Autofilter To Copy Line To A Number Of Sheets
Feb 12, 2010
1) This spreadsheet has 7 main sheets, UK, IBE, FIN, BENE, FRA.
2) Each main sheet has 8 sub sheets i.e UK CAT A to H, IBE CAT A to H etc.
3) col BO on the main sheets will have CAT A,B to H and can contain some other text but i'm only concerned about the CAT. Also Cat may be wrote CAT, cat or Cat etc
At the moment i'm using a loop, I had some code from another thread yesterday but this code creates new sheets if it can not find a sheet named the same
I will need to run this as 1 i.e all 7 together or 1 at a time.

My company has an excel file that has our new customer's information (colum A & B are first & last name;Column C is customer email; Colum D is cutomer phone, ect...)
once that information has been entered we have another excel file that will load all of a customer's information, and then be pasted into a welcome letter into MS Word for their confirmation & emailed to them
The problem I'm running into, Is that I do not know how to populate my nex excel sheet with the info I want only from a specific line.
I would like to enter a line / row number (for example '6') and than have excel go to that file & copy/paste the name, phone, email, company name, ect. into my new excel sheet
I have one that works already, but the previous owner PW protected it & hid his formulas/macros, so I'm in a dead end now...

if anyone knows some VBA code to filter on the next line down in an autofilter list.
My spreadsheet has a column with the names of people, which can appear multiple times in no particular order.
I have a macro that I run several times -- once for each individual in the column. The way that I currently do this is by manually using the autofilter on that column to select a person from the autofilter dropdown list. After I've manually filtered on a person, I click a button which runs the assigned macro. I then manually select the next person in the autofilter list, and click the macro button -- over and over until I've done this for everyone in the autofilter list.
I'd like to add some code at the end of my macro so that the macro ends by automatically filtering on the next person (line) in the autofilter list.

Our small family business has a mailing campaign that we track with excel. However, we're very concerned about users opening the macro-filled master spreadsheet. Instead, we'd like a macro to do everything for them.
When a letter comes back in the mail with a bad address, the user types the Street number and street name such as "1234 Main St" into $A2 of c:dropbox eturned.xlsm, presses the macro button, and it should do the following:
Opens and Searches "Sheet1", "column S", in the file c:dropboxmaster1.xlsm, and finds the LAST instance of the address typed.Selects that entire rowCopies the entire row.Pastes the contents into the row of the active cell in the destination spreadsheet, overwriting what was there before. Such as $2:$2 if the address was typed in $A2.In the master1.xlsm spreadsheet, sets the entire copied row color to "gray".closes master1.xlsm and saves changes.
The end result is that the user now has an identical row of information in their spreadsheet, and the master spreadsheet's row is colored gray indicating it has been completed.
Other notes:I'm open to more efficient steps than this if you have them.There are approx 5,000 records to search through in master1.xlsx at any given time.

Code:
Sub Copy_and_Layout()
Dim ws As Worksheet
ThisWorkbook.Activate
For Each ws In ActiveWorkbook.Worksheets
ws.Activate
If Left(ws.Name, 5) = "Sheet" Then
Range("B2:G" & ws.UsedRange.Rows.count).Copy
Sheets("Rev New").Range("B1").Insert xlDown
End If
Next ws
End Sub
So far I have this as a code but it seems to only paste the last sheet at the top ....

I have a spreadsheet where on a weekly basis data is copied in to various tabs. I then have a "formula" tab where I have a single line of formulas which look up the various data tabs and extract the results I want to show.
Currently each week, before I import the new data into the various tabs, I copy the last row in the "formula" tab and paste to the line below it. This contains all the working formulas. I then paste values only on the line that I copied, thus "locking in" the values it calculated with that weeks data. This means that each row then contains the results with that week's data, and this will grow week by week.
What I am looking for is a formula that automates this process. So let's say that row 30 is the final row of data on my formula tab, it contains the formulas I want to use. I would need a macros that does the following:
1. Looks up last row (row 30)
2. Copies last row (row 30)
3. Pastes to next empty row (row 31)
4. Pastes values only to second last row (row 30)
I'm not too great with writing macros, I've found plenty that can find the last row, but I can't get them to work to highlight that row.

