Creating a formula that basically has a big IF statement. I hope this makes sense, so here goes. I am looking to find the "age" or "elapsed days" of an ID from when they created an account to when they stopped. This might be very complex and if there's not a way to calculate the Elapsed days (even though that's what I prefer), perhaps there is some formula that can return a value like a "1" or "True" or something that lets me know the statement is true.
original formula from post 3261273
{=IF(D2>0,A2-INDEX(A$2:D$16,MATCH(B2&"1",B$2:B$16&C$2:C$16,0),1),"")}
New formulas needed or revised from the above:
Formula 1: If the ID in column 2 are the same, and if there is a value in column 3 (Create) and a value in Column 4 (Suspend) AND there is no value in Column 5 (Stopped), then subtract the dates in column 1 for Create and Suspend. My manual calculation result is in the column called "Elapsed Days (Create to Suspend but NO Stopped)
Formula 2: If the ID in column 2 are the same, and if there is a value in column 3 (Create) and a value in Column 4 (Suspend) AND there is no value in Column 5 (Stopped) OR Column 6 (Unsuspend), then subtract the dates in column 1 for Create and Suspend. My manual calculation result is in the column called "Elapsed Days (Suspend Only, No stopped or Unsuspend)"
Formula 3: The ID in column 2 does not have to be the same, but if there is a value in column 3 only (Create) and there is no value in the Suspend, Stopped, or Unsuspend columns, then place a "1" in the cell. My manual calc is the "Create Only" column.

i need formula that will sum column "B" if the last two digits of column "A" = 50,60 or 70.
is it possible to have boxes for numbers to be inserted into
i want the user to be able to fill in bank account and sort codes numers into the relevant individual box for each number
I have two sheets. First contains Department # 0002549, and the other one contains 5 more digits(#02001 0002549). I will need to find the exact match for the first sheet to contain all 12 digits. THey are all in different order, so I probably have to match them first then add whatever the first 5 digits number. How should I tackle this issue? I was thinking to use vlookup but how could you use vlook up if only last 7 digit matches and add addtional digits to exisiting number?

In my first table I have a list of account numbers. E.g. 'ZZ500543'
In my second table I have a list of account descriptions. E.g. 'Denis Morgan ZZ500543 leak from bath'
I need to match the account number in Table1 with the correct account description in Table2. I thought a Mid function would be the best option to pick out the account number in Table2? Is this right? How would I go about using it?
I am curious if there is a way to combine the content of rows based on a change in account number(column A). The tricky part of it is that an account number could be in the file once and another could be in the data twelve times. The list is sorted by account number. I want to take the product code and description and keep placing in the combined row for each account number. Attached is a sample of the data.

I have these types of numbers displaying like this right now:
9.04585E+13 (should be 90458524211818)
785656.001 (showing properly)
NRDE1312089 (showing properly)
SCGA 396.00 (showing properly)
The formatting is set to general, which works for all but the top type of account number. I tried setting to a custom format like "#.#######" ...The only problem with that format is that the "." shows up whether there is a decimal in the number or not. What's the way around that?
I am trying to pull cell values similar to a SUMIF function (SUMIF(range,criteria,sum_range)). For example, in A1 I use a data list created from data elsewhere on the spreadsheet. In the data I created elsewhere, there are 2 columns being used. The 1st column is the information that is being used to create the list and the second column contains specific values (number or text). In the dropdown menu I select an available value (text or number) . When I have selected that value I would like cell A2 to show what the cell directly to the right of it shows from the data I have elsewhere in the spreadsheet as mentioned. I have tried the SUMIF function however it seems to exclude certain values (number or text) and I am not sure what else to use.

I have got it working but when I alter the row length the macro only works to the final row in the recording spreadsheet. I realize this is because when recorded the macro I told VB to set the range to a given row.
I remember there is a way of setting the Range function that tells VB to always go to the bottom of the rows filled with data but I can't find it for the life of me.

