Reference In Adjacent Column Returned

I have two columns with multiple sets of data, based on the entered value I
need the corresponding header returned.

For example:
Column A Column B
Apples Green
Red
Granny Smith
Mutsu
Red Delicious

Oranges Naval
Manderin
Clementine
Tangerine

Now based on a response in another sheet I need to return either "Apple" or
"Orange".

=INDEX('Fruit'!A1:A65535,MATCH(K50,'Fruit'!B:B65535,0)) will work if I copy

Apple next to each apple type, but for other items the list of options can
grow dramatically.

Drag Copying Formula Down While Skipping Cells In Adjacent Reference Column?

I have a spreadsheet with temperature data, all in one column (D), that was recorded every 10 minutes for several months. In two adjacent columns (E & F), I would like to record the daily max and min temperatures. I can manually do this with MAX and MIN formulas in column E and F respectively, MAX(D1:D144). But when I copy this formula to the next row, I get MAX(D2:D145) when what I really want is MAX(D145:D288)....and so on...

Fill Empty Column Cells With Reference To Adjacent Cells

I would like a macro that when run, finds empty cells in a column within the used range and fills them with the same formula in the other cells in the same column but relative to the row.

I have a basic understanding of VBA so if someone can set me on the right track i'll have a go myself as i appreciate this would take a while to write out from scratch.

Looking For A Solution On How To Convert A Returned Cell Address To A Cell Reference

I have a formula (AL15) to determine the address of the last column with a value greater than 1. =COUNTIF(C16:AC16,">=1")+2. I then use this column value to aquire the Absolute row "15" and the determined column=(ADDRESS(15,AL15,4)). This returns to me a Column value and row value that I need to use as a refference. How can I convert this returned value to a reference.

Multiple Values Returned From Same Column

I have IDs in the first column of an excel chart. After that I have three more columns, being date of test, type of test (start, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, finish), and lastly the result for the test.

Right now, the same IDs are listed multiple times for different results, so for example:

ID | Date | Type | Result
27 | 3/27 | Start |8.3
27 | 6/27 |3 Mon |7.9
27 | 9/27 |6 Mon |7.4
27 | 12/3 |9 Mon |7.2
27 | 3/27 | FINISH |6.5

What I need is the following layout:

ID | Start | Date | 3 Months | Date | 6 Months | Date | 9 Months | Date | Finish | Date

ID is only shown at left, and the values for the test result and corresponding dates are shown in their respective columns.

I tried to do an IF function with a LOOKUP inside, and it worked originally, but when I add more values for the same ID to the original column, it only shows the latest date, and only gives that result.

Aged Debts is

Customer number, Current Outstanding, 30,60,90,120.. Comments.

I would like to bring back the last comment which would be the furthest right comment in "comments".

Reference Error Cells Without Error Being Returned

I have a VB function in a worksheet that requires data from a workbook that is not under my control. The problem is that the workbook does not always have complete data. Often cells are filled with #VALUE, when this occurs I need a way to tell my VBA to assume a value of 0. I have tried using if(cell="#VALUE", 0,cell) but to no avail. any suggestions?

I am trying to write a formula that will look at an array (containing text strings) and then for each occurrence of a particular value return the text string from another cell in another column but which matches the row of the occurring value. I would prefer all returned values to be entered into different cells in a column but I would be happy if they were all in one cell separated by a comma or whatever.

Stop Formula Column Reference Changing On Insert But Not Row Reference

A 'Days Attended' cell (N8) and a 'Days Absent' cell (O8). N8 needs to count the number of "Present" values there are on another worksheet. The other worksheet has dates across the top and names down the side.

When i use
=COUNTIF("Attendance!C9:Z9", "Present"),
and the next date comes along the formula changes to
=COUNTIF("Attendance!D9:AA9", "Present")

ie. the reference moves a column across - the new date's absent or present is not counted. Using =COUNTIF(INDIRECT("Attendance!C9:Z9"), "Present"). is no good because when i add a new name i need the row reference to move down as a row is inserted. ie. both person's formulas count the same row. So, my question: I need the columns to stay the same - C:Z (leyway for future dates) and the rows to change as i insert or delete people from the system.

