checkboxes go from D5:D147, so 142 checkboxes. They are named checkbox_D5, checkbox_D6 all the way to 147, so checkbox_[Column]&[Row].
Based on a True/False value in another column to the right (BA or column#53), I am hiding specific rows. Just to give a sense, if a checkbox for a Level 2 hierarchy is clicked, I have some formulas to determine which Level 3 rows will be shown by putting a TRUE in column BA. For sake a speed, I created these to only run for 30 rows per click (that's the most that would ever change on a checkbox click).
I did not know how to do it any cleaner, so I created 142 of these:
Code: Private Sub CheckBox_D5_Change() Dim i As Long For i = 5 To i + 30
[Code]....
It works OK up to checkbox_D23 or 24, but excel seems to reduce the number of rows it goes through for each checkbox below that, with checkbox_D31 down doing nothing. I read somewhere about a 32 form item limit, wonder if I'm hitting that.. Cleaner way to do this vs. 142 instances of checkbox_XX_change() events?
I have an excel 2003 sheet that collects data from Infopath forms. The forms are to record students who have broken school rules, when, where, repercussions etc. One column shows their class and there is a separate column for each rule broken.
I want to create another sheet to show each class down the rows and the columns to show each school rule. Therefore, each cell would show the number of each particular rule broken for each particular class. I have tried to do countif and sumproduct (if on sheet 1, column B the class is KA and on sheet 1, column M, the rule is bullying = how many times this has occurred).
