I have a timesheet in excel which details the hours worked per person. It is worked out by have time started in one cell, and time finished in the next cell. (24 hour clock).
The timesheet is for a night club, so people start late, and finish early. Therfore, in the total column I have the following formula...
I have been tasked with creating a workbook that will take a time log file (excel) from an electronic time clock and import the dates/time/employee into individual timesheets. The timesheet layout has already been provided to me and cannot change.
Does anyone know how to write formulas that would gather the date range/time in-out/employee information from one worksheet and automatically import it into the appropriate employee time sheet for the week selected?
I have a cell (G11) whose format is [h]:mm to store hours worked in a week. I need to use that in a VBA function. If I query G11.value I get a non-integer number (I DO know that Excel stores time internall like that). How can I get in a VBA procedure exactly what is see in the cell..e.g if someone worked 35:15 hours, I want to be able to get 35:15 in the procedure. I need to strip it from there to work out payment, eg (hourly rate * 35) + (hourly rate * (15/60)/100).
I have tried using format but it does not like the "[h].mm" argument.
Time arithmetic, I have two cells representing a time range.
The first one (say: X1) is formatted using the custom format [h]:mm and contains a certain number of hours and minutes. It gets its value by summing up other cells in the same format. A typical entry could be 98:35 to represent a duration 98 hours and 35 minutes.
The second cell (say: X2) is formatted as a number with 4 decimal places after the comma, and similarily gets its value by summing up other cells in the same format. It also represents a time duration as a number of hours. A typical entry could be 202.7500 to represent a duration of 202 hours and 45 minutes (because 0.75 of an hour is 45 minutes).
I would like to calculate the hour difference between these cells, and display it as hours and minutes. In the example given, the result should be negative, i.e. -104:10.
My first approach was to use the formula X1-X2 and format the result as [h]:mm, but this gives me a #VALUE! error.
I have a timesheet that the manager fill in every night for the workers, simply it has a start time and end time and it calculates the hours worked (all times are entered in quarters of an hour ie 9.25 for 9:15 etc). At the moment i can work out if a person is on day or night with:
I've been trying to automate the calculations on timesheets and having some trouble. I've attached a rough copy of part of the sheet to this post.
Here's where I'm struggling:
The timesheet has columns for Ins/Outs as well as Reg Hrs (Should never be more than 8), OT 1.5 (Standard 1.5 OT pay for anything over 40 in a week), OT 1.0 (More than 8 hours worked in a day but Vacation/Sick/Holiday/Funeral time keeps it below 40 hours actual work time that week) and then columns for Vacation, Sick, Etc.
Now I'm confident that my Regular Hours works with the following formula:
If statement calculates how many hours worked, multiples it by 24 to put it in an hour format and checks whether it's greater than or equal to 8, if so then only show 8 (since any additional hours worked would need to be in the OT 1.5 or OT 1.0 category depending on the circumstances). If false, returns how many hours worked.
However, I am having some issues getting my OT 1.5 and OT 1.0 categories working correctly. The OT 1.5 column needs to check whether the actual worked hours is over 40 without Vacation/Sick/Funeral, etc included. The OT 1.0 column needs to show any additional hours worked beyond 8 each day but less than 40 over the whole week because of holiday/sick/vacation, etc.
So, if I worked 10 hours on Monday and there isn't any sort of paid leave time that week (and I work normal 8 hours the rest of the week), then Monday would show 8 hours in Regular worked and 2 hours in OT 1.5. Here's what I'm currently using for a formula (that isn't working...my latest addition was the OR statement):
If I worked 10 hours on Monday and there is some sort of Holiday (and I don't actually work over 40 hours that week not including the 8 hours of Holiday pay), then Monday should show 8 hours in Regular time and 2 hours in OT 1.0. Here's what I'm using for this formula (that also isn't working well and I hadn't started working with the OR statement here yet since OT 1.5 wasn't working) :
I'm trying to calculate timesheets including hours at overtime. A1- Start time, B1- Lunch Start, C1- Lunch finish, D1- Finish In E1 I want standard rate hours 'up to 8' In F1 I want the remaining hours. I have tried IF rules and realise these are wrong.
Want to work out formula for working hours If Mr Smith is booked to work I must pay him a min of 8 hours pay at rate A then upto 10 hours still on rate A but after that he gets rate B I need to enter his data on a daily spreadsheet
I have been tasked with creating a workbook that will take a time log file (excel) from an electronic time clock and import the dates/times into individual employee timesheets. The timesheet layout has already been provided to me and cannot change.
