I need to be able to compare Column C to Column A. I need to identify the first instance of a ref number that matches from C to A so that I can delete it. The second instance of this ref number I would like keep. I have tried the following with no luck.

=if(countif($C$2:C38000,A2)>1,"Duplicate","Unique")

Identifying Duplicate Numbers In Same Row In Multiple Columns

Jun 9, 2014

I have unit measures that are converted across four columns (FT, SQFT, SQM and SQY).

THere are three units in rows (BOX, Skid and Roll). I am trying to identify in a column labeled "Duplicate Volume" with a formula stating "YES" if there are duplicate numbers (volumes) in any of the four conversion columns listed above. I tried to attach an excel file here but the system will not accept it. Hopefully the diagram i make below will be enough to understand the concept:

Unit Name FT SQFT SQM SQY Duplicate?

BOX 0 0 15 0
BOX 0 0 20 20 YES
Skid 0 10 10 10 YES
Skid 0 0 0 15
Roll 100 10 2 1.5
Roll 0 0 40 40 YES

I have over 50 thousand rows of this stuff...so looking at the data to decide if there are duplicates will not happen.

Any formula that i can put in the column titled "Duplicate" that can identify the duplicates with a "YES" in the cell where duplicates are found?

Identifying Duplicate Data Between Workbooks

I am looking for the easiest way to find duplicate Work Order numbers that exist in 2 separate Workbooks. EX. Workbook 1 Sheet one contains the numbers 1-100 in A1:A100
Workbook 2 Sheet one contains X amount of the numbers between 1-100 located.

somewhere in A:A. For arguments sake let's assume those numbers are 3,6,33,87,99.
What would the formula be to return the values that are in both of the workbooks?

Identifying Duplicate Values (2nd / 3rd And 4th Occurrence)

Jul 31, 2013

I have a list of "GPC" or company identification numbers. And for every campaign being sent to the company it will have the same GPC of identification code. I want a formula that indicates if it is the first time mailing the company (as a result return nothing for column D ""), the second time mailing them, third, or fourth. So basically I need a formula to find the duplicate values and return whether it is the first, second, third, or fourth time that code appears in column A.

The current formula I have is a little off because it checks against the cell beforehand. I'm not sure how to modify the formula or what different forumla I need. Attached is an example. I am looking at column A and trying to return the data in D. You can also see the faulty formula I currently have in place.

Identifying Duplicate Text Strings In A Column

Sep 17, 2005

with creating this macro to identify duplicate text strings in a column, which is great.

But, I'd like to be able to identify them by changing the text of the subsequent duplicates that are found.

For example, if 3 cells in a column are 1111, I'd like to add a string of text to the end of the 2nd & 3rd cell, but not the 1st cell.
1111
dup-1111
dup-1111-dup

This will enable me to sort the column and find the duplicate easier than just visually.

Sub color_dup()
Dim r As Range, rng As Range, Col As String
Col = "d"
Set rng = Range(Col & ":" & Col)
rng.Interior.ColorIndex = 0
For Each r In Range(Col & "1", Range(Col & "65536").End(xlUp))
If Application.CountIf(rng, r) > 1 Then
r.Interior.ColorIndex = 6
End If
Next
End Sub

Identifying Whether Cell Has Certain Numbers In It

Jun 10, 2013

I want to sort a spreadsheet based on whether any of the numbers '1', '2' or '3' appear in a particular column.

There are 2 particular rows which I care if they have a '1', '2' or '3' in them, let's say row 17 and 18.

I want to create a formula say in row 20 which would tell me if there is a '1', '2' or '3' in the corresponding cells in EITHER (!) row 17 or 18.

An example to clarify:

Cell A17 = 1
Cell A18 = 2

Then Cell A20 would be = 1 because both A17 and A18 have a '1', '2' or '3' .

2nd example:

Cell C17 = 1
Cell C18 = 0

Then Cell C20 would be = 1 because C17 has a '1', '2' or '3' .

3rd example

Cell D17 = 6
Cell D18 = 12

Then Cell D20 would be = "" (Null - no value) because neither D17 nor D18 has a '1', '2' or '3' .

Note: I am looking just for the numbers '1', '2' or '3' not (!) numbers like 11, 12, 13, 21, 22, 23 etc...

Identifying Word Table Numbers

Dec 9, 2013

I have a few hundred word files that I'm porting tables from. I initially imported every table into excel and figured out which table numbers I needed the data from. I only needed certain rows/columns from certain tables.

The code I have works great....if all the word files were the exact same. However, it appears that when different people edited the word documents, for whatever reason, a handful out of the 300 had their tables switched. So in some cases I'm looking for table 5, other times it could be table 6.

My question: Is there a way to identify the tables by text they contain? for example, the table 5/table 6 comment above, in all cases That table has a header cell called "Equipment". Basically I need something like:

"If CurrentTable contains "Equipment" Then set tableNo = CurrentTable" but I'm not sure how to do that.

