I have a set of unique customer names in a column A, say A1 to A200 in my data sheet. These customers have route numbers assigned to them (defined by the client) column B - B1 to B200. The route no.s are 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, & 8. The column lists can be of varying lengths but no more than 500 rows. I want to relate the routes to 8 separate sheets in the workbook. In each sheet I want to extract a column of customers based on the route number. So if the first customer in column A is route '1' (column B) it populates the first entry in sheet 'Route 1' with the customer name as so on for the rest of the sheets.
I'm using Excel 2010. I have a workbook that has six or seven worksheets in it. Each worksheet has a header row, and then lists of clients at the clinic where I work. The columns are last name, first name, medicaid #, social security #, DOB. We use these lists every month to verify that each client has Medicaid for the month. Therefore, there are also columns with names like April, May, June where we mark yes or no for each client. Some of the worksheets also have information about the clients' guardian, phone number, etc., but not every worksheet has those. (I can't show you the worksheets b/c of federal privacy laws, of course.)
I really, really want a worksheet that's a master list of the data from each of the existing worksheets, and I'd like to keep it synced to the source worksheets. I'd love it if I could also add a column telling me which of the source worksheets the data originally came from.
I've tried a few things to make it happen, but nothing has worked.
I've tried using the Consolidate function built into Excel as well, but that only works with numbers, not text, and it wants to manipulate the numbers instead of just copying them over.
I've found several macros online that should have worked (including one from this site) but that I wasn't able to install to my worksheet. I followed all the steps for installation, and throught it worked, but when I went back to the Excel file to run the macro, the list of available macros remained emptpy.
Is it possible that corporate IT has disabled the ability to install macros? Is there somewhere in Options were I need to go to turn Macros on?
My task is to consolidate 4 Excel Project Lists (Workbooks) to a Master Workbook. The Project Lists has a different structure and almost different content. The relevant information is always on Sheet1 but it has completely different ranges. The only constant is the Project Number, which should be used to sort the information. Every Project should be listed only once with all the existing information.
I found a code written by Ron de Bruin which has already some components that I want to have in my VBA but I think there are still a lot of necessary adjustments to do.
Code: Sub MergeSelectedWorkbooks() Dim SummarySheet As Worksheet Dim FolderPath As String Dim SelectedFiles() As Variant Dim NRow As Long Dim FileName As String Dim NFile As Long Dim WorkBk As Workbook
The Master Project List should has the headers in Row1 and the information listed below. The Macro should automatically places the correct information to the correct column. Some of the information are in 2 or more of the lists but they should be listed only once in the Master List.
Project Description ... 1111E.000000001
I guess a problem is that the structures of the Lists are quite different so there must be a kind of sorting process.
In the end I want to have an Excel File with the Macro and a Command Button and by clicking the Macro creates a new Workbook with the Master List.
It would be better if there is a variable range instead of a defined. Like the Macro searches the last row and starts at this row and column.
- which is marvellous and gives me exactly what I want. However my test book only has this dragged down 10 rows and already it takes 20-30 seconds to calculate. The real workbook is likely to stretch to several hundred rows, and to make matters that little more complex where I have Sheet2!$B$2:$B$100 this will relate to a completely separate book on a company network.
Is there any more efficient method of creating this list or will I just have to bear with the calculation speed?
Am looking for an easy way to produce a list of combinations (maximum 6 numbers) from a range of numbers listed in 6 different columns:
Example Column A contains : 1,2,3 Column B contains : 7,8,11,15 Column C contains : 12,16,18,19 Column D contains : 17,30,31 Column E contains : 30,31,32,33,34 Column F contains : 37,39,40 The rules are:
In each combination of 6 numbers, numbers should always be taken from ALL 6 columns. In each combination, numbers cannot repeat.
I have a workbook with 2 worksheets, Sheet1 & Sheet2. Sheet1 has a list of products on it, with a code, pack size and cost.
Sheet2 has got 8 columns in it.
The first column will be A , B , C
The second will be D, E, F
Third will be G, H, I
Going right through to column 8 which will be V, W X
In the second column in each on I will be have a (sell by date) So B, E, H, through to W will have sell by dates in them.
What I am looking for is a macro that will give me a list of short sell by dates when I click the button. So if today’s date is 02/12/09 when the button is clicked it will give me a list of all the product that have lets say a month sell by date left, I would like to be able to change the month to anything I want, just in case I want to do a longer check on the sell by date.
When it finds a short date I would like it to check against the code, so in the first column the code will be in A, it will match that code up against the code in Sheet1 and give me a list of the Code, and the Product from sheet1 and the sell by date that’s in Sheet2. The problem I have is when data is put into the second column on sheet2 which is D.E.F, I would want it just to check that column and not the A,B,C from column 1.