I’m really struggling here and would appreciate any help.
Please reference the attached workbook for the issues described below:
1) Sheet "1_attlog" is the log that is imported from the electronic time clock.
2) Sheet "Sorting & Filtering" is what I have developed so far that manipulates the data from sheet "1_attlog" into something that can be easily understood, it also matches employee #'s to a name, and allows for date ranges to be set that copies over to the individual timesheets. Please do not change any formulas on this page if possible.
3) Sheets "#2 Dan through #10 Blank" are all individual employee timesheets that I need to import the data from "Sorting & Filtering" and populate the "Time In" (column D) and "Time Out" (column G) based on matching the data from "Sorting & Filtering" sheet, "Time Clcok ID" (column D) "Date" (column E), "Time In" (column F), "Time Out" (column G), "Emp Name" (column I). The dates on the individual timesheets have been linked to the "Date Range" (cels F2 & F3) on the "Sorting & Filtering" sheet, please keep this link intact.
4) The individual timesheets already have formulas inplace to calculate the hours worked after the "Time In" and "Time Out" data has been imported.
I'm trying to put a simple spreadsheet together that will help my son practice his arithmetic for primary school.
What I have put together is something which will allow him to change say his multiplication tables fairly easily by changing one number.
Conditional formatting shows green if correct and red if wrong - all very easy.
However I think it would be good to show the selected problem in a top down layout so he can visually see what he is trying to do rather than read across the page.
4 x 2 == 8
rather than 4 x 2 = 8
What I would like to do is change this displayed problem when selects the answer cell he is working on.
I will attach what I have done so far with a display example on the multiplication tab.
Is it possible to create a formula that would give the sum of cells that are in arithmetic progression in excel?
Example: Let's first choose 4 cells that are in arithmetic progression, B14 , B20 , B26 and B32 for instance(the common difference here is 6). So what I want to do is: I want to type a formula in another cell, lets suppose C5, that will automatically give me the sum of the values of B14,B20,B26 and B32. I am aware that I can just type on C5 =B14+B20+B26+B32 but and if I wanted the sum of 90 cells? Wouldn't it be too much work to type all the cells? Does Anyone know a formula for it?
is it possible, in a function, to do something like this?
Lets say I'm in cell N7, and here's its formula:
IF (N6=$A$13,(A+1)$13,0)
-if the cell before it (N6) is equal to the value of $A$13, then I want N7 to equal the value of B13. If N6 is not equal to $A$13, then place a 0 in cell N7.
basically, I would like to tell my function to move to the next column if it meets a condition in an "IF" statement. Such as, go from column A to Column B given a certain condition. Otherwise, stay in column A until that condition is met.
Can I use dates as argument in Boolean arithmetic? I have a list of name with their date of birth and I would like to tell who is between 18 and 25. It's easy enough with number but with dates? Excel 2007
I'm trying to come up with a MapsCo grid to "overlay" geoLoc data. Given the coordinates of a single box within a MapsCo page, I'll can figure out the others once I know how to "from this point, add .5 miles due North and mark another point; from that point, add .5 miles due East and record the next point; etc".
I have a worksheet which contains START TIME in column A, then TIME USAGE in column B and END TIME in column C. User enters start time, followed by the number of time usage in minutes, how could i possibly display the end time automatically in this scenario? how do you add the entered time usage to the start time to display the end time? Say if I enter 1:00 AM at start time and 00:15 minutes on time usage, how can 1:15 AM be displayed on the end time automatically?
the vendor has a 21 hr working window; start from 7am and goes until 4am; Mon to Fri.
Here is a scenario: - i request for a product information from a vendor on 3-Feb-14 8:00am (Monday) - he replies with all of the product info on 6-Feb-14 12:00pm (Thursday)
can you find the time in above scenario consideration the working window?
Here is another scenario: - i request for a product information from a vendor on 6-Feb-14 8:00am (Thursday) - he replies with all of the product info on 11-Feb-14 12:00pm (Tuesday) - Sat & Sun are days off but keep in mind that my Friday shift ends on sat at 4am so the networdays formula wont work.
