Do not save file year.xlms if total of column N in sheetR does not match with total of column O in that sheet. I also want a msgbox if this happens.
I have two columns of data. Column B is age column C is gender. I want to calculate average male age and average female age. Suggestions?
Sample
B C
57 f
53 f
47 m
40 f
42 m
Average female age is ___
Average male age is ___
I have a table that looks like this (its basically a historical data of a stock exchange):
Date
Index
January 4, 2010
[Code]....
The List continues till the current Date.
I want to calculate Average Index Values of a Date of each month within a Date Range.
Example: Calculate Average Index Values for 3rd of Each month from 1st Feb 2010 to 3rd Jan 2011. Formula should calculate Average of the Index Values for 3rd Feb 2010, 3rd March 2010, 3rd April 2010, 3rd May 2010, 3rd June 2010, 3rd July 2010, 3rd Aug 2010, 3rd Sept 2010, 3rd Oct 2010, 3rd Nov 2010, 3rd Dec 2010, 3rd Jan 2011.
Both the Date and the Date Range is variable. Also, the Index Value for selected Date of one or more month may not be available as that being a holiday. In that case, the formula needs to use the last available Index Value before that Date. e.g. If Index Value for 3rd Oct 2010 is not available, system will use the Index Value of 2nd Oct 2010.
I'm looking for some help. I need a function that can check if each of two seperate values is less than one. If less than one then divide by 2. Then give me the average of these two values. So it could be that it takes 0.5/2=0.25 for one value and 3 for another to give me the average of 1.625.
I'm trying to figure out if there is a formula I could use that will calculate the average of a group cells in one column based on the condition of another column. It's hard to explain, so I will show an example. All the data is on a one worksheet and I'm trying to show totals and averages on another worksheet. Location, Days
17, 4
17, 3
17, 5
26, 4
26, 8
26, 10
26, 7
On a different worksheet I would want to know what the average days are for each location. So is there a formula that I could use that will look at column A for a specified location number and then average all the days in column B for that location? I'm using Excel 2003 and have tried using the Average(if) but with no success.
I am making a summery table of lots of soil contaminant data.
In my summery table, for each determinand I want the average value automatically taken from data from a number of other tables within this same spreadsheet.
For example, for pH- I would average the pH value found in each table, from cell D6, G24 and AB9.
The problem:
Out of the three tables where I take each pH value from, on occasions only one will have a value- the other two will be "0".
How do I ensure that, when averages are taken, it will always ignore '0' values?
I'd like to calculate an average over a variable range. In col.A there are grades from A4:A21. In col.C there are the values for the start row of the range and in col.D the values for the end row of the range.
For instance the value in C4=4 and D4=9. In cell F4 I want the average calculated over A4:A9. Value in C5=10 and D5=15. In cell F5 I want the average calculated over A10:A15.
Worksheet 1
I am calculating group averages for the following performers - very good, good, average, low, very low - for a series of factors.
Worksheet 2
Contains the same factors with the values for which Im trying to work out the average. Each factor has a performance rating above it, either very good, good, average, low, very low.
I need a formula which will match the performance rating from worksheet 1 (I3, J3, K3, L3, M3) to worksheet 2 and then calculate the averages of each factors based on those matches.
I have a problem when Im trying to calculate averages in my pivot table. I dont know how to handle my missing values. If I leave them blank I cant get the average at all because the values end up under the dates instead of in a column next to the dates where I want them to be. If I write 0 it uses it as a value, eg 2+2+0 and i get 1,33 instead of 2. Also the zero could be a value for some of the parameters, so it's no good.
I am new to pivot tables.
I want to calculate the average of a range...if it meets a certain text criteria.
For example, if the product is a "Course", then take the average of pages all those courses together.
ProductNumber of PagesExam316Course46Exam232Course32Exam245Course53Exam155Course246Exam118Course154Exam82Course434Exam80Average # of Pages for Courses = Average # of Pages for Exams =
I'm stuck on the final piece of my macro project. I've attached a workbook with two sheets: sheet 1 is what I currently have, and sheet 2 is what I'd like my report to look like when complete.
On Sheet 1:
- column B is called Supervisor Name
- Columns D-O are months of the year, with either a Yes or No in each cell.
I'd like to write a macro that will:
- Take all unique values in Supervisor Name column, and paste these Above the current table.
- For each Supervisor, and each month, I'd like it to calculate, as a %, the number of Yes mentions in each month divided by the total cells (Yes/(Yes+No)).
Sheet 2 contains the output, in the format I'd like to see it.
Sheet 2:
Supervisor Name
October
November
December
Supervisor 1
8.3%