I have a workbook that has three worksheets. The ASU Database sheet contains part numbers and descriptions including specific details that are selected from pull down data validation lists that are named on the third worksheet. I want to have a front end on the first worksheet that has similar data validation lists for the user to select from to create a search criteria that will create a worksheet with only the rows that meet this criteria. I am not sure what method to use to accomplish this.
I have attached a sample workbook, (Pricing Sheet - Major) within this work book there is a worksheet entitled Price Book which has commonly-used materials, unit prices and labour rates. What he wishes to do is use the contents of the Price Book worksheet within a worksheet called Pricing Sheet to enable him to prepare quotations.
I had the idea to first sort the items in the Price Book worksheet and then produce a dropdown list of these items for use within the Pricing Sheet worksheet and used the VLOOKUP function to obtain the values for unit prices and labour within the Price Book and use them in the Pricing Sheet worksheet.
I have an Excel 2003 list with four columns as shown below:
Zipcode CRRT Count Bundles
85710 C004 693 14
85710 C005 867 18
85710 C006 1021 21
I want to "expand" this list to use in a Mail Merge program to produce tags for our direct mailing. Each bundle contains 50 letters, so in the first line on the above spreadsheet, there will be 13 bundles of 50 and 1 of 43. Currently, I can cut and paste to create the following table, but there has to be an easier way...
Zipcode CRRT Count bcount Bundle ibundle
85710 C004 693 50 1 14
So as I pull this into a mail merge I will get a tag that shows the zipcode, the crrt, the total pieces for that crrt, then number of the bundle for example " 1 of 14" and the quantity in that bundle, for example "50 of 693", then the next bundle tag will print, 3 to a page. I know that here has to be an easier way either in the mail merging process itself or with EXCEL? Am even open to build these with ACCESS to create the tags. The beginning database contains anywhere from 350 to 800 lines of original data, so as you can see the cut and paste is VERY time consuming.
I need to consolidate these two lists of data into one list.
First set is just a basic list of individuals with their data.
Second set is multiple entries for those same individuals. Each entry shows a subscription to a programme. The final single sheet should have one row per individual which shows all of the programmes they are subscribed to.
See attached, example sheet.
The real list is 3000 IDs, so need some kind of formula to do this.
I am trying to create a sub-list from a master list based on a column criteria. Basically, we have a large group of people that are now being split into 3 different sub groups, but still part of the whole. I would like to only upkeep the master list by assigning one of 3 managers to each employee and then having Excel place the employee's info (5 columns) into a seperate worksheet based on the manager assigned (3 seperate worksheets, one for each manager). I have searched through books and Excel help, but still cannot find any formula that can return multiple lines based on one criteria. Am I out of luck and forced to maintain this database with an Auto Filter and manually moving/copying the info?
I am trying to create a master list in a new sheet based on the data contained in 4 separate tabs. The data is Username, Display Name, Company. Unfortunately some users have accounts in 2 of the companies (with the same username) and I need these to default to Company A.
The output need to be username, Display Name, Company.
I am trying to get specific data from several worksheets and put it into a master list. My biggest problem is the the primary sheets are constantly updated and would need to extract some data fromt the master list for these updates.
What I have now is working fine, but I have to duplicate some of the data whenever I add a new sheet.
Can this be done using formulas or do I have to learn some VBA or use of macros?
I have Sheet1 with point numbers in column A; X, Y, and Z coordinates in columns B, C, and D. Other sheets are the same format for different jobs! I would like to be able to have all points in the master list and accessable from all sheets when the jobs overlap and same data is requested.
I have two lists of data. The Master data in sheet one and the monthly download in sheet two. I want to create a macro that will identify the new entries in sheet two and add it to the bottom of the list in sheet one.
I need to create a list of all available variations from 2 lists. Example, I have a list of data that has 50 entries in it, and another list that has 300. I need to create a list of all options to import into a system that would include all 1500 options if you were to make a list of all possible combinations of the 2 lists of data...
EG. list 1 = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and list 2 = a b c d e
Final list would be 1a 2a 3a 4a 5a 1b 2b 3b 4b 5b 1c 2c 3c 4c 5c etc...
I have been having alot of trouble and have read alot. I can't seem to figure out the problem. I am currently working on an excel sheet that will select a name from the first drop down list. Based on that name five other list will be generated just on the first selection.
I am creating a class list from a list of all students and classes. Names of students are in column A, their class name is in column B. In another sheet I would like to show a list of names from one particular class, say "Y8/En1".
Using a filter on the original list isn't an option as I will need it to pull/show other things eventually.
i have consolidates five paired lists on same worksheet into a new list? Each pair of columns (First Column (Acct #) and Second Column (Day N Count)) contains numbers and the range of data in each column and/or row will be unknown each week, so need the formula to auto adjust. New list should have this format:......