I am trying to provide a tool for department leaders to monitor productivity for order processing in their departments. The variables I have are: Number of orders(variable), number of pickers (variable), start time(variable). Then, I know each order takes 1 picker 4 minutes to pick on average, and there are 45 minutes worth of breaks during the picking process. So after entering the variables I used =(((C3*4)/60)/D3) to come up with the time needed to process the orders. What I can't get to is how to add this number to the start time, factor in break minutes and get to the projected completion time. I have Excel 2003 at work. Clearly I need to take a class!
I am looking for a function to convert time given by my computer (Local time) in EST (Eastern Standard Time). We are several users of a same file (with timestamp macros) and all time need to be aligned to one time zone (EST), even if all users are working in different time zone (EST, CST and IST).
'light eligibility Dim facb As String Dim sunset As Variant [color=green]' check if facility has lights[color] facb = WorksheetFunction.VLookup(RID, ds, 10, False) 'find facility code If WorksheetFunction.VLookup(facb, fac, 6, False) = "Y" Then 'facility has lights sunset = WorksheetFunction.VLookup(tempws.Range("A9"), sun, 2, False) 'lookup the sunset time based on the record's date
[Code] ......
This code checks the need for lights at a facility.
It first checks to see if the facility even has lights by cross-referencing a value in the record with a facilities database.
If it has lights, it then checks to see if they are needed. If the rental goes past the sunset time, then it needs lights. Sunset is determined by cross-referencing the date value in sheet1! A9, with the sunset database.
If it needs lights, variable lghtson is calculated equal to "sunset"-30 minutes.
As I step through this code:
WorksheetFunction.VLookup(facb, fac, 6, False) = "Y" Facility has lights. Check to see if lights are needed. sunset = WorksheetFunction.VLookup(tempws.Range("A9"), sun, 2, False) sunset=0.879166666666667 which is 9:06PM. This is a proper value from the lookup. If rental_end.value > sunset Then rental_end (value from textbox) = "9:30 pm" , sunset=0.879166666666667. This is true, and Excel accepts it as true ... lghtson = sunset - 0.5 0.379166666666667 = 0.879166666666667 - 0.5 (9:06 AM)
This is not the value I was looking for. I was looking for 8:34PM (0.856944444444444)
I have a user form with textBox1 = start time (entered as "[h]:mm") and text Box2 = finish time (entered as "[h]:mm"). I would like textBox3 to display the difference between the start time and finish time as a general number!
For example Start time: 21:00 Finish time: 06:30 Hours worked: 9.50
I am trying to figure a way to search for a cell that has a specific date and time range. There are several cell titles pending on the activity. I want to find a cell that has a time ** 7:30-15:30 , 15:31-17:30, 17:31-20:30. The end result is to calculate the activity between those time periods based on the data cells.
Example
If the date searched time field ** the activity ranges is 1635 I need to split the time and credit the activity time in the 730-1530 time and the rest on the 15:31-17:30 time
I have been able to do it on a single labor group based on time alone, but when I try to add the DATE to it my numbers go null. Eventually i will need to add 11 labor groups daily for weeks at a time .
A client buys 500 minutes of my time. In one week I spend 340 minutes on the account. I'd like a column to show Time purchased (say 500 Minutes) Time spent and a final section showing time left (but showing negative values in red)
I hope I've explained this ok but here is an illustration of what I'm trying to achieve in Excel 2011.
I am not sure that I can do this, but here is what I would like to do. I have a worksheet that I initial when I start a job in on cell and then when I finish in another cell. What I's like is to have a macro running in the back ground that will tell me the total elapsed time from when I started to when I finished.
I have a workbook with macro button to run some vba, if i want the button to disable when the user make copies of the workbook (date created is later than original wb saved time) what codes to add in the VBA?
what i assume is to add the time to a cell when the wb is saved, when the wb opens, it check for that cell if the same with the date created, if different, then disable the macro button.
I have a protected worksheet. Users wish to be able to track changes in the input cells. The suggested approach for this is to temporarily disable sheet protection and allow them to change the font color, then protect afterwards. What I would like to do is:
i) check whether they are in an input cell ii) if so, then prompt the user with the 'Font Color' dialog box iii) apply the font color selected to the input cell
I'm struggling to find the dialog box I need. I can launch the one to change the interior color, no problem (Application.Dialogs(xlDialogPatterns).Show). But that's no use to me, I just want a color palette that specifically relates to the Font Color
