i have stores numbers in column a and the sets and cartons in column b but there is gaps between the data i want in column c a list of stores with the set and car displayed next to it, some information in column b is on 2 rows for 1 store please see attached, how i would like to see it on a row is b345 car011119 etc

I'm currently having a hard time creating a formula to verify if the contents of 2 cells match.
Example from Spreadsheet -
Column C: MATCH / NOT MATCH
Column D, Row 4: MSG
Column E, Row 4: SMSG
When I attempt to create a formula for Column C, it registers the "MSG" within "SMSG" and lists the result as "MATCH".
I have a sheet with some survey data. the data covers about 4 months. There are about 2200 rows and 8 columns.
The "code" could be in there more than once as the person took the survey multipule times, but all other data is different. How can i pull out the whole row when the code is there more than once.
I want to know all the "codes" with multipule entries that took the survey more than once then trend there scores.

in writing a macro that does the following.
Right there data in cell A1 lets say LTP BY001 and then the next data in column A is LTP BY002 in cell A9. What I need to do is copy LTP BY001 from cell a2-A8 and then LTP BY002 From A10 until LTP BY003 appears lets say A15. Therefore need LTP BY002 copying from A11-A14. I need that to go right the way down the workbook at everytime their is a number change.
Having a bit of trouble trying to get excel to pick up text in one sheet (sheet 2) and populate cells in another (sheet 1) if the row (row 1) labels and columns (column a) in both sheets match. hope that makes sense? I've tried googling this to no avail, i've also tried index-match however i keep getting errors.

In column 3, the part sold can be listed several times with a different number sold in the column 3. What I need is code to go through the part numbers and return a total number sold for that part in a new column. I have sorted the table by part number, then by Column 1 which is for the date. The new total should go in the last column with the oldest date for that part.

I don't know VBA so hopefully there's a way of doing this with a basic Excel function.
I am trying to find a solution for highlighting cells in a column that are repeats, ie. >3. I also need these cells to only be highlighted if the adjacent cell in the next column contains specific text. I have tried using conditional formatting with a countifs formula to no avail.

For example I need it to add all the cells for "John S" found within column "C" and then total it at the bottom with a code JSSS (John S straight shop time) or JSOS (John S overtime shop) as per my example. View 3 Replies View RelatedPlease see the attached sheet. I have columns B through a lot (B through O in my oversimplified example). In every 7th row in each of these columns there is either a 1 or a blank/zero. I need to multiply that 7th number by the Quantity in column A, to achieve a total (ie the sum of each result of 7th cell*quantity) for each column in the bottom row, labeled "Totals".
In the actual version of my sheet, there are far too many rows to select everything manually. I've been fiddling with combinations of COUNTIF/COUNTA and OFFSET, but I haven't come up with a way to check for the 1 in every 7th row, THEN multiply that 1 by the quantity in column A, THEN add up the results for each column. As you can see, there are 1's elsewhere in the columns that are irrelevant to this particular calculation, so something like LOOKUP would also have to look in every 7th cell and couldn't just look at the column as a whole.
If you can't provide an immediate solution, but can at least point me to a resource that would allow me to devise a way to isolate every 7th row (THAT part is the sticking point), I'll surely post the solution to my own thread with updated keywords if I need it.
I am trying to write a formula where the column header of the row in which a value other than 0 exists, will display for each instance (row) where a value exists in an array spanning 3 columns. So the result cell could be any of the three column headers, or a combination thereof.
I started the formula in P2 of the GL Detail-2012 tab. File attached.

So is there a formula that I could use that will look at column A for a specified location number and then average all the days in column B for that location? I need to filter by community but keep all the information listed in columns, B, C, & D.
So when I filter to Thunder Bay I would still see the 5 members listed in column D.
I realize the easy solution is to fill all the empty cells in column A to pick up the data in the other columns, but I do not want to Fill all the empty cells to include the name "Thunder Bay" (not the look I want for this spreadsheet).
I think I am working all around this in Excel 2003 and feel like I am in the neighborhood, but can't seem to quite get there. On sheet1 I have 2 columns of 100s of rows. All of the cells in column A will be filled in with a date as time goes by (1-May-09 for example). Several of them may be 1-May-09 as a matter of fact. In column B, some of the cells will have a number in them and some of them will be empty. On sheet2, I want to construct a formula that returns a count of cells in column B that have a number in them based on a specific date in column A. For example:

If I could get the formula right, it would return an answer of 1 for 1-May in the example, because only 1 of the 1-May entries in column A has a number in the adjacent cell in column B. A formula for 2-May would return an answer of 2 since only 2 of the 2-May entries in column A have numbers in the adjacent cell in column B, and so on for the month. If I understand things right, there are too many arguments for COUNTIF. It seems that SUMPRODUCT should work, but I can't make it so.
I'd like a macro that does 3 things..
1. Find the last row (cell) of data in the "Customer Number" column. This search should be by the name "Customer Number" rather than by column letter because the column that "Customer Number" will be in can change.
2. Find the column named "Purple" (also by name for same reason)
3. If the "Purple" column has no blank cells in those same number of rows as the "Customer Number" column, delete the whole "Purple" column.
I am trying to Count (or counta?) cells in one column if they have data but only if within a date range in another column.
So, in the example below, I would want to count how many cells in column E have data in them, but only if the date in column A falls between Jan 1 2014 and Jan 5 2014. (In this case, result should be 4).

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a worksheet on which the data is already grouped. At the top of each group is a row that contains only the group name. Since the rest of that row is blank, I want to use a blank cell on that row as a reference, then copy the group name to a newly created column, then fill that column down to the next group.
The goal is to create a column that contains the group name, rather than just having the group name as a " header" at the top of each group.
I am trying to use a nested INDEX and MATCH array formula to return the value in column C when matching column A and column B, but with a few more criteria.

I am looking for the array formula to return the name of the person in column C who is in Cat 1 after the date in column B.
For example;
C7 should return "John" because B7 requests "January 15, 2014", which is after the value in B1
C8 should return "John" because B8 requests "February 15, 2014", which is after the value in B1
C9 should return "Andrew" because B9 requests "August 15, 2014", which is after the value in B4
The best try I had for the formula in C7 was
{(INDEX($A$1:$C$4,MATCH(1,($B$1:$B$4>=B7)*(A$1:$A$4=A7),0),3))}
This brings back "John" as desired in C7, but when copying down the table into C8 and C9 both C8 and C9 return Andrew.
I guess this is due to my ">=" condition in the Match formula and it is returning "Andrew" because "Andrew" is also after the date requested, but I cannot for the life of me work out how to get it to work.

I need to write a VBA code to remove the value of the cells in column B if the value in column A is empty. In my excel sheet, the user will paste hyperlinks in column B. If any link does not meet certain conditions, the cell in the same row in column A will be empty.
I want to have a change event so that after pasting links, it automatically deletes the links from the cells in column B if the cell in column A is empty
I have a spreadsheet with multiple columns:
Column B - Host Contact
Column C - Company Name
Column D - Attendees
Column E - Contractor Position
Column B will have anywhere from 1 to 10 names.
Column C will have 1 -2 names.
Column D will have anywhere from 1 to 10 names.
Column E will correlate with column D.
This list will go to multiple people who will want to filter column B for their name. When they filter their name, they should see all values in columns C, D and E.
When I try to filter this spreadsheet by a persons name in Column B, it only shows me the first value in columns C, D and E.
One of the attached pictures shows a mock-up of the unsorted list, the other shows the sorted list.

I'd like a way to add up the item totals for each invoice and put the total in column D. Each invoice could have 1 to 10 different items on it.

I am adding the amounts for Food (Column B), Liquor (Column C), Wine (Column D), Beer (Column E), and Taxes ( Column F) for a total in Column G.
However, Column G is only for credit card totals and I want to do the same calculations for cash totals (Column J) using the same B through F Column without those numbers being plugged back into Column G, when I have no credit card total.
I have an personnel file with employee info, and I want to create a macro that will look in the "Master" worksheet at the Department column ("I") for anyone in Benefits, and then copy their name from the Name column ("D") into the "Benefits" worksheet. The names should begin pasting in cell "D3" but will recognize if a cell already has a name in it and then paste in the cell below that.

I have this formula which is counting the number of cells in a column that fall within each calender month.
However, if there is a formula at the bottom of column B and C that yield a "", the formula breaks.
In my workbook, B/C:133 have a formula =""
I will need the formula in column E to work if there is a formula that yields a "" in column B and C.
I would like a macro that when run, finds empty cells in a column within the used range and fills them with the same formula in the other cells in the same column but relative to the row.
I have a basic understanding of VBA so if someone can set me on the right track i'll have a go myself as i appreciate this would take a while to write out from scratch.