Below is an exctract from a much larger sheet of the columns in question.

I have a worksheet on which the data is already grouped. At the top of each group is a row that contains only the group name. Since the rest of that row is blank, I want to use a blank cell on that row as a reference, then copy the group name to a newly created column, then fill that column down to the next group.

The goal is to create a column that contains the group name, rather than just having the group name as a " header" at the top of each group.

if the value in column O=$0.00 then I need to divide the adjacent cell in column L by 0.3 or multiply by 30%

this is the way I was trying to do this...

Concatenate Column With Adjacent Column In Loop

I had a problem finding something then deleting the column, I tried to alter the code from that thread to solve a new problem and I am close (I think), but not quite there. I need to find the column "Group" and merge it with the column "Sex" which is offset by 1 column. This code will go through and find the column "Group" and merge for the first cell, but will then get stuck in a loop just concatenating "Sex" to the end continuously. I have are two worksheets, "Sheet 1" which is a bill of lading form and "Sheet 2," in which columns A and B contain Part Numbers and Weights respectively.

What I'm wanting to have happen is when a user inputs a part number into Sheet 1 (say in cell B6), it calls a UDF that looks up the part number on sheet two column A and returns the corresponding weight from column B (to say cell C6 on sheet 1).

I have a formula that searches through a couple columns, and based on some criteria on those columns, it returns a value. The criteria looks at the dates in a given week, finds the earliest date, and then the largest value for all entries of the same date. So, I do not know what this vale is going to be in advance. In any case, Let's call this value1. This is all working fine!

Now, what I need to do is grab the value in an adjacent column to the left(same row) and add that to value1. Let's call this adjacent column value, value2. I was thinking that I could use the OFFSET function in this way, OFFSET(cell reference of value1, 0, -1) to return value2.

But this requires that I can get a cell reference for Value1. I cannot find out how to get a cell reference. I saw some VBA code to search and return cell references, but it assumed that you know what value you are looking for, and I do not know that in advance.

In the B column i have dates. In the C column i have total hours.

Right now the following code counts how many instances of a date (Dt) are found and makes a decision if it is more than 3.

VB:
IVAL = Application.WorksheetFunction.CountIf(WS.Range("B:B"), Dt)
If IVAL > 3 Then

What i need is to SUM the hours (C column) for each instance of the date (Dt) in the B column, and test if it is greater than 24. so it would be similar to this:

VB:
IVAL = Application.WorksheetFunction.SumIf(WS.Range("C:C"), Dt)
If IVAL > 24 Then

Except that this code attempts to sum the hours of the C column and also wants to recognize the dates from the C column which would not work. I need something different than SUMIF. I need it to Sum the C column for the appropriate dates (Dt) in the B column.

I have a spreadsheet with a list of account numbers and values(sheet1) and on a seperate sheet (sheet2) a list of all unique account numbers that appear in the transaction data sheet.

What I am trying to do is get a total sum for the values of each account number. What I am getting well I'm not quite sure what I'm getting. The problem appears to be when the xSubtotal variable is reset to 0 at the end of calculating all the values for the account number.

Find End Of Adjacent Column In Macros

When I record a macro I use the paste down feature, but in the code it just sets the paste down to the last cell and sets that number in the code.

What do you put in the code so it finds the NEW bottom of the column when the columns get longer or shorter? I tried recording in relative reference and that did not do it - what's the trick?

VBA - Autofill To First Blank Adjacent Column?

I want to write some VBA code that simulates the double click of the square in the lower right of a selected cell. When you double click it, it fills every cell in column A until the first blank in column B. I was able to find this code searching around:

Code:
Selection.AutoFill Destination:=Range("A10:A" & Range("B10" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row)
Selection.Copy

The issue with the above is that it copies the data all the way down to the LAST row in column B with data.

I want to have the macro stop when it finds the FIRST blank cell in column B.

Just as an example, the last row of data in column B is 100, but in row 67 the cell is blank, so I want it to stop at row 66.