In the code below wdDoc is a specific word document. tableNo is the variable set to identify which table to import from. I end up pulling data from three different tables that I would need to search for, each with a specific header.

Code:
With wdDoc
tableNo = wdDoc.tables.Count
tableTot = wdDoc.tables.Count
If tableNo = 0 Then
MsgBox "This document contains no tables", _
vbExclamation, "Import Word Table"

[Code] ........

Identifying Missing Numbers And Updating In Single Cell

Jul 9, 2014

As i am working on consolidating the Missing numbers manually, whether will it possible for making this automatic.

In Column "A" I have Multiple Duplicate Invoice Numbers and followed by the Different Transcation numbers in Column "B".

In Column "D" I have Each Invoice Numbers and in Column "E" Total Transaction Numbers i.e., no. of times each Invoice have Transactions.

In Column "F" No. of times we received the Transactions.

Here i need to manually need to update each Invoice's Missing Transaction number in Column "H" in single cell with comma separated to each Missing Transaction numbers.

Example:

Before : (Column "A" & "B")

Invoice NumbersTransaction NumbersInvoice NumbersTotal Transaction NumbersReceived Transaction Numbers
A2014000351501 A201400035150 3 2
A2014000351502 A201400035494 13 12
A2014000354941 A201400035881 12 11
A2014000354942 A201400035884 19 17
A2014000354943 A201400035888 14 13
A2014000354944 A201400037613 5 1
A2014000354945

[Code]...

Instead of doing this manually can we have the VBA to auto Update these missing numbers.

Here by i am attaching sample file.

Row2:5,11,15,16,19,35

Add Numbers Based On Duplicate Codes Only

the first function was this =IF(ISERROR(MATCH(D5;$D6:D$65536;0));"";D5)
the second next to it this =COUNTIF($D:$D;$D5)
and the third: =IF(COUNTIF(D:D;D5)>1;"DUPLICATE";"")

well fine but now I dlike to add the numbers of the 2 cells of those duplicate codes. In some cases I have more than 2 identical bar codes.

RANK Duplicate Numbers Without Missing In Sequence?

Jul 18, 2014

Attempting to do a spreadsheet for my golf club, to record scores, etc...

Managed to get it to pretty much what I want despite some very extreme looking formulae! So for some scores such as 56,56,57,57,54,54, Rank would just give me 3,3,5,5,1,1, so I have put a second column next to 56,56,57,57,54,54 where I input scores to seperate ties (better back nine scores), so in the above I would have for example 30,29 next to the two 56s, 27,29 next to the two 57s, and 27,28 next to the two 54s, so the rank would return 4,3,5,6,1,2. I have gone three stages further, so if, the back nine score was also tied, I have a column for the last 6 hole score, the last 3 hole score and even the last hole score. This is some serious formulae at this point. However, I now want the OPTION to rank the original data as 2,2,3,3,1,1 if I don't put any data in the back nine column.

This is so that I can input doubles scores on the same spreadsheet as singles scores, so if two people shoot the same score in singles I can input the back 9 scores etc to decide who comes out ahead, but in doubles I would just leave the back nine score blank, and then two people would share 1st in the rank, but then I need two 2nd ranks NOT 3rd ranks as it currently is.

Just so you can see how complex it is the current forumlae in the rank is here is an example:

=IF(O7="","",IF(K$2="MEDAL",RANK(O7,O$7:O$255,1)
+SUMPRODUCT(--(O7=O$7:O$255),--(P7>P$7:P$255))
+SUMPRODUCT(--(O7=O$7:O$255),--(P7=P$7:P$255),--(Q7>Q$7:Q$255))

[Code] .....

There are other things in there to sort out a few other issues as well, but I cant see the wood for the trees so to speak, to get it todo what I want!

I have also attached a sample from my spreadsheet to better demonstrate what I want!

Highlight Duplicate Reference Numbers In Column A

Works great for 1 or 2 duplicates but if there are many it becomes quite difficult to keep track. I'd like keep the code as is but add highlighting to the identified cells.

Excel 2010 :: Finding Duplicate Numbers?

Jun 15, 2014

Using Office 2010.

I am trying to find duplicate numbers in sets but so far I can only highlight the ones that are in exact order. I need to find each set that has the same numbers, in any order. Example..

I will provide an example of sets of 3. But I get 3, 4 usually but sometimes 5 or 6.

I get them from different people.

Person A- 234, 569, 498, 849, 848,343,567,347 etc...

Person B- 432, 596, 677, 566, 565,433, 455 etc..

Now I need to find each set that has the same numbers, any order. Like 234 from A and 432 from B would be the same, so I would need to highlight them 2 sets. But I can not figure out how to do this. For Excel to highlight it they have to be 234 and 234. Does not recognize same numbers, different order.