I'm using Excel 2003. I have about 190 rows that I use on any given day to enter start times & end times. I calculate the difference in Column E. Is there a formula that will calculate the average time as I enter them in the rows? Some days may have only 100 entries, other days may have as many as 190. I don't want to keep adjusting the average formula for column E.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two excel files that I am trying to gather information from to calculate the average $/hr earned by employees. The first file, which is currently called "Book 1" is generated by a different VBA code, the other "Employee Hour Output" is generated by our time clock program. What I am trying to do is have the script run from the PERSONAL workbook and look in the Employee Hour Output. In column B there are Employee names, for each employee that worked, there is a list of invoice numbers located in column E.
The code needs to see which invoice numbers each employee worked on then compare that to the $/HR earned from that job in the Book1 workbook. Then based on all the jobs worked, calculate the average $/HR that employee earned in the given time period. This information needs to be displayed with the employee name and $/HR in the first available row of columns H and I of the Book1 workbook.
Here's a simplified example:
ColA
ColB
ColC
Row1
A
Y
A
Row2
B
N
D
[Code] .........
I'm looking to return the values in column A adjacent to the cells in Column B equal to "Y". The kicker has been returning only the cells where the condition is true. Column C displays the desired behavior.
The closest I've been able to get is with a simple IF statement but I'm pretty sure the answer is a far cry away from there and likely requires an array formula. I'd prefer not to use VLOOKUP or OFFSET but will if the alternative is very complex.
Is there a formula that would allow you to take the average of all values within a range but not count the zero values? I thought something like this might work but it's not. Neither one worked.
=AVERAGEIF($E$4:$E$34,">0")
=AVERAGEIF(E4:E34,">0")
I have a row data corresponding to the measuring of load cell per min and I need to average the values per hour. So I have a column B for the date (from 1-01-2013 to 31-01-2013, column C for the time (0:00:00 to 23:59:00), and D de values per min I want to average. I have to do the same for the rest of the month of 2013 (February, ...., December).
I would like to know if there is a way to create a formula to calculate the average of the first 60 values (to get the average of the first hour of 1-01-2013), and then copy it to get the average of the following 60 (average of the second hour in 1-01-2013) and so on.
If there is no way to do it, I would like to know if I can do it using functions like average, match, index, offset, what would be the best match of those functions.
I also tried it by doing the analysis in another tab and using the function "averageifs" with two criterias: one for the date (example 01-01-2013) and another one for the hour (example 0:00:00), but it didnt work, it show error: #value. I inserted an extra column in the data tab with just the hour (example 0:00:00) in front of the corresponding column with (example 0:01:00, 00:02:00, etc)
Equation I used for this:
=AVERAGEIFS('Data (min)'!D$6:D$43206,'Data (min)'!$A$6:$A$44646,A6,'Data (min)'!$B$6:$B$44646,B6)
=AVERAGEIFS(TAB AND COLUMN WHERE THE RAW DATA IS,RANGE OF CRITERIA 1,CRITERIA 1,RANGE CRITERIA 2,CRITERIA 2)
It's probably best if you open up the attached example spreadsheet that contains sheets "Before" and "After" otherwise it might be pretty difficult to understand what I'm talking about.
So I have this spreadsheet where I have part numbers in column B, status of the orders in Column I and lead times in Column M. What I want to achieve is to get of Mode (col N), Median (col O) and Average (Col P) values of each part number and each of its status using the lead times in Column M. If possible I would only like this on the top lines of each of these. I have done the formulas manually on sheet After so if you click on the formula you can see the range's it covers.
I did create a concatenation in column K (conc of column B and I) as helper column because in theory this might make things a little bit easier.
Now going into second part. I would also like to do something very similar but only using the part number and status "Finished" and get the values in columns T,U, and V on the top row of each part number. I made some blue boxes and arrows to kind of point out the idea.
The solution can be either formula based or macro, it really doesn't matter, however I will intent to use it within macro either way.
I am having problems with choosing multiple values for the second condition in the b range. The formula works for one account in the array, but not multiples.
=SUMPRODUCT((('Data Sheet'!$A$2:$A$997<2110000)+('Data Sheet'!$A$2:$A$997>2119999)),--('Data Sheet'!$B$2:$B$997={"300100","302100"}),'Data Sheet'!D$2:D$997)
I'm currently using this formula to calculate the average values in column B where the value in column A ='s E1 eg:
=AVERAGEIF($A$2:$A$21,E1,B2:B21)
Instead of doing this however, I need the formula to calulate the average from column B where the "Date" in column A ='s the year and month I specify in other cells.
Year value specified in: F1
Month value specified in: G1
I have a spreadsheet that has columns of monthly values for three years of financial data and where the values for the latest month are added to the last column. Months that have not been completed will have a zero value (e.g. Jul-09).