I would like a formula to add up values in Col E based on a range of account numbers in Col C
For eg adding up Sales values in Col E based on Account number being series 3000-3015 in Col C (this particular series must exclude numbers ending in an alpha). I also have account numbers ending in an Alpha where I need to add up the values pertaining to these for eg 3000D-3015D, 3000K-3015K etc.
I need to create a string of all the Acc Number but I dun not wan any repeat of the same Acc number in the String . The number of Acc number to be put in the string may varies sometimes. It may varies from 3 to 1000 or more . Is there a way to write a general formula to create such string?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a simple sumif formula that says =SUMIF(W61:W112,"<30",J61:J112). In column W, there are values ranging from 0 to 5000. If the formula is written like it is above, it excludes summing values from column J when the cell in column W equals 0. Why is this? I can just add another function that says sumif "=0", but I don't think I should have to.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to build a football data sheet on matches played with a column that adds up the last 3 match goals for the team in that row. I've only managed to get as far as adding up all goals for a team in a static date range using SUMIF. I imagine this is more complex and requires some kind of changing sum range that's relative to the cell I'm in.
I'm intermediate at best so any array formulas and VB script would preferred to be avoided if possible.
in the watered down example below, I'd like to add up all home team goals for Hereford in the last 3 matches, therefore excluding the game on the 10th (row 1) giving a total of 5. I'd like this formula to copy down from a13 to future matches and therefore update. So the next week's match will add goals for hereford from e13,e11,e8 but exclude e2, e5. Yes you've guessed it... I'm trying to work out recent team form to predict match outcomes for financial gain...
I've tried using the worksheetfunction.sumif route and couldn't seem to get the syntax correct. I'd prefer the worksheetfunction route, as I don't need the formula stored, but it would be great to have both of these pieces of code for reference online - I scoured Google, and the examples I found were pretty weak.
I've recorded the macro (hence the R1C1 references in the second example) and had it work perfectly, but when I replaced row references with my variables, it went back to displaying "TRUE." I'm including all the code here.
Variables:
expr = 3 to 38 (For loop)
startrow = the starting row for the reference data
endrow = the ending row for the reference data
thresh = minimum threshold (a number)
Syntax error here:
I have come across this SUMIF formula which sum a range and ignoring errors produced by formulas in the range, I can't figure out how this works and need the expertise of the Excel experts here. =SUMIF(A2:A9,"<1E100"). What does "<1E100" represent and how its work
View 2 Replies View RelatedFollowing is a summarized example of my data and what I am trying to accomplish.
[Column A] contains a list of account numbers. [Column B] contains current balances, [column C] contains balances from one month ago, [column D] contains balances from two months ago. Within the same spreadsheet I want the ability to type in the account number in one cell and then the column number in another cell. For example, If I type in the account number 1234 and the column number 3, I would get the balance from [column c]...if I typed in the column number 4, I would get the balance from [column D].
My first thought was to use a simple SUMIF formula that would compare the account number I type with the account numbers found in [column A]. The problem is getting a formula that can translate the number 3 to [column C] or the number 4 to [column D]. Note: the actual spreadsheet I am using extends out to column BI.
This is simuilar to the Column Index Number used in a VLOOKUP formula.
I am currently recorded a macros for a sumif formula. But since the number of rows will not be same every time.
I want the code for a dynamic range.
VB:
Range("E7").Select
ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = _
"=SUMIF('V1 Pivot'!R5C2:R32C2,'Task Level Tab'!R7C2:R30C2,'V1 Pivot'!R5C3:R32C3)"
Range("E7").Select
[Code] ....
Range:
C3,C14,C25,C34,C41
Criteria:
>0
sum-range:
C3,C14,C25,C34,C41
I can't get that to work since the commas in the range are throwing the function off.
I'm trying to built a range to be used at SUMIF. I have the sheet names at column A:A and want to create something dynamic to avoid selecting sheet by sheet all the neccesary ranges but sumif doesn't recognize a range like A1&"!"&B:B for example. I tried different ways but I can't get it!
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do I sumif the date falls between two dates in a quarter.
For example Date of Activity - CellBG43 = 10/10/2008
I want to sum the corresponding Cell BJ43 with cost associated with the activity if the date falls between "01/10/2008"and "31/12/2008".
I tried =sumif(BG43,">=01/10/2008 and <=31/12/2008",BJ43), =sumif(BG43,">=01/10/2008 & <=31/12/2008",BJ43) and it didn't work.
I have a large spreadsheet, to which I add 4 weeks worth of data, from a database printout, (cut n paste) to the bottom, this could be any number of rows. However there is a column with week numbers in for each row. I can happily use =SUMIF('FORM R60'!$H$1:$H$1248,$A1,'FORM R60'!$AH$1:$AH$1248)
This gives me the info I need on a TOTALS sheet, across various columns and rows, where the formula sits, adjusted for whichever column of data I require totals. This info is then read by another spreadsheet.
However, rather than manually change the formula (to suit a range) to add certain numbers of weeks, as I do now, I would like to include in the formula a condition say where the week numbers are >5 and <10, preferably if the condition could refer to cells.
range:
C3,C14,C25,C34,C41
criteria:
>0
sum-range:
C3,C14,C25,C34,C41
I can't get that to work since the commas in the range are throwing the
function off.
How would I SUM all the results from results 1-5 if say ITEM in column A = C?

At the moment I have the below formula that retrieves a value from a separate sheet (the INDIRECT part of the formula determines the sheet to be looked at, as there are numerous and they are dependent upon what is displayed in two drop down lists in cells B3 & E3).
The problem is that the ranges F6:F30000, AJ6:AJ30000 and AA6:AA30000 are not always consistently in the same column position each and every time I receive a refresh of the report. The column headings, however, are always in the same row. Obviously I don't want to have to manually update the formula every time I receive a refresh of the report, so any way that I can get the aforementioned ranges to become more dynamic, so that the correct value will be retrieved each time? I am thinking something like an INDEX/MATCH combo but I am struggling to apply that idea to the 'SUM RANGE' section of the SUMIF function. This is the formula I have so far:
=SUMIF(INDIRECT("'"&$B$3&"'!F6:F30000"),$E$3,INDIRECT("'"&$B$3&"'!AJ6:AJ30000"))
/SUMIF(INDIRECT("'"&$B$3&"'!F6:F30000"),$E$3,INDIRECT("'"&$B$3&"'!AA6:AA30000"))
I have data headings in A1-E1 and actual data in A2-E2. I have a SUMIF function in F2.
A B C D E F
A B A B B
1 2 3 4 5 =SUMIF(A1:E1;"A";A2:E2)
When I insert new data columns between column E and F, the formula still refers to columns A-E although I would like to have the newly added columns in that SUMIF-function included.
For example, if I add 3 new columns, the new SUMIF-function (now in cell I2) should become =SUMIF(A1:H1;"A";A2:H2).
Do to modify the SUMIF-function to do that?
I have an example, see attached. I am trying to find the sum of a number of columns where the critera is between a number of days ie values is greater than 365 but less than 1788 days. The values to sum is the amount for each row where this criteria is met.