I've come across the post by Dangelor but can't reply to it directly so have started a new thread quoting the code. I'm trying to select entire rows of data based on specific values in a column and then paste those rows to a new worksheet.
This code loops 10 times and creates 10 new sheets. Any chance someone could explain some of the code to me and adapt it to suit my situation?: Data will be in sheet 1 ("Data List"). I want search down the rows and if the value in column 2 is "1" copy that row to the sheet named "Heat 1", if the value is "2" then copy that row intt the sheet "Heat 2", etc.
Sub FindandCopyRows()
Dim Data As Variant
Dim DataFound() As Variant
Dim iValue As Integer
Dim j As Long
Dim i As Integer
Application. ScreenUpdating = False
For iValue = 1 To 10
With Worksheets("Main") 'change name as needed
.Select
Data = .UsedRange.Value
End With
Redim DataFound(1 To UBound(Data))
For j = 1 To UBound(Data, 1)
On Error Resume Next......................

I have what is probably a simple request to all the VBA experts out there, and simply want to take a template sheet in a workbook and copy it across to 100 sheets numbered/named 101 -200, and add the name of each sheet as a text reference, e.g. sheet name 101 will have a cell within the worksheet that refers to sheet 101.
I have attached a simplified spreadsheet which indicates what i'm trying to achieve.

What im trying to do is have a macro that will open a file called Blue 1.xls in location "I:SchedulesBlue" and then copy data from cells N13:034. Then paste it into another excel file (Press.xls)on worksheet "Press Break" cell G14.
The data that is copied not always fills up the cells N13:O34 so I need it to go to the next blank cell in column N and paste the information from file Blue 2, and so on for Yellow 1, Yellow 2, YellNR, and Green.
So to summarise I need a macro to open 6 files copy data from the same location on each of the files(N13:O34) then close and paste it into a master document(Press.xls) worksheet "Press Break".

I have a workbook w/ 120+ sheets, and the first one is a table of contents, while each following sheet is a record sheet for one of 10 individuals. That is, sheets 2-8 are for Alice, 9-12 for Bob, 13-29 for Charles, etc. Individual names are in column C, sheet names are hyperlinked text in column A on the table of contents sheet.
I want to know how to hide all the sheets which are not meant for the individual based on the autofilter of Column C. If I select Alice as the autofilter criteria for Column C, I want all the sheets except the table of contents and her sheets 2-8 to be hidden.

Everything works fine except when I password protect the sheet. Then when the autofilter is used an error message is triggered and the error relates to the first range selected in the combobox code. However, the combobox itself works fine on the protected sheet as I included code to unprotect the sheet at the beginning of the code run by the combobox and reprotect it at the end.
Any advice suggestions gratefully received.

I need to Autofilter across many sheets. I have found some examples on doing this such as..
Autofilter Across Multiple Sheets
But I need to take it a step further. Autofilter several Worksheets (skip blank ones - the above link gives code that bombs when it sees a Worksheet with out data.) Then copy those results to a 'summary' page.
So...
1. Autofilter all Worksheets / skip blank ones
2. Show results of all Worksheets on summary page.

I am building a contact database in excel. I am using a userform to search, by autofilter, through several thousand contacts by any one of 7 criteria(account name, postal code,, account number, etc.). The only criteria that I cannot get to work is the phone number.
The numbers are entered in a ten digit string and the cells are formatted as phone numbers. i.e: 8005551212 = (800) 555-1212. When I run the search by the 10 digit number, the autofilter hides all results.

I work for schools use data to guide teachers practices in the classroom. My main function is to mine down through data for kids that teachers focus on specific skills with specific children.
I start with a big conference each summer. By hand I combine, by student name, the data collected over the past school year. We then tear down to student levels setting goals based on statistical analysis. I need to combine across all of these csv files in a way that appends the data from each into one line per kid. I thought that 'vlookup' or 'index, match' might do it. I don't know.