I need to find average of the values , the count of the cells will be dynamic (may be 5 or even 200).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a formula for the following:
If there is nothing is U6:W6 return blank
Otherwise sum the contents of Bf6:BH6 and divide by the number of cells that are not empty in the range U6:W6 (to get an average of only the values in that range not including blanks).
I have a worksheet which has various figures for each day of the week however I need to establish the weekly average of these figures.
Due to the way in which the figures are displayed, I am unsure how to use a formula which does not require a range with cells located adjacent to one another.
I have attached a test sheet as an example. The cells in yellow require the formula and I need a weekly average for criteria 1-3. This formula also needs to be compatible in Excel 2003

I need a cell formula that will (a) identify the highest N values in an above specified column range, (b) color the interior of those N cells (I suspect that this is not possible), and most importantly (c) return the average value of N corresponding cells, where the corresponding cells are located on the same rows as the identified N high value cells but in a specified column to the left (not necessarily adjacent)
Does anybody know what this formula would look like?
Example:
-----------------------
...| A | B | C | D | E | F |
-------------------------
1 |....| * |.........| 7 |...
-------------------------
2 |....................| 2 |...

3 |....| * |.........| 6 |...

4 |....................| 1 |...

5 |....| * |.........| 5 |...

6 |....................| ? |...

I want to compare cells and use a range of values to calculate totals (i.e. count if cell A1=boy and cell A2 equals either "fat" or "skinny")? Also, I tried using wildcard character "*" in the SUMPRODUCT formula, which didn't work (i.e. if cell A1="boy*" would return at TRUE if the cell contained "boy", "boys", "boy and girl", etc.). Is there a way to include wild card characters in a SUMPRODUCT formula like the ones described above?
View 9 Replies View Related=SUBTOTAL(2,A2:A100) can be used in combination with any other formula so that when the data is filtered using autofilter it will only count values greater than zero.
I have attached a worksheet with the example.
In the attached workbook subtotal formulas are used in Row1 for sum and row 2 for count.
When the data is filtered using code "DUP" in column D, the subtotal in cell C2 is "4", whereas in the specified range there is a positive value in only 1 cell that is $1050 in cell C99.
Is there some combination that can be used with SUBTOTAL formula so that it will only count values greater than zero when data is filtered.
I am trying to denote certain numbers with an asterisk (i.e. -10*) and then averaging a range of cells but excel thinks it's multiplication. Is there a way to ignore this? Range of numbers: 0 to -10. Tried left function but I need it to work no matter how many characters there are.

I am trying to create a macro using arrays to calculate average sales from a list of sale amounts that originate from different cities. Each city has its own city code and I want to display the average amount of sales for each city. The attached file is the template that ive created to do this. I am having trouble getting the arrays and loops to work. If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.CitySales2.xls