I have a main workbook with 40,000 lines of data for various locations. Column A shows the locations. They all have the same fields in column B to N
I am looking for a macro that will filter on column A (Location name) & for every location in that’s in there,
Copy it, open a new worksheet, paste the data for that location into it, plus, name the tab the same as the location name that’s been pasted in there.
I attach a workbook, of desired results.

I want to be able to Autofilter a specific criteria and copy over to another sheet without the header, then in the first column it'll change the information to a date, then copy back over to a third sheet. I have accomplished all of that.
My problem lies with that if there is no contents when the Autofilter is applied, it will still continue to do the steps and then I have Run-time error '1004' AutoFill method of Range class failed. Because there is no contents it tries to do this.

Wondering if there's a macro that can do this when i press a button.
In spreadsheet "Complete Backlog"Autofilter onShow rows where WIP Status (Column K) equals "Closed"Cut rowsPaste into next available row of "Closed Jobs" spreadsheet. No overwrites.
Or you could switch step 5 and 6 so that the rows are copied over to "Closed Jobs" and then deleted from "Complete Backlog".

I'm having in trying to run a macro. The macro entails a simple copy and paste special over to a new worksheet. I used the auto filter as well to get rid of the non-blanks. It works fine when I copy and paste special over to the new worksheet, but as soon as I run the macro, it doesn't copy over and returns an error.
Range("A1").Select
Sheets("FEF").Select
Rows("1:390").Select
Selection.AutoFilter
Selection.AutoFilter Field:=5, Criteria1:="<>"
Selection.AutoFilter Field:=5
Selection.copy
Selection.AutoFilter Field:=5, Criteria1:="<>"
Sheets("FEFFinished").Select
Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlValues, Operation:=xlNone, SkipBlanks:= _
False, Transpose:=False
End Sub

I have 2 sheets. The first sheet contains rows of data that I wish to search (Query Results) through and find matching data. The second sheet is the source of the data I want to find (Notifications). I want to take the number located in column A on sheet 2 and then use it to auto filter the rows on sheet 1. With the range that is left visible on sheet 1 I want to select the first row (can offset(1,0) to remove the headers, and paste the selected row back in to Sheet 2 ontop of the row where I sourced the original number to filter by.
Once the item is pasted I then want to pick up the next number from Sheet2 to repeat the process until all numbers have been processed in Sheet2. I have been going round the block on this for the past few days!
Sheets("Query Results").Select
With ActiveSheet.AutoFilter.Range
On Error Resume Next
Selection.AutoFilter Field:=1, Criteria1:=vFroID
Selection.AutoFilter Field:=15, Criteria1:=vReqData
Set rng2 = .Offset(1, 0).Resize(.Rows.Count - 1, 1).SpecialCells(xlCellTypeVisible)
On Error Goto 0
End With
vDestRow = "A" & vLoopCount
If rng2 Is Nothing Then
MsgBox "No data to copy"
Else
Set rng = ActiveSheet.AutoFilter.Range
rng.Offset(1, 0).Resize(rng.Rows.Count - 1).Copy _
Destination:=Worksheets("Proposed Notifications").Range(vDestRow)
End If
vLoopCount = vLoopCount + 1

I am experiencing a problem with the autofilter function, but ONLY in Excel 2007. The "visual" filter works fine, but using the filtered range is a no go i.e selecting, copying and deleting an autofiltered range. The trouble is that the autofiltered range also includes all the (in this case) rows in between the target rows, which then means that the filter is more or less useless as a range selection tool.
Example code which was originally developed by Dave H.:
'Filter rows with autofilter
With ActiveSheet
.AutoFilterMode = False
With .Range("B5:N5")
.AutoFilter
.AutoFilter Field:=13, Criteria1:="Criteria"
End With
.AutoFilter.Range.Select
